Meng Lei let out an icy snort. Then, his divine cognition took on the shape of a sharp knife and cleaved mercilessly onto the divine spirit mark left on the Heart of The Existential Plane. Once he destroyed the divine spirit mark, the Heart would become his all the same!

Yet, no matter how Meng Lei attacked it, his attacks simply didn’t damage the divine spirit mark in the least.

“What a tough and durable divine spirit mark! Could a higher deity have been the one that had marked it?”

Meng Lei was rather shocked and apprehensive. At this moment, a green hue blossomed from the divine spirit mark and coalesced into a beautiful figure.

She had pointed ears, long blond hair that cascaded like a waterfall, peerless beauty, and a graceful figure. Her eyes were expressive, and she had a holy, pure aura around her.

  “That’s...”

Meng Lei’s eyes bore into the newcomer as a guess formed in his mind. Among Heaven’s Vault Continent’s four great true gods, the Dragon God, the Beast God, and the Titan Spiritual God, were all males.

The Fairy Goddess was the only female deity among them!

“Little fellow, I’m very happy to see you.”

Her ruby-red lips parted as she spoke. Her voice was like the murmur of spring water, melodious and pleasant to the ears. She said, “I’m sure you must have guessed my identity by now. I am the Fairy Goddess.”

  “Greetings, Your Holiness.”

Meng Lei bowed slightly in greeting. The other party was an ancient higher deity, whereas he was just a newly-ascended intermediate deity. Thus, he ought to show the Fairy Goddess due respect.

“I’ve taken notice of you a very long time ago,” the Fairy Goddess said as a smile appeared on her visage. “By achieving intermediate deity status before you’re even 20 years old, you can be said to be the number one person in Heaven’s Vault Continent’s history.”

  “You flatter me, Your Holiness.”

  Meng Lei bowed slightly.

  “No, you’re indeed very excellent.”

The Fairy Goddess gave a small emotional sigh and said, “Even in the many high-end existential planes in the vast universe, you’d still be considered a one-in-100,000-years genius.”

“You give me too much credit, Your Holiness.”

  Meng Lei blushed slightly.

“Little fellow, I’d like to ask you something. I hope you can answer me honestly,” said the Fairy Goddess.

“Feel free to ask away, Your Holiness.”

  Meng Lei nodded slightly.

“When do you intend to leave Heaven’s Vault Continent?” The Fairy Goddess gazed seriously at Meng Lei. “And which faction do you intend to join?”

  “I’ve not thought about that.”

Meng Lei shook his head and said, “As for which faction... I know nothing about the Void, much less where to even start with when it comes to joining factions.”

The Fairy Goddess nodded lightly to indicate that she understood. Then, she said, “With your talent and aptitude, lingering for a long time in a low-end existential plane like Heaven’s Vault Continent is honestly a waste of time. I’d suggest that you leave as soon as possible. High-end existential planes are where you should be shining instead.”

  “Perhaps!”

Meng Lei was noncommittal. Before the system had upgraded, staying in Heaven’s Vault Continent was indeed of no help to him. However, now that the system had gained three new functions after its upgrade, everything had become completely different!

He could pick up things from high-end existential planes!

He could plunder the living beings on high-end existential planes!

There really wasn’t much meaning as to whether or not he went to high-end existential planes.

At the sight of Meng Lei’s noncommittal expression, the Fairy Goddess couldn’t help but become somewhat puzzled.

She wasn’t deceiving Meng Lei. To intermediate deities, there really wasn’t much point in lingering in low-end existential planes, so why was Meng Lei thinking otherwise?

Though puzzled, the Fairy Goddess didn’t press the issue. Instead, she said, “Little fellow, if there comes a day where you’d like to leave Heaven’s Vault Continent, you can go to the Fairies to look for me. I can lend you a hand.”

“Thank you for your guidance, Your Holiness.”

  Meng Lei bowed slightly.

The Fairy Goddess gave him a smile that looked as if a blooming lily. She said, “Work hard, little fellow. I believe you’ll definitely achieve even greater glory in the future!”

Then, the Fairy Goddess’ form gradually dissipated, vanishing together with the divine spirit mark she had left on the Heart of The Existential Plane.

Meng Lei gazed at the Heart of The Existential Plane, and then, he bowed and said, “Thank you for fulfilling my wishes, Your Holiness!”

These words of gratitude came from his heart. Meng Lei knew very well that had the Fairy Goddess been unwilling to give up the Heart of The Existential Plane, there was no way he could have destroyed the divine spirit mark on the Heart with his current abilities.

Yet the Fairy Goddess had dispersed the divine spirit mark on her own accord. This was no different from gifting Meng Lei the Heart of The Existential Plane. How could he not be grateful to her?

Meng Lei refined the Heart of The Existential Plane and took complete control over Heaven’s Vault Continent. Then, he began to search the continent eagerly.

  The Dragon God Empire...

  The Titan Empire...

  The Beast People Empire...

  The Far Northern Icelands...

  The Fairy Empire...

  The Endless Oceans...

  The Lost Continent...

Familiar-looking scenery flashed past one by one at high speed in Meng Lei’s mind. Compared to Demonic Dragon Continent, Heaven’s Vault Continent was no different from a tiny little island.

His line of vision left Heaven’s Vault Continent and came to the Endless Oceans. Several islands, big and small, came into view. The large ones were about the same size as the Lost Continent, while the small ones were no bigger than a few square kilometers.

Traces of humans and Beast People could be found on many of the islands. They lived far away from turmoil and disturbances and far away from civilization and made a living by fishing.

  “I can’t find him! I still can’t find him!

  “Eh? What’s that?”

Suddenly, a huge continent came into Meng Lei’s view. The continent was extremely far away from Heaven’s Vault Continent, easily millions of miles away from it.

It occupied an area above the Endless Oceans and was actually multiple times the size of Heaven’s Vault Continent in surface area. Additionally, it was densely populated and boasted an astonishingly high population that far exceeded that of Heaven’s Vault Continent!

“I knew the Heaven’s Vault Continent existential plane wasn’t that simple! With such a vast ocean on the existential plane, how can Heaven’s Vault Continent be the only continent on it?”

Astounded, Meng Lei swiftly began to check out information about the continent. After a series of checks, Meng Lei discovered to his astonishment that there were actually humans, Fairies, Dragons, Titans, Beast People, and even races such as Dwarves and Demi-Beast People on the continent! Every race that should be there was there!

However, there was something completely out of his expectations—the ones ruling over the continent weren’t Dragons or Titans. Neither was it the Fairies or the Beast People.

  Rather, it was the humans!

Humans occupied the vastest and most fertile territories on the continent, whereas the Beast People, Dragons, Fairies, Titans, and other races were scattered in the continent’s peripheral regions.

“The humans on this continent certainly live up to expectations!”

Meng Lei marveled inwardly and continued to scan the continent.

Suddenly, a familiar aura appeared in his line of sight.

Chapter 284: Angel’s Blade, The Light Church

“Ol’ President, I’ve finally found you!”

Meng Lei was incredibly agitated. Shrouded by Power of Existential Plane, he instantly vanished from where he was.

By the time he next appeared, he was already in the sky above a huge, lofty mountain on the new continent.

The mountain was tall, lofty, and magnificent. Various exotic buildings stood on the mountain, and almost a thousand of them linked together to form a dignified and stately building complex.

People filled up a square in the building complex. They wore unusual clothes and were incredibly nervous as they watched a figure suspended in the sky.

“I’m cheering for you, President Amos!”

“Mr. President, show those quacks from the Light Church the power of the Kroc Academy!”

Five figures were suspended in the air at the moment. Every one of them gave off an incredibly powerful aura—evidently, all of them had reached Heaven’s Vault Continent’s definition of the half-deity realm.

There were four people on one side. All of them were dressed in red bishop’s cloaks and wore specially-made miters on their heads. They wore golden gloves and held pastoral staffs in their hands. Pinned on their chests were metal badges printed with an angel’s image.

They were the Light Church’s Red-Cloaked Archbishops!

On the other hand, only a single person stood on the other side. He had a head of red hair, wore white robes, and looked kindly and amicable.

Had Meng Lei been here, he’d definitely be able to recognize him. That man was exactly the Ol’ President whom he had been painstakingly looking for—Amos Kroc!

“Archbishop Chicas,” Ol’ Amos glared furiously at the four men standing opposite him and said, “The Kroc Academy has always minded their own business and has never interfered with the Light Church’s matters. Why are you attacking us?”

  “Not quite, President Kroc.”

Archbishop Chicas adopted an attitude that displayed great compassion and sadness for mankind as he said, “The gods have mercy on the people! Our Lord has taken pity on the hardships and suffering of the Kroc Kingdom’s people. We are following our Lord’s decree and wish to bathe the Kroc Kingdom’s people in the light of our Lord. Why do you stand in our way, President Amos?”

  “Don’t give me that crap!”

Ol’ Amos said coldly, “You just want to spread the Goddess of Light’s faith in the Kroc Kingdom, don’t you? Don’t even think about it! The Kroc Kingdom has unremitting self-reliance. We don’t need any deity to worship!”

“President Kroc, you cannot speak on the Kroc Kingdom’s billions of citizens’ behalf. They have the freedom and right to choose their own faith. You have no right to decide on their behalves,” Archbishop Chicas sported a merciful expression on his face as he said, “Much less obstruct them from joining the Light Church.”

“Such hypocrisy and pretentiousness!” Ol’ Amos snorted. “Let’s battle if that’s what you want! I’m ready anytime!”

“Since President Kroc insists on being unrepentant, then don’t hold it against us if we don’t show you any civility!”

Archbishop Chicas sighed and said, “O supreme Lord, your children are going to sin again. I beg for your forgiveness and clemency!”

After saying a prayer, all of Archbishop Chicas’ previous compassionate and sorrowful demeanor vanished, and he became incredibly cold and detached. He said, “Get into the Angel Battle Formation and take him out quickly!”

  “Kill!”

The other three Red-Cloaked Archbishops let out a fierce shout. Then, holy light-elemental power of divinity formed around them and rose into the air, taking the shape of three holy angel holograms.

For a moment, four terrifying auras swept outward and went crashing down onto Ol’ Amos from all around.

  Boom!

The dimension around Ol’ Amos was instantly locked down. Ol’ Amos felt an overwhelming pressure weighing down on him, rendering him almost immobile.

“Thinking of suppressing me with a mere Angel Battle Formation? Open up!”

A divine nation hologram suddenly manifested above Ol’ Amos as he roared. Strong, torrential Power of Divine Nation surged forth from the hologram and resisted the Angel Battle Formation.

“A divine nation! You’ve actually already established a divine nation! The pope was right—you are indeed the most secretive and low-profile half-deity on the whole continent!”

The four Red-Cloaked Archbishops were filled with shock and fury as they gazed at the divine nation hologram in the sky.

The three steps to deification for a half-deity were as follows: Light up the divine fire, manifest a divine core, establish a divine nation.

Each completed step brought tremendous changes to a half-deity’s strength.

Upon the complete establishment of a divine nation, a half-deity would officially step into the true god stage and become a true god.

  A true god!

How few true gods were there on the Light Continent?

Which one among them wasn’t a powerful existence that had already deified since tens of thousands of years ago? Who the hell did Amos Kroc think he was? What had he done to deserve becoming a true god?

“It is heresy for one to deify without approval!” Archbishop Chicas bellowed furiously, “Go all out and suppress him, even if you have to kill him! No one is allowed to deify without explicit approval on the Light Continent!

  “Angel’s Blade!”

Following Archbishop Chicas’ shout, a holy sword glittering with endless holy light suddenly appeared in the hands of the angel hologram above him.

The blade was incredibly keen and gave off a sharp aura that even slashed several pitch-black rifts into the dimension.

It was none other than Angel’s Blade, the Light Church’s trump card that was capable of slaughtering even true gods.

  “Cleave, Angel’s Blade!”

Angel’s Blade instantly cleaved downward, sundering the dimension and creating a rift. Then, it passed through the rift and appeared above Ol’ Amos as though it had teleported.

“That bastard, he’s brought even the hallowed gods-slaying weapon Angel’s Blade here!”

Ol’ Amos’ countenance changed drastically, and he hastily used his Power of Divine Nation to break free of Angel Battle Formation’s suppression. Then, he darted to the side in a flash.

Angel’s Blade was a legendary true god-level divine weapon that made slaying gods and vanquishing demons a cinch. It was said that only the most pious worshipers could receive them.

The four archbishops weren’t weaker than him by much. Moreover, they even had Angel’s Blade with them and could slay a true god by joining hands. Ol’ Amos didn’t dare to meet their attacks head-on so stubbornly.

Ol’ Amos moved very quickly, successfully dodging the Angel’s Blade attack. However, the dodge caused the divine nation hologram above him to instantly dissipate.

  “Suppress him, Angel’s Battle Formation!”

The four archbishops would never let such a great opportunity pass them by. Pure, holy light blossomed from the angel holograms and crushed down on Ol’ Amos, suppressing him and holding him down to the spot.

  “Cleave, Angel’s Blade!”

Angel’s Blade cleaved downward at Ol’ Amos again!

  “I’m finished!”

Immobilized, Ol’ Amos could only watch helplessly as Angel’s Blade cleaved down upon him. A look of despair surfaced in his eyes—he knew that it was all over for him!

He was just a half-deity and ultimately hadn’t attained true godhood yet. Should Angel’s Blade, the hallowed gods-slaying weapon, strike him, his divine body would definitely be severed into two.

“Am I going to perish here on Light Continent when I haven’t even returned to Heaven’s Vault Continent yet?”

Despair filled Ol’ Amos’ eyes. “My younger sister! And
Meng Lei! I’m going to die when I haven’t even said my final goodbye to the two of you... I can’t accept this...”

  “Look out, Mr. President!”

The students and teachers in the square cried out in shock and horror as they tried to call out a warning to him. However, their voices were completely drowned out by the howling cold winds.

  “Go in peace, Amos!”

A smug look appeared on Archbishop Chicas’ face as he said, “After your death, the Kroc Kingdom shall become a part of the Light Church, and its billions of people shall bathe in our Lord’s holy light!”

“Chicas! And the Light Church! I’ll never let all of you off even after my death!”

Fury welled up in Ol’ Amos’ eyes as he bellowed into the sky, “I can’t accept this...!”

  Whoosh!

Angel’s Blade cleaved down at him, instantly engulfing Ol’ Amos. Following its momentum, it then struck a mountain peak and cleaved it right into two!

The blow’s terrifying force badly frightened the students and teachers in the square, and they hastily turned their gazes to the sky—only to find that there was no one there.

Only the four Red-Cloaked Archbishops remained standing in mid-air, whereas their academy president was nowhere in sight. It was as if he had vanished into thin air!

  “Ol’ President?”

  “Where’s Ol’ President?”

  “Where is he?”

The dazed and despondent students and teachers couldn’t accept what had happened. After all, the academy president was God and the heavens himself in the entire Kroc Academy, yet the heavens had crashed down unto them at this moment.

  ...

  “He’s gone?”

In contrast to the dazed and despondent students and teachers, all four Red-Cloaked Archbishops were frowning instead.

While Angel’s Blade was indeed incomparably sharp, there was no way a cleave from it could turn someone into dust.

Amos was gone, and there was only one possible reason why—he had managed to evade the attack just now!

  “He’s actually evaded it!”

The four archbishops had an awful look on their faces as they looked around for Ol’ Amos’ traces. Then, they spotted him in the air a short distance away... Wait a second, who was that beside him?
