The slapping sounds were relentless. Even Little Oliver felt pain listening to them.

However, the lion-like man from before was now obedient and docile like a silent lamb. He just kept his head down and did the surgery. He did not even dare to reply.

Could it be that the professor liked this? A strange thought appeared in Little Oliver's mind and he shook it away.

Impossible! He must not have this thought if he did not want to let it slip one day and be on the receiving end of the professor's anger.

"Good, very good! " Zheng Ren would occasionally praise the professor but most times, one could still hear the sound of the hemostatic forceps hitting the professor's wrist.

In the middle was Little Oliver wiping away the professor's sweat.

Half an hour later, Professor Rudolf Wagner finally completed one branch embolization of the capillary network.

After the angiogram and seeing the image of the capillary network disappear without a trace, Professor Rudolf Wagner roared and raised his fist.

"What are you screaming for! Continue!" Zheng Ren said coldly.

"Boss, did I do it? I really did it!" Professor Rudolf Wagner still refused to believe it.

"Yes, don't worry about it now," Zheng Ren said. "There are still three sets of capillary networks left. You can do it."

  "Okay!" The professor replied crisply.

Some things were like paper windows. Once pierced, it would be revealed that they were actually nothing.

Accompanied by the sound of the hemostatic forceps hitting against the professor's wrist, the professor's rapid growth exceeded his expectations.

Zheng Ren could feel the changes in the professor during the surgery.

He had probably advanced to the Grandmaster-level. Advancing during the surgery was probably similar to advancing during a battle in an online novel.

The professor's own skills were not bad. Zheng Ren was very satisfied.

After that, the smacking sounds still ran clear throughout the operating theatre but were decreasing in frequency.

The surgery was also relatively smooth. The third group of capillaries was completely embolized in half an hour.

Looking at the disappearing capillaries, Professor Rudolf Wagner felt proud but did not dare to celebrate. The boss was simply too conservative. The atmosphere in the operating room was so depressing that it was like... However, he only dared to criticize him in his heart.

"Boss, you must be tired. Why don't you go down and rest first?" After the third set of capillary network embolizations, the professor spoke up.

"Oh? Do you think you've gotten the hang of it by now?" Zheng Ren asked.

"Yes, I can already understand how it works. Although there are still flaws in the technique, I feel like there won't be any more problems when performing this surgery." Professor Rudolf Wagner's words were full of pride and confidence.

"Alright then. Xi Bao'er will be your assistant." Zheng Ren turned around and walked off the stage. He took off his sterile gloves and walked out of the operating theatre.

"You're good, boss." Su Yun had unknowingly arrived outside the operating theatre. He sat lazily on the chair and crossed his legs.

  "Hmm? What's the matter?"

"Lecturing a rich and powerful person is like lecturing a dog. Do you know the status of a rich and powerful person in the European medical community?" Su Yun was more direct. He was not afraid that the professor would be unhappy.

Well, if it really did not work out, he would go out and drink with him! Whoever drank until he collapsed would be considered a coward!

As long as he was not facing Chang Yue, Su Yun was not afraid.

"It's alright. It was the rich and powerful who requested it," Zheng Ren said with a smile.

"Next time, I should give you a ruler, sterilize it, and put it in a sterile bag," Su Yun joked. "Using a ruler to hit him would give you a greater sense of achievement."

"Boss, do you know why Lil Fugui came all the way here to learn prostate surgery?" Su Yun asked as he looked into Zheng Ren's eyes.

"I guess it's cause some big shot wants to do a similar surgery," Zheng Ren said.

"You're not stupid then." Su Yun habitually began to scold Zheng Ren. "Let me tell you, it's Professor Mehar who needs it. Do you know Professor Mehar?"

  "I don't."

"Regarding the Nobel Prize in medicine and biology, Professor Mehar's influence over it is basically forty percent."

"Oh, that's good. After Lil Fugui performs the surgery on the doctor, will his win for the Nobel Prize be confirmed? Then, will we be able to see Lil Fugui standing on stage to receive the Nobel Prize next year?"

Su Yun was puzzled at Zheng Ren's response and looked at him.

Zheng Ren observed Professor Rudolf Wagner's surgery through the lead-lined glass.

"Aren't you incredibly stupid? Are you V.i.r.g.i.n Mary?" Su Yun suddenly said.

"Who are you scolding exactly?" Zheng Ren saw that the professor had begun to step on the line. He looked down at the screen in the operating room and retorted, "A few days ago, I remember someone said that he wanted to protect all personal assets. If you want to have a go at it, you can discuss it with the professor."

"Boss, are you giving me the authorization to do so?"

"Of course, I'm not interested in playing middle man," Zheng Ren said firmly. "I'm quite confident that you'll be able to handle these things."

"Okay!" Su Yun jumped up from her chair and punched Zheng Ren excitedly on the shoulder. "Boss, I asked around and a professor in Russia said that Mayo Clinic has improved its TIPS surgery and can reduce the number of punctures to less than three. He said that this year... No, next year's medical awards will be tremendous."

"Oh, so you're here? You can go with Lil Fugui to do it. If you want to learn TIPS surgery, I can teach you."

"I'm not interested in that at all. I'm just your agent." Su Yun shook his head. "I'm from the Thoracic Surgery Department. I want to use my own surgery techniques to obtain the Nobel Prize!"

"You're ambitious." Zheng Ren casually commented. He was not interested in the Nobel prize at all.

Su Yun stood behind Zheng Ren and stared at his back in confusion.

What Zheng Ren said was reasonable. To be honest, Su Yun did not agree with him. His attitude was not good if he wanted fame and fortune. Why was he like this?

Maybe he had some sort of social phobia?

The moment he thought about this, his mind went on overload. Su Yun's eyes instantly lit up.

That was right, social phobia! The boss was still the more serious type. He was not even willing to fight for the Nobel Prize.

Zheng Ren did not know what Su Yun was thinking. If he knew, he would probably kick Su Yun out.

"Lil Fugui, your hand position isn't right. The angle of the wrist, remember the angle! Don't use brute force. It's useless. Be careful of the blood vessels!"

Zheng Ren pressed the intercom and instructed Professor Rudolf Wagner on the surgery outside.

The professor listened to his commands very quickly. The embolization of each section of the capillary network continued to progress. The superselection went smoothly and the time was shortened.

Finally, the last two groups of capillary network embolization were completed. The patient did not feel any pain or discomfort at all.

Well, he just felt a little tired lying down. Other than that, he did not feel any other discomfort.

Chapter 481 - The Nobel Prize? I’m Not Interested

As the professor's surgery was completed, Zheng Ren heard a ringing coming from the System.

Zheng Ren was stunned. Access to the Library? What the hell was that?

He had to find a quiet place and take a look.

With this access, if he could see books and periodicals from the future, it would be... Zheng Ren did not dare think about it. He could hear his own heartbeat.

Gao Shaojie had been standing beside the LCD screen in the operating theatre, unnoticed by anyone else.

This was not the best place to watch the surgery but when Su Yun had arrived, he had given his seat up to him.

At first, Gao Shaojie had mistaken Su Yun for a technician. Then, he thought he was a technician who knew emergency treatment. After that, he saw Su Yun and Zheng Ren setting up a table for the surgery.

From then on, he was sure that this was Su Yun, Zheng Ren's assistant. This was indisputable.

Well, in his heart, Zheng Ren had changed from Chief Zheng to Teacher Zheng Ren. It was very natural and not pretentious at all.

Surgery was just surgery. The more Gao Shaojie looked at it, the more shocked he became.

Zheng Ren had embolized the first group of capillary vascular networks. He was very experienced.

From the fifth minute onward, Gao Shaojie had always thought that the surgery was about to be completed and that he would definitely embolize it there. However, the microtubules that Zheng Ren had selected kept going down until they reached the branch arteries of the capillaries before he began embolization.

Gao Shaojie rarely opened blood vessels by force. There were many disadvantages to doing so.

The most important point was that if the strength of the microtubules exceeded the elastic range of the blood vessels, it would cause them to burst.

In the past, he had never thought that surgery could be done this way.

  Teacher Zheng was amazing!

Not only did he know how to perform TIPS surgery, but it was also no wonder that he was ranked first in the national selection for prostate interventional embolization.

  Gao Shaojie was now convinced.

When Zheng Ren came out and spoke to Su Yun, Gao Shaojie heard every word.

What did he say? The Nobel Prize in medicine? He was not interested at all.

When he heard the word 'Nobel', the blood vessels in Gao Shaojie's body began to contract as his blood pressure suddenly rose.

What was this? It was the highest honor in the medical world! It was the biggest dream of all those who practiced surgical techniques!

When he heard Zheng Ren's words, Gao Shaojie sighed from the bottom of his heart. Teacher Zheng was really an extraordinary person. He did not care about this sort of fleeting fame and fortune at all.

However, could someone really not care?

Gao Shaojie shook his head and chased away all these unnecessary thoughts.

After the surgery was done, Professor Rudolf Wagner walked out happily. He gave such a wide smile, the corners of his mouth could almost be seen from the edge of his sterile mask.

"boss, I feel that I've made progress!" The professor said anxiously.

It was easier said than done in an effort to refine his techniques.

Especially with the professor's 'top' level of interventional surgery, it was possible that he would never progress any further.

However, this was overcome by his own talent and hard work.

The professor did not expect that he would have a new understanding of the surgery after the boss had used hemostatic forceps to perform half the surgery when he was hungover and in a bad state!

"Well, congratulations," Zheng Ren said. "You guys can finish up here first. I'll go to the ward."

With that, he turned around and left, leaving the silly and smiling Professor Rudolf Wagner in the operating theatre.

The system gave him a strange reward. Zheng Ren wanted to find a quiet place to ponder about it.

However, the professor did not understand. What had he done wrong?

After this surgery, Professor Rudolf Wagner had a new understanding of Zheng Ren's surgical prowess.

As his own level increased, he clearly knew that his and Zheng Ren's skill levels were world's apart.

"What's wrong, boss?" Professor Rudolf Wagner did not understand Zheng Ren's coldness. He looked at Su Yun, feeling quite guilty as he asked.

"Lil Fugui, let me tell you." Su Yun slumped back against his chair and smiled. He looked at the professor and said casually, "After you perform surgery on Professor Mehar, do you want to apply to compete for the Nobel Prize?"

When he mentioned the Nobel Prize, the professor's facial muscles twitched.

"Your attitude toward Professor Mehar is known by the entire European medical community. You can't deny it. Just ask and you can find out." Su Yun did not care how he felt at all, merely asking casually, "If you have something ready-made, the boss won't fight with you. If you want to use TIPS to apply for the surgery-related information..."

"It's November now. The application deadline is the thirty-first of January next year. It's cutting far too close," the professor said. "I've gotten two achievements in the past but I'm not too sure about them, even if Professor Mehar approved them.

"I'm wondering if the boss will agree to my subversive TIPS surgical identification and treatment as a project to report to the Nobel Prize committee."

  "What do you think?"

"The boss is so magnanimous. He has hands that have been kissed by God. How could he not agree?"

"There are articles related to TIPS surgery. Let's hurry up and publish them. I think the boss should be the first author."

"Of course!" the professor said without hesitation. Subconsciously, he moved his wrist.

His wrist that had been hit by Zheng Ren's hemostatic forceps was still in pain.

Gao Shaojie was silent as he secretly left the operating room.

The matter discussed between Su Yun and professor Rudolf Wagner was too grand and far away from The First Affiliated Hospital of Provincial Capital Medical University.

One could not hear too much about this kind of thing or it would turn into fine points.

Gao Shaojie quietly went to the changing room and saw Zheng Ren sitting in the smoking-room. He coughed to make his presence known and said, "Teacher Zheng, are you resting?"

"No, I'm smoking," Zheng Ren smiled and replied. "Teacher Gao, you're too polite. Do you smoke?"

"I'll have a smoke then." Gao Shaojie did not bother with pretenses. He walked into the small smoking-room and sat opposite Zheng Ren.

"Teacher Gao, I just received a call from Chief Physician Pan. He said that there's a doctor who can come back to work. Have you finished the preoperative preparations for the patient on your side?" Zheng Ren asked.

Happiness came too suddenly. Gao Shaojie did not know what to say.

Zheng Ren did not rush him. He just smoked quietly.

"It's... It's all ready. Teacher Zheng, can… Can I trouble you with something?" Gao Shaojie stuttered. He was very nervous, his face a little pale.

Zheng Ren was very curious. He had to go for the surgery and it was Gao Shaojie's request. Why was he so nervous?Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click /book/the-surgeon's-studio_16489637605120805/the-nobel-prize-i%E2%80%99m-not-interested_50182142168203035 for visiting.

It was not a bad thing. He did not even want the money. What was there to be nervous about?

"Tell me." Zheng Ren smiled and tried his best to maintain a gentle
attitude to ease Gao Shaojie's nervousness.

"When you teach me the TIPS surgery, can you not hit me with the hemostatic forceps..."

  Chapter 482 - Gastroenterology Consultation

  Slightly speechless, Zheng Ren smiled.

Gao Shaojie was a little embarrassed.

He was in his forties and afraid of being beaten with hemostatic forceps.

This kind of thing had never happened to Gao Shaojie before.

When Gao Shaojie was in school, he had only seen his classmates being beaten by their teachers. He had always been an excellent student and was skillful with his hands. Therefore, he had never been through any similar experiences.

After all, Gao Shaojie was a straight A's student.

However, no matter how good of a student he was, he still had to kneel.

Professor Rudolf Wagner was beaten like a dog in the operating theatre...

Although Gao Shaojie was humble and serious, he suddenly shivered at the thought of being beaten by a small doctor with hemostatic forceps in front of his students and colleagues when he returned to the Affiliated Hospital of the University of Medicine.

"I did that at Lil Fugui's request," Zheng Ren said with a smile. "As long as you don't have such a special request, I won't use the hemostatic forceps that way on you."

Gao Shaojie carefully observed Zheng Ren's expression. When he saw that Zheng Ren did not seem to be lying, he was relieved.

"Moreover, TIPS surgery is different from prostate interventional embolization surgery. The former is a brand-new and subversive method of diagnosis and surgery. It tests the ability to combine preoperative screening with intraoperative imaging.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click /book/the-surgeon's-studio_16489637605120805/gastroenterology-consultation_50182144047251261 for visiting.

"On the other hand, the prostate interventional embolization surgery tests more on one's surgical technique."
