  “So, this guy is pretty much Satan himself?” Zena asked.

  Yuri nodded his head. “Yes, he is. All the cult murders, unsolved kidnappings, and other things that seem surreal for humans are all his doing. All the people who scream conspiracy theories about Satan, it’s all him. It’s a way for humans to get curious and try to look into it or to attempt to do what they read. Countless people have been brutally murdered or are taken for his amusement. It doesn’t matter if the person is paranormal or human; everyone is just a toy or candy to him. Liam, myself, and many others have been trying to keep him at bay or at least try to keep him in his world. If we let him run wild in other worlds, especially the human world and allow him to do what he pleases, then many places would be even more hellish than humans think they are. We just recently found out that he has been gathering people who have recessive gifts like you have.”

  “There is no way of killing him, and it would take too much magic to seal him away, and no one has that type of energy,” Liam added. “Even if we could get a great amount of energy, that’s too much of a risk.”

  “Wow,” Zena’s mouth dropped. Her body became cold as she thought about the mysterious animal that attacked her and the man who almost raped her. Something told her it could have possibly been Apep. “Something is telling me that it was him who attacked me at the cave and the party in Vegas.”

  “Apep can shift into any type of person or animal he wants,” Yuri wasn’t surprised. “The cave was possibly his fist attempt to kidnap you. As for the night we met, it could have been him disguised in an attempt to get you again, but he fled so quickly when I came to your aid, I couldn’t confirm it. He’s not a fool to draw attention to himself.”

  Alexandra sat up straight. “With our hands tied behind our backs, we have to make sure we stop whatever plan he has cooked up. We must think before he does. It’s not easy getting ahead of him when he has so many who do his bidding almost all over the world and different realms. We can never take our eyes off him or let our guards down.”

  Zena's chest felt heavy. She couldn’t believe there was a person like that. What scared her most was that he was after her. He is after whatever slept inside of her. After hearing all of that, Zena knew more clearly that she must train hard to become stronger. If Yuri, Liam, and many other inhuman beings couldn’t stop him, then no one could. She knew now that everything is not just a fun, carefree adventure; it’s a life or death situation. She had to rely on Yuri and Liam to protect her with their lives, and at the same time, she didn't know what she would do if she ever lost either of them. So, she needed to become strong so she could handle herself.

  Yuri stood up and walked over to Zena. He bent down to kiss Zena on the head. He assured her that he and Liam would protect her no matter what. Yanking on Zena's arm, Yuri threw Zena over his shoulder.

  “Let’s prep your body for tomorrow’s training,” Yuri had a dirty smirk on his face. “Your muscles will need it.”

  Yuri excused himself from the room and walked into the bedroom that he, Zena, and Liam shared and threw Zena on the bed. He stripped her down to her underwear and grabbed some massaging oil. With pleasure, his cold hands massaged Zena’s body.

  Zena screeched at the top of her lungs, as she darted from the backyard and into the house, she shared with Liam and Yuri. She crashed into Que’s arms. She had to bend a little because Que was shorter than her.

  “Liam!! Angus!!! That’s not fucking funny,” Zena yelled.

  Liam and Angus came walking into the room, cackling in laughter. They had tears running down their faces, both in their human-anima

  “You two need to grow the hell up,” Que shouted, as she held on to Zena protectively.

  Liam couldn’t stop snickering. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I just couldn’t help it.”

  Angus smirked. “To be honest, Zena keeps opening herself up to it. And it’s funny every time.”

  Zena was in her favorite spot in the backyard under a tree reading a book with her headphones blasting. She was so into her book that her mind was elsewhere, which lead to the two brothers to scare the living crap out of her, in their inhuman bodies.

  “Why can’t you let her read peacefully?!” Que shouted.

  “Because we were scunnered,” Both Angus and Liam said at the same time.

Zena could picture the look of terror on her face as she bolted across the yard.

  “Aye, you’re pretty fast on your feet when ya scared shitless,” Angus snickered as he returned human.

  Que rolled her eyes as she laughed a little. “As old as you two are, ya’ll are childish ass idiots.”

  Zena chuckled as she pushed Angus. Everyone got comfortable in the living room. Zena propped her feet on Liam's lap as she leaned her head on Que snuggling with her. Angus laid out on the love seat with one leg propped over the top of the couch.

  Liam rubbed Zena’s feet. “So, what were you reading?”

  “I was in the library looking at stuff when I came across an interesting book called Underground Cites. What had me looking into it is when I remember when you all were talking about the Caverns. So, I thought I’d look into it. What are the Caverns, anyways?”

  “Might as well let her know about it,” Que said, waiting for a sign for the ok from Liam. Once she got it, she went on to explain it. “The Caverns is an underground city with pathways to different realms. A lot of supernatural traffic runs in and out of it. Since it’s in the Grand Canyon, there are areas people use to fight and settle their differences.”

  “The city in the Caverns is massive. It’s bigger than the biggest city in the human world. There are many different types of magical beings living there. It’s like New York when immigrants came to America for new dreams and possibilities when America was still growing.” Angus added.

  Zena tapped her finger on her mouth. “Let me guess, a lot of illegal stuff goes on in the caves? Such as high human trafficking? And with the tunnels being endless, there is no way of knowing about or catching anything illegal.”

  Angus looked at Zena with a blank shocked look on his face. “Ok, I’m going to be the person who is going to say this, Zena it’s terrifying on how exactly on point you are sometimes on things.”

  Que kissed Zena on the lips as she held her tight. “That’s because Zena has a sharp, smart mind.”

  Zena smiled as she held on to Que's hand. “No, I just have an active, and I guess realistic imagination. It even scares me that I was right. When I visited the Grand Canyon, I had a thought about something like that.”

  Liam pulled Zena, so her upper body laid on his lap. “Although I would love for you to see the city. I'd rather not take you there.”

  “I'd rather not go back there either, to be honest,” Zena said bluntly. She felt chills going down her spine as she thought about the events that went on when she accidentally walked into the Caverns.

  Liam, Angus, and Que looked at Zena, stunned at Zena’s bluntness and certainty. They thought for sure she would say she wanted to go.

  “What?” Zena looked at everyone. “Look, the reason why I said that is because I feel like if I ever go to the Caverns, something bad might happen. It’s just a feeling I have. Maybe down the road when I’ve had more training to be able to handle myself, maybe I would want to see it. I couldn’t care less if I never even see it. There are many more things to see and do.”

  “Damn girl, you're deep,” Angus said almost lowly.

  “Ok, let’s have a change of subject in here,” Que clapped her hands. “Let’s fucking get high and have a fucking wild night just hanging out here.”

  “Sounds fun to me,” Angus, Liam, and Zena said as they hopped off the couch.

  Everyone left the house to grab snacks, food, drinks, and weed. When they were at the grocery store, they acted like rowdy teenagers going through the aisles and goofing around. At the weed store, Zena couldn’t help but picture how would werewolves and an angel act when they are stoned as hell. It was something that seemed interesting to her. She was pretty sure she wasn’t the only person who wanted to see how supernatural beings acted when they were drunk and stoned. She was able to experience it firsthand. She was most definitely going to record any hilarious moments that might occur.

  Zena finally had a weekend she wanted. She was doing spontaneous things with her friends and boyfriend. Every day there was always something to do with someone. Angus practically lived with the throuple since he was Liam’s brother, and Que always visited as often as she could. Zena loved the little circle that she had developed with the new people in her life, and there was still room to add more people into her circle.

  After all the shopping was done, the gang went to grab some food from a restaurant to bring back to the house. Liam kicked on some music and started to dance around the room, making everyone laugh so hard that they were crying. Zena munched on some gummy bears infused with cannabis oil. It didn’t take long before Liam pulled Zena to her feet and made her dance with him. Que jumped in to join the two. After a couple of drinks and eating edibles, everyone was high and drunk. Laughter filled the whole house as Liam, Que, Angus, and Zena played many video games. After a while, it got competitive. The gaming stopped when Que almost threw an empty liquor bottle at Angus. They decided to watch different types of animes. Liam and Angus couldn’t help but cackle in laughter at how high Zena was. She was being giggly and goofy. They were surprised she was so hilarious and comedic in her unique way.

  Zena and Que walked out to the backyard to get some fresh air and to smoke. They got intimate and made out a little. Angus watched the two from the living room. It was clear that he was having thoughts that weren’t ok with Liam. Liam’s cheerful face began to get serious.

  “I suggest ye stop with that look before I come over there and kick your arse,” Liam threaten.

  Angus looked over at Liam with a confused look on his face. “What? I didn’t say or do anything. What’s up with you suddenly?”

  “Angus, I know you well enough to know what you are thinking. Zena is your sister now.”

  “I know she’s my sister, and I love her like our other sister. But,” Angus made a face, “Come on now, I know damn well you think that’s pretty hot. And don’t you dare lie that you haven’t had any thoughts of watching them and wanting to join in. It’s not like you haven’t done it before.”

  Liam sighed. He knew Angus had a point, but he was a changed man now. He had no desire to look at his mate in that type of inappropriate manner. He respected what Zena and Que had. He admitted to himself that he did think of seeing a woman pleasing his mate in ways he or Yuri couldn’t sound a little hot, but the mature side of him told him that he had no desire to see it or join the women’s special time. There might be a day, maybe, that a situation could come around that Que would join pleasuring Zena with him and Yuri, but he didn’t see it anywhere soon.

  “I’m not going to lie, years ago I would want something like that,” Liam admitted “But now, all I see is two women friends whose bond is very intimate. I feel no sexual desire when I see Que make out with Zena or hear their moans of pleasure.”

  Angus rolled his eyes. He had a look like he was calling what Liam said bullshit. He looked back out the window at the women. Suddenly Angus heard a growl.

  “Angus did something to make Liam mad,” Que already knew what was going on. More like she was used to it. “Don’t worry about it, this won’t take long.” Que stood up. “Let’s go back inside and make some popcorn.”

  Zena walked back inside the house and went into the pantry to grab the popcorn. She began to snicker as she put the popcorn in the microwave.

  “What’s so funny?” Que asked.

  “Well,” Zena snickered some more. “Right now, two werewolves are going at it in the backyard, and we are just going on like it’s nothing. It’s not every day, well for me at least, that someone would see something like that. It’s pretty amazing and funny at the same time.”

  Que snickered along with Zena. “I forgot that you are still new to this life. Yeah, it is funny.” Que looked out the window to see the two brothers back in their human bodies fighting each other still. “You know ever since Liam met you, he has changed.” Que smiled sweetly. “Yuri as well. Both in a good way. I have never seen Liam so passionate about a person like he is with you. Because of you, he has matured even more than I thought he could. To be blunt, you are the first woman Liam has ever and will ever love due to him imprinting with you. His feet are more on the ground then they were before. Don’t get me wrong, Liam still does some things without thinking. He always does.” She didn’t mention Liam’s wild past. “And with Yuri, I can see something in him. I thought he would never have.
