  “I will.” I trusted Sophie’s tarot cards with my life.

  “And make sure to bring back some good news.” She pulled away and winked, then disappeared into the crowd of well-wishers.

  That sounded promising. A southerly wind rushed around us and I looked at Damini. It was time.

  “Cover your eyes if you’re shy.”

  Shae and Zoe did so immediately, and Damini’s parents as well. Quick as we could, we stripped and shifted into our larger forms, bags strapped around our necks. She was just as gorgeous in that form as she was her human form.

  Shouts and cheers followed us as we spread our wings and took to the skies. Soon, we’d be on a beach in North Carolina, hopefully working on those babies.

  We were starting our forever where it had first been found.
