The voice of reason and experience is appreciated as we all take deep breaths, trying not to feel the pressure of what we’re doing.
Teller comes over, barking, wanting desperately to play.
“Not right now,” Bri picks him up. “Your mom and dad are trying to see if we’ll make enough money to keep you fed,” she kisses the top of his head, hugging him tightly.
He’s already growing, and I know it won’t be long until we can’t hold him like this anymore.
He barks with much more enthusiasm than the rest of us have.
“See he believes,” she laughs.
Alarms go off all around the place as it hits 8AM.
“Okay, okay, here we go,” RJ logs into the backend of our iTunes account. Something we’ve never been given access to before. It’s our sales in real-time.
Bri
The computer Everett and I are sitting at is logged into the backend of Amazon.
“Do you have the info of what our last album sold?” I ask Madison as I get ready to watch this like a hawk.
“Yes,” she hands me a paper with totals for first days sales on it divided by storefront and country. “And all of your auto posts are going live. Friends of yours are sharing it, and tagging you. This is going to work y’all.”
“They’re live,” Hannah announces. “I just bought both on iTunes.”
“And me on Amazon,” Garrett grins.
We refresh, anxiously awaiting to see if the number show up. When they do, a huge group cheer goes up.
“Holy fuck,” Everett whistles. “Already in the thousands on Amazon.”
“Same on iTunes.”
With tears in my eyes, I look around at the people who have become my family, holding onto Teller for dear life.
“Looks like I was right, huh?” He kisses my cheek.
Platinum is gonna look nice on our walls. That I’ll definitely have to agree with.
