A Time of Deceit: Revelation Page 5

by William Cushing

An alien craft would be used to get to North Canton. It could make the jump in minutes as opposed to hours for a conventional human aircraft. The craft was not designed to accommodate so many but there was no alternative. Time was running out.

The team packed themselves into the craft and tried to secure themselves as best they could. The shock that accompanied a short flight would give them all a jolt. They secured their equipment so it would not be damaged by the shock when the craft made the quick jump to North Canton. The craft made the jump and landed still cloaked about 300 yards north of the Ghoul’s northern perimeter. The arrival did not seem to be detected by the Ghouls.

The position on the north perimeter would allow the team to see when the technicians were coming. They had just left from the airport which was three to four miles north of the Leader and his team.

The Leader directed the team to approach the east perimeter and remain there for his orders. The guards disembarked and slowly made their way to an area that would allow them to breach the east perimeter when ordered.

The Leader still had to locate the Ghoul’s leader. His team had to have that information before they penetrated. A drone was dispatched to observe the Ghoul’s encampment. It didn’t take long before he found the Ghoul leader. He was in the middle of the encampment feasting on human body parts. He was larger than the other Ghouls. He was easy to spot. The Leader did not need any more information. He relayed the coordinates to the team. They confirmed receiving them. The drone would remain overhead to monitor the mission. The Ghoul count was approximately 20. The Leader knew that 100 technicians would not prevail over 20 Ghouls. But, he needed to eliminate the Ghoul leader before the underworld meeting. Sacrificing 100 technicians was a hard pill to swallow. He had no choice. He vowed to himself that he would avenge them. All ghouls have to be destroyed. They now represent a threat that cannot be tolerated.

The sound of a phalanx of vehicles approached. Regular cars and trucks. Each packed with technicians and equipment. The Leader could see them, so could the Ghouls. No element of surprise. The Leader thought to himself. “They are technicians not warriors. But still, they could have got out of the vehicles before they could have been seen and stealthily worked their way to the Ghoul encampment. He vowed that he would institute better training for his technicians in the future.”

The technicians approached the encampment and organized to attack along the western and northern perimeters of the encampment. The Ghouls did the same. But the Ghouls didn’t wait for the technicians to attack. They just charged forward. Their battle axes high. They were incredibly fast for their size. The technicians did not expect this. Before the technicians could return fire on the Ghouls they were involved in close quarter combat.

The Leader ordered his team in. The team responded. They had no interference. The Ghouls were totally focused on the technicians. They found the Ghoul leader not far from where they had been told he would be. He was still eating but also observing the carnage. The team did not hesitate. They couldn’t. The Ghoul leader was formidable. He could easily wipe out the entire team.

The team aimed and discharged their weapons at him. He fell forward stunned. The team continued discharging their weapons before approaching any further. The Ghoul leader was down but not out. Time was running out. They needed to end this before the other Ghouls noticed them and turned their attention to the team. The team leader decided to act and placed a weapon to the head of the Ghoul and discharged it. That worked. The Ghoul leader stiffened and then laid still. No other choice. He could not be taken alive. He was too big to carry back to the Leader. He contacted the Leader for instructions. The Leader told him what to do.

The team was able to work their way out of the encampment and make their way back to the craft without being detected. As they boarded the craft they wondered if the Leader would be satisfied with their work.

The Leader nodded to them as they boarded. He was satisfied. They were safe.

As the craft lifted off the ground. They could see the battle still going on. The technicians never stood a chance. Everybody on board had the same thought. “The Ghouls will pay.” They prepared themselves for the shock of the jump back.

  SCENE 22: FELDMAN'S PAYMENT

After Feldman had exited the Editor’s office, she waited a few minutes and opened a desk draw and pulled out a cell phone. It was a phone that was only used for a specific purpose. It did not use the normal cellular networks. It used a discrete government network that was not available too detection by others. The government intelligence services had developed this secretly. They needed a way to communicate that the aliens could not breach. There was a shadow group in the intelligence services that had been aware of the aliens’ presence and their efforts. They were constantly monitoring the aliens. Waiting for a time to strike. Now was not the time. Now was the time to mitigate the aliens’ efforts without them becoming aware.

The editor told the person on the other end what Feldman had wanted. She took photos of the file and transmitted them. The person on the other end didn’t hesitate. “Terminate immediately. A clean up team is being dispatched.” The quickness of the order startled the editor. Usually more time and inquiry would be required before an order to terminate an alien was issued.

That was the end of the call. The editor returned the phone to her desk draw. She was an intelligence officer who had spent years of training to develop the ability to shield her mind from the aliens’ mind control. The aliens were unaware of this skill. The intelligence community did not want them to find out.

Feldman had been under observation since he popped up. But today, he had gone too far. He had to be removed. What he wanted to do would certainly damage the present administration. But, they had to work quickly before any copy was produced by Feldman and given to his producer.

The editor reached into her handbag and pulled out a handgun. It was a unique gun. Made entirely out of plastic so it passed any normal security monitoring device. She also pulled out a plastic silencer and screwed it onto the barrel of the handgun. She placed the gun into a sleeve on her skirt that was designed specifically for this purpose, She calmly walked to Feldman’s office. Knocked on the door and entered.

Feldman was busily keying into his laptop. He didn’t look up. He made it easy for the editor. She closed the blinds to the glass panel facing the hallway that all the offices had. She reached into the sleeve in her skirt and pulled out the gun. Now she was right next to Feldman. He still did not acknowledge her presence. The gun was pointed at his head. A muffled shot and Feldman slumped forward. The editor took Feldman’s laptop. Hide her weapon. Locked the office door when she exited. She thought to herself. “The clean up team will take care of the rest.”

She was ecstatic. She enjoyed this part of her job. It thrilled her when she could eliminate an alien. She couldn’t wait to do it again.

Now she had to get Feldman’s laptop back to the agency. They would be eager to go through it.

  SCENE 23: ERADICATION PLAN

Upon returning to the office, after eliminating the Ghoul leader, Sara and the Leader had to figure out what they were going to do to lessen the damage that the North Canton incident had produced. The Ghouls had eliminated almost all humans in the encampment. There were still the bodies of his technicians. The Ghouls, upon finding what remained of their leader’s body, left and returned to their underworld home. Without a leader, they did not know what else to do.

The bodies of the Leader’s technicians and the remains of humans were still at the site. That had to be cleaned up. The leader dispatched clean up teams. They would remove all alien and human tissue that remained.

200 technicians would be dispatched to erase any existing memories that any surviving humans had. Since the Ghoul threat was now over, they would be able to proceed in an orderly fashion. The Leader wanted that done as quickly as possible. They couldn’t keep a lid on this much longer.

The media had been directed to ignore a
ny stories they heard from North Canton. The aliens controlled the media. The media would write or broadcast only what they were told. The genius of gaining control of the media was instrumental in the success of the aliens to continue to control the human species. The humans were easily influenced. They could be pitted against each other by releasing media reports that were designed to foment chaos. The advent of social media made it even easier. Social media was just another media vehicle which the aliens had created. The aliens used it to their advantage. The aliens, through the media, kept humans at each others’ throats. They had no time or energy left to consider that they were being manipulated and controlled.

Leader. “Lets get ready for the meeting at the Queen’s palace.”

Sara. “We have to prepare our arguments to support the continuance of the Alliance. We have to prepare for the contingency that they refuse to continue the Alliance. And if that is the case, we have to plan for our safe exit and departure from the meeting.”

Sara. “You think they would not support continuing the Alliance?”

Leader. “It is a possibility. Things are changing. I feel that we are losing control.”

Sara. “How can that be? We have maintained control for a thousand years.”

Leader. “Correct. But we had never in all that time compromised the Alliance. Now, I find that our Board has acted in a unilateral manner that has produced a fracture in our ability to control. The question is: Can it be repaired before it fractures further?”

  Sara. “We must succeed.”

Leader. “Of course. But what is the best path to go down?”

Sara. “Show the Board who has the power.”

Leader. “Yes, that must be done. But, only after the meeting.”

  Sara. “Destroy the Ghouls.”

Leader. “Correct. But there is not enough time to do that before the meeting.”

  Sara. “Destroy the underworld leadership.”

Leader. “Correct. You are doing well.”

Sara. “So, we should strike at the meeting?”

Leader. “No. They will be expecting that.”

  Sara. “How then?”

Leader. “Think. You were doing so well. Just think about it. When will each leader be most vulnerable?”

Sara. “Oh. On their return journeys from the meeting.”

Leader. “Correct. Their guard will be down. Particularly, If they view the meeting has ended in their favor.”

Sara. “Not much time to plan. Execution will have to be flawless.”

Leader. “Then let's get to work. ”

Sara. “How do you kill a Fairy? An Elemental? They are spirits. I am not sure they can be killed. Certainly, I do not know how to kill them.”

Leader. “Neither do I. We have to figure that out. We do know how to kill Jinns, Orcs, Lycanthropes, Vampires and Dwarfs. So let's concentrate on these leaders first. If we don’t succeed with the Fairies and Elementals, the death of the others will be a message that they cannot ignore.”

Sara. “We can let them think we spared them.”

  Leader. “Yes. Deception may work.”

Sara. “The underworld leaders are all on their way to the meeting by now. The Orcs and Jinns favor traveling by horse. The Dwarfs travel by wagon. The Lycanthropes will simply revert to their wolf forms and run to the Queen’s palace. They will probably take the same routes back after the meeting. So, I guess we have to send up cloaked aircraft to track their movements and reverse them for our attacks.”

Leader. “Good. Get on it immediately. I want to have a plan finalized tonight.”

  SCENE 24: CONFIRMATION

It has been a cold and wet winter in the Midatlantic. Washington, D.C. had not been spared. Tonight it was colder than normal. Dick and Tom, after sitting in their car all night, were looking forward to having breakfast and a warm coffee. The bourbon that keep them company during the night did not seem to warm them up. Nothing out of the ordinary had been happening during their stake out on Higby’s D.C. residence. It was 4:00 am and they were getting ready to find a Denny’s.

Tom. “A vehicle just pulled into Higby’s driveway.”

  Dick. “Camera ready?”

  Tom. “Yes.”

  Dick. “Night telephoto lens?”

  Tom. “Duh, of course.”

  Dick. “Funny.”

Higby’s vehicle pulled into the driveway and Luther exited to open the rear door. Higby got out. He looked just like his alien form in the video. He didn’t stop and walked directly into his house. The driver then reached into and helped out two naked women. They didn’t seem to mind that they were naked. He accompanied them into the house.

  Dick. “Did you get that?”

  Tom. “Yes.”

  Dick. “Confirms the video."

  Tom. "Correct.”

Dick. “Breakfast time. We accomplished our task.”

  Tom. “More intel on Higby.”

Dick. “Did you notice the females. They didn’t seem to be totally aware of things.”

Tom. “Yeah. Most people don’t like to walk around outside naked in the cold. Strange. Unless they were pros. But even pros don’t walk around outside completely naked.”

Dick. “We have to talk to Higby’s ex-wife.”

Tom. “I know. But, she hasn’t returned my latest call.”

Dick. “Call her again. Tell her it is very important.”

Tom. “So we now know we have at least one non-earthly alien in the U.S. Congress. We can surmise that there are more in our government.”

  Dick. “And where else?”

Tom. “How do we handle this from here?”

Dick. “We need help. Let’s talk to Bill.”

  Tom. “After we eat.”

Dick. “Want another shot of bourbon before we go.”

Tom. “Of course. Celebrate a job well done.”

SCENE 25: CIA, FBI AND SECRET SERVICE

Bill’s barn had not gotten warmer. It seemed that the colder it got outside, the more the barn embraced the cold. Tonight it was unbearable.

Dick. “Bill, why don’t you get a heater for our meetings here?”

  Tom. “Yeah.”

Bill. “You can get one. I am comfortable enough. Anyway, the colder it is here, the quicker are discussions will be.”

Dick. “If I could talk. My mouth is frozen.”

Tom. “Finally. A good reason not to have a heater.”

Bill. “Funny. All right, let's get to work.”

Tom. “Have you looked at the video from Higby’s place?”

  Bill. “Yes.”

Dick. “What do you think we should do?”

Bill. “This is above our pay grade. Beyond our scope to handle. So, I made a call to an old friend. He came out immediately and I shared our information on Higby with him.”

Tom. “You would not have contacted him unless you knew he was reliable, correct?”

Bill. “Of course. We went to college together. I went to med school, he went to law school.”

  Dick. “So?”

Bill. “He is an FBI agent now.”

Tom. “So, what did he say?”

Bill. “Nothing. Looked at the information, took a copy of everything and said he would return tonight to talk to you two.”

  Tom.”You have confidence in him?”

  Bill. Yes, totally.”

Dick. “I hope so. I don’t want to get killed tonight.”

  Tom. “Ditto.”

Just then the intercom from the gate entrance elicited. “Bill, open the gate. It is Jack.”

They all looked at the security screen and saw not one vehicle, but four black SUVs.”

Bill slowly got up and went over to press the gate release. The gate opened slowly and the four vehicles drove in and up to the barn.”

Bill. “Let’s go out and meet them.”

The three men walked out the barn door and stopped in their tracks. The vehicles had emptied and were surrounded by eight men, dressed in military fatigue
s and armed with weapons. Jack and two other men were casually walking to the barn.

Bill. “More than I expected, Jack.”

  Jack. “Necessary.”

  Bill. “Inside then.”

The six men disappeared into the barn while the guards placed themselves around the barn.

Bill. “Need a couple of more chairs. It will just take a minute.”

Jack. “First, let me introduce my companions. This is Winston Lewis. He is with the Secret Service. This is Mike Malone. He is with the CIA. What you gave me has great significance.”

Bill, Tom and Dick each nodded and said “Hi.”

Bill got a couple of additional chairs and placed them around the beat up oak table.

Winston. “Jack got us up to speed on how and why you got this information. I don’t know if you are brave or just foolish.”

  Tom. “Probably, foolish.”

Winston. “Good to hear. Brave always seems to get into trouble.”

Dick. “We are good at that also.”

  Winston. “That’s not good.”

  Dick. “No?”

Winston. “First. Nothing said here can be repeated. Understand?”

Bill, looking at Tom and Dick who nodded, said “Agreed.”

Winston. “Good. The video of Higby’s place was significant. One of our agents disappeared without a trace a couple of weeks ago. She was recognized in the video you took at Higby’s residence. The behavior was atypical for her. ”
