I roll my eyes. “Seventeen is hardly a child, Jaxon. And I’m sorry I flirted with you and made things harder for you. I didn’t realize until you kissed me that you were having such a hard time with your feelings for me.”
“This doesn’t change anything, though. We can’t... I mean, as far as everybody else is concerned, you’re a seventeen-year-old student,” he says. “And I’m your teacher.”
“And you’re worried people will hear me screaming your name from my dorm room while you’re fucking me?”
He coughs. “Geez, Brooklyn. You are so blunt.”
I shrug. “I’m not scared of sex.”
“Because your parents damaged you. They made you feel like sex is a tool, when it’s not. Sex is personal and it should be sacred, with somebody you love, or at least somebody you like.”
I shrug. “I do like you. Does that count?”
He shakes his head. “No. Because I don’t have sex with people who just like me. In fact, I will only have sex with you if you’re in love with me.”
My mouth falls open. “But...”
Jaxon smiles widely. “I’ll see you in history, Brooklyn.”
I am going to kill him.
Literally.
He knows the truth and he just walks away. This hardly seems fair at all.
But if Jaxon Duran wants to play games, then I’ll play.
Somebody should warn him that I never lose.

I can never leave Spy School for long.
What can I say? This school has my heart.
I’m so glad to bring you Brooklyn’s story. I am also excited that this Spy School is a little more mature than my other Spy School books. It’s fun to get inside the head of an agent that has already graduated instead of people who are just learning and training. I also love that the main character is older. It’s nice not to be limited by her age.
Also… can I just say… I am SO GLAD that I finally get to give Jaxon a story. I considered writing him a stand alone, but let’s be honest: one book with Jaxon just isn’t enough, so we’re getting five!
Buckle in, this is going to be a fun ride!
