Daddy's Little Angel Page 6

“No, I don’t like my little girl to look like a streetwalker.”

  Larkin gasped. “I do not.”

Gage nodded. “Darian’s right, but were not going to worry about it right now. We have got somewhere to be.”

Eve stood and fidgeted nervously when she still didn’t see Patrick.

  “What should I do?”

Darian cupped her chin. “You look beautiful, sweetheart. They did a good job with your hair.”

  “Where’s Patrick?”

Darian and Gage glanced at each other. “He’s in a meeting, so we said we’d bring you with us.”

“Oh, okay,” she said and tried not to sound disappointed.

“Let’s go,” Gage said and held the door open for them all.

The girls sat in the back seat while the two men drove up front.

“Where are we going, daddy?” Brylee asked.

  “We’re going to meet someone.”

  “Who?”

Gage smirked at her over his shoulder. “You’ll find out.” His grin grew when Brylee pouted and tried to look mad.

  “Give it up, baby girl.”

Brylee nudged Larkin in the side with her elbow when her friend giggled.

Eve stared out the window and watched the buildings and people go by. They pulled up to a humungous glass building, and the men got out and opened their doors.

  “This way, girls,” Darian said.

Eve stiffened when she noticed the two bodyguards park behind them, get out of the car, and hurry toward them.

The seven of them took the elevator up to the top floor and down a long hallway.

Eve gripped Larkin’s hand, getting more nervous as the seconds passed.

Gage opened a door and ushered the group in. Eve caught sight of Patrick and a few other people across the room. Her stomach knotted when he glanced at her and scowled before turning back to the people.

Darian sat Larkin and Brylee by the window at a small table and told them to stay seated before he and Gage went over to Patrick.

Eve stayed by the door. She heard them talking but could tell they didn’t want her to hear. She looked at the girls and then the door. Her need to flee was gaining strength. She took a few sliding steps toward it but froze when it opened and her mother walked in.

The two women stared at each other in shock.

Eve studied her mother. Although she had aged, she was still beautiful, and her eyes still held the gentle, caring emotions.

  “Eve…” Trisha reached out.

Eve stepped back and then stopped. Tears filled her mother’s eyes. Eve looked around, desperately needing Patrick to be with her, but he stayed across the room with his arms crossed and a hard look on his face.

She inhaled sharply and turned back to her mother. “Hi, Mama.”

“May I … can, I hug you, sweetheart? It’s been so long.”

Eve nodded and then flinched when her mother wrapped her arms around her. She lifted her own arms but just set them on her mother’s back. She didn’t understand why she wasn’t more excited. She’d dreamed of seeing her for years, and she stood in front of her that moment. Now that she had her mother, she was terrified for some reason.

Trisha moved back and wiped her eyes. “I know we have a lot to talk about.”

  “I … yes, I suppose.”

“The men have been wonderful to me. I have a place to live and a new job. Both secure enough to keep me safe from your father.”

“Did he harm you?” Eve asked, concerned.

“He tried, but a man intervened and then brought me here.”

Eve nodded. She looked around again and saw that Gage and Darian had taken the girls out of the room, and she, her mother, and Patrick were the only ones left.

“There’s an extra bedroom if you’d like to stay with me.”

Eve bit her lip. She wanted to yell no, but with the way Patrick was acting, it might be her only option. “I…”

“She’ll be with me,” Patrick said gruffly.

Trisha glanced at him and nodded. “It’s probably for the best. You can protect her better than I can.”

“I think we should plan another time to get together,” Patrick said. “You need to get settled, and Eve looks exhausted.”

“I’d like that,” Trisha said and smiled at Eve. She hugged her again and then turned to the door. “I’m so glad I finally got to talk to you. I hope to see you soon, sweetheart.”

Eve couldn’t get any words past her tight throat, so she stayed quiet. A long moment passed after the door closed before she turned to face Patrick.

A slight trembling started in her hands and moved outward. The man she’d already partially fallen in love with stood cold across the room and didn’t attempt to come to her. He’d said she was going with him, but he didn’t sound happy about it.

  “Listen, I … think … I can make other arrangements…”

Patrick’s scowl darkened as he made his way to her. He gripped her upper arm and started pulling her out of the room. They were both silent as they made their way outside to the car. On the way back to Patrick’s, Eve sat silently, not sure what to say. She desperately wanted him to say something to her. She became more depressed as the miles passed.

She tore from the car the second they pulled into the garage and raced up to her room. She ignored all the boxes and bags from the department store website they’d bought clothes at the day before. After she crawled into the closet to the way back, she pulled her knees to her chest, laid her head on them, and cried.

Sobs ripped from her until she was gasping to breathe. She balled her hands tightly, puncturing her palms with her nails.

“Eve,” Patrick yelled out in the hallway.

She made herself smaller and tried to be as quiet as she could. She jerked when her bedroom door was thrown open.

  “Eve, goddammit, where are you?”

She whimpered as her body started to shake uncontrollably.

  Chapter Fourteen

He opened the closet door. The breath caught in his throat at the sight of Eve huddling in the corner like a beaten animal.

She flinched when he took a step toward her and stopped. He crouched down and rubbed a hand down his face. He knew he was mostly to cause for her upset at the moment. How could he explain the terror he’d felt when he witnessed Eve and her mother together? He felt the life he’d dreamed of with Eve was sliding away.

He knew Eve looked to him for support, but he couldn’t make his legs move. He guessed if he got close enough, he’d snatch Eve up and run with her. Instead, he’d fucked up and hurt his girl.

  “I…” he started to say.

“I want to go…” Eve interrupted. “I don’t want you to be uncomfortable and feel like you have to take care of me. I can be with my mom until I figure out what I want to do.”

He cursed savagely, making her flinch again.

“I don’t know how to explain the way I feel…”

“You don’t have to,” Eve said.

“If you interrupt me one more time, I’m going to spank your ass red,” he said with a growl.

She gasped and stared at him like he’d gone mad.

He sighed. “I thought the second you saw your mother, you’d walk away from me.”

She opened her mouth but slammed it shut when he growled.

“The fear started last night and just got worse as the hours ticked by. I just about lost it at the day spa when Darian told me he would have your mother waiting for you at the office. I wanted to snatch you up and run. That’s why I wasn’t there to pick you up. I knew I’d just keep driving.”

  Eve reached out a hand.

Patrick grabbed it, sat, and pulled her into his lap. He wiped the tears from her face with his thumb. “I’m so sorry I hurt you, baby girl. I let my fear of losing you blind me to the fact you needed me. It will never happen again.” Several moments passed. “Aren’t you going to say anything?”

She tipped her head back. “I’m a
fraid to. I don’t want to get spanked.”

He snorted and then lowered his head to take her lips.

She tightened her arms around his neck and opened herself up to him.

He lifted his head and groaned at the desire-filled look on her face and her red puffy lips.

“Will you make love to me, da … daddy?”

His eyes closed as if he were in pain. “Oh, hell,” he murmured.

“Is it okay to call you that?”

“Hell, yeah.” Patrick gritted his teeth as a wave of need so intense raced through him. He lifted her high against his chest, stood, and walked them into his bedroom, slamming the door closed behind them with his foot before laying her on his bed.

He stripped her quickly before tearing at his own clothes.

“If you want to change your mind, this is the time to do it,” he cautioned.

Eve’s stare roamed all over him before going back to his face, and then she shook her head. She held her arms out and waited.

He groaned and fell on top of her on the bed, being careful to keep most of his weight on his arms. He pressed hard kisses to her lips until they were red and swollen before moving lower and taking first one and then the other nipple into his mouth and sucked firmly.

He slid one hand down between them and speared his finger between her pussy lips, making her squeak. He thrust one finger into her, being careful not to break through her hymen.

“This is what my cock is going to feel like fucking your cunt, baby. Only better. It will hurt to get it in you the first time, but after that, you’ll beg me to fuck you all the time.”

She whimpered as she clutched his shoulders, digging in her nails. “Please.”

He lifted his head. “What, baby girl? You want your daddy to fuck this little cunt?”

  “Yes. Please, daddy,” she begged.

He switched his one finger with two, stretching her tight cunt. “Soon, baby, you’re just about ready.”

He slipped his fingers out of her, brought them to his mouth, and sucked them clean. “Jesus, baby, you’re an addiction.”

He spread her legs and made a place between her thighs. He adjusted his cock until the tip was lined up with her pussy.

He looked down at her. “I want you to say, ‘Daddy, please fuck me.’ Can you do that?”

She nodded. “Please, daddy. Please f … fuck me.”

“Hang on to me,” he said. The moment he felt her hands on his shoulders, he thrust into her, taking her cherry in one quick move, hoping it would be easier on her. He stayed frozen inside her as she tried to dislodge his body.

“No, Daddy. It hurts. Stop,” she cried out as tears rolled down her temples and into her hair.

“Shh, baby. It’s going to be fine. I promise. Just give it a minute. Trust me. The pain will go away shortly, and you’ll never feel this way again.”

Eve sniffed and nodded. After a few minutes, she slowly relaxed under him.

He knew it wouldn’t long before the pain receded, and the heat started to build inside of her again.

“How are you doing?” he asked her.

“I’m better,” she said and sniffed.

“Let’s try it.” Patrick slowly pulled out and pushed back in. “How’s that feel, baby?”

She hummed, nodded, and kept her gaze on his.

“More?” he asked and smiled when she nodded vigorously.

He picked up his pace and was soon thrusting powerfully inside her. He knew she was close when she tightened on him, making it almost impossible to move inside her.

He reached between them and pressed on her clit, pushing her over instantly. He followed a second later, draining his balls into her sweet cunt. His head dropped onto her shoulder as they both fought to calm their breathing.

He pulled out and slid to the side of her, tucking her tightly against his chest.

“Eve, baby, I should have warned you before. Now that you’ve given yourself to me, that’s it. You will never leave me.”

She looked up at him. “But I don’t want to leave.”

“Good. The fact we might have just made a baby compounds it.”

  “A baby?”

“Yeah, I didn’t use a condom, and I’d guess you weren’t on anything.”

  She shook her head.

“We need to talk and decide if we want kids now or wait a bit.”

Tears burned Eve’s eyes. “I always dreamed of having my own family. I just never thought it would happen.”

“Well, it will happen,” he said and grinned. “And it’s only going to get better.”

She smiled brightly. “I love you, daddy.”

He kissed her forehead. “I love you, too, baby.”

They rested for a moment before Patrick stirred.

“Let’s get in the tub. It will help with any soreness.”

  ****

She screeched when Patrick picked her up and tossed her over his shoulder in a fireman’s hold.

  “What are you doing?”

  He chuckled. “Carrying you.”

“Daddy…” she yelled when he smacked her ass.

He set her on her feet and started the water in the tub.

  “Use the toilet, baby.”

She looked at the piece of porcelain then to Patrick and turned bright red. “With you in the room?”

He chuckled. “Yes. There’s nothing we’ll hide from each other.”

She staggered in and sat down on the cold seat. She tried, but the pee wouldn’t come. “I can’t.”

He snorted and left the room. She immediately was able to release the stream of urine and squeezed her eyes shut when Patrick strode back in before she was finished. She wiped quickly and was stunned by the blood on the tissue.

  “I’m bleeding.”

“It’s normal to bleed the first time, baby. It will be fine. The bath will help.” Patrick turned off the water and threw in some soothing bath salts.

She flushed and walked to Patrick. He stepped into the tub, sat, and then helped her in to sit in front of him and between his legs. Right away, the warmth of the water started to ease what little soreness she had.

He picked up a washcloth and added bath soap. He slid the cloth over her whole body, gently messaging her shoulders and hips and paying particular attention to her pussy and nipples.

When he was done with her, he quickly washed himself.

She closed her eyes and relaxed back against him. She’d never felt so cared for and knew she could get used to it very easily.

They soaked for over twenty minutes and only got out because the water cooled. Then they rinsed and stood. Patrick helped her out and stood on the bathmat while he dried her. He pulled on a sundress over her head and then shorts and a t-shirt for him.

  “I bet dinner’s about ready.”

  “Good, I’m hungry,” Eve commented.

“I think we both worked up an appetite.”

She felt a blush overtake her face. She didn’t know if she’d ever get used to his teasing, but she also didn’t want him to stop.

  Chapter Fifteen

They walked hand and hand down the steps. They were about at the bottom when the doorbell rang.

Eve waited on the last step while Patrick opened the door. Her stomach twisted painfully when she heard her father’s voice.

  “Where’s my daughter?”

“You must be Reverend Morton Sherman.”

“Yes, and I want my daughter back.”

  “That won’t ever happen.”

  “You bastard,” her father hissed.

“Tsk, is that any way for a religious man to talk?” Patrick chided.

“You had no right to take her.”

Eve took a few steps and slid her hand into Patrick’s.

  “Hello, Father.”

Morton’s eyes widened, and then his face darkened. “Get your ass in the car, right now.”

She shook her head. She felt her insides shake but took strength by Patrick beside her and squeezi
ng her hand.

“No, I left you a note. It’s time for me to move on.”

“You would have never moved on your own. You’re too weak-willed.”

“Whose fault is that?’ Patrick asked.

“Listen, my daughter is engaged to be married…”

She gasped. “What? To who?” She felt Patrick stiffen beside her.

  “Jerald,” her father said.

A grimace of disgust crossed her face, and nausea filled her throat. Jerald was the junior pastor at her father’s church, but the man was a pig. Eve could always feel his slimy stare on her as they followed her. She’d heard a few of the women in the congregation complain about him touching them inappropriately.

“There’s no way in hell I’d ever marry that man. He’s a pervert, and you can’t make me.”

“She’s right. Besides, she is marrying me,” Patrick informed him and smiled down at her.

“Just wait,” he threatened. “You both will regret messing with me.”

Patrick kissed Eve’s knuckles. “Go on into the kitchen I’ll be right there.”

  “But…”

“It’s all right. Your father and I are going to talk.”

She nodded, turned, and walked away without looking at her father. She hoped she never had to see him again in her life but doubted she’d get that dream.

She stood just inside the doorway to the kitchen and listened to the deep, angry voices. It wasn’t long before she heard the front door close. She moved away from the kitchen door and Patrick came through a moment later. He pulled her into his arms and she sighed.

  “Are you all right?”

She nodded against his chest. “He’s going to make trouble, isn’t he?”

  “God, I hope so.”

Eve’s gaze jerked to his face. She couldn’t believe the grin that was present and the eagerness in his gaze.

  “What if he hurts you?”

He squeezed her. “Not going to happen. I don’t want you to worry about him anymore. I’m taking steps to protect you.”

  “But…”

“No buts. Trust me to take care of you.”

  She exhaled. “I do.”

“Good. Now let’s eat. I smell something good,” Patrick said and pulled her through the kitchen, waved to Agnes, and sat them at the table.
