After dinner, they watched a movie before bedtime.
He turned off the TV and pulled Eve up beside him.
“Why don’t you go get ready for bed? I’ll be up shortly. I also want you to be in my bed from now on.”
Her heart lurched in her chest. She also wanted that. In fact, she didn’t want to go a minute without being near him.
****
Eve nodded and walked out of the room. Patrick made sure she was up in the bedroom before he dialed Darian.
“He was here.”
“What happened?” Darian asked.
“He told us she was engaged.”
“Shit.”
“She isn’t. She was totally shocked, and then when her father told her the name of her fiancé, she looked like she was going to puke. Can you have someone check into his assistant pastor, Jerald? I’ll get more information from her, but from the way she acted, there’s something slimy about the man she’s supposedly going to marry, and she called him a pervert.”
“On it. I’ve got a suggestion,” Darian said.
“I’ll take it.”
“I’d say marry her as soon as possible, and that way, he has no leg to stand on. I know there’s probably nothing he can do since she’s an adult, but I wouldn’t take the chance. Since he’s her next of kin, he can go through a court and get her charged as mentally incompetent or something.”
Patrick thought about the idea.
“Unless you aren’t ready for that or aren’t sure she’s the one.”
“Oh, she’s the one, and I’m defiantly ready. I’m just a little nervous she’ll say no.”
“Hey, it’s worth a try. If she’s determined to have a wedding, you guys can have one later.”
“Good idea. I’ll talk it over with her.”
“If she says yes, I can get the paperwork run through and have you married by tomorrow late morning.”
Patrick laughed. “Of course, you can.” Darian knew a lot of people in high places and could get about anything done.
“I know a judge who’s an old family friend.”
“Call him and make the arrangements. We can always cancel if she’s totally against it, but I’d like to be ready to go in the morning.”
“I’ll call him right now. Then I’ll call you in the morning with the specifics. We can have Larkin and Brylee there to stand up with her and go out to a restaurant after to celebrate. We’ll make it special.”
“Great. Talk to you tomorrow. Night.”
Patrick made his way up the stairs after making sure the security alarm was on. Even though the bedroom was shrouded in shadows, he was able to see her in the middle of the bed facing him.
He brushed his teeth and shed his clothes. Then he slid into bed beside her and pulled her into his arms.
“Are you sleepy?”
Eve nodded as she trailed her fingertips over his chest. “A bit.”
“I want to ask you…”
She looked up at him with a concerned look on her face at the worried tone of his voice.
“What?”
“I wanted my idea to happen when you were ready, but now I’d like to get you protected in all the ways I can.”
“I’ll do whatever you think is best,” Eve said.
“I want us to get married tomorrow.”
She gasped and levered herself up onto her elbow so she could see his face clearly.
“Married?”
“Yes. We can always have a real wedding down the road if you want, but I want it on paper that you’re my wife, and no one can try to take you from me.”
“Are you sure this is what you want?” she asked.
“Absolutely.”
She looked down. After a long moment, she looked back at him and nodded. “Yes, I’ll marry you.”
Patrick exhaled in relief, speared his fingers through her hair, and pulled her face down to his. He kissed her with all the emotion he felt. He drew her away, pushed her head to his chest, and wrapped an arm around her. “I’m so happy.”
“I am, too. I’m just worried it’s happening too fast and you’ll end up regretting it.”
“We’re going to be fine, baby.”
“I know, daddy.”
“Two more things before we go to sleep. One, the nightgown has to go. You will never wear one again with me. I want to feel your skin against mine.”
“And two?”
“I think your hair is beautiful. I didn’t get a chance to tell you earlier because I was being a pansy-ass.”
She giggled. “Thank you. I’ll keep going back every six weeks to even it out until it’s grown out. Thankfully, my hair grows fast.”
“I can’t wait to see it long. Larkin and Brylee were talking about how beautiful it was in high school.”
“I thought it was the only thing attractive about me.”
He cupped her cheek. “No, everything about you is gorgeous. I wouldn’t change a thing about you.”
She smiled, sat up, and ripped the nightgown over her head. Then she lay back down in his arms.
He kissed her tenderly. “Good night, love.”
“Good night, daddy.”
Chapter Sixteen
Eve walked out of her closet, where her new clothes filled the bars and shelves, wearing the closest thing she had to a wedding gown. It was very pretty. It was a lacy white sundress that fit her perfectly. It had cap sleeves, and it stopped a few inches above her knees. She wore a pair of new white sandals with it.
Her thoughts went to her mother. She wondered if she should have asked Patrick to invite her mother to the wedding, but she didn’t even know if she wanted her to be there. She was so incredibly uncomfortable, and she knew with time, it would settle. So many things had happened so quickly. It was taking her a bit to catch up.
She just didn’t want anything to ruin the day for her, and she was afraid she’d feel so self-conscious with her mother there.
Then she wondered if she was being a terrible daughter. She needed to take this one day at a time for now and just hoped her mother understood.
She combed her hair and curled it the way the woman the day before taught her, and then she added a light-pink lip gloss.
“Holy shit.”
She spun around to see Patrick in a nice black suit and white shirt, staring at her from the bathroom doorway.
“You look so beautiful, baby.”
She smiled and moved into his open arms. “You’re the most handsome man I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Patrick grinned. He pressed a tender kiss to her lips. “Are you ready?”
“Yes.”
He walked her down the steps and into the kitchen.
Agnes came forward and hugged Eve. “I’m so happy.”
“Are you coming with us?” Eve asked.
“No, dear. I want to stay here and make something special for your dinner tonight.”
Eve’s eyes teared up. “That’s so nice. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome, child. Now go. You can’t be late to your own wedding.”
The three laughed.
He got her settled into the car. They were quiet on the way to the courthouse, but Patrick never released her hand.
He got them into the courthouse and gave their name to the receptionist.
“This way. The judge is waiting for you in his chambers.”
“You ready?” Patrick asked her.
She nodded. “Yes.” Eve gasped when they stepped through the door. Her friends and their men, beside an older man she didn’t know, stood waiting for them.
She was engulfed in her friends’ arms, and they all spoke at once.
“I’m so happy you guys are here,” Eve told them, trying to hold back her tears.
“We would have never missed it,” Brylee said. “We brought a few things with us. Do you mind if we decorate your hair?”
She shook her head and stood still as the girls wove delicate white flowers in her hair.
“Perfect,” Lark
in declared as she stepped back. Larkin turned and grabbed something. “Here, we had a florist quickly make up a bouquet this morning for you.”
Eve’s eyes teared. “You guys. This is perfect. Thank you so much.”
Patrick held out his hand. “Come on, baby.”
She walked to his side and took his hand.
“Dearly beloved…” the judge started.
Within a few minutes, the ceremony was over, and they were married. All that had to be done was sign the papers to make it official.
She shook the judge’s hands and went to stand by her friends while the men talked.
“Let me see the ring,” Larkin said.
Eve held out her hand and showed them the band of white gold with diamonds wrapped around it. It fit her perfectly, and she wouldn’t have asked for anything else. Her hands were too small for a big ring. Patrick got a simple white gold band without the diamonds. She didn’t know how he’d done it all so quickly, but she wasn’t going to complain.
“It’s beautiful,” Brylee said.
“I love it,” Larkin gushed.
Patrick came to her and wrapped an arm around her waist.
Several pictures were taken of the couple and then the whole group.
He kissed her tenderly. “We’re going to go out for brunch to celebrate. Darian got us into a private room at the Forrester’s.
Eve grinned when the other two girls squealed.
“You’ll love it. They make the best food,” Larkin told her.
The group left the courthouse and filed into three different cars. Eve noted two other vehicles besides their three. One in front of the row of cars and one in back with burly men she assumed were bodyguards.
At the restaurant, the owner himself came out to greet them and congratulate the couple.
She couldn’t stop smiling. She couldn’t remember being so happy before in her life.
The menu was already set. They started with tasty omelets, followed by shrimp and lobster in a butter sauce, and then a small filet smothered in mushrooms. A cake was brought out, and the couple cut it together, feeding each other a bite.
More pictures were taken, and she couldn’t wait to see how they turned out.
They stayed and celebrated for a few hours until it was time to go.
At the curb, the girls hugged and congratulated Eve and then said good-bye.
Eve let Patrick help her into the car. She watched him come around as she leaned against the seat and sighed.
Patrick grinned at her and took her hand. “Are you happy, baby?”
She turned his way. “Very. How about you?”
He kissed her knuckles. “I couldn’t be happier.”
The drive home was spent talking about different things they wanted to do. She relaxed when he pulled into the garage and shut the door. He helped her out of the car.
Agnes cried out and rushed to them when they came into the kitchen. She enfolded Eve in her arms.
“Congratulations, child. I am so happy for both of you.”
Eve squeezed her as tears came to her eyes. “Thank you.”
He kept his arm around her and grinned. “I’m going to take her up and lay down for a bit.”
“I’ll have dinner ready at six,” Agnes informed them.
He stopped at the stairs. “Go on up. I’ll be right there after I check my messages.”
She went up on her tiptoes and kissed him before making her way up the steps.
****
He sat down at his desk. He’d only gotten halfway through his messages when someone knocked on his office door.
“Come in,” he called out.
Agnes stuck her head in. “Sir, there are some police officers here to talk to you.”
He stood with a frown then walked out into the foyer where the men stood. “Officers, what can I help you with?” he asked and shook their hands.
“We’ve been told you are holding a girl here against her will.”
He grinned. “Let me guess, a Reverend Morton Sherman?”
The two officers glanced at each other. “Yes, sir.”
“What do you need from me?” Patrick smiled and crossed his arms over his chest.
“We need to speak to the woman. Alone.”
He nodded. “You can use my office.” He turned to see Agnes in the hallway. “Will you go get Eve, please?”
Agnes hurried up the stairs.
Within a minute, Eve was walking down, still in her outfit from the morning, and holding onto the railing. She walked to Patrick and gripped his hand.
“Hello,” she said to the officers.
“Hello, Miss Sherman…”
He cleared his throat. “It’s actually Mrs. Harrington.”
Both officers looked shocked.
“May we have a moment of your time?” one of them asked Eve.
“Of course.”
“Use my office, baby,” he said and bent and kissed her.
Chapter Seventeen
She nodded and moved into the office, followed by the officers. She turned when the door closed behind them.
“Why are you here?” she asked.
“Your father is complaining that you’ve been abducted and are being held against your will.”
She laughed. “Ahh.” She crossed her arms. “It’s not true, gentlemen.”
“If you indicate with a nod of your head, we’ll take that to mean you do not want to be here,” one of them murmured softly so only she could hear.
She smiled. “I do want to be here. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be than with my husband. My father is delusional. He is the one who kept me with him long after I was an adult. He had me thinking something was wrong with me. I did everything for the man, even rubbed his feet when he told me to. He’s only upset that his slave has been taken from him.”
“He did seem like a rigid man,” one of the officers commented.
“Oh, he is. When you go back to him, please inform him I am a married woman, that I will never go back to him, and I never wish to see him ever again.”
One of the officers nodded and smiled. “We will be happy to do that for you.”
She walked to the door, opened it, and went directly to Patrick, who stood leaning against the railing.
“Everything okay?” he asked and wrapped an arm around her waist.
She nodded. “I think so,” she said and smiled.
He shook hands with the officers. “Thank you for checking on her.”
“Thank you for letting us talk to her without a fuss,” one of them said.
He closed the front door behind them and turned to Eve. He grinned at the smile on her face. “Happy, Mrs. Harrington?”
“Very, Mr. Harrington.”
He took a step toward her and growled. “That’s daddy to you, baby girl.”
She covered her mouth and giggled. She shrieked and raced up the steps when he came for her.
He grinned and took off after her. She made it to the bedroom a step before him. He slammed the door and dove for her. She tried to jerk away from him, but she was laughing too hard and collapsed on the mattress.
“Now I’ve got you.” Patrick dug his fingers into her sides.
Eve shrieked as she tried to wiggle away from him.
Patrick grinned and started pulling off her clothes. He bent and kissed her long and hard and let his hands and lips build her need to a fever pitch.
“Daddy, please.”
“I’ll know when you’re prepared for what I need from you.”
“But I’m already there,” she whimpered.
“For what I have in mind, you will need to be ready.”
“What are you talking about?” she asked with interest.
He shook his head. “I need to be in your tight ass. I need to know all of you belongs to me.”
She froze and looked up at him in shock. “You can really do that?”
He laughed at her shock. “Oh, yeah, and I guarantee you’re going to love it.”
>
Eve’s stomach tightened in apprehension. “What if it hurts too much?”
“If I do it the right way, it won’t, but if you end up hating it, we won’t do it again.”
“Why are you smiling, daddy?” she asked suspiciously.
“Because I’m going to do it so right, you’ll be begging me to butt fuck you all the time.”
She snorted then lay still as Patrick shed his clothes. Every inch of his body was a work of art. She licked her lips at the memory of his salty, woodsy taste.
He came down on top of her and started kissing her. He kissed her until she was breathless before moving down her body. He sucked on her nipples for a bit and then moved to her cunt.
“Daddy,” she shrieked at the first swipe of his tongue.
“Mmmm. Hold still, baby,” he murmured against her slit.
She bit down hard on her lip as she tried to do what she was told.
He thrust one and then two fingers into her pussy as he sucked on her clit and felt herself getting closer to the peak.
“Please…”
“Soon, baby.”
He swiped at the copious amount of cream running from her cunt and slid his finger to her back hole. He pushed in gently before pulling out to get more cream and then went deeper the next time.
Erotic sensations bombarded Eve as her body tried to control the pleasure Patrick was giving her. Her nails dug into his shoulders, and her heels pushed into the mattress.
****
He listened to the mewling sounds that came from her throat and smiled because he knew she was about ready. He sat back and flipped her to her stomach and then up to her knees until her ass was in the air.
He reached for the bedside table and took a tube of lube he put there.
She gasped when a glob of cold gel fell on her ass crack. Her hands fisted the blanket underneath her, and she waited for his next move.
“You’re going to be fine. Don’t be nervous,” he said as he started to work the gel into her anus. Patrick got her worked up again with his fingers. Only when she was begging for him did he line up his cock and start pressing into her.
He’d thrust an inch into her and then pull out only to go farther the next time.
“Oh,” she cried out.
He reached around her and started pressing on her clit as he slowly pushed into her until he bottomed out inside her.
