  3. Cholo turned out to be a childhood bully of sorts for Vinnie, who was unable to recognize him at first. Were you ever bullied when you were younger? Do you see yourself being friends with the people who bullied you before?

  4. Will you ever consider changing who you are for the person you love? If yes, to what extent?

  ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

To God, who taught me the value of patience and hard work, thank you for giving me this chance.

Dedicating this to Mom And Dad, who gave me everything.

A huge thank you to my family, especially my brother, who lets me escape chores so I can write instead.

Thank you to our #SparkNA mentor, Mina V. Esguerra, because without her none of this would have been possible.

Thanks to Anvil / Spark Books, for giving me a chance.

To my Citi officemates who helped and encouraged me, thanks! I wouldn’t have written this book if you didn’t let me daydream (even during office hours).

To my closest friends from Candymag, thank you. Especially to Louise Florencio, who listened to every rant I had. A huge shout-out also for Czarina Gaspar, who was with me every step of the way. Vinnie wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you.

And to you, who now has this book in your hands—thank you!
