Alpha Boss

“You know what Preston, I don’t think I’m going to walk out of here at all. I’m already going to take your life, your company, your pack, and you know what, I think I’ll take this house too. I could see myself here… in your house, with your mate.” He rubbed Samantha’s cheek. She shook her head and swatted at his hand. “She’s feisty. I like her.” He looked at Sam. “Don’t worry. I can please you much better than he can.” Preston growled and stepped forward. “Preston, I wouldn’t do that if I were you. If you shift, I will shoot her in the head.”
Preston was angry, but Sam knew he wouldn’t risk her life in that way, and she wouldn’t risk his. “You’re pathetic Marcos. Still too afraid to fight me one on one I see.”
Marcos smiled. “Let’s go join the family.” Marcos led them to the family room where Paris and Persia sat on a couch next to one another. Their hands were tied behind their backs. One guard stood over them. Marcos took Sam over to the girls to sit. “Shoot anybody that moves.” He ordered the guard. The guard nodded in obedience.
Marcos walked over to Preston and shoved him into a chair facing the others. Preston sat up straight. “Why don’t you just get it over with Marcos? The longer you keep me alive, the greater the chance I will kill you.”
“You always were cocky, weren’t you?” Marcos slapped Preston across the face with his gun. Sam yelled. “Quiet!” Marcos shouted behind him.
“You always were a coward.” Preston replied. “You knew you couldn’t beat me. That’s why you’re afraid to fight me like a man. That’s why you’ll never be half the alpha that I am. You’re pathetic.”
“Quiet!” Marcos hit Preston in the stomach. Preston winced, but continued to sit up straight. “I don’t have to beat you to win. I found your weakness. Who knew that the girl I got hired at your company would end up being your mate? Now I get to take everything you’ve worked so hard for purely because you won’t want to see her hurt. Now who’s pathetic? You could save yourself, but you won’t because if you try, she dies… Now, Samantha…”
“Don’t say my name,” Sam replied.
Marcos laughed. “I love her. You are about to watch as I kill your mate. Is there anything you want to say to him?” He punched Preston in the face. His nose started bleeding. He punched him again and again.
Samantha was more enraged than she’d ever been in her life. She refused to look away. She wanted to see everything. There was no way she was going to let Marcos kill this man that she had been waiting on for her entire life. She was not about to let evil win, and she did not want Preston sacrificing himself for her. Marcos kept hitting Preston. Paris and Persia cried out.
“STOP!” Sam yelled. Rage built up in her like she’d never felt before. “Can I just say goodbye?”
“Make it quick.” Marcos shouted as he looked back at her. He had the eyes of a mad man. He hated Preston.
“Preston.” Sam called out to him. “Preston, baby look at me.” Preston struggled to hold up his head. “I love you baby. I need you to focus. There’s only one way either of us gets out of this. Preston focused on her face. Don’t worry about me.” She said and winked at him. “You have to trust my instincts.” Sam paused. Her eyes moved back and forth between Preston and Marcos. “Get him.”
Something must have snapped in Preston because he sprang forward. Sam sprang forward at the same time. Hopefully it was enough of a distraction to confuse Marcos and his men. There was no time to think. Sam’s adrenaline was pumping. She jumped onto the couch and lunged for the guard behind her. Somehow, she was able to jump over the back of the sofa and pin him to the ground. She growled. “Whoa!” Sam realized that she had growled. How did she do that. She looked at her hands. They were not hands. They were paws. She had fur. The wolf within was enraged and before she could think she began clawing at the guard, digging her nails deep into his skin. She then took a big bite out of his neck and he stopped moving.
She jumped over the couch again and ran to the other side of the room. The guard had shifted along with Preston and Marcos. Preston was fighting the both of them. Sam aimed for Marcos. He got away the last time, and he was not going to get away this time. Sam clawed into his side and dug in. He howled in pain. “Welcome to the party.” She heard Preston’s voice through their mind link.
“Glad I could join.”
The guard ran away, and Sam and Preston continued to lay into Marcos. Before Sam knew it, Marcos was on his back. She dug into his belly. He howled and whimpered as they tore into his body, biting and scratching, and they wouldn’t let up until Marcos stopped moving or making any noise.
Once Marcos was dead Sam’s wolf calmed down. She shifted back to human form. She ran to untie Paris and Persia and gave them big hugs. They all ran over to Percy. He was just starting to wake up. “Be careful Percy, you probably have a concussion.” They helped him to his feet and walked him over to a chair.
“Wh- What happened?” He cleared his throat. His voice was hoarse.
Paris answered for the group. “Sam kicked Marco’s ass. That’s what happened.”
Sam smiled and looked at Preston. “Well,” she said, “Preston helped a little bit.” She smiled at him.
He laughed. “Just a little bit, huh?”
She shrugged before reaching out to touch his face. “Baby.” Gently she placed her hand on his cheek.
He touched her hand lovingly. “It’s okay. It will heal soon.”
“Sam how did you know you were going to shift?” Persia asked.
“I didn’t.” Sam replied.
“Sam.” Preston attempted to scold her.
“Look,” she stopped Preston, “all I could think about was trying to survive. I didn’t know there was a wolf ready to break out. It was either fight with a chance of survival, or die doing nothing. When I saw what he was doing to Preston I couldn’t take anymore.”
“You risked your life for me?”
“Nobody messes with my mate,” Sam winked at him.
“So, Sam,” Paris sounded excited, “how does it feel to be the alpha female?”
“Really.”
“Oh yeah, after you took down Marcos, no one is going to challenge you,” Paris replied.
“It’s true,” Preston chimed in, “You’ve proven that you can take care of yourself and the pack. Tonight, you earned your place, and you will help lead the pack.”
Sam beamed. “Wow. I don’t even know what to say. What am I supposed to do now?”
Preston winked at her. “You just follow my lead.”
“So, what do we do with all this?” Persia asked looking around the room.
Sam gazed at Marcos laying lifeless on the floor. “They’re not wolves, they’re dogs. Bury them,” Sam replied coldly.
“I got a clean-up crew coming,” Preston replied. “Come on Sam let’s get changed.”
Sam looked down. With everything that was going on she didn’t realize that she was naked. She blushed and attempted to cover herself with her hands. She ran out of the room and up the stairs, and in doing so, realized that she ran faster and had better endurance. Being a wolf was going to be amazing. Preston followed behind her. They took a shower and brushed their teeth. Before getting dressed they stopped to look at one another. Sam jumped into Preston’s arms. Tears streamed down her cheeks. “Preston, I don’t know what I would have done if I lost you.”
He wiped the tears away. “That’s never going to happen. We’ve got many more years of you annoying the hell out of me.”
They laughed together. “Seriously I finally get it, everything that you feel for me, I feel it. This mate thing is amazing. Thank you for being patient with me. I’m so glad I didn’t miss out on this.”
“Samantha Davis, I thought you would have realized, there was never any way I was going to let you go. You didn’t know it, but from the moment I saw you, you were stuck with me.”
“I don’t know. It could have gone either way. You did come on pretty strong.”
“And you loved every minut
e of it.”
“I tolerated it so I could see what you were up to. I was just curious.”
“Sorry babe you won’t convince me of that. You felt the pull the moment you met me too.
“Maybe I did.”
“Okay let’s get down there.”
“Okay.” She gave him a peck on the lips. His face was already healing.
They got dressed and headed down the stairs.
Michael and some other guys had come while they were gone, and everyone was explaining to them what happened. Sam ran over to Michael and gave him a big hug. “I’m glad you’re okay.”
“Same here. It looks like I missed all the action. This is why Marcos’s place was empty.”
Preston grabbed Sam by the waist. “Preston and I just want to say thank you for everything you do for the pack. We really value you. I hope you know that. Right, Preston?”
“Right. Thank you, brother.” They embraced.
Epilogue
On Monday as they entered the office hand in hand Samantha was able to tell the wolves from the humans. The humans carried on with their regular business, oblivious to all that had happened over the weekend. The wolves all congratulated Sam and Preston on their mating and their defeat of Marcos. People bowed slightly as she passed. They respected her as one of their own. She was in awe, shaking hands and hugging people as they made their way to the elevator.
People stopped by her office just to pay their respects. Some even brought gifts. They invited her and Preston to their homes. She had never felt so valued. She finally had the family she wanted. They went through the day taking care of business as usual. After everyone had gone, Preston called Sam to his office. “Close the door.”
“What’s up?” Sam asked.
“Come over here and find out.” Sam walked over to Preston’s desk and stood next to him. He grabbed her and sat her on his lap so that she straddled him. He was rock hard. “I’ve been waiting all day to get you alone.” He told her, his voice deepened seductively.
Sam rocked back and forth against him, her arms around his shoulders. “Now that you have me, what are you going to do with me?”
Preston stood and placed Sam on the desk on her back. He lifted her skirt and unzipped his pants. “I’m going to have my way with you, and you’re going to like it.”
“Whatever you say Mr. Jacobs.”
“Finally!” Preston roamed his hands across her body before pulling her panties down. He entered her with one thrust and she gasped. His strokes were fast and furious. Sam was in heaven.
After they finished they moved to one of the couches and laid in each other’s arms. “Well done.” Samantha smiled up at Preston. “Did I ever tell you how happy I am?”
“Nope. You’re ungrateful.”
She playfully slapped his shoulder. “So, Mr. Jacobs, I was thinking back to the first day we met last week.”
“Oh really?”
“Yeah. Remember when you came to my house, because I forgot my driver’s license? Sam used air quotes to emphasize forgot.
“Yes. I remember.”
“Did you steal my ID and pretend I left it behind?”
Preston looked at Sam, his expression unreadable. Then he simply shrugged his shoulders and gave her an innocent smile.
She playfully slapped his shoulder and pleaded with him. “Come on. Tell me.”
Preston kissed her on the nose as he changed the subject. “What do you want to eat?”
