Victor

He raked his fingers through her hair and took hold of her head. She whimpered in desperate agony and submitted to his guiding touch. He steered her sideways so he could taste the full glory of her mouth. Her breathing quickened against his lips and a thrilling rocket of desire rushed to his crotch.

He didn’t know who was in the house. He didn’t care. He wanted to make her scream in ecstasy. He wanted to nail the fuck out of her and make the whole world hear. He wanted to conquer her in a way he never did before. He wanted to do it out of aching hunger and desire, not hatred.

He slipped his hand farther down her back and took a firm grip on her ass. He shoved her against his stiffening package. She sobbed as a blistering tremor ran up her spine. She corkscrewed her hips to work his prick into her fissure.

She ripped her lips off him and croaked out a broken rasp. “I need you, Victor. I need you so bad.”

“Come on, baby,” he muttered. “Come on and sit on my cock. I want to see you cum.”

He seized his fly and ripped it open. In half a second, he whipped out his tool and pointed it at her. He wanted to pound her so fucking hard. He wanted to blast her into a million pieces. He wanted to feel her crack under the force of his thrusts.

She whined peeling her shirt off. She put her arms behind her to unhitch her bra, but Victor attacked her before she had a chance. He snatched her breasts in both hands. He crushed them and manhandled them through the lacy fabric. She arched her back to cram them into his grasp. She moaned and writhed when he pinched her nipples.

He crammed his leg into her box. His prick strained to get at her. It stiffened until it throbbed and hurt. The veins distended it hurt so bad.

He pulverized her tits in his powerful grip. He wanted to hurt her, to drive himself into her so she would feel his volcanic passion building to blow.

She clawed at his shoulders trying to push her crotch at his tool. “Please,” she whined. “Please.”

“Come on,” he ordered. “Come on.”

She undulated her body against him. She thrust her hips at his cock, but she didn’t seem able to take it any further than that. He saw her spiraling into a frenzy where she couldn’t think straight. He would have to take her in hand himself.

He stripped down her bra cups and guided those beautiful pearls into his mouth. He sank his teeth into their rubbery soft tips and sucked for his very life. She sobbed in his ear. She raked her fingernails through his hair. She hugged his head into her. No matter how hard he bit, she only twisted and seethed harder.

He burrowed his fingers into her ass and felt the unmistakable squish of wetness in her pants. She gyrated in frantic circles on his hand. Oh, yeah, she wanted it.

He didn’t need any more permission than that. He took hold of her pants and tore them open. He stripped them down her legs. While she did her best to kick them free, he dove his hand into her slit. His fingers disappeared in a vacuum of hot juicy wetness. He fished inside her and sponged through acres of engorged rippling flesh.

“Please, Victor!” she shrilled into his ear. “Please. Please.”

He couldn’t answer. Fuck, she sounded so good when she begged like that. He guided her delicious cunt onto his waiting cock and drilled inside.

She let rip a devastating scream when he punched through her defenses and took her to the hilt. Her sauce gurgled around his shaft and smoothed his way to Heaven. He moved his hand aside. He reclined onto his back against the bare boards holding her breast between his teeth.

Her thighs collapsed on either side of his stiff rod and her body liquefied around him. She sank on top of him. Her voluptuous breast smothering his face in glorious fragrant softness.

No sooner did he relax back than she burst into violent galloping pumps to drive his cock deeper into her. She rode him hard, pounding her moist box down on his hardness. She hammered herself a lot harder than he would have dared.

She screamed in his ear in piercing, keening cries. She tore at his scalp. She would have pulled his hair if she could have gotten a handful of it.

He clamped her nipple between his teeth. She bucked and tossed, but he wouldn’t let go. Her magnificent hair draped around his face and blocked out the firelight. He could make out the halo of orange curving down her ribs to her ass. He didn’t need to see more.

She slapped her thighs into his hip bones. She unfurled her legs to weasel him to her limit. He locked his elbow around her waist. He bumped her upward and nailed her for all he was worth, and she met him coming down at every stroke. She went wild in his arms.

God, she felt so beautiful on top of him! Everything about her captivated him. He worshiped her perfection, her noises, her unbridled, uninhibited energy. He submitted to the tempest of her attack and bathed in the delirious rapture of everything she was.

Her ass bounced when he squeezed it. Her other breast brushed his cheek so he had to let off this one in order to give it the attention it deserved. She whined and shrieked in his ear to wake the dead.

He didn’t care if the whole camp knew he fucked her. He wanted them to know. He wanted the whole world to know he laid claim to her. He didn’t know until right now that’s what he was doing, but that’s how it turned out.

He had her and he would keep her. He could never live without that aching need holding them together. Everything that happened led to this moment. All roads led back to her.

He wanted to see her. He wanted to bask in the radiant marvel of her giving herself to him. He pulled off her breast and pushed her upright. She sat up still rocking her sodden box against his tool. She moaned and swayed drilling her cunt wide open. Her breasts floated in the firelight. Her hair concealed her features, but he didn’t need to see her molten obsession.

She braced her arms against his chest and sat her dripping pussy on his rock hard cock. She vibrated with quivering tremors inside and out. He raised his hands and supported her breasts. He played with her nipples until she shoved them into his grasp.

He clenched his midsection to screw his prick inside her, but he let her do the real driving. He loved watching her satisfy herself on his body. He gloried in seeing her anoint him with her stark raving passion. She kindled to the brightness of a supernova even in the dark. She blinded him with her power.

This dragon woman, this mutant fury—she was his. The same magical force tying him to her bound her to him. She couldn’t get away any more than he could.

When he slammed up into her, her head lolled back. Her hair showered backward and a mystical shade of orange shimmered up her features. She gleamed and sparkled with dark power he didn’t have to understand.

He couldn’t support himself against the devastating grip holding him inside her. He leaned back on the boards, but he didn’t close his eyes to this phenomenon happening to him. He lost focus and drifted in the ether of his own rising climax. He felt it coming. It would sweep him away to somewhere he never imagined.

Her escalating, squealing cries lit up the room. When the explosion came, it seized him in an inexorable convulsion that refused to relax. It kept him suspended in a drunken mixture of ecstasy, confusion, and agony. Would he ever come down?

Even when he poured his essence into her and felt the responding spasms shuddering up her channel, he didn’t soften. She bled him of every drop. She sucked him out of himself to consume him.

He couldn’t understand it. He couldn’t tolerate it. He could only lie there and tremble at the ferocity of her desire. She smashed her bones against his prick and still her inner pulsating rhythm made him tense again and again on epic succeeding waves.

All at once, she folded in on herself. She tucked her chin against her chest and curled into a ball. Her skull collapsed onto his sternum and her hair blanked him in fragrant sweat. She continued to sway on his spike embedded in her anatomy. Her juices gushed around his shaft. Her slit stroked him on the inside and she rotated her hips in circles.

She mewed and whimpered and caressed her satin breasts over his chest. She
nuzzled her face into his neck and lay still.

Riley stared down at the sprawling city. “New Orleans. I never thought I’d see it like this.”

“You must have seen it before,” Victor countered. “It’s no different now.”

“I’ve seen it a million times. I spent years here, but it’s definitely different now. It will never look the same to me.”

“It’s not so different,” he replied. “You’re just going to learn something about it no one else knows.”

She squinted at the buildings and the lakefront in the distance. “What is it really like in there? What are the New Breed like?”

Cameron chimed in. “If you spent that much time here, you’ve seen plenty of them. Most of them look like normal people and live normal lives. The ones that don’t, you’ve never seen before, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t there.”

He set off down the highway. The rest of the party fell in line behind him. Riley hurried to catch up with Victor. “Where are we going?”

“We’ll go to Ogru-Kuche first. That’s the headquarters of the Prometheus Crest.”

Riley took her position next to him. Since they left the hunting camp, the group took on a loose structure of its own. Cameron led with his followers. Victor’s men came next with Victor and Riley bringing up the rear.

At first, she thought she got relegated to the hindquarters because she was still human. She realized after the first few days, she realized that wasn’t the case. The New Breed viewed her as an adjunct to Victor almost like his rifle. She was an extension of him now. Since Victor was Cameron’s son and second-in-command, that made her pretty important.

No one called her human anymore. The men talked to her as one of their own. No one teased or so much as smirked about her and Victor doing it. Everyone could hear them screwing around every night, but no one seemed to care. The hunters all acted like this was just the done thing now.

When they crossed the Maurepas Swamp on the last stretch before New Orleans, Cameron wanted the dragons to shift and swim across the lake. He changed his plans on Riley’s advice. She informed him that the military deployed sensors in Lakes Maurepas and Pontchartrain after the spill to monitor changes in the water chemistry. She suspected the sensors also detected dragon activity and could trigger another airstrike.

She expected him to shut her down and remind her of her place. Instead, he listened to her. The band crossed on the highway, even though Cameron and Victor both considered it more dangerous.

No humans appeared to notice the strange collection of ragtag individuals walking down the interstate. Cars whizzed by going both directions, but no one honked or made rude gestures.

The men kept casting searching glances in all directions, but Riley didn’t see anything out of the ordinary beyond themselves. All New Orleans and its satellite communities continued on their ordinary lives as though nothing happened. To them, nothing did happen.

For Riley, everything changed. Now she was truly alien and outside what she once considered normal. She became something foreign and outcast to these people. She was one step away from being invisible.

No wonder the New Breed managed to live side by side with the humans without being noticed. People saw what they wanted to see. They might see someone who looked a little strange. As long as no one shifted into a dragon before their very eyes, people worked overtime to maintain the illusion that everything was as they always believed it would be.

She belonged to this New Breed now. She belonged to Victor one way or the other. If she ever doubted her situation, she inched closer to him.

“Tell me more about the Prometheus Crest,” she prompted. “What is it like?”

“It’s the ruling Crest of Anarock. It’s mostly dragon shifters, but that doesn’t mean anything. Each Crest has its own unique character. The Prometheus Crest rules Anarock, but that could change at any time.”

“Do you have laws or some system of representation that determines who rules?” she asked. “What recourse do people have if they don’t like what the Crest does?”

“There is no system of representation. It’s jungle warfare. We don’t belong to the wider legal society so we’re on our own. If someone kills somebody or war breaks out, we have only ourselves. The Crest system keeps things in check most of the time, but every Crest and even every New Breed individual always has to keep one eye open to what everybody else is doing. It can get explosive sometimes.”

“That doesn’t seem like a very harmonious situation to live in,” she remarked.

“It’s anything but harmonious, but it works. The Prometheus Crest has been in charge for nearly a hundred years. As long as they stay in charge, Anarock remains relatively stable. The other Crests aren’t powerful enough to overthrow us.”

“Do they try?” she asked. “Do they want to keep it stable or do they try to disrupt the status quo?”

He burst out laughing. “They try to disrupt it all the time. Half of Pop’s job is keeping tabs on every petty-ass plot every two-bit mutant cooks up to overthrow the Prometheus Crest. They’re always coming up with something.”

“How does he do it?” she asked. “How does he stay on top of so many plots?”

“Most New Breed are loyal to the Prometheus Crest. Some that belong to other Crests recognize the value of leaving the Prometheus Crest in charge. If they see a plot brewing, they tell us. Other times, one of our allies will let us know in time. Most often, just us finding out about it is enough to make them pull their heads in.”

She cocked her head to examine him. “You make it sound like it’s no big deal.”

“It’s part of the job. It’s part of being a member of the Prometheus Crest. You’ll wind up in the same situation unless you become a turncoat and join one of the other Crests.”

She gasped. “I wouldn’t do that! How can you suggest that?”

He shrugged. “You can make your own choice. You might be loyal to us now and change your mind later. Everyone in Anarock is free to support whoever they want whenever they want. You’ll be no different.”

“I won’t,” she snapped. “Don’t even talk like that.”

“I’ll be doing that job one of these days,” he went on. “I’ll be in charge of the Prometheus Crest and then I’ll be the one scrambling to keep tabs on everybody else’s business.”

She brought her head up. “I never thought about that. Is it hard knowing you’ll take over from your father when he dies?”

“I’ve been trained for it all my life. Doing the job won’t be near so hard as fighting my brothers for the position. I could almost be happy to let one of them take it instead of me.”

She frowned. “Your brothers? You and Bryce seem to get along pretty well.”

“We do. We get along with our brother Malachai, too. We always have, but that could change in a heartbeat without Pop standing between us and the Crest. No one knows what will happen then.”

Her eyes widened. “You don’t seriously believe they could turn against you, do you?”

He squinted into the distance. “Anything’s possible. With the Crest up for grabs and nothing but me standing in their way, they could do all kinds of strange things.”

She couldn’t speak above a whisper. She stared up at his chiseled visage. “What will you do then?”

“I have no idea,” he murmured. “I’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out.”

The party crossed the last bridge and exited onto city streets. They passed through one bedroom community after another toward the taller buildings of New Orleans. The city hummed in the distance with a curious energy. It enticed Riley to find out all its secrets.

The farther they hiked, the deeper they penetrated the urban landscape, the more she began to understand Victor’s comments about Anarock. The New Breed existed in another dimension from ordinary society. Riley and her comrades might as well be ghosts moving among living people.

The group crossed many miles un
til they entered the Center City. Businesses, apartment houses, parking lots—it all looked so familiar and yet changed somehow.

Cameron drew to a halt in front of a giant building. The top northwest corner didn’t exist. Floors, exposed rooms, and broken-down hallways yawned to the outside world. People moved in and out. They looked like homeless people squatting in the wreckage. They sat around on the stoop and kids ran through a yard littered with trash.

From outside, it resembled any ghetto slum Riley would expect to see in a crime-ridden inner-city landscape. A ten-foot chain-link fence surrounded the whole disaster zone to lock the inmates inside—or the humans outside. Riley couldn’t decide which. A sign out front read, Ogru-Kuche, with a collection of Japanese characters underneath.

Cameron approached the fence. He took hold of a stout chain padlocking the gate closed. He gave it a loud rattle. Out of nowhere, a little black boy appeared behind the fence. He literally materialized out of thin air. He was invisible one moment and standing there the next.

He lunged for the lock and snatched it out of Cameron’s hand. “Hold on there, Sir. I’ll get it for you.”

  “No problem, Jules,” Cameron replied.

The boy fumbled a key out of his threadbare cut-off shorts. He unlocked the gate and dragged it open for the party to enter. Riley smiled when she passed him, but he only dipped her a nod. Then he got back to the business of hauling the gate closed. When she looked back over her shoulder, he was no longer there.

Cameron led the way inside. Riley tiptoed between drunks lying unconscious in the corridors. A powerful stench of stale booze and urine assaulted her nose. Screams and yells floated to her ear from out of sight. This couldn’t be the headquarters of the ruling Crest of Anarock. She refused to believe it.

Cameron turned into what looked like a room, but it had no door and no glass in the windows. Graffiti marred the bare concrete walls. Riley’s heart sank. She didn’t see Cameron slip into a closet behind the door.
