Forty-five minutes later, Inspector Caruso strolled back into the office, looking happier than he had in weeks.

"What's up, boss?" Pepper said as the big man walked over to him, his nagging hip not seeming to be troubling him so much right now. Alerted to the Inspector's presence, the other team members all looked over.

"This is what's up," Caruso said, reaching into his inside jacket pocket and slapping down some folded sheets of paper on Pepper's desk.

"Is that a search warrant?" McTavish said, leaning over and pointing at the legal document.

"Only for his car," Caruso said. "The Justice said we didn't have enough solid evidence to grant a warrant to search his premises, but he did listen to everything I had to say and decided he's willing to at least go this far. If that car is the one that Bartolucci said he dumped the girl in, or if it's the car that was used to abduct the Skinner girl, this could be the break that we need. And, we are way overdue for a break on this case-way overdue."

"Do you want Chin and I to serve it on him," McTavish asked, already slipping on his coat.

"Hang on, Ian," Caruso said, holding up his hand. "I still want you and Chin to keep a step back right now, in case we have to play good cop/bad cop at some point. I want Pepper and Wallace to take this. Pepper already got under his skin a little bit today, let's keep pushing this asshole."

It was late afternoon, but with the days slowly getting longer, the sun was still above the horizon in the westerly sky as Pepper drove by the faculty parking lot, spotting Drummond's car in the same place it had been all day.

"Bingo," Wallace said, making his hand into a make-believe gun and pulling the trigger as he aimed it towards the silver Honda Civic.
