Broken Alpha

“Thank you Kosta. I’m afraid we’ve lost Leo and need to make arrangements to transport him back to his pack. Dr. Homer should look over Rocky and Alec first, it appears they’ve been injected with wolfbane.” Dimitri instructed.
“Of course, Knox, please take Rocky into the next room, so Dr. Homer can evaluate her.” Kosta said.
Knox just clung tighter to Rocky, his eyes dark and growled, “MINE.”
“It’s okay, I’m a mated wolf.” Dr. Homer told us and pulled his shirt collar down exposing his mate mark on the lower neck.
“Knox, I’m sure you can go with her. Dr. Homer only wants to help her.” I told Knox.
“Rocky, this is my oldest brother, the future Alpha of Crescent Moon pack, Knox LaRue. Knox, this is Rocky Onassis, future Beta of Zeus’s Howlers.”
Rocky looked up at Knox with tears still glistening in her eyes. “It’s actually Raquel, but I prefer Rocky.” She told him.
Knox’s eyes filled with so much emotion when his mate spoke to him for the first time. “What’s your wolf’s name?” He asked.
“It’s Reign. What’s yours?”
“Knight. As in your Knight in shining fur.” He smiled silly and Rocky managed a faint smile.
It was a really sweet moment that calmed Knox down. He picked Rocky up and followed Dr. Homer into the other room with her. Knox was an exact replica of my overprotective father.
“It’s probably time to call my father and explain everything.” The room stood silent for a moment.
“We also need to call Alpha Georgios.” Dimitri said breaking the silence.
“There’s video conference equipment upstairs we can use. Once Rocky is done we can get started. I’ll go call Alpha LaRue and Alpha Georgios so they’re ready for the video conference.” Kosta said.
Twenty minutes later, Knox carried Rocky upstairs to join us. “Dr. Homer said the wolfbane will work its way out of her system in the next day or two, she just needs to rest.” Knox told us.
“Are we ready to connect on the conference call?” Kosta asked.
Clair was sitting next to Niko, Knox was holding Rocky on his lap, Odessa stood by Kosta and I sat next to Dimitri. The equipment connected and the monitor showed my father in a room with my mother, Aunt Payton and Uncle Max.
“Good evening Alpha LaRue, Luna and Beta’s. I’m Alpha Dimitri Theodorus, from Olympus Blood Moon. We’re just waiting for Alpha Georgios from Zeus’s Howlers to connect and we’ll get started.” Dimitri said.
“Knox! Is there something you want to tell us.” My mother said with that knowing smile on her face. She was looking at Knox possessively holding Rocky on his lap. Alpha Georgios connected before anyone could answer my mother.
“Alpha Georgios, thank you for joining us.” Dimitri said. He was about the same age as Dimitri, I wasn’t expecting him to be so young for some reason. He had light brown almost blondish hair with striking hazel eyes.
“I apologize for the delay, I’m actually in Athens on business right now and there’s been a great deal of commotion going on at the marina. It appears that Alpha Eros of Moon Warriors has been found dead.” Georgios told us.
“That’s actually great news!” My father said.
“It certainly is! That scum was a disgrace to our kind. Kosta, I didn’t know you worked for Alpha Dimitri.” Georgios said.
“Kosta is the Uncle of my Beta Niko Stamos and a former pack member of Olympus Blood Moon. He may be living and working independently in the city, but he will always be a trusted liaison. I believe his admirable qualities is exactly why Alpha LaRue trusts him as well.” Dimitri said.
“You are correct Alpha Dimitri, please begin the meeting, I’m assuming my son and heir, Knox, has found his mate from your pack?” My father said.
“Raquel?” Georgios said suddenly understanding that Rocky was actually sitting in Knox’s lap.
“Actually dad, it’s a long story. Alpha Georgios, I’m Raven LaRue, from Crescent Moon. I should probably start from the beginning, so you understand exactly what has transpired and the current situation we’re in...” I continued on from the beginning. When I came to Athens, meeting Rocky and Leo and Eros’ obsession with me. Dimitri filled in the parts about his father and the mafia connection.
We told them about the human trafficking and Angela’s abduction. Then we told them about Rocky and Leo’s disappearance, the arrival of Knox and Clair and the rescue that went wrong this morning. We explained how we believe Stefanos is not only the mafia boss but also the Alpha of rogues and how he is possibly controlling Eros’ pack.
“And now the mighty beast of Greece seeks our help?” Alpha Georgios said smugly, and I could hear Dimitri trying to control a growl in his chest.
“How dare you speak to my brother that way Georgios!” Odessa roared her eyes livid. “Eros was an evil monster and my brother ripped his throat out, which you seemed to be very happy about moments ago. Let me remind you, Olympus Blood Moon is nearly three times the size of your pack and far more powerful. We are not seeking your help, only your understanding for the loss of your future Delta and OUR FRIEND. Leo cared very much for his friend Raven, who is our LUNA.”
Well that’s one way to tell my parents!
“What? Luna?” My mother gasped.
“Yes, Raven is my mate.” Dimitri replied.
“LIKE HELL SHE IS!” My father growled and chaos seemed to erupt, everyone was talking over each other.
“EVERYONE CALM DOWN!” Kosta called out.
“Yes, it’s true. The Moon Goddess has paired Raven with Alpha Dimitri. Alpha LaRue, before you say something else you might regret, you should remember the prophecy, something bigger is at work here and no one can stop it. Also, my nephew, the Beta of Olympus Blood Moon, is the mate of your niece.” Kosta explained.
“Clair? Is this true? Why didn’t you call me?” My Aunt Payton squealed. She was always the cool supportive one.
“Mom, I just got here a few hours ago and found him.” Clair said blushing.
“What about Knox?” My mother asked.
“Raquel Onassis, Rocky, from Zeus’s Howlers, is the mate of the future Alpha of Crescent Moon. I’m sorry Alpha Georgios, it looks like you’re going to lose your future Beta as well.” Kosta smiled.
“And who is this little ball of flames?” Georgios asked.
“This ball of flames is my sister Odessa Theodorus, and you will respect her.” Dimitri said.
“I’ll have the jet fueled and ready to go in the morning. We’re coming to get you.” My father growled.
“Dad, I’m not going anywhere.” I snapped back.
“We’ll sort it out when we get there honey.” My mother said. Which was code for, I’ll calm your father down.
“Alpha LaRue, we’ll be retreating to one of our islands while we establish a plan to take care of the bigger threat. There are too many rogues on the mainland, and I need to keep my mate safe.” Dimitri said.
“Do you expect us to find you among thousands of islands?” My father growled.
“Of course not Alpha. When you and the Luna arrive, please call Kosta, he will arrange for our high speed boat to bring you to the island.” Dimitri graciously said.
“I need to return with Leo, for his funeral.” Rocky said softly.
“Alpha Georgios, I will escort my mate with Leo back to your pack lands.” Knox said.
“We’re at the marina, the arrangements have been made to take Leo back.” Kosta said.
“I’m nearby and will meet you at the marina to travel back with you. Alpha Dimitri, I would like to request your sister escort your new brother-in-law and Raquel. To attend the funeral tomorrow on your behalf.” Alpha Georgios said.
Dimitri looked at Odessa who nodded her head in agreement. “Very well, Odessa will accompany them on my behalf.”
“We will attend the funeral as well Alpha Georgios, we obviously have some things to discuss. Then we will join Alpha Dimitri and my daughter on the island.” My father said an
d hung up.
“I will be at the marina in fifteen minutes.” Alpha Georgios said and disconnected.
“Are you going to be okay going alone?” Clair asked Knox.
“Of course I am. We’ll join you on the island after the funeral.” Knox said before he turned to Dimitri. “Take care of my sister.” Knox added.
“I will, take care of mine too.” Dimitri said as Odessa hugged him goodbye.
“The boat is ready to take you out to the island Alpha.” Alexander said.
“Niko and Clair will be coming with us. Alexander, return with the warriors and take Alec back to follow up with Dr. Vovos.” Dimitri instructed.
“I’d like to go out and have a moment with Leo before they leave with him.” I said and Dimitri took my hand, leading me to the car to say my final goodbye to my friend.
Chapter 28 – Island
We zipped across the Aegean Sea on the high speed boat. I was seated on Dimitri's lap with my head nuzzled in his neck. My thoughts were swirling around with the stress of everything that transpired today his scent seemed to calm my wolf. Rae was perfectly content in the arms of her mate. The only thing that could possibly make her happier was to finally be claimed.
One of our warriors was driving the boat, the further we got away from Athens, the better I felt. We passed dozens of islands in all shapes and sizes. I peeked over at Clair and Niko, they were seated in the same position as us. I thought about how lucky Clair was to have parents who were so easily accepting of her finding her mate. In this moment, I was very much envious of Clair having Aunt Payton and Uncle Max for parents.
When Clair turned eighteen, nearly a year and a half ago, she was heartbroken when she didn't find her mate. Of course, Knox had also been looking for his mate for two years. He took it harder than any of us when he turned eighteen and his mate was nowhere to be found. I'm happy for the both of them and wish my parents would have been just as happy for me as they were for Knox and Clair. I was thrilled and thankful that Clair would settle down in Greece with me in the same pack. This would naturally mean more visits to Greece from our family.
It's strange, I never imagined myself as a Luna. Perhaps it's because I spent the majority of my life hoping Zach was my mate and he was a gamma. All those years, all those wishes on shooting stars, hoping and praying for Zach, and that now seemed so silly. In the three days that I have known Dimitri, I have felt so much more for him than if I had spent a lifetime with Zach. I wasn't about to let anyone take that away, not even my father.
I love my father very much, some would even say I was his favorite, but I wasn't looking forward to seeing him tomorrow. His reaction to Dimitri wasn't good, he even threatened to take me home tomorrow despite knowing that he shouldn't interfere in the work of the Moon Goddess. Dimitri had handled himself admirable and kept his cool. I continued to rest my head in his neck, and he continued to stroke my back.
A short while later, I heard our driver call out, “land ho.” I turned my head to see an island in the distance that got bigger and bigger as we got closer. The waters had floating navigation buoys that were marked private property and no trespassing. I could see the island was covered in trees and olive groves. From the sea, a few houses scattered across the island were slightly visible. A small marina came into sight with two docks. It had a few boats of different sizes already docked. We slowed down and docked in an open spot.
“Welcome back Alpha!” A man in his early forties said as he helped tie the boat down.
“Thank you Dumas. I'd like you to meet my mate and Luna, Raven LaRue. Raven, this is Dumas, my lead on the island and business manager.” Dimitri said.
“How wonderful to finally meet you.” He bowed his head. “Is this your sister?” He looked at Clair.
“This is the Luna's cousin and Beta Niko's mate, Clair.” Dimitri said.
“Excellent news!” He smiled warmly at us and a realization swept across his face. “Did you say LaRue?”
“Yes. She is Alpha LaRue’s daughter.” Dimitri grinned and continued, “Have the others settled in?”
“Yes sir. Elaina and a few other members arrived yesterday. She has lunch all set for you at the main house. The carts are ready as well, unless you want to let your wolves stretch their legs out.” He said.
“A run sounds wonderful.” Clair said.
“Let's get to lunch first and then I'll give you a tour around the island.” Niko told her, always thinking with his stomach first.
We drove in golf carts towards the pack house and Dimitri pointed out the sights. A large building came into view and Dimitri explained how it was a water treatment facility; it desalinated water for the whole island and irrigation of the groves. The south side of the island had a huge solar power system that created and stored energy. The island had about two hundred inhabitants that belonged to the pack.
“It's a highly profitable business. We have seven different kinds of olive varieties growing on this island and the ancient groves on the north end of the island live for hundreds of years. We produce some of the world’s finest premium olive oils.” Dimitri explained to me.
“This is absolutely stunning.” I said.
We approached the pack house and it was much bigger than I would have expected for an island. It was a large, single level, villa style home that was surrounded with trees. I suppose a multiple level house would have attracted unwanted attention to the island from out at sea. This was a beautiful layout, complete with swimming pool and a picturesque vegetable garden.
Elaina greeted us and nearly cried with joy when Niko introduced his mate. She had prepared a wonderful smelling lunch and we sat outside on the back patio, enjoying an ocean breeze. We had a tomato Greek salad, fresh baked bread, kalamarakia appetizer and a lobster pasta dish. Elaina explained the tomatoes had come fresh from the garden. There was something amazing about the tomatoes in Greece, they tasted better than any I've ever had.
“The lobster was caught just this morning; the north end of the island is filled with them. We should consider exporting lobster.” She laughed. “Save some room for dessert, I've made the Alpha's favorite cookie, it's a chocolate and salted caramel. They've just come out of the oven!” I almost laughed out loud at the idea of the big bad Alpha having a favorite cookie.
Lunch was delicious, and we laughed at the stories Clair told about us growing up. Dimitri has such a swoon worthy, weak in the knees laugh, while Niko had a deep cackle. When we finished eating lunch, Clair turned to Niko with a smile, “Cleo is begging to go out for a run.”
“Nyke will be very happy to take his mate out and show her the island, just as soon as I have one of these cookies.” Niko said and grabbed three cookies before they left.
“And what would my beautiful mate like to do?” Dimitri asked and kissed my hand.
“I think I should lay down; I'm feeling exhausted.” I said.
“Anything you want.” Dimitri scooped me up and carried me down a corridor. “The Alpha suite is at the end of the western corridor of the house.”
We entered a big, open and airy feeling room with white walls and a massive bed in the middle of the room, surrounded by windows. Dimitri pressed a button on the wall and the room darkened as the blinds rolled down. I removed my dress up over my head and dropped it to the floor. I had intended to take a nap, but something had come over me. The only thing I wanted more than anything right now, was to have my mate claim me.
I looked into his eyes and he stood motionless in front of me as I reached behind my back to unhook my bra. As soon as my bra dropped to the ground, I heard a growl rumbling inside his chest. His eyes darkened and he struggled to maintain control. Rae was panting and needed her mate. I also wanted to complete the mating process. It seemed to be an urgent goal I didn’t even know I had.
I reached down and slid my panties off and stood for a moment breathing in his scent. I reached for Dimitri and lowered his head to meet my lips, he closed his eyes and gently kissed my lips. I kissed him b
ack with need and could feel his desire growing. My mouth moved to his neck and I started kissing and sucking on it.
"You're playing with fire." He groaned and closed his eyes.
I stepped back and turned to bend over the bed, so I could pull the covers back. I was suddenly pressed down on my stomach by the weight of Dimitri on top of me. His chest was on my back. He was fully clothed, and I could feel his hard cock rubbing against the back of my ass. My hair was all over my face and the only thing I could see was his forearms on each side of my head.
He leaned his head next to my ear, “tell me little bird, are you begging me to mount you?” His deep voice asked.
I'm naked, how much more obvious do I need to make it, I shook my head yes. I needed him more than anything right now. I felt heated and my core was throbbing.
