  I tried to swallow past the Texas-sized lump in my throat, but couldn’t.

  For a full minute, all I could do was ogle her as she stood there, all curves and soft-looking skin in her matching bra and panties.

  “Well,” she said, bringing her hands up to rest on her hips. “Don’t just stand there like a kid who’s unwrapped the present he begged for all year and now doesn’t know what to do with it.”

  Her sassy comment snapped me back to reality. I kicked off my shoes and quickly shed my shirt. Then, I was on her, scooping her up and laying her down on the bed. As I eased between her legs she locked them around my waist and we kissed passionately. Now wasn’t the time to focus on technique.

  I let my hands roam, gliding over her soft skin and squeezing her breasts. She moaned into my mouth and kissed me hungrily. I pulled away and kissed a path down her tight stomach. Even laying down she had washboard abs to rival Teyana Taylor’s.

  When I reached the sheer red panties that matched her bra to a tee, I took in the breathtaking sight. Through the see through underwear, I saw that I was indeed right, her pussy was entirely bald.

  In a move that was the polar opposite of how I felt, I slowly eased her panties down. She lifted her ass from the bed to help me get them completely off. I brushed my hand over her bare mound, noting how silky smooth it was. Her Brazilian wax had to be one, maybe two days old, if that.

  Juices glistened between her folds. She was already soaking wet for me. My dick got impossibly harder and I forced myself to ignore the urge to be inside her right. Fucking. Now. No, this was about Karmena. The first time was always solely about the woman’s pleasure, her overall experience.

  I ran the tip of my tongue over her clit and she hissed in pleasure. That was all the incentive I needed. I went to town on her pussy, pulling out every trick and move I had in my repertoire. She came twice and I was working her towards a third, when she clamped my head between her legs, preventing me from moving an inch either way.

  Our eyes met.

  In a husky voice she demanded, “Get a condom—now.”

  She released the grip she had on my head with her legs and before getting up, I gave her clit one last lick for good measure. I quickly dug my wallet out of my pocket before shedding my jeans. If my memory served me correctly, there had to be a condom inside. An old-as-hell one, but a condom nonetheless.

  Rifling through my wallet, I started to panic when I couldn’t find it. I pulled out debit cards, credit cards and random pieces of paper I had stored in there for whatever reason. At last, the corner of a gold wrapped peeked up at me from behind a photograph of my dog. I yanked the condom out and let my wallet drop to the floor.

  In a matter of seconds, I was sheathed in my latex tuxedo, ready to win best-dressed at the hottest party of the century. Primal instinct took over as I marched back to the bed and jumped on it.

  Karmena had been watching me like a hawk. Her grey eyes had darkened a shade with desire.

  I leaned in to kiss her, attempting to slide back between her legs. She surprised me when she ducked the kiss and moved to the side.

  “I’m on top,” she announced.

  Grinning, I raised my hands in mock surrender. I loved it when a woman rode, so that was just fine by me.

  When she straddled me, I was so moved by the sight of her body, on top of mine, that it took me a couple seconds to realize she’d gripped my dick and put it inside her. Suddenly, all the air was sucked out of my lungs. She was so tight, so warm, so…wet.

  Her hips swiveled, slowly, tantalizingly slow. I gasped, looking up at her in awe, shock, and admiration. Who the hell did this woman think she was doing...this to me?

  The look in her eyes let me know she knew exactly what she was doing—exactly.

  I reached up and cupped her breasts, drawing a loud moan from her.

  “You’re…so…wet,” I panted between breaths.

  Karmena looked me dead in the eye, never slowing down the pace of her moving hips. She pressed a finger against my lips.

  “Shh. I know. Now shut up and drown.”

  She slid to the tip of my dick and slammed back down on it, pushing me to the very edge of pleasure. If she kept this up, I was going to come. I planned on doing just that, but not like this. I couldn’t go out like a little bitch the first time we had sex.

  I gripped her hip with one hand and gently wrapped the other around her neck. I was taking a gamble with the ladder, but as feisty as Karmena was, I was willing to bet every dime I had that she was one of those women who liked to be choked during sex.

  When she smiled, the muscles in her neck tightened in my loose, but firm grip. I was right.

  “Come here,” I said, pulling her down for a kiss.

  Our tongues mingled and she sucked on mine with an expertise that had me wondering what else she was good at sucking on.

  Enough of this shit. I couldn’t take it anymore, I needed to come.

  I flipped her over onto her stomach but she didn’t stay that way for long, before scrambling up on her knees into the doggy style position. Her ass jiggled and I gave it a little slap before entering her from behind.

  “Oooh!” she moaned in surprise.

  The view back here was amazing. With every thrust her breasts and ass bounced all over the place. I swiveled my hips, drawing a long moan from her. The walls of her pussy clenched impossibly tighter, and again I couldn’t breathe. How was it possible to drown and suffocate at the same time? But it was worth it to know she was about to come.

  I thrusted in and out of her like a man possessed. Right before she cried out that she was coming, I lost it, falling over the edge of oblivion my damn self. Luck was on my side that we went over together, because I would have hated to come before her.

  My orgasm went on forever and I continued to pump in and out her wetness, until every last drop of cum had seeped into the condom.

  Spent, I collapsed backwards onto the bed, my head hanging over the edge. I couldn’t move or think, but now that I was out of the tightest pussy on earth, at least I could breathe again.

  Already I could tell that I’d found my newest addiction in life in Karmena Todd. She was going to be mine for the rest of her life.

  Karmena

  Propping my head up on my elbow, I stared down at Adryen. Sweat glistened on his chest as he lay sprawled out at the foot of my bed, looking completely depleted of energy. As he should. The man had put in some serious work.

  “Can I get you something to drink? Or how about a sandwich?” I joked.

  He laughed weakly, sounding like it took every ounce of energy he had left to do even that.

  “Water, please,” he replied.

  Shaking my head I got up and made my way to the door. Glancing behind me, I chuckled at the sight of Adryen’s large body hanging upside down off the edge of my bed.

  As I walked away, he called, “Your ass even looks amazing from this angle!”

  I ran downstairs and grabbed two bottles of water, then ran back to my room. I was paranoid that Uncle Leeland would come back from the social earlier than expected and catch me—and Adryen—with our literal pants down.

  Back in my bedroom, Adryen had resituated himself so that he was upright and lying in the middle of the bed, beneath the covers. I passed him a bottle of water and climbed under the blanket with him. He downed almost the entire bottle in one go.

  “Someone was thirsty,” I said, smiling.

  It had been too long since I’d had good sex like we’d just had. I felt lighter and more carefree than I had in a long time.

  Draining the last of the water, Adryen stretched out a long arm and sat the empty bottle on the nightstand before draping the other arm around my shoulders.

  Prior to today, I was so anti-cuddle that if anti-cuddle rallies were a thing, you would have found me front and center with a scowl, a sign, and a bullhorn. And all it took was a Harley-riding, leather jacket-wearing, undercover freak in the sheets to ch
ange my perspective. It was time to tell him how I felt.

  Sighing, I relaxed into Adryen’s hold. I felt his eyes on me, but couldn’t bring myself to look at him. I didn’t want to be looking at him when I poured out my feelings.

  I waited another minute, steeling myself to do the scariest thing in the world for me: be vulnerable. Just as my lips parted, a soft snore filled the air. I looked over to find Adryen fast asleep.

  All I could do was smile. One-hitter-quitter pussy was both a blessing and a curse.

  I waited until I was sure he was in a deep sleep then slipped on a robe and crept downstairs. A quick glance at the clock revealed I still had about two hours before my uncle was supposed to be home. I set to work putting the food in containers and packing the fridge. Then I made sure the kitchen and dining room were back to their pristine conditions. Lord knows once my uncle got started fussing about the state of his house, he didn’t stop for hours.

  With an hour and a half to spare before the social was over, I eased up the stairs toward my bedroom, fully intending on waking Adryen up for another round. To my surprise, I walked into my room to find an empty bed. My eyes zeroed in on the nightstand on Adryen’s side of my bed. He’d drank his bottle of water and mine, so it was a safe guess where he probably was: the bathroom.

  I decided to straighten up a bit, folding my hastily discarded clothes first and sitting them on the couch. Bending down to pick up Adryen’s clothes, I noticed the corner of his wallet sticking out from beneath my bed. I picked it up, intending to put it back in his pants pocket. A piece of paper fell out, landing on the floor next to my foot. Frowning, I picked it up. Closer examination revealed that it was actually a newspaper article clipping.

  My knees started to crackle and pop, reminding me that I no longer had Megan The Stallion knees. I stood up, reading the headline, WOMAN DIES IN ARSON-LIT FIRE. POLICE HAVE NO SUSPECTS.

  As I finished reading the article, a knot of anxiety formed in my stomach.

  According to this article, Adryen’s ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Lewis, age twenty-nine, had died in a fire not of lung cancer like he’d told me that day at the fire station. And speaking of the fire station, my station was mentioned in the article, credited with putting out the first fire of 2019. But never mind that, the more important question was: why the fuck would he lie about how his ex-girlfriend died?

  My mind raced as I tried to figure out what the hell was going on here. I mean, personally speaking, the only reason I would lie about something like this was if I had something to do with it.

  Before I had time to brush the thought off as completely ridiculous, it took hold and planted roots in my brain. No one lied about the cause of death just because. A shiver ran down my spine at the same time the floorboard creaked.

  I whirled around.

  Adryen stood in my bedroom doorway in all his naked glory. I was still in shock from learning the truth about how Shaniqua had really died, that I wasn’t at all moved by the naked hunk standing before me.

  Instead, I looked at him with new eyes. I didn’t know a lot about Adryen Spence. We were just starting to get to know one another, after all. But now, now this article was causing me to call into question the little that I did know.

  Did Adryen have a fiery secret he was keeping from me?

  Commitment had a way of sneaking up on you.

  Maximilian Papadakis was living the good life. Women loved him and he loved them.

  * * *

  Sable Battleson liked law and order just as well as the next person. Everything had its place and that is where things belonged. Unfortunately she thought Max’s place was in her life and in her bed.

  * * *

  Max ran for the hills when he woke up one morning with the realization that his one night stand with Sable had been going on for over six months. He didn’t do relationships. Women started to get ideas when they were in a relationship. The next thing you know they would be talking about weddings and then baby names. Max shuddered at the idea and ran as far away from Sable as he could.

  * * *

  Since they worked in the same department that wasn’t as far.

  * * *

  Sable knew that Max was the one for her, but then he up and left her. Her pride stopped her from begging him to come back. She would be damned if she would lower herself to beg a many for anything. She was willing to give Max the time he needed to come to his sense. He wasn’t stupid. It wouldn’t take him long to know that she was the best thing to come into his life. And time was the one thing she had plenty of.

  * * *

  Or so she thought. One night of passion changed her nice orderly future into a world of chaos.

  1

  Six.

  Sable was beginning to hate the number six.

  The affects it was having on her life were brutal and she was tired.

  Correction, tired didn’t even describe how she has been feeling lately. Drained. Exhausted. Fucking ready to take a nap. This described how she felt better than the word tired.

  Six months ago, she took her sisters’ suggestion and moved from Denver to Colorado Springs. She accepted the position of Emergency Management Coordinator for the Emergency Management Department. The new position was a challenged made for her. Coordinating different departments and dispatching them to the various situations that required a diverse group of people to return the city to status quo. It was a challenge for her type A personality.

  She excelled at organization. Details were her life. Hell, she coordinated her sister's beautiful wedding to the love of her life in just six days three months ago. Three.

  Six is divisible by three. Fucking number.

  During the six hour long event she avoided the most gorgeous man to ever exist. He made her body tingle in ways she never knew possible. Her skin craved his touch. She was overcome with desire for even the smallest piece of his attention. It was not something she was used to dealing with. Her strong personality and take charge attitude gave her the confidence to go after any man that she wanted. She didn’t know what it was about this one that turned her into a ball of desire, panting at his feet.

  Maximilian Papadakis. A tall, broad shoulder man with a dick that wouldn’t stop, especially when he was teasing her with it.

  She closed her eyes in memory of the passion that hummed through her the night of her sister’s wedding. Sable’s impromptu non-wedding night rivaled that of her sister Onyx and her new groom, Zachariah Papadakis. If she knew how much that night was going to change her life then she would have never agreed to go back to her hotel room with the hot piece of man meat.

  Hell no. She would have avoided him like he was a five-alarm fire.

  But hindsight is twenty-twenty.

  She walked into her office and put her purse down. Booting up her computer. She needed to check her schedule for the day. The weather people were predicting a bad snowstorm blowing in over the mountains in the next couple of days.

  She made a mental to-do list.
r />   Gotta check the homeless shelters and see if they’re prepared for the influx of people the temperature drop will be bringing them.

  Are the snowplows ready? CDOT dropped the ball with the last snowstorm. They needed to get ahead of the snow before people got up and go to work. Not wait until they were already out of the roads and then attempt to plow. Whoever coordinated things for the last snowstorm was a few flakes short of a snowman. Things would have gone smoother if she had gotten out on the road with her snow shovel and cleared them herself.

  She just wished that people would stay off the roads when these storms hit. If they closed all the schools, then there was no reason for soccer moms to be on the road trying to get their little hellions an education. Let them sleep-in and go have another cup of coffee. When the military bases require only mission essential personnel to show up then if your job is to drive a tank then stay home. The Springs is not at war and we don’t need you to drive your tank down the interstate. Stay at home.

  Sable groaned as she looked at her calendar. Fuck. City Council meeting. She couldn’t deal with people. People were assholes and she may not be able to prevent the urge to throw up on them. Not today. She looked at her clock. Of course, it was nine oh six in the morning. She really hated the number six. She took another look at her calendar and smiled.
