Wet for Christmas: A Rockstar Romance Page 9

“You were here?” I asked in disbelief as he chuckled hoarsely.

“Fuck yes I was.” David told me, pulling back to gaze at me before claiming my lips with his. We needed to talk, needed to work some things out but my body and soul craved him. David kissed me until I was breathless, lifting me to take me to my room.

“I need a shower,” I murmured against his lips as he turned into my bathroom. We pressed together after he started the water, parting only to strip our clothes off. “I missed you,” David muttered as he pulled me under the spray after him, finding my neck with his lips. He kissed, sucked, and licked in between washing my skin tenderly. By the time I’d washed him, I was mad with lust and he lifted me into his arms.

I felt his mouth on mine as I wrapped my legs around his waist. He was hard against me and I cried out as he slid inside of me, stretching my tight pussy. “Mine,” he told me as he took me harder and faster. I held on tight, enjoying having him inside of me again as he rocked forward.

When I was crying out his name, David jerked forward, and I felt him come inside of me. This was not the way I should be handling this with him, but every nerve ending in my body was exploding right now. I breathed in as he slowly pulled out and let me down, holding me up. We dried off and dropped into my bed as we recovered from the passionate reunion.

“I didn’t call you when I went to my parent’s place. I was being an asshole and convinced myself that we needed a break or some such shit. I don’t even know anymore. I was going to come back and make it all up to you when I heard about the pictures.” His eyes were intent on me as I winced, making him lean forward to kiss me. “I dated Kristen in high school. Years ago. She came at me this trip talking about rekindling things and I couldn’t get my point across over the phone and through texts. I arranged dinner to clear things up once and for all, and it worked apart from there being a camera outside that followed me.”

I knew that I looked as hurt as the day I’d seen them and blushed. “I thought you went there to be with her. I wasn’t sure what was going on, but I wasn’t going to call you. I wasn’t going to be that girl that clings to someone that might not even be the real thing.”

“I fucked up, and I knew it. I knew that by not calling or anything, things looked even worse than they were. I wanted to come home as soon as I could and talk this out in person. I needed to touch you and feel your sweet mouth and your voice wasn’t going to be enough. I pulled up and saw that guy here claiming what was mine. I let him have what I thought it was you were offering. I thought he was better for you than I was.” David leaned in, kissing me hard as his hand stroked up my side.

“I turned him away that day. He brought some of my things and money to recoup our losses in canceling the wedding, but I didn’t want him back. I wanted you.” I told him as we stared at each other from the light of the bathroom. “Losing Kyle made me realize how deeply you made me feel for the first time with anybody in my life. If I couldn’t have that…. I guess I was going to be alone.”

“You’re it for me. I don’t want anyone else and I haven’t been with anyone else, Aubrey. Can we try this? I know it won’t be easy, but I want you so badly.”

“Yes,” I told him as we kissed again, rolling to his back so I could make love to him. We talked about everything in between the times our bodies were making up for lost time, getting everything out there.

  Chapter Thirteen

  David

  Six months later

I carried a box into my living room and set it down as Cammie and Aubrey laughed behind me. They walked in with bags over their arms and I ran a hand through my long hair.

She was finally moving into my place. Jacob was still here but gone more than ever and it was big enough for all of us. The last six months had been intense, and we’d worked so much out, including the fact that we were crazy in love with each other. We’d even gone public early on to get that out of the way.

I glanced back to see my girlfriend smiling at her sister as Brent followed us. He was moving into a building in this complex with Cammie since it was a bit bigger and newer than the one she shared with her roommate for a few years. “How much is left?” I asked as Aubrey met my eyes, grinning knowingly at me.

“Just a few boxes. Let’s order some pizza when we’re done,” Aubrey suggested as she walked over to me, wrapping her arms around my waist. I kissed her lips and smiled down at her as our eyes locked. I couldn’t wait for us to be alone, so we could christen the apartment as ours. Jake was on an extended trip with a band in Europe and we’d be on our own for a while. But for now, there was moving to do.

We finished up and ordered pizza, popping open beers as we settled down on the couches. Cammie and Brent took up one couch, and I cuddled Aubrey on the other one as she nibbled on a slice of pizza.

We talked about the upcoming tour to promote our newest album and the fact that we were headlining with two other bands. It was taking place at bigger venues with more fans and we’d been practicing daily to be ready for it. I was fucking exhausted but going to bed with Aubrey every night made it all worth it. I loved holding her and making love to her as much as my tired body would allow.

We finished eating and Brent gave Cammie a slow smile before lifting the beer to his mouth. “We should be getting back to our place and work on it.” We had moved them last week and there were still boxes scattered around. I knew that they weren’t going to touch any boxes of the moving variety and Aubrey giggled beside me. We weren’t either.

We walked them to the door, locking it before we put the leftover food away. We decided to clean up the bottles the next day and Aubrey led me by the hand to our bedroom. She’d been moving stuff in over the last few weeks and now I knew she was here to stay. I stopped her, and she turned to look at me for a long moment as I pulled her hair out of the messy bun. “I am so glad you’re here now.” I tugged her to me and slipped an arm around her waist as she kissed me softly.

“Me, too.” I told her as we moved apart for a second. We’d moved quickly after getting back together and I knew that things were going to be forever with Aubrey. I kissed her again and backed her towards the bed slowly as she wrapped her arms around my neck. “Do you need a shower?” That was something of a running joke between us now and she giggled.

“If you don’t mind a little sweat, I’m good.” I pushed her down on the bed and hovered over her as our kiss deepened. I was a changed man now. I was with the girl of my dreams and we were only moving forward. She was the best muse I’d ever had, and the fans knew how I felt about her through the music. I slipped her leggings off and ran my hands under her sweatshirt to feel her hot, damp skin as our tongues danced together.

“You know I don’t.” I stripped her completely and stood to toss aside my t-shirt as Aubrey let her hungry gaze slide over my skin. I loved the way she still looked at me and wiggled my workout pants down my legs as she giggled. I jumped beside her on the bed and kissed her mouth hard before moving down her neck. Aubrey gripped the sheets as she leaned her head back, moaning my name.

“I don’t believe that I’m here with you,” Aubrey murmured as I sucked her skin between my teeth.

“I wouldn’t change it for anything,” I assured her as I slid a hand over her pebbled nipple. I had her here in my home now and I smiled at the next step. First, I had to worship those gorgeous curves and sweet skin. I lowered my mouth to her breast, sucking her nipple between my teeth as she let out a soft moan. I kissed down her stomach and tasted her folds, finding her drenched for me. I made her come with my tongue against her clit, drinking her in before she was begging me to fuck her. Aubrey had grown into herself over the last several months and was living and trying new things with me. Kyle was a fool and looked for his pleasure elsewhere when he had everything right in front of him. But because of his stupidity, she was now mine.

We moved together, and she got on her knees for me before I positioned myself behind her. I groaned as I slid inside of her, feeling her gr
ip me tightly. I closed my eyes as I pushed forward, feeling her ass pushing back to meet my thrusts. “You’re perfect,” I told her as one hand squeezed her hip tightly. I kept fucking her, burying myself as we both cried out.

When we were done, we dropped beside each other on the large bed. I watched as she breathed deeply, curled up on her side as she let her eyes drop closed. “I am staying here. I am living here.” She whispered as I tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

“How about going on tour with us?” Aubrey’s eyes popped open as I grinned at her.

“What?” She asked as I propped myself up on one elbow.

“We’re getting a bigger tour bus with this gig. I could even get one of my own if I wanted to because the album did well, and every venue is sold out. I just want you there and since you can work from anywhere, I thought I’d ask.” Aubrey pressed forward, kissing me hard.

“I’d love that,” she replied as I pressed against her and rolled her to her back. “Where are you going?” She knew about the tour but not the details and I told her that I’d show her the schedule when I was done with her.

  Chapter Fourteen

  Aubrey

  Three Months Later

Life on the road was hectic, but I loved it. I wrote during the night hours to see David as much as possible with his schedule. We slept during the day when we were traveling and took time off to go sightseeing in some better cities.

Europe was stunning. I finished a lot of work before that leg of the tour, so we could see as much as possible. David took me everywhere I wanted to go and put up with all my pictures, some of which I shared on the band’s social media. They liked seeing what their idols were up to though I kept myself out of the feed, for the most part. We were open about being together but didn’t rub it in. David preferred as much privacy as he could get now.

Cammie had flown over to spend some time in Europe with us, specifically Paris. She got a room with Brent at the same hotel that we were at and both had a gorgeous view of the radiant Eiffel Tower. This was a dream that I was living, and I looked through the open French doors to see the view as I got ready for a nice dinner. I was wearing a flowing dress and heels with my hair down, feeling beautiful and loved. Someone walked behind me and wrapped their arms around my waist as I laughed softly.

David smelled incredible after his shower. I reached up to stroke his tousled hair that was down to his shoulders, smiling as my fingers touched the soft strands. “Hi,” I told him as he pulled me closer.

“Hey, baby. You’re gorgeous.” He told me as I felt his lips on my neck. “Ready for dinner?”

“I think so,” I replied as I turned to face him. He kissed my stained lips, and I wrapped my arms around his neck tightly. I felt us moving but his lips distracted me until I felt the breeze against my skin. David pushed me against the wall and I laughed softly. “What are you doing?”

“You have completed me, Aubrey. From the moment I met you, I knew that you were under my skin. I knew that you were a permanent part of my heart.” I looked at him in shock as he pulled back and dropped to his knees. “I love you in my life and my house. I love that you’re living my dream with me here and everywhere else that we go.” Tears filled my eyes as he slipped his hand into my pocket. “I want you to be forever for me, Aubrey. I want to write songs about you for the rest of my career. Will you be my wife?” I dropped to my own knees as he pulled something from his pocket, catching a glimpse of something sparkling in the moonlight.

“David, yes. I want to marry you.” The past with Kyle seemed to fade even further as I kissed him. There was none of the magic with him that I had in David’s arms despite the fact that it could be difficult at times. He pulled away enough to slip the ring on my finger and I gazed down at the band with small, shimmering diamonds and a thin band encrusted with stones as well. It was somehow delicate even with all the stones and absolutely perfect. “Oh my God.”

“I love you.” We’d told each other that weeks after getting back together and never stopped reminding the other of our feelings. David was romantic in all the right ways from his words to his actions that made me feel like a princess.

“I love you so much,” I promised him as I cupped his face. We kissed and murmured romantic words to each other until David told me that we were going to be late for a celebratory dinner. I jumped up to fix my appearance before realizing how happy I looked in the circular mirror. I added some gloss and turned to reach out for David’s hand. “Let’s go. I can’t wait to tell Cammie and Brent!”

We left the hotel and walked down the street to the restaurant, hands entwined as we looked around the city. It was lit with soft lights on the buildings and lining the streets and I smiled as I realized that I’d just had the perfect proposal.

I had the perfect man and a magical life. I glanced up at the sky to see a shooting star in the clear sky, smiling as it flashed across the blackness for several seconds. Something told me that it was Mom’s way of telling her that she was here, and I licked my lips slowly. “I love you, Mom.” I whispered as I kept looking up at the sky above me. I walked faster, needing to share this with my sister, mom, and best friend.

I knew that my life was beginning again, and that I was forming a family as I walked forward. Mom was with me every step of the way, but I needed my sister as I twisted the ring around my finger. “Cammie!” I called out. When I saw them we rushed forward and I nearly burst with our news as David followed me.

  This was my life.

  This was my love.

  Chapter Fifteen

  David

I woke up to the phone ringing in the hotel room, filling the empty space with its shrill noise. I blinked and turned in the big bed to reach for it, mumbling something into the phone. “Is this David?” A female voice asked as I rolled my eyes and hung up the receiver. I knew better than to answer the hotel phone, but any sound woke me up all too easily right now.

I was on another tour in Europe right now with the band and missing Aubrey more than ever. She toured with me as much as she could but was helping her sister Cammie with the catering business now. Sarah was pregnant and taking her maternity leave and Aubrey was as thick as thieves with her sister. They always had been before I met her and as much as I wanted to steal her away from the world, I stepped back and allowed her space. It was natural for me to want her with me as much as possible with my traveling schedule and lack of seeing her beautiful face. Aubrey was the one woman that claimed me from the first night and we’d worked through a lot over the last several months. I hated being away from her and she felt the same way about me, but we agreed that she was going to keep several aspects of her own life. Fans like the one that just called my room definitely fucked things up with their aggressive way of showing me they were a big fan. Some of the pictures that popped up on the media sites looked so much worse than they were and there was always gossip even without them.

I sighed as I thought back to the photo that nearly ended things with Aubrey. My ex wanted to talk when I was visiting my family and I agreed to dinner to get everything cleared up in a public place. She’d been calling the house constantly and I wanted to set things straight, but the paparazzi found us. It looked like I was having an intimate dinner more than rejecting her and Aubrey took the bait. Things got more fucked up with a misunderstanding about her ex and it took me some time to fix everything, but we did.

Our wedding was six months away in September. We picked a great outdoor spot overlooking the water with an indoor option, just in case. The weather in the PNW could be sketchy at times but I was gunning for the outside venue. She was going to look so beautiful in that light when I made her my wife. I looked at the clock in the dark room, seeing that it was only three in the morning as I let out a sigh. This bed was so empty and cold, but I knew she was at work right now. I called down to the front desk and told them to block all calls to my room, regardless of the name they used to get through. That was explained from the start of my stay at every ho
tel during every tour, but some of the staff let it slide. I’d walked in to see them in my room sometimes, both men and women.

I turned to my side in the dark room, reaching for the shirt that she wore to bed at home. It smelled like Aubrey and I breathed her in, wishing she was here for me to touch and kiss. I’d call her later when she was off work and tried to shut my mind off. I had a lot of press with radio and some talk shows to promote the tour even though our shows sold out a lot. It seemed like a waste of time, but we worked with the company that signed us as needed. They were making us a lot of money and vice versa. It was all part of the job. I fell asleep about an hour later after turning on some music, grumpy as fuck when my alarm chimed three hours later.

  Chapter Sixteen

  Aubrey

I pulled my hair into a neat bun before donning the uniform of the catering company. I didn’t mind helping out my sister during Sarah’s absence even though I was writing as much as ever right now. I was working on more than fiction now and opening a lot of doors. I needed to do something to keep myself busy while David was away. His absence still killed me a year into living with him. I added a hint of mascara and walked to the living room to put on my comfortable black shoes. We were working a corporate event tonight and it was going to be long.

Jake wasn’t home right now since he was away on some tropical island, working and vacationing with his girlfriend Vanessa. I didn’t see a lot of him even living here but we got on well when he was home. He was like a surfer version of David, all tan and relaxed. I enjoyed just spending evenings at home with the both of them as they bickered and laughed together while I observed their interaction. It reminded me so much of Cammie and me. I dropped my purse over my shoulder and walked out of the condo, locking the door behind me as I let out a soft sigh.
