He was about to return to Celestial Foothill Gardens when his phone started ringing.

He saw that the call was from his uncle in Tang Village.

Tang Hao was a little surprised. “Hello, Uncle! Is there anything?”

“Lil Hao!” His uncle was heard over the phone. His voice was hoarse and sounded a little anxious.

Tang Hao was immediately worried. “Did something happen, Uncle?”

His uncle was silent for a moment, then said, “Sigh! Lil Hao, you haven’t been back to Tang Village for a very long time. That’s why you don’t know that there’s a big emergency in the village.”

“What happened, Uncle?” Tang Hao’s expression turned grim.

“It’s like this. A while ago, a boss named Hu came to our village and said he wanted to buy a piece of land to build a mansion with a mountain view. His offer was too low, and none of the villagers wanted to sell their land to him. This Boss Hu is a gangster, and he’s been bringing groups of hooligans to disturb us. He even brought a bulldozer to raze some old houses lately.

“The villagers are all very angry, and a fight broke out. A few people were injured.”

Tang Hao’s face darkened when he heard that.

Tang Village was where he was born. He could not tolerate someone running rampant there.

“Isn’t that forced eviction which is illegal? Why didn’t they call the police?” He said grimly.

“Sigh! Don’t you know, Lil Hao, that this Boss Hu isn’t your average rich boss? He’s well-connected politically. There’s no use calling the police!” His uncle sighed again.

“Lil Hao, you should be connected with many big bosses, right? Can you come up with a solution?”

Tang Hao thought for a while and said, “What connections does that Boss Hu have?”

“According to him, he’s very good friends with the brother-in-law of the Secretary in the district. Think about it: The Secretary! What’s the use of calling the police?”

His uncle sounded more and more miserable as he spoke.

“The Secretary!” Tang Hao furrowed his brows.

The Secretary that his uncle mentioned was not Secretary Lin. Secretary Lin did not have a brother-in-law. It must have been the new Secretary that replaced Secretary Lin. His name was Qian Ziqiang and he was transferred to Westridge District from another district.

He had only been in the position for about half a month. Tang Hao had never met him before, and so he was not familiar with his character.

“Don’t worry, Uncle. I’ll come over now,” Tang Hao said after thinking for a while.

After ending the call, Tang Hao called Han Yutong and they went together to Tang Village.

When they arrived at Tang Village, a group of people was crowded at the entrance, looking at the road.

Everyone was excited when they saw the car come near.

“Let’s stop here!” Tang Hao said.

Then, he opened the door and walked out.

  The atmosphere immediately livened up.

  “It’s Lil Hao! He’s back!”

“Wow, that car must be very expensive! Lil Hao has struck a fortune!”

Everyone’s eyes were filled with admiration as they looked at Tang Hao.

When Han Yutong got out of the car, the crowd fell into silence. Some villagers went cross-eyed when they saw a beautiful, trendy woman for the first time.

Some men stole a few more glances and became more envious of Tang Hao. A group of middle-aged mothers started gossiping.

“What a fine girl! She must be Tang Hao’s girlfriend!”

“No, no, I think she’s his mistress!”

The discussion among the middle-aged women was spreading like wildfire.

Han Yutong blushed when she overheard what they said.

Tang Hao was speechless. He coughed lightly and walked toward the crowd.

“You’re here, Lil Hao!” Tang Dashun, the village elder, went up to greet him. They shook hands eagerly.

“You’re the pride of Tang Village now, Lil Hao!” The village elder said heartily.

A group of villagers came behind him and all shook hands eagerly with Tang Hao.

In the crowd, his aunt next door felt envious as she witnessed that scene.

In her eyes, Tang Hao had always been a hooligan that deserved no respect. Now he was like a VIP that everyone wanted to make friends with.

She shifted her gaze toward the black car and at Han Yutong and felt even more envious than ever.

She had prided herself with her son Bowen. Bowen was an elite student, while Tang Hao was only a piece of useless trash who did not graduate high school.

However, she was now feeling ashamed of herself, and even regretting that she did not treat Tang Hao better when she had the chance.

Tang Village had been bustling with activity ever since Tang Hao arrived.

Many more villagers came out of their houses and greeted Tang Hao. The scene at the village entrance was incredibly crowded.

“Alright, alright! I think that’s enough for now! I asked Tang Hao to come back here for serious business,” Tang Dashun shouted.

The noise in the crowd slowly died down.

“Lil Hao, have you heard about the incident from Dayong?” Tang Dashun said to Tang Hao.

Tang Hao nodded. “Yup, Uncle told me everything.”

Tang Dashun sighed and looked at Tang Hao miserably. “You’ve got to think of something, Lil Hao! The village will soon be ruined. That group of bastards wants half of the village.

“They’ll come to cause trouble if we don’t sign the contract. How can we live in peace?

“Look at that. It’s the handiwork of those hooligans!”

Tang Dashun pointed indignantly at a few men with bandaged arms in the crowd.

“Those bastards are making a mockery out of the law!”

“You’ve got to help us, Lil Hao!” The villagers shouted.

Tang Hao’s face darkened when he saw the injured villagers.

“Lil Hao, aren’t you acquainted with many big bosses? Can you get a newspaper or a television channel to report on this? When we publicize the issue, the bunch of hooligans won’t be so brazen,” a villager said.

“That won’t do! That Hu bastard has someone backing him, and the news will be suppressed. How about if we put it on the Internet? Once the news goes viral, it’ll be more powerful than television.”

The villagers discussed the incident agitatedly.

“What do you think, Lil Hao?” Tang Dashun said.

Tang Hao waved his hands to get the villagers to calm down. “Don’t worry, I’ll handle this issue. We don’t need newspapers or the Internet to solve this.”

Many villagers breathed a sigh of relief when they heard Tang Hao say so, while many others looked doubtful.

“Lil Hao, that Hu guy won’t be easy to handle. He’s connected with the Secretary of the district.”

In the villagers’ eyes, the District Secretary was as high-ranked a person can be.

“I know that. Don’t worry!” Tang Hao said with a comforting smile.

“What ideas do you have, Lil Hao?” Tang Dashun asked.

“That Hu guy might have someone backing him, but I have my connections too,” Tang Hao said.

The villagers furrowed their brows when they heard that.

The Hu guy had the Secretary backing him. In their eyes, no matter how well-connected Lil Hao might be, they would not be as high-ranked as the District Secretary!

“I don’t think that’s the way. We’ll have to put the news on TV!”

“No, I think we should put it on the Internet.”

  Many villagers shook their heads.

Even Tang Dashun was hesitant. “Lil Hao, I think you should look for a television channel! That should give us a better chance. That Hu guy has a high-ranked official backing him. You won’t
beat him that way.”

Tang Hao laughed. “I’ve said that I have a solution, Elder. Don’t you worry.”

“But…” Tang Dashun was still doubtful.

“Elder, do you know the full name of that Hu guy?” Tang Hao said.

“Um… I don’t know. I only know that his surname is Hu and he’s quite fat. He’s arrogant too! A bully indeed!” Tang Dashun said indignantly, “Right. It’s about time that he shows up.”

“I’ll be meeting him soon then!” Tang Hao said.

Then, Tang Dashun brought Tang Hao to the west side of the village.

That area was originally a farm. It had all been devastated and the place was a mess. Some of the farmland had been covered by sand, and the houses next to it were demolished.

Tang Hao was livid when he saw that.

“They’ve gone overboard!” Han Yutong was also angry.

“Isn’t that so!” Tang Dashun sighed.

About twenty minutes later, a convoy of cars came into the village from the road next to the farm.

The car in the lead was a black BMW. A few minivans followed behind, and farther behind them were two trucks with full loads of sand.

  “They’re here! Those bastards!”

  “Everyone, to arms!”

The crowd of villagers picked up hoes, sickles, and cleavers. They ran toward the road. It was a rather spectacular scene.

“Follow me closely!” Tang Hao told Han Yutong.

He was afraid that she might get hurt if there was a fight.

Han Yutong was shocked. Something flashed in her eyes. Then, she nodded and followed Tang Hao closely.

When the villagers gathered on the road, the convoy had arrived at the entrance to the village.

The black BMW stopped. The car door opened, and a middle-aged man stepped out.

The man was slightly short but very plump. He wore a business suit. He had a flat nose and a pimpled face which was extremely ugly. He wore a thick gold chain on his equally thick neck.

His ten fingers were adorned with gold rings.

Tang Hao noticed the man from afar and was shocked.

  Then, his expression became curious.

Who was that fat man, if not for Hu Dahai? He was the person that gave Yan’er’s family trouble back in Dragonrock Village.

‘That guy never learns!’ Tang Hao thought.

Hu Dahai had tried to force Yan’er to marry him to cancel her family’s debt. Now, he was involved in forced eviction at Tang Village.

Tang Hao was also a little suspicious. Hu Dahai was from Jade Town, and he could tyrannize Dragonrock Village because his elder sister’s husband was the superintendent of the town police station. After that incident, that brother-in-law of his had been sacked, and his businesses were shuttered because of Liu Dajun’s meddling. He should have been in a difficult situation

However, Hu Dahai stood in front of him, more arrogant than ever!

Hu Dahai walked away from his car toward the crowd while smoothing his moussed hair.

He glanced at the roadside and laughed with disdain. “A bunch of unruly peasants!”

He clapped his hands. The doors of the minivans opened and hooligans flooded out of the minivans.

They all carried steel bats in their hands and they stood in formation behind Hu Dahai.

Hu Dahai grinned. He looked especially arrogant.

He took one forward step then yelled at the villagers. “What do you intend to do, you unruly mob? Some of you are carrying sickles, and some of you are carrying cleavers. Do you want to pick a fight?

“Let me tell you, there’s no use resisting. This piece of land will surely be mine. You’ll have to sign this contract, whether you like it or not!

“If you can cooperate and sign the contract, then all of us will leave here happy. Otherwise… Hmph! You can prepare to die slow and painful deaths! Don’t you know who I am? I’m well-connected with the Secretary. I’m good friends with his younger sister’s husband.

“If you try to resist, do you believe me if I say that I send all of you to jail with just one phone call?”

Hu Dahai roared as he glared at the villagers with big, round eyes.

The villagers all fell silent. They all seemed afraid.

Hu Dahai became more arrogant when he saw that. “All of you are unruly peasants! Don’t think that I’m afraid of you all! You’re too weak to oppose me!

“Why are you still standing there? Put down the weapons in your hands! Otherwise, I’ll get the police to arrest you!”

Hu Dahai glared angrily and he became even more arrogant.

Several villagers put down the farming equipment in their hands.

“That’s how it should be! Everyone can leave happy if you can cooperate!” Hu Dahai said with unbridled laughter.

Suddenly, a stone flew from the crowd and smacked Hu Dahai’s forehead.

Chapter 148 - My Boss Knows Kung Fu

  Clunk!

The stone hit Hu Dahai’s forehead squarely.

“Oww!” Hu Dahai cried in pain. He clutched his forehead in a daze.

“Dammit, who did that? If you dare to throw the stone, you’d better have the balls to admit to it! I’ll kill you!” Hu Dahai screamed furiously.

“I was the one who threw the stone. What are you going to do about it?”

A roar was heard among the crowd.

Then, a boy in a white button-down shirt emerged from the crowd. Behind him was a beautiful woman in office wear.

Hu Dahai turned to look in that direction. His eyes naturally fell on the beautiful woman first and immediately went cross-eyed. His perverted gaze hovered between her voluptuous twin peaks and her flawless stockinged legs.

He swallowed a mouthful of saliva in a rather uncouth manner.

“Mas… Masterpiece!” He mumbled, and his expression became even more perverted.

He came to his senses a long while after. He wiped the drool away from his chin, then turned to look at Tang Hao.

He immediately jumped. “It’s you! You’re that bastard!” He yelled with surprise.

Then, he gritted his teeth and displayed an extremely vicious expression.

His eyes were burning with hatred.

How would he not recognize that filthy kid? He would even recognize Tang Hao even if he were burned to ashes.

That kid ruined everything that he had. The girl that was about to become his bride had slipped away. His brother-in-law in the police station was sacked. Even his business was shuttered.

He cried silent tears when he recalled those miserable days, and he hated the boy even more.

All the villagers had doubtful looks on their faces when they heard Hu Dahai yell at Tang Hao.

‘Does that guy know Lil Hao?’

Tang Hao walked forward in big strides. “You still remember me, Hu Dahai!” He said curiously, “You have a good memory!”

Hu Dahai became even angrier. The veins on his forehead bulged and pulsed.

“Why wouldn’t I remember you, you filthy kid? You’re the one who ruined me. I’ll always remember that grudge!” Hu Dahai said viciously.

Then, he smirked. “Haha, I bet you didn’t expect that I, Hu Dahai, is making my comeback! I’m not like what I used to be…”

“Is that so?” Tang Hao examined him and joked, “I don’t think I can see the difference. You’re still as fat and ugly as before!”

Hu Dahai nearly spewed smoke out of his nostrils and ears when he heard that.

“You… You… You dare mock me?” Hu Dahai roared. His face was contorted with rage.

“Not only I’m mocking you, but I’ll beat you too!”

Tang Hao narrowed his eyes, then lifted a palm and delivered a big slap to his face.

“This is Tang Village, where I was born. I’ll never forgive you if you dare bully my people!”

  Slap!

The slap hit him squarely on his cheek.

Hu Dahai cried out in pain. He stumbled a few steps backward an
d fell sitting on the ground.

He sat there covering his face with his hands.

He could not believe that he was slapped by that bastard kid in public once more.

Grudges old and new returned at that moment. His entire body trembled with rage as his sanity was pushed closer toward the brink.

“You… You dare hit me? Do you think that I won’t retaliate, Tang kid? I’m not like before. I have the Secretary backing me. No one in Westridge District can stop me.

“As for you, your backing is already gone! Can he still save you?

“I’ll make sure that you’re dead today! And the entire Tang Village too!”

Hu Dahai struggled to get off the ground. His hatred was already through the roof.

Then, he turned around and roared at the hooligans behind him. “Why are you still standing there like idiots? Everyone, get him! Beat him up within an inch of his life!”

The bunch of hooligans came to their senses. Their faces grew vicious as they surrounded Tang Hao.

“Aren’t you a great fighter, you filthy kid? I’d like to see you fight your way out of this group!” Hu Dahai said viciously. His eyes flashed with glee.

“President Tang!” Han Yutong cried out. She looked frantic.

The villagers were becoming nervous, too.

“What do you want?” Tang Dashun, the village elder, roared. He lifted his hoe and was going to charge forward.

Tang Hao lifted a hand and said calmly, “Don’t worry, Elder, just step back. I can handle this myself!”

Tang Dashun was stunned. He turned to count the number of hooligans that were surrounding Tang Hao. One, two, three… he lost count. There should be about seventy to eighty people there.

All of them looked well-built and strong, and they all wielded steel bats. How could Lil Hao stand a chance against them all?

  Was Lil Hao going crazy?

Tang Dashun was not the only one who thought so. The other villagers were thinking of the same thing.

“President Tang!” Han Yutong shouted nervously. She stepped forward and pulled his shirt sleeve. She also thought that her boss had lost his mind. Other people would have already thought of running away!
