He was more afraid of hurting Teacher Jiang and the others.

“It’s not good with too many women around!”

He looked up at the night sky and sighed.

At that moment, he was a little envious of Qin Gang’s debauchery. He had a lot of fun and was not too concerned about sentiments.

However, he was not that kind of person. He could not do that.

  He continued walking dejectedly.

Chapter 633 - The New Divine Eagle

The next eight days passed in the blink of an eye.

Tian Qiuming’s drug incident had caused a stir on the Internet. It had also implicated many celebrities, which caused an uproar in public opinion.

After a month of screenings, the movie finally closed with total earnings of 2.1 billion yuan.

When the box office statistics were out, the Internet was filled with congratulatory voices.

That day, Tang Hao went to Haotian Pictures to attend the celebration party.

Making 2.1 billion yuan in the box office had never crossed his mind. All he wanted to do was to make a better movie than Tian Qiuming.

The great success was totally unexpected.

However, the first victory would make any future developments a tough challenge.

The first movie was a runaway success. If the next movie had flaws, it would disappoint the fans and even attract negative criticism.

Sometimes, it was not a good thing to start from a high starting point.

After the celebration party, Tang Hao, Liu Yan, Zhuo Hong, Trendy Taoist Master, and Shabby Taoist Master discussed the future development plan for a long time.

It was certain that they would film the sequel, but they need to be thoroughly prepared.

The company had to recruit writers, directors, and other people.

Tang Hao’s idea was to recruit a few famous figures to stir up the hype. They needed to have a certain level of directorial prowess and could not have produced trash movies.

At the same time, they would handpick a group of outstanding young actors, sign them, and train them.

The idea was unanimously agreed upon by Liu Yan and the others.

After a long discussion, Tang Hao left.

It was dark outside when he got out of the company building. Dark clouds were piling up, and the air was stifling.

  “A storm is coming!”

Tang Hao looked at the sky, got in the car, and drove home.

As soon as he got home, it started to rain outside. It was only five o’clock in the afternoon, but the sky was already as dark as night. Strong winds were roaring outside.

The sound of thunderclaps could be heard.

“It’s raining! Hurry up and put away your laundry!”

Someone shouted from the opposite building.

Tang Hao was surprised. He quickly walked to the balcony and collected his laundry from the clothesline.

  Crack!

A bolt of lightning parted the dark sky.

Then, he could hear a thunderclap.

“Damn! It’s raining so hard!” Tang Hao muttered, walked back inside, and placed his clothes away.

He walked to the balcony and enjoyed the cool breeze.

Just as he was about to walk back into the apartment, he suddenly saw a bolt of lightning in the sky not far away. What was strange was that the bolt of lightning appeared at a low altitude, and it was heading straight toward his residential area.

When it reached his residential area, it gradually descended and fell down.

  Tang Hao was startled.

  Then, his expression changed.

He jumped over the railing and flew out.

He was very fast, the sky was dark, and the rain was heavy. He was not worried about being seen by others.

After a moment, he landed on the road in front of the residential area.

The rain was pouring, and he could not see very well. He narrowed his eyes and looked around. He saw a figure staggering over from the roadside not far away.

She wore a white dress and had a head full of golden hair. It was the Divine Eagle.

At that moment, her entire body was drenched, and her face was as pale as a sheet. There were terrifying bloodstains all over her body.

She staggered and seemed as if she could fall at any moment.

Tang Hao’s expression changed. Something indeed had happened to her.

  He quickly walked toward her.

When she heard the movement, she lifted her head and looked at him.

She heaved a sigh of relief and mumbled, “Save… save me…”

After that, she lost all her strength and fell to the ground.

Tang Hao rushed forward and helped her up.

She had lost consciousness. Her eyes were shut tight, and her body was as cold as ice.

“Tsk!” Tang Hao frowned as he held her.

Clearly, this was a huge problem.

Given how powerful she was and how badly she was defeated, her opponent must be very powerful. Perhaps, they might be from the previous generation. If he harbored her, that would be courting trouble.

However, he could not just stand by and watch her die.

Just as he was about to pick her up and return home, a figure appeared at the other end of the street. He was dressed in a strange black robe, and a staff could be seen in his right sleeve.

Lightning crackled on the tip of the staff.

  “Let her go!”

He shouted in a deep voice.

As the figure walked closer, his ghastly, old face came into view.

He was an old warlock. From his qi aura, Tang Hao could tell that he was at the peak of the State of Qi Channeling, about the same as the elderly Taoist masters of Mao Mountain.

Tang Hao could discern his cultivation base at a glance.

  ‘It’s not him!’

The warlock was not the one who defeated her. Perhaps he was there to finish her off.

He saw that Tang Hao did not move and thought that he was scared out of his wits.

“There’s no other way. You saw me, so I’ll have to kill you!” He muttered.

Then, he laughed mockingly. “You’re just a yellow pig. I can just kill you off, no big deal.”

As he said that, he laughed sinisterly. His face was ghastly, and his hooked nose was especially eye-catching.

“Today’s not your lucky day, kid!” He raised his right hand which held his staff.

Lightning crackled on the tip of the staff, then sprang at Tang Hao.

He seemed excited as if he could already see that the kid was charred black by the lightning and dying in agony.

However, nothing happened. The lightning suddenly dissipated as soon as it got close.

He was instantly stunned, and his eyes opened wide.

‘What the hell is going on?’

At the same time, Tang Hao put down the jade pendant in his arms and smirked coldly. “I think it’s not your lucky day! How dare you insult Huaxia in front of me? How brazen!”

The warlock laughed. “So what about it, you brat? What are you going to do, you yellow pig? All you Huaxia people are just a bunch of yellow pigs and weaklings…”

  His voice suddenly choked.

Then, his eyes suddenly widened, and his face was contorted out of fear.

  “You, you, you… you are…”

He was tongue-tied. He could not say that word no matter how hard he tried.

  “That’s right! It’s me!”

Tang Hao smirked coldly. He flicked his wrist and a wave of jade talismans shot out. The explosions caused the warlock to vomit blood, fly backward, and fall to the ground.

His face was extremely pale, exuding extreme terror.

‘Why is the Dragon of Huaxia here?

‘This is too much of a coincidence!

‘No, that b*tch came here to look for him! She must have already known that guy’s identity!’

“You… don’t do anything reckless. I’m a member of the Council
of Elders. If you dare lay a finger on me, you’re declaring war!” He struggled and retreated.

Tang Hao’s expression remained cold. He walked forward and stepped on his face.

“Aren’t you very arrogant? Hmph! You’ve crossed the wrong person!”

After kicking the warlock’s face hard and stomping on it a few times, Tang Hao said, “What’s going on? Isn’t she the treasure of Merrica?”

“Hahaha! Treasure? She’s not a treasure anymore. She’s just a loser. She doesn’t have the right to be the Divine Eagle. Now, a new Divine Eagle is born.

“Lord Caesar is much more powerful than her. You won’t be a match for him. Just you wait. Lord Caesar will come for you to avenge our honor,” the warlock roared ferociously.

Chapter 634 - This Is Too Much

Tang Hao threw a talisman at the warlock and reduced him to ashes.

“Caesar? What a pretentious name!” Tang Hao turned around and muttered.

He had gained enough information from the interrogation earlier. It turned out to be an internal conflict among the warlocks.

The Witch’s Heart was the supreme treasure of White Mountain. It was passed down from generation to generation, and there would be several contenders every time that happened.

Caesar was one of the contenders in the current generation. However, he was defeated by Thea, who was eventually chosen by the Witch’s Heart.

Last year, Tang Hao went to Merrica and caused a ruckus. He defeated Thea, and the entire Merrican cultivation world was in an uproar.

Caesar’s family grasped the opportunity. They wanted to strip Thea of the Witch’s Heart and replace the Divine Eagle.

At that time, not many people paid attention to them. Replacing the Divine Eagle was unprecedented.

However, they were not discouraged. They schemed in secret for a long time and bribed many members of the Council of Elders. The council passed the resolution and stripped Thea of the Witch’s Heart.

Not only had Caesar wanted her Witch’s Heart, but he also wanted her body. He imprisoned her, but she escaped and ran to Huaxia.

  “This is… too much!”

Tang Hao grimaced, feeling a little helpless.

In the end, it was all because of him. In any case, he felt like an innocent victim of circumstances.

  “Whatever. I’ll help her!”

Tang Hao looked to his left and right. The rain was very heavy, and the visibility was very low. Moreover, they were in a corner, so no one noticed them.

He walked over, carried her on his back, took out an umbrella, and brought her home.

After placing her on the couch, Tang Hao took a shower and changed into a clean set of clothes.

Then, he returned to the living room and checked on her condition.

She was in terrible condition. Not only was she physically weak, but her cultivation base also had weakened. It seemed that depriving her of the Witch’s Heart had caused her serious damage.

After feeding her a few pills, her condition improved, but she did not wake up.

Tang Hao estimated that she would not regain consciousness that soon.

He glanced at her body and was stunned.

Her entire body was drenched and her clothes were torn. She had to change!

How was he going to do it though?

He started to feel awkward. The white dress that clung to her skin was almost translucent. Her impeccable figure was clearly visible.

Tang Hao retracted his gaze and pondered for a while. He first used a towel to wipe her body, then treated her wounds.

Then, he tore her white dress with his eyes closed, wiped her body, and covered her with a blanket.

After that, he dried her hair.

After doing all that, Tang Hao heaved a sigh of relief.

At ten o’clock, she moaned and slowly came to.

She opened her eyes, still feeling a little dazed. She rubbed her eyes, sat up, looked around, and muttered, “This is…”

  “You’re awake!”

Tang Hao walked out of his room. She was surprised to see him.

  “It’s you!”

She immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

However, she felt that something was amiss when a cool breeze blew across her bare skin. She looked down and blushed intensely.

She was not wearing anything under the blanket.

She cried out in surprise. Then, she grabbed the blanket and curled up into a ball.

Her fair cheeks were as red as a monkey’s butt.

  Tang Hao stood there awkwardly.

“You… you took them off?” She stammered.

“Yes! But I didn’t see anything. My eyes were closed,” Tang Hao quickly explained.

  “Oh!” She replied.

The two fell silent, and the atmosphere was a little awkward.

After a while, she sat up with the quilt wrapped around her and whispered, “Do you have… clothes?”

Tang Hao immediately pointed to a set of clothes on the coffee table beside her.

Then, he turned around and walked into the room. After a while, he heard her shout, “I’m done!”

Tang Hao walked into the living room. She had changed her clothes and was straightening her long golden hair.

“Where’s the person who chased me?” She asked.

  “He’s dead, of course!”

Tang Hao walked over and sat down on the couch in front of her.

“Oh!” She replied and sat down. Her expression was stiff, and her gaze was forlorn.

In the past, she was the treasure of White Mountain, but she had fallen from grace.

Everyone had abandoned her. Those who had once been closest to her had all betrayed her.

All that happened because Tang Hao had defeated her.

However, she could not hate him. The feeling was rather peculiar.

It was that feeling that compelled her to look for him in Huaxia. Even though she had been rejected that time, she had come to look for him in her despair.

Apart from him, she had no one else she could rely on.

“You saved me anyway!” She chuckled softly.

“I couldn’t stand him insulting me and Huaxia. He deserves to die!” Tang Hao said resentfully.

“Oh, right, what are you going to do now? I’ve heard about your situation.”

Thea was stunned and somewhat at a loss.

She could not return to Merrica, and it seemed that none of the other places were safe either. After thinking about it, Huaxia would be the safest place.

She had already made arrangements for that. However, she would need him to agree to it.

She looked at Tang Hao and stammered, “I have nowhere else to go. Can you… take me in? I want to stay here.”

“Huh?” Tang Hao was startled and blurted out, “That’s not very appropriate!”

She bit her lip, and her eyes began to shine with tears. “I’m an orphan. I grew up in White Mountain since I was young. I can’t go back there. Other places aren’t safe either. I really have nowhere else to go.”

  “Well…”

Tang Hao was at a loss. He could not refuse after hearing the word “orphan.”

After thinking for a while, he said, “I can’t let you stay in my house, but you can stay nearby. As long as you’re in Province Z, I can keep you safe. By the way, do you have any money or identification?”

“I’ve planned for the eventuality that I need to hide in Huaxia. As for identity…” she smiled and said mysteriously, “You’ll know in a few days.”

Tang Hao was stunned. He had a bad feeling about that.

After chatting for a while, she stood up and left.

“Take this!” Tang Hao took out a blood jade bead and handed it to her.

  “What’s this? It’s so beautiful!”

She exclaimed as she beheld it.

“Wear it always. If anything happens, I’ll know where you are,” Tang Hao said.

  “Oh! Thank you!”

  S
he bit her lips, feeling rather moved by the gesture. She clenched the bead in her hand tightly.

When she reached the door, she stopped, abruptly turned around, hugged Tang Hao, and did not move for a very long time.

“Thank you! Thank you so much…”

  She sobbed as she spoke.

“They all betrayed me. Only you… only you helped me!”

She sobbed even harder as she spoke until she burst into tears.

Chapter 635 - Beautiful Foreign Student

The delicate body in his arms trembled slightly.

The crying continued for a moment before it turned into a low sob. Tears stained the front of Tang Hao’s clothes.

Tang Hao was silent for a moment before he sighed softly.

It was indeed tragic to be betrayed by one’s own people.

After hesitating for a moment, he reached out his hand and patted her shoulder gently. “Don’t worry. You’re safe now!” He said softly.

“By the way, you don’t blame me, right?” Tang Hao asked after pausing for a moment.

She shook her head and sobbed, “I don’t blame you!”

“Oh! That’s good!” Tang Hao breathed a sigh of relief.

She gradually stopped sobbing, but she did not let go. Just like that, the two of them held each other and stood there for a long time.

It was only ten minutes, but it felt like a century.

She finally let go and raised her head. Her beautiful face was full of tears, which made Tang Hao feel pity for her. It was completely different from the valiant look she had when they first met.

She wiped her tears and forced a smile. “I’m fine, really… I’ll be fine in a few days.

  “Thank you!”

She thanked him again. Her golden eyes were fixed on Tang Hao.

Then, she gently hugged him, turned around, opened the door, and walked out.

Tang Hao stood at the door and listened to her footsteps fading below him. He was a little dejected.

He felt a little upset to see her like that.

After a long time, he closed the door. Then, he walked to the balcony and watched her leave.

She seemed to have sensed Tang Hao’s gaze. After walking for a while, she turned around, waved at Tang Hao on the balcony, and gradually disappeared into the night.
