“Then I have everything I need.”

Honoria reached to trail a finger over his chest and felt him shiver. She grinned. “What shall I do with all that body and heart?”

  “Whatever you wish.”

“Do you know how many times I have imagined you naked after the first time I saw your chest?”

“I reckon, with your inventive mind, a lot.”

She smiled sweetly at him. “Granted, you were dancing around a campfire.”

A low rumble started in his chest before he burst out in laughter. “Shall I dance for you now?”

She felt her eyes widen. “Around a campfire?”

His mouth turned up in a soft smile. “I don’t dance around campfires, monisha, but I will dance around you.” He skimmed his lips over her collarbone. “You are so beautiful.”

An exquisite longing twisted through her, swiveling and throbbing, all the way to her womb. “And you are so overwhelmingly male,” she murmured, allowing him to tease her body.

He choked on a laugh and slowly trailed his lips down the supple column of her neck, then set his mouth over her breast, suckling gently. His tongue stroked and teased, dividing its attention between her nipples, before spreading a row of kisses down to her belly.

“Wait,” Honoria said, a thought suddenly entering her mind. She twisted her body to lean over their bed of hay and reached out to fumble with her skirts.

“What’s wrong?” Lash asked, trailing kisses along her shoulder.

  “I received a note.”

“And you want to read it now?” He sounded so put out Honoria laughed.

She sent him a smoldering look before turning back to unfold the paper. “Aye, I should have read it before I got distracted.”

“Who is it from?” he asked, trailing his nose tenderly over her cheek as he pressed into her back.

“Is that a hint of jealousy I detect in your voice?” Honoria teased.

“Rom do not like their women receiving secret notes,” he growled, nipping at her shoulder with his teeth.

“Well then it’s good you are only half Rom.”

  “Woman,” he growled.

Honoria chuckled. “It’s not a secret note, it’s from Isla.” Her eyes flicked over the content, and her lips parted in a gasp. “Merciful Heavens!”

“Is everything all right?” Lash asked.

“I don’t know,” Honoria murmured, her eyes connecting with his. “Isla has run off with Neill Ross.”
