I Stole Your Girlfriend
Page 3
A couple minutes after, a guy walked in, sat right in front of Peyton and leaned in for a long kiss with the girl. Peyton could not stop herself from staring daggers into the guy's head. Why does he look familiar? She wondered to herself as she looked on disgustedly while he sucked on the girl's face.
Only when he straightened up and said to the girl, "hey babe, sorry I'm late. Got stuck in traffic." did she realise who he was. She has heard that same line a million times before; from that same voice!10
Chapter 6
Peyton could not believe her eyes. Yet, at the same time she could. This is something she would expect from Adam. She just did not expect to actually see it. Right in front her eyes! With a girl she seems to be unintentionally infatuated with!
She turned to Kimberly wondering why she said or did nothing as yet. She got her answer. Kimberly was fast asleep.
She could not explain it to herself but she was feeling hurt. Why? I know he flirts around and makes out with random girls... I don't even like him! So why is this bothering me?1
As she looked on at the two before her she realised that this was more than just some girl he's flirting with or having a random fuck date with. She knows about those as well. She's not dumb. An eighteen year old boy with a girlfriend who wouldn't even kiss him must fuck around behind her back. Hell, even if he was getting sex from her he would still fuck around. He's a guy! And that's what most guys are like; as far as Peyton is concerned. Anyhow, it seems like they're actually in a relationship!
Maybe I'm wrong... maybe he's not Adam...
No sooner she thought that, the guy leaned in again and kissed the girl on her neck causing her to giggle and push him away, "not now Adam... when we get home okay?"6
Holy fuck! It is him!
Without putting any thought on the matter, Peyton pulled out her phone and dialed Adam's number. Sure enough, the guy in front of her pulled out his phone. Ha! I caught you, you dumb ass!
Not quite sure what she was going to say yet, Peyton nevertheless took in a breath and opened her mouth prepared to say something when Adam answered. To her shock and dismay he did not answer. As a matter of fact, he rejected her call and pushed his phone back in his pocket.
It all became unbearable at that point. She shook Kimberly awake, "Kimmy, Kimmy! I wanna go home. Now!" She whispered best she could so as not to draw attention to them.2
"Hey, look, you were right." Kimberly said pointing to Adam.
"Yeah yeah yeah. Let's go! Please!"
"Okay okay! Fine!" Kimberly said as she got up and was then dragged out of the cinema by Peyton before she got a chance to look at Adam properly.
When they were back in the car and on their way Kimberly spoke, "what was that all about?"
"Nothing."
"Awww... come on boo. Talk to me."
Peyton said nothing.
"Is it 'cause you saw that the girl really does have a boyfriend?"
Peyton shrugged not caring that Kimberly could not see since she was focused on the road.
"Well I think it is. Don't worry, there'll be plenty of other girls."
"Kimberly! Just drop it! Please!"
Kimberly frowned. Something is definitely bothering Peyton and with the attitude she's having right now, it will be a very long time before she opens up about it. All Kimberly can do is be supportive and not push her.
The remainder of the ride was silent. Not even music was played.
Peyton was fine with that because she needs time to process everything and understand why she is being such a freak about this whole thing. Maybe it's the fact that he's actually cheating on me... he has a whole other girlfriend... I wonder how long they've been together? I wonder if she knows the kind of person he really is? I wonder if she will like me? Okay... this needs to stop! She's just another girl! How many pretty girls have you seen and liked? She's just another one of them! But there's just something about her... Shut up!!!
"Hey boo, we're here..." Kimberly's voice came in handy to tear her away from her thoughts which were going way off course.
Peyton looked up to see her house. She did not even fully realise that they had left the cinema's parking lot. She turned to Kimberly who looked at her with a concerned expression.
"Don't worry Kimmy, I'm fine. Well, I will be. Just... give me some time okay?"1
Kimberly nodded and pulled her in for a tight hug. When she let her go she said, "thanks for trusting me with all that information today. You know it stays right here." Kimberly put her hand on her chest and then continued, "and don't worry, you know I won't push you. But just remember that I am here whenever you're ready to talk about it okay boo?"
Peyton smiled and nodded after a couple tears ran down her cheeks. "I know. Thanks Kimmy. For everything."
Kimberly wiped her tears away and placed a kiss on her cheek. A normal action for them but this time it left them both with huge blushes. They started laughing at the same time and then said their final goodbyes while Peyton left the car.
Feeling on top of the world again, Peyton bounced into the house only to be deflated the moment she closed the door. "Where the fuck have you been young lady?!"6
Peyton took a deep breath and turned to face her mother, "I was out with Kimmy."
"And what the fuck were the two of you doing?"7
"Nothing! We had lunch and watched a movie. When they come up with a charge for that crime let me know." Peyton knew better than to walk off, that would make things much worse than she's making them right now. So she stood her ground and stared back at her mother, matching the intensity of her mother's glare.
Her mother's hand collided with her face for the umpteenth time this month; thank goodness her mother does not work out and is not very strong - she could barely open a soft drink bottle. I guess she's one of those 'helpless, delicate ladies who must have a man do everything for her'. Peyton snickered to herself. "Then why are you blushing like a fucking jackass?!"
"I'm not blushing. My cheek is red 'cause you hit me. Duh!"
"If I only find out you are carrying about any lesbian activity you will be sorry you were ever born!"
"I already am sorry. You should have aborted me when you had the chance." Peyton said looking away from her mother now and focusing on the steps that she longed to climb so that she could lock herself in her room and wait until tomorrow when she could immerse herself in learning something new at school. Imagine that, Peyton couldn't wait to be in school!
With a quick shove, her mother walked past her saying, "get out of my sight you good for nothing, waste of a human life!"23
Peyton quickly walked away, ascending the stairs two at a time. When she was at the top her mother yelled out, "and next time that lovely boy comes to take you on a date you better be here and not with that idiot friend of yours!"
"She's not an idiot! She the best person in the world!" Peyton's words were useless because her mother was already gone but she said them anyhow because she could never let anyone insult Kimberly without correcting them. Whether or not they heard or cared. It mattered to her.
Feeling lower than a whiteline on a road now, Peyton dragged herself to her room and shut her door making certain she locked it. She lacked the energy or desire to do anything so she shuffled over to her bed and crawled in. Against her will, her mother's words repeated and echoed in her head until she cried herself to sleep.
Chapter 7
It was finally Monday morning and Peyton made no delay in getting dressed and running out the house. When she got to Kimberly's house she was half an hour early so rather than bother her friend and her family, she just sat on the porch and waited. The silence was nice, she appreciated it more than you know.
"Peyton sweetheart, what are you doing sitting there?"
Peyton turned, "morning Mrs. D! I'm just waiting on Kimmy."
"How long have you been here? Why didn't you come inside?"
Peyton checked her watch, "twenty minutes. Didn't want to interrupt you guys' morning routin
e. Plus, I needed some time to think..."
Mrs. Dexter smiled at Peyton who was now standing, "okay sweetheart. You ate?"
Peyton gave her signature head shake, "not hungry..."
"Peyton, you don't eat enough. You're too thin. How about a..."
"Don't waste your breath mom. She eats lunch everyday now. Let's not push her." Kimberly said as she hugged her mother and stood next to Peyton.1
Mrs. Dexter forced a smile and nodded, "I guess that will do for now. You girls have a good day at school!" She waved.
They returned her wave and said goodbye before leaving for their walk to school.
"What's bothering you boo?"
"Nothing more than the usual..."
Kimberly stopped and looked her friend square in the face, "what happened yesterday?"
Peyton knew exactly what Kimberly was referring to but she decided to play ignorant and avoid that topic for as long as possible so she spoke of something else. "Mom got all over my ass about where I was and what you and I were doing. Oh, and apparently Adam came over to take me out..."
They continued walking as Kimberly sighed realising Peyton was avoiding the topic of why she flew out of the cinema like that when she saw that girl's boyfriend join her. So she decided to find out what she could about what Peyton is willing to talk about. "How bad was it?"
This time it was Peyton who stopped walking and faced her friend. With tears threatening she said in a small voice, "the usual..."
Kimberly felt her anger rise up, "she hit you again didn't she?!"3
Peyton gave no audible or visible response. She just looked away and that was all Kimberly needed to know that her mother had hit her. Again!2
"Peyton, boo, I'm so sorry. I hate that bitch!" She pulled her into a hug, rubbing her back soothingly.
When Peyton reciprocated the hug she mumbled, "better her than dad..."
"Nobody is supposed to hit you! Not even your weak-ass mother!"
After a minute or two of composing themselves, they continued their walk to school silently with their arms linked.
The day went on as a typical school day goes and Peyton was glad for it. A somewhat break and distraction from her current troubles. Somehow though, regardless of all the distractions and mental work, Peyton just could not tear that one part of her mind off of the girl from the cinema.
Lunch time came around and Peyton could feel her inner self groan because it meant having to deal with Adam. When she got to the cafeteria, Kimberly and Timothy were already there at their table waving her across.
"I got lunch for you already boo." Kimberly smiled at her when she arrived.
"Thanks Kimmy." She offered her friend a sweet, appreciative smile. "Hey Tim. How was the weekend?"
Timothy beamed a lovely smile, "Sunday was boring but Saturday was great!"
Peyton definitely did not miss the blush that washed over Kimberly's face when he said this and she knew exactly what he meant. "Was Saturday as great for you as it was for Tim?" She couldn't help but tease Kimberly.10
Kimberly picked up a fry from her tray and threw it at Peyton's face. Peyton, being who she is, caught the fry between her teeth and ate it. "Thanks Kimmy! That's all I needed to know what a little miscreant you are." She proceeded to laugh heartily.4
"Must you spoil everything?!" Kimberly whined, "that was meant to hit you in the face not for you to eat it!" She ended with a huff, crossing her arms.
Peyton, joined by Timothy now, laughed louder, "you little exaggerator!"
Peyton's laugh came to an abrupt halt when an arm was wrapped around her neck and a wet, sloppy kiss placed on her cheek. She snapped her head to the side and glared at Adam who now occupied the seat next to her.
"Hey babe. Why so serious?" Adam joked as he greedily shoved food in his mouth.
Eww! You disgusting animal! Peyton could not stop herself from thinking. "I am neither a dead baseball player nor a pig!"5
"Babe babe babe! Hey! What's got your panties in a bunch?"1
"Don't fucking call me babe!"
Kimberly and Timothy looked on, confused as hell as to what was going on before their eyes. Adam has always called Peyton babe. As a matter of fact, that's all he calls her. So this outburst of hers did nothing short of confuse them both. Timothy turned to Kimberly and she just looked at him and shrugged before they turned their attention back to the fight that was ensuing in front of them.
"What the fuck?" Adam put down his food now. This was getting serious. He and Peyton have had numerous quarrels in the past but nothing like this. He had no clue what was causing this behaviour from his girlfriend. He did nothing wrong. Nothing he doesn't usually do. So what the fuck is her problem?!
Peyton just sat there glaring at him and all she could see in her head was him sucking that girl's face. Why is this even bothering me? I've seen him do that a million times! Why now?
Adam put his hand on her shoulder and opened his mouth to talk but he didn't get the chance because she slapped his hand away and stood up. Careful not to raise her voice to bring attention to herself, Peyton spoke, "don't fucking touch me you two timing bitch!"
Kimberly felt herself gasp, I thought it didn't bother you boo? Why are you being like this? What the hell is bothering you?
Kimberly didn't have to wonder too long because she soon going to get her answer.
Adam stood now too but he didn't care if he drew attention. As a matter of fact, he very much enjoyed any attention he got. Good or bad. So, with a loud voice he snapped, "since when does that bother you, you fucking lesbian cunt!"15
They now had the entire cafeteria as an audience. Peyton could feel her heart beating in her throat now, she was sweating all over and nervous like she didn't know was even possible. She did her best to mask everything. "Don't you dare make this about me! How long have you been with her?"
For a split second Adam's face showed shock, "what the fuck are you talking about?!"
By this time Timothy was behind Adam with a hand on his shoulder telling him to, "calm the fuck down man!"
Adam only pushed him away.
Kimberly was by her friend too, trying to get her to stop this tirade she was on but just like Adam she pushed her away saying, "I have to do this Kimmy."
Turning her attention back to Adam she shouted now, "I saw you, you fucker! In the cinema yesterday! 'Not now Adam... when we get home okay?'" She tried to mimic the girl's voice. "Sounds familiar to you?"
Adam's face flushed.
"How long Adam?!"
"Why do you even care?! You never give a shit when I flirt right in your face!"
"Flirting is totally different to cheating!" Peyton knew she didn't make much sense with that statement but she had to justify her anger somehow.
"Yeah well at least unlike you she actually likes dick! I see the way you look at girls! Hell, you check them out as much as me only difference is I do something about it." He pointed at Kimberly and continued, "I see the way you look at her, like you could suck her pussy right on this table for lunch everyday!"31
Peyton was more than grateful at this moment for all the abuse and torture she'd suffered at the hands of her family because she was able to stand strong before Adam. She looked him in the eyes and asked, "then why are you still with me after two years?"
"Your parents are loaded! Trust me, it has nothing to do with you. You're just an ugly dyke!"
Just as she had thought. He was in it for what he could gain for himself.
"How long?" She asked once more. For some reason she needs to know how long he has been with the girl. She won't rest until she finds out.
"How long what?"
"How long have you been fucking her?!"
"One glorious year!" Adam said with a sick smile on his face.9
Chapter 8
In her newly found numb state, Peyton turned and walked out the cafeteria one hundred percent aware of all the eyes that followed her. She walked out the building and headed directly for the bleachers by the t
rack where she sat at the highest point she could. She just stared out at the track, the sky or whatever was there before her eyes.
A year? A whole fucking year? How could you be with Adam for a whole year? Well I mean, I've been with him for two but that's different. Don't you know the asshole that he is?
Peyton's thoughts were interrupted when she heard her name being yelled. She turned to Kimberly who sat next to her, "Kimmy! I'm right here! Geez!"1
"Really? Seems like you were way out there." She gestured toward the track. "I've been trying to get your attention for the last minute!"
Peyton sighed and apologised.
"It's okay boo. I know you must be really torn up over what happened."
Peyton shrugged. Right now she felt nothing. Nothing at all.
"I mean, he just outed you to the whole school! What's going to happen when your parents find out? Oh Peyton, I'm so sorry!"2
Peyton let her friend hug her but she just sat there, unmoving. Only then did she realise that she had not even considered the fallout of what just happened. She was only concerned with the girl.
"What the fuck is happening to me?" She whispered.
Kimberly sat up and spoke, "why didn't you tell me that was Adam yesterday? We should have confronted him then."
"Do you think she knows?"
Kimberly shook her head, "I highly doubt it. She obviously goes to another school. Hell, I'm sure she doesn't even live in this town... I've never seen her before."
"I... I... I don't really know what I was thinking. Then or just now... I should have just left it alone but... I just... I... why her? Why'd he have to be with her?!" Peyton felt something now. Frustration.
"Oh my god! So that's what this is about? You're in love with her aren't you?"
"I can't be in love with someone I saw once! Geez Kimmy!"
"You've had a crush on me from the first day I spoke to you." Kimberly countered wittingly.
