Aaron and Cary waved Gregory off.

When his car disappeared on the horizon, Aaron turned to his mate and placed a kiss on his forehead.

“Can you believe it’s finally all over?” He absently trailed his fingers up and down his mate’s back.

Cary shook his head. “Don’t know what I’m going to do with myself now that I have nothing to worry about.”

Aaron waggled his eyebrows comically. “I might have a few suggestions.”

Cary laughed and they started to walk to the bunkhouse. “You have a one-track mind.”

Aaron stopped short and stared at his mate in mock indignation. “Me? Which one of us younger? I’d say it was you who corrupted me.”

  “And you’re complaining?” Cary asked.

“Hell, no. In fact, I think you should take me to bed right now and corrupt me some more.”

Cary chuckled and got them walking again. “You do realize there’s no rush now, right? We have the rest of our lives together.”

Aaron sighed happily. “You say the most romantic things.”

  “Hey, Aaron?”

Aaron groaned when he saw his Dad walking across the yard towards them. “Talk about timing.”

Cary laughed “Shut up, he’ll hear.”

Stefan stopped in front of them, and his face broke out into a wide, genuine smile. “Well, what did he say?”

“We’re off the hook,” Aaron replied.

“Well, thank God for that,” Stefan said. “Although I never doubted for a minute it would go any other way.”

  Aaron snorted. “Yeah, right.”

“I’m telling you. I knew. There was no way they could take both my sons from me.”

When Aaron looked at his mate, Cary was smiling shyly.

“Thank you, Mr. Drake,” he said quietly.

Stefan scowled. “How many times have I told you to call me Stefan, or dad?”

  “Sorry, dad.”

“Well I gotta get back to work, but we’re expecting you both for dinner tonight.” He turned to leave. “Don’t forget.”

“We won’t,” Aaron called after him.

Aaron pulled Cary towards the bunkhouse but when he looked at his mate, a single tear was sliding down his cheek, and it stopped him in his tracks.

  “What’s wrong?”

Cary shrugged. “I never thought I could be this happy.”

Aaron brushed the tear away with his thumb, then leaned in and pressed a soft kiss against Cary’s lips.

“If you think this is happy, just wait and see how happy I’ll have made you twenty years from now.”

Cary sighed contentedly and slipped his arms around Aaron’s neck, pulling him down for another kiss.

  “I can’t wait.”
