The Awakening

One by one, Nephal brought the survivors to this paradise. Once he was finally done, there were only two living people left in the present, Nephal and Heragald. For Heragald, her time was now. She hid in one of the corners of the world, promising not to leave until it was done. Then, Nephal made his move.
He teleported above the assembly of the dead. He looked across the vast desert of sand. The demon and his army were here, he knew it. Nephal started throwing fireballs at the ground where the army of the dead should be. These fireballs didn’t need to kill any of them, they just needed to get their attention. Then, once Nephal was confident that he had captured the attention of both the demon and his army, he teleported himself in both body and spirit to the past. Specifically, he teleported to the exact same moment in time as when he had first arrived in the desert of sand just moments ago.
The very instant that Nephal had cast his spell, his past was changed and he vanished from existence. Now, for those few seconds in time where the Book of Life had already recorded Nephal bombarding the crowds of the dead with fireballs, he no longer even existed. Everyone who noticed the fireballs, everyone whose actions were affected by them in the slightest were instantly erased from existence. This calculated/surgical use of time travel targeted only a select few and left everyone else completely safe from its devastating effects.
Hiding in another corner of the world, Heragald’s actions were not affected at all by Nephal when he traveled backward in time, just as the survivors who were now living in the future also remained unaffected. No one but Nephal, the demon, and his supporters were erased from history.
Heragald remained where she was for some time. Then, when she was finally confident that Nephal had finished with his task, she teleported to the desert. The illusion that the demon had created was now gone. Heragald could now see all of the massive volcanos that the demon had created.
She went to work immediately, sealing up the volcanos, preventing them from spewing more toxic gas and ash into the atmosphere. Once she was finally done with this task, she then had but one final task remaining. She would track down and destroy every record of magic that exists on Earth. This final task would encompass the rest of her lonely, solitary life.
The worlds of my creation then went quiet again. The demon was wounded by his defeat, for a piece of his soul had been lost. Millions of years passed. Dangerous aggressive forms of life started growing on the Earth. These creatures would later be referred to as dinosaurs. I knew better than to have Nephal bring his human survivors here to this point in time, for these dinosaurs would have caused their complete and total extinction.
I waited for the impact that was coming. An oversight that I had made long ago that would allow a giant rock to slam into my Earth. This rock caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. Millions of years then passed. Then, the time at last came when Nephal’s survivors would arrive in the present.
I watched the events unfold that I had already foreseen from so long ago. I watched as my earlier self took a physical form. I watched my son Garry grow to become a man. I watched as Garry’s mind was linked to Nephal’s mind by my earlier self. I then watched as my son killed the demon. He had used the same tactic as Nephal had used. Even with his broken body, my son was still able to grab the demon's attention and erase him from history, just as Nephal had done.
Then, after my son had sacrificed himself while defeating the demon, I looked at Detective Grant and his family. In the past, I hadn’t the strength left to save them. But now, in the present, things were different. I started sending dreams to a man named Scott Chandlee, a man who I knew would rescue Detective Grant and his family.
Time continued to pass on by. The demon had now been defeated twice. Each time that the demon had been defeated, a piece of his soul was destroyed. In addition to this, the demon couldn’t understand how he had been defeated. He had witnessed his almost total victory only to then fail, suddenly and without cause. The pain that was inflicted on him from his two defeats was great. For this reason, he would never make a third attempt at destroying my world. Instead, he remained where he was, watching the world that he would never possess until the end of my creation at last came. A time when my sun turned red and grew in size, consuming three of its orbiting planets, one of which was the planet named Earth.
It was at this time that the Gods of the Counsel appeared to me. They congratulated me on the job that I had done in protecting my world from the demon. They went on to explain to me that they had allowed the demon to remain this entire time as a test. They wanted to see if I was clever enough to be able to still defend my world in spite of the condition that the demon had left me in. I had done remarkably well and had passed their test.
Now that my test was over, I would be restored again, not only to my former power and glory, I would also be exalted further to become a master of my own universe. As for the demon, he was to be stripped of his power and delivered to the goddess Athena. As the demon was brought before her, a cruel smile broached her lips. She would never tire of his screams, throughout all of eternity.
The council then started exalting Gods and Goddesses to serve under my command in the universe that I would soon rule over. Many of these Gods I didn’t recognize, but there were some among my ranks that shocked me to the core and filled me with great joy. The name of these Gods and Goddesses were my three former Demi-Gods: Hebernal, Tecethnes, and Seberath. Heragald was also listed as a Goddess amongst my ranks. It was the final two names, though, that would shock me the greatest. I had never expected to see either of them again after what had happened to them. As I would learn though, The Gods of the Counsel are truly capable of some remarkable things. The name of these final two Gods were Nephal and my son Garry Henderson.
Now that my Gods and Goddesses had all been exalted and assembled, there was but one final task remaining. I needed to create a bang, a BIG BANG.
