“Lila Knight.”
“Montgomery-Knight.”
Killean frowned and gazed down at her “What?”
“I’m not dropping my name, Killean. I want it hyphenated.”
“You don’t want my name?”
“No, I didn’t say that. Stop taking words from my mouth. And I also want our baby’s name to be hyphenated too. Montgomery-Knight. It does have a nice touch, doesn’t it?”
Killean groaned. “Whatever you want.”
“You say it like I’m sentencing you to death. You don’t agree that our baby should have my name too? Isn’t he or she a part of me?”
Killean sighed. “Point well made, love. You have your wish.”
She smiled. “I’m about to grant you another wish. Don’t get so excited. First, would you prefer a spring wedding or a winter wedding? I’ve always loved the snow, and quite frankly spring weddings are too cliché.”
He kissed her softly. “I don’t care; as long as you marry me, I don’t give a damn if we’re jumping out of a plane.”
“Winter it is then, and me in a white dress.”
“A backless dress.”
She giggled. “I’ll be nine months pregnant by then. Oh shit. The baby could come.”
“Don’t worry, love. We’ll figure it out. And we have an appointment tomorrow at five, so be prepared.”
“All right.”
She sighed as another thing came across her mind. She didn’t know how to bring it up.
“What’s wrong now?”
His fingers moved lazily along her spine, bringing her skin to life with sensation.
“Um, Killean, about the, um, the pre-nup.” Christ, how did she say this without sounding like she was thinking of his money?
The stroking fingers froze.
“The what?”
“The pre-nup. I know that your family will mention it and—”
“Lila, you’re making me very upset at such a beautiful moment. My money is not my family’s. I trust you, and that’s good enough for me. Where money is concerned, you can’t eat it, so we have to spend it. And I think we both know you aren’t one bit after my wealth.” He splayed his fingers over her bare stomach. “And for our baby—babies, I want them to want for nothing. And you to want for nothing.”
“I’m marrying you, not your money, Killean.”
“I know. Anyway, I can’t wait to share the world with you and our baby.”
She nodded. “Okay. I love you, Killean.”
He kissed her mouth and whispered, “I love you too, baby. With all my heart.”
There, that was it. She dragged his head down to meet her lips.
