“Good.” Copper captured a stray curl and rubbed it between his thumb and forefinger. “You can start by planning the wedding. Doc says I’ll be fully functional in three to four months. “So let’s plan it for the end of July. Yeah?”

Her mouth flapped open and closed, making him laugh.

  “What? You thought I forgot?”

“Um, well, yeah. Well, not forgot, but I thought you were rambling from blood loss or something.” Her face had paled a little.

Copper snorted. “Nope. And you agreed. You gonna tell me you lied to me?”

Shell shook her head. More curls fell from the loose pile. “No. I just…are you sure?”

“Michelle Ward, I can’t get down on one knee for the next few months, but I can still tell you how I feel. I’ve wasted so much time. Should have tied you to me years ago. I don’t want to spend another day without you by my side. I love you. I want to marry you and adopt that adorable girl back there.”

Shell was openly crying now. “You want to adopt Beth?”

“Yeah, baby. I want to adopt Beth.”

“And you want to marry me?”

“I want to marry you so fucking bad. So, what do you say? Will you make an honest man outta me?”

Shell threw her arms around him and squeezed. When he winced, she said, “Sorry! Sorry! I forgot you were hurt. Oh, my God, how did I forget?”

He mock scowled at her. He’d take pain any day if it meant having her in his arms. “You gonna put me out of my misery?”

“Oh! Yes,” she said. “Yes, Copper, I’ll marry you. It’s all I’ve wanted for more than ten years. Of course, I’ll marry you.”

He gripped her by the back of the head and crushed their mouths together, split lip be damned. There was no way he wasn’t tasting that mouth.

She’d agreed to be his wife.

His kingdom was complete now that he had his queen.

  EPILOGUE

  SIX MONTHS LATER

“Say it again,” Copper said as he drew his hips back.

“Copper, come on, you’re killing me. Just let me come.”

Killing her? She had no freaking idea. The slow, sucking grasp of her pussy as he pulled out nearly did him in. “Say it.”

She rolled her eyes but gave him a soft smile. “I’m yours.”

“My what?” He jerked back farther leaving only the very tip of his dick inside her.

Shell groaned. She looked fucking delectable. Lacy white bra that did nothing to hide the hardened state of her nipples. White garters attached to thigh high white stockings. There’d been a thread she called a thong to match, but he’d done away with that long ago. Her face, with just enough makeup to set the day apart from a regular day, was flush with passion. The hair she’d forbade him to muss before the ceremony was a scattered mess of sweaty curls.

  “Your wife.”

“Damn straight.” He peered down at his cock, glistening with the proof of her arousal. Didn’t seem to matter when or how often he wanted her, Shell was always wet and ready for him. “For how long?”

The smile he loved widened. “Forever.”

  Best. Thing. Ever.

“Forever,” he breathed. Then he snapped his hips forward burying as deep as possible in his wife’s pussy.

Shell cried out and arched her back. Her perfectly manicured nails dug into his sides as she held on. He paused, absorbing the sensation of his wife holding him deep inside her body. In the months since Rusty’s demise, they’d grown closer than he thought was possible for two people to be. Copper couldn’t imagine a day, hell, an hour without her in his life.

His recovery had gone as well as could be expected, though the limitations of his body nearly drove him fucking nuts. But as of a week ago, he was free and clear of any braces, crutches, and medical restrictions.

As of an hour ago, they were officially married. The moment they entered the clubhouse for the reception, he’d yanked her into his office, divested her of that sexy as fuck white dress and feasted on her.

“I’m gonna come, Copper,” she said on a moan, and he pounded into her harder.

“Give it to me, gorgeous.” He sucked a nipple into her mouth, lace and all and Shell shattered, coming on his cock. “Fuck!” He didn’t stand a chance once she started clenching all over him like that. The orgasm slammed into him like a charging bull.

“Wow,” Shell said with a giggle. “Not bad for a married couple.”

Copper grunted. It would take another minute for his brain to kick back in.

Trapped between his heavy body and the wall, Shell wiggled. “Think anyone heard us?”

The reception was at the clubhouse and should be in full swing without them. “Pretty sure you woke your pops in his grave. Expecting his ghost to show up with a shotgun anytime now.”

She giggled again as he let her body slide to the floor. “Nah, you made an honest woman outta me.”

“Smartest thing I ever did.” Kissing her mouth, he righted his clothes. Not a hard task since all he did was loosen his pants to free his dick.

Shell, on the other hand, had the more arduous task of slipping back into her wedding dress. He propped his ass on the end of his desk and watched the show. She’d worn a short and sassy white dress that hugged her every curve. When he’d first seen it, he’d been surprised by how conservative the dress was. Not even a hint of cleavage. Then she’d turned, and he came face to face with her bare back. The dress dipped nearly to her ass. All he could think about was running his tongue along her spine.

It was the first thing he did after locking the office door.

  Fucking sexy as hell.

“You see my panties?” Shell asked, scanning the floor.

With a smirk, Copper bent and retrieved the tattered fabric from the ground. “Not sure they’re gonna be much good to you anymore.”

Shell’s eyes widened. “How did I not realize you did that?”

He stalked forward, shoving the panties in his pants pocket. “Guess I had you a little distracted.”

A sly grin curled her now lipstick-free mouth. “Guess so.”

“Ready to head out to our party?” he asked his wife. Damn, that sounded sweet.

Shell nodded, and he tucked her hand in his, exactly where it belonged. The last few months had been the most amazing of his life. And now he had the rest of his days to enjoy the woman who made up his whole world.

“Let’s do it,” she said, rising up on her toes for a kiss.

  Fuck yeah.

THE MOMENT COPPER opened the door, a few hundred bikers broke out into raucous cheers and hollers.

“Yeah, Copper, that’s how you get it done.”

“You bent her over that desk, Prez?”

“Hope you gave her an inch for every year you made her wait for you.” That was Izzy’s voice.

  Shell’s face burned.

It’d been nice knowing Izzy. Too bad Shell would never be able to face her again.

She peeked up at her husband who had the smuggest damn look on his face. He glanced down at her with a wink. All she could do was roll her eyes and laugh.

The most fantastic day of her life was topped off by the most wonderful party she could have asked for. Family, friends, good food, plenty of booze, Shell had never had a better time. Even her mother showed up. She didn’t smile much, but she was there.

She was also clueless as to what happened in her house while she was out of town a few months ago.

And it would stay that way forever.

Exhausted from dancing with every man associated with the club, Shell walked over toward the bar. Thunder, who’d volunteered to manage the bar, had a bottle of water ready for her. “Looking parched, Mrs. President,” he said with a wink.

“Oh, Thunder, you’re perfect.” She snatched the water and guzzled half the bottle. When her tongue wasn’t so dry, she turned and watched her guests. A minute later, her husband spotted her and stalked her way.

Shell shivered. That gaze was so damn
potent it was practically a caress.

“Hey, baby,” he whispered against her mouth.

“Hi, handsome. Relax with me a moment. See how much fun our family is having.” She pulled him in next to her so his back was to the bar as well.

Immediately, his arm slipped around her shoulders, tucking her close. The man didn’t believe in personal space.

Not that she was complaining. Being touched by him was hands down her favorite pastime.

“Does look like a pretty successful party, huh?”

“Yep.” She smiled. Music blared through the clubhouse. Everyone was drinking, dancing and having a fabulous time.

“Got a surprise for you,” her husband said, pulling a folded paper from his pocket. He unfolded it and handed it over, an almost misty look on his face.

That couldn’t be right. Copper didn’t do misty.

  “What is this?”

He laughed. “Read it, Miss Impatient.”

As Shell scanned the document, tears came to her eyes. “Oh, my God,” she whispered. “It’s official.”

He kissed the top of her head. “Yeah, as of yesterday I’m officially Beth’s father.”

Shell swallowed the golf ball lodged in her throat. “Thank you for this,” she said. “Thank you for loving Beth and me. And thank you for wanting to adopt her. I’m not sure I can express to you what this means to me, Aiden,” she said, staring up at the man she loved so much it seemed like it couldn’t be real.

But it was. And he loved her just the same. She felt it every second of every day.

“Shit, baby, I’m the one who should be thanking you. You and that princess are the best things in my life.”

Was it possible for a heart to actually burst with love?

She glanced back at the happy partiers. “Quite the kingdom you have here.”

“Your kingdom too, now.” He gave a gentle tug on her hair so she looked back up at him. “You’re my queen, Shell. This family, this kingdom is as much yours as it is mine. You ready to rule it with me?”

She’d never been readier for anything in her life. Taking her place by her husband’s side was her destiny. “Never been more ready for anything, except to marry you.”

“Damn good answer, baby,” he said before he kissed her.

Shell gave herself over to her husband’s passion.

It’d been a long, hard road, finding her way to her man, but she’d come to value the lessons and strength she’d gained along the way. The past was the past, and nothing would change it now. But the future?

Yeah, that was shiny and bright as the sun.
