  "Okay. Let's go."

He took her by the hand and they walked to the slide. "Ladies first."

She climbed up, getting caught up in the excitement as she went. She paused at the top so that she could sit in his lap and then they slid down together. "Well, that was anticlimactic," he remarked as they reached the end.

"Is it me, or does it seem shorter than it used to?"

"It's definitely not you. Oh, well. We gave it our best shot. Hey, I bet I can still beat you on the monkey bars."

"Robert." She said his name deadpan. "I'd do almost anything for you, honey, but I am not going to play chicken with you. Not today, not ever again."

  "Why not?"

"Are you serious right now?" she laughed. "You almost broke my leg last time."

"Hey, I was just trying to break your fall."

"I don't care what you were trying to do. The answer is no! I can't even believe we're talking about this!"

"You're just afraid you can't take me," he grinned.

"I'm afraid you'll send me to the ER!" she countered.

"Fine," he grumbled. "Be that way."

"You want to push me on the swing?"

  "If you insist."

They walked hand in hand to the swings and Robert began to push her. Sadie couldn't believe how long it had been since she'd been on a swing. Probably not since their last date at a playground. It was amazing to her how easy it was to fall back into being a kid with Robert. That had to say something about their relationship, surely. That had been one of the reasons she'd married him—she knew as his wife he'd always make sure she had fun.

With the wind blowing in her face and tendrils of her blonde hair pulling free from her ponytail, she was surprised just how much fun she was having. She pumped her legs, trying to get higher and higher. When she was a kid, she'd thought it she just went on long enough, she could touch the sky. Now, all these years later, she knew better but it didn't mean that she didn't admire the view. The sky was a blanket of blue velvet and the stars overhead twinkled like diamonds. She rarely took the time to stop and enjoy the world, but when she did, it took her breath away.

  "You ready to come down?"

"Give me just a few more pushes."

"All right, but my arm is starting to get tired," he kidded.

"Oh, you just miss my company. Admit it."

  "Always."

She smiled and closed her eyes, pumping her legs up and down. The Earth felt so peaceful and still all around her. And just like when she was a little girl, she imagined that this was as close to flying as she'd ever get.

When Sadie heard a loud clap of thunder overhead, her eyes snapped open just in time to see the bolt of lightning flash across the sky.

"I guess it's time to go after all."

He wasn't kidding. Though they never openly discussed it, Sadie wasn't very fond of thunderstorms. It was just understood. Sadie stuck her legs straight out and drug her feet on the ground to slow the swing. Robert was right behind her and grabbed hold of it so that she could get out.

  "Let's hurry," she urged him.

He took her by the hand and they sprinted for the car. The parking lot was a good bit away and as another bolt of lightning lit up the sky she wondered if they'd make it.

Just then, she felt the first raindrop land on her cheek. It was quickly followed by another, and then another. The sky opened up and rain began to pour down on them from Heaven in torrents.

"Oh, no!" she yelled at the sky.

She could hear Robert laughing beside her. To her surprise, he stopped running and pulled her back along with him.

  "What are you doing?"

"We can't fight it, honey. We're already soaked, so we might as well enjoy it."

  "What are you talking about?"

Robert clamped his lips on hers and gave her a kiss so intense with passion that she almost forgot that it was raining. And when she came up for air and felt the cool water running down her face, she didn't care. His hands found her breasts and he kneaded them through the fabric of her wet shirt. "There's a nice, dry spot over there." He nodded to a cluster of trees. "We could run for cover."

If it hadn't been raining, she seriously would have considered it. "Car," she decided.

"Let's go." With renewed purpose, they raced toward the car. Robert hit the unlock button as soon as they were close enough and they climbed in, dripping wet.

"Looks like I'm going to need to get this steam-vacced."

"I'll do it for you. But for now, you should get out of those wet clothes. I wouldn't want you to get sick."

"Oh, no," she fluttered her lashes at him, "can't have that." She could feel his eyes on her as she lifted her arms and took her sweet time pulling up her soaked tank. She slid it up inch by inch, and his eyes never once left her as she revealed her damp skin. As soon as she tossed the shirt into the back seat, he pulled her into his lap, kissing her neck as he toyed with her nipples through the sheer fabric of her bra.

She felt incredible. So much so that she began to grind on his crotch, feeling him harden beneath her. It gave her a sense of power to be the one that got him hard, the one that made him come. Sadie leaned back just long enough to unzip his jeans and when his cock sprang out, hard and ready, she began to give him an enthusiastic hand-job as she shimmied on his lap. Robert's guttural moans spurred her on.

"Oh, baby." He grabbed a fistful of her hair and pulled her toward him for another long kiss.

When he finally let her go, she gave him a sexy grin before she reached over and let the seat back. They both fell back with a laugh and moments later Sadie was sliding down to take his big cock into her mouth. Robert groaned in anticipation the moment he realized what was happening and it made her all the more eager to pleasure him.

She slid her tongue up and down his long shaft, teasing the sensitive head. She made sure to pay special attention to his balls, too—he really liked that. It was funny. In the beginning of their relationship, she hadn't really cared for blow jobs. She'd done it, of course, because he liked it so much, and she'd found that she could use it as a bargaining tool occasionally. Now, though, after ten years of marriage she found that she enjoyed it as much—Okay, nearly as much—as he did. She loved knowing she was driving him crazy and making him mad with lust for her pussy.

It never took long. Robert had come in her mouth once or twice, but he preferred her pussy. When he was close to his climax, he began to move around her, but she pushed him back.

"Not this time," Sadie whispered. "This time, I'm on top."

Her husband's eyes widened in surprise and she gave him another sly grin as she began to work down her shorts and panties. "Have I died and gone to Heaven?"

"Oh, come on, you know I'm no angel."

"Mmm," he grunted his agreement as he squeezed her ass cheeks. "I'll tell you a little secret, honey. No man really wants an angel."

"It would break your heart," Sadie agreed. "You'd have no reason to spank me then."

"I'd find a reason, believe me. You have an ass that just begs to be spanked."

As much as she was enjoying their teasing, Sadie was ready to get down to business; a point she proved by raising her hips and letting his cock penetrate her pussy. When she lowered herself down, he gasped. She felt it, too. That warm, heady sensation in the pit of her belly that spurred her on. She rode him nice and slow, taking her time and enjoying every groan that passed his lips and knowing that it was all for her.

  "You're killing me, woman."

"Do you want me to go faster?"

"What I want is for you to let me fuck that pussy."

"Next time," she assured him. "You don't have to be in control every single time do you?"

"It's nice, but I have to admit, you're doing a hell of a job."

She smiled at the compliment and began to ride him faster. Robert shut his eyes and furrowed his brow as she rode him. She rode him harder, moving faster still when she felt her own climax coming. Oh, God. Every muscle
in her body tensed as she pushed on, faster and harder until she exploded. Her world melted in a vision of colors, and it was beautiful.

"Don't quit on me yet," Robert growled. "See, this is why I'm the one on top."

All Sadie managed was a feeble laugh before he flipped her over and took her pussy with a force that surprised her. She'd thought she couldn't possibly take anymore, but seeing the hungry look in his eyes, and the passion etched all over his face, her pussy tightened around his cock and when they came, it was as one. Robert promptly collapsed and they lay together, breathing shallowly. Sadie was very nearly asleep when he moved again.

  "We should go home."

"We should," she agreed, yawning and wondering how she could be tired again already. This man was wearing her out! At this rate, she was going to be useless by the time the kids came home!

  "Did you have fun?"

"I had a blast," she laughed.

"Was that your attempt at a dirty joke, Sadie?" he asked, mock-stern.

"It was. Was it that bad?"

"It could use a little work, but you have no idea how proud I am of you for trying."

"Ha ha." She cuddled up next to him, curling her body into his and wishing they could stay interlocked like that forever. "I'll tell you one thing. I don't think I'll ever look at thunderstorms the same way again."

  Chapter Seven

"Welcome to boot camp," Robert said in his deepest, most authoritative voice. He made quite an imposing figure as he loomed over her with his hands sternly placed on his hips. "I am your commanding officer and my word is law. At least for the next forty-eight hours," he added hastily when he saw Sadie's glare.

She tried to maintain her composure and make her expression equally stern, and while perhaps her fear was invisible to the naked eye, inside she was trembling like a leaf. When Robert had first brought up the idea of a boot camp, she hadn't really expected him to go through with it. Sure, she knew they needed to make some changes. She knew that despite the strides they'd made toward getting their relationship back on track, there were still more changes to be made, but surely boot camp was a bit extreme. A night of rough-and-tumble between the sheets would serve them better, in her opinion.

She was just about to make the suggestion when Robert shifted and she caught a glimpse of what was on the end table behind him. Was that… oh no. An electric jolt of fear coursed through her at the thought. That couldn't have been her hairbrush… could it? She supposed it could have been, but only if she'd left it there by mistake. Yes, that must be it.

Except… except she could have sworn that she'd spotted a clear, plastic paddle right next to it. That couldn't be a coincidence, could it? No matter how hard she tried to spin it into one, she just couldn't manage to find a plausible excuse. At last, with a resigned sigh, she stopped trying and asked her husband.

  "What's all this?"

"Boot camp," he answered in a voice that was much too cheery for her liking at the moment.

"So you said," she replied drily. "And what have I do to merit this honor?"

"Don't look like that, Sadie," he scolded. "You know why we have to do this. Our relationship needs a little maintenance. A tune-up, if you will."

"I see, and I suppose your idea of maintenance is to bust out all the worst implements?"

Robert didn't look one bit chagrined, damn him. "Never question your mechanic. Just trust him."

She rolled her eyes and didn't bother to hide it—she was that perturbed. It was bad enough that he wanted to spank her in the first place, but sports metaphors on top of it was more than she could handle.

"Young lady," he said, his voice laced with warning.

"Don't 'young lady' me!" she snapped, refusing to be scolded into compliance. "I haven't done anything! I'm not going to let you spank me for no reason!"

Robert's gentle, playful manner dropped in an instant and he was standing by her side, his brown eyes snapping and his mouth turned down in a firm line. "I can think of a list full of things you've done to earn yourself a good paddling in the last fifteen seconds."

Having him this close and seeing his nostrils flare, Sadie's body warred between fight or flight instincts. What to do, what to do. If she ran, he'd only come after her and then he really would have a reason to spank her. Of course, the same outcome could occur following fight. Damn it, sometimes she hated being the woman of the relationship! She'd love for the shoe to be on the other foot, just once, and see how he liked having his butt reddened for him!

"Well, since you're going to just spank me no matter what I say, I guess you better do it and be done with it already!"

His eyes widened in surprise at her rebellious tone. If she'd been keeping score, she would have put a point on her side, not that she was. Still, she couldn't help smirking just a little.

"You are in a whole world of trouble, little girl," he growled at her, reaching for her wrist and yanking her to him. "You are going to regret talking to me like that."

She dug her heels in, yanking and twisting, and when neither of those things worked, she snapped at him. She moaned and cursed; she even went so far as to step on his foot. The furrow of his brow only deepened as he, without a word, sat down on the couch and pulled her over his lap.

She was still twisting in his grasp and kicking her legs when the first swat fell. It was a panty-stinging scorcher. When a second equally hard smack followed, she lay still. Soon, her demands turned to sweet pleas. When those fell on deaf ears, the tears began to fall. Her husband was relentless. No matter how she pleaded or cried, he delivered the spanking he felt that she deserved. By the time he stopped, her bottom was stinging so much that she was sure she'd feel the marks of his handiwork every time she sat down for the next week, at least.

"There's a good girl," he murmured when he finally allowed her to sit up. "Come here, let me kiss those tears away."

Not willing to argue and risk a repeat performance, she dutifully scooted forward and allowed her wet cheeks to be kissed. He took the job very seriously and soon she had been so well kissed that she couldn't help but smile. In fact, she wasn't really that upset at all—sore, without a doubt, but not upset. In fact, her tummy was doing little flips being this close to the man she loved and she felt blissfully peaceful.

"Now, admit it," he whispered in her ear. "You needed that spanking."

"Yes, Sir," Sadie answered, sighing softly as the words escaped her lips. As much as she hated admitting that he was right, in this case she had no choice. He knew her well.

"I'm starting to think that maintenance spankings really are a good idea." When she didn't answer, he reached over and hooked a finger under her chin, tilting her head back so that she looked him in the eye. "Sadie?"

Why she asked herself for the millionth time, had she encouraged him to read those spanking blogs? He'd even talked to a few men online—fellow HOHs intent on keeping their wives in line—and now he thought he knew everything. Or, was at least assured that if he didn't, he could find it on Google.

  "I don't' know…"

"The way it would work is that we'd chose a day. Say, Saturday, for example. You'd receive a spanking every Saturday. Nothing too severe, just enough of one to help you relieve some tension and remind you who's in charge. And as long as you didn't earn another one, that would be the only spanking you'd get for the week."

"I know what maintenance spankings are." She tried to keep her voice level and respectful. "I was saying that I don't think they're for us."

"Not for you, you mean," Robert countered with an arched brow. "Are you sure you're not just trying to save your poor butt?"

She had a strong urge to roll her eyes, but she looked down at her hands instead.

"You need to think long and hard about what you want here, Sadie. I like having these fun little sessions, too, but at the end of the day, our relationship needs to be the top priority."

  "Yes, Sir."

"Does that mean you're agreeing to weekly maintenance?"

"It means I'll think about it," she responded gently, batting her eyelashes and snuggling up to him, trying to look as cute as possible. When he put his arm around her and held her close, she let out an inaudible sigh of relief. She'd just wanted to have fun—and she had been, until he'd turned things serious. That was what happened when the HOHs talked to each other, she supposed.

"Get over here," he growled at her, his brown eyes turning to liquid fire as he pulled her toward him.

She was planning to make him work for it, but the minute she inhaled the sweet scent of his manly musk, she lifted her mouth to be kissed. He answered her without hesitation, meeting her lips with his own and kissing her so passionately that she thought she might melt into a puddle at his feet.

"You," he said, kissing the nape of her neck, "are such a naughty little vixen."

She felt naughty just then—deliciously, toe-curlingly naughty and she loved every minute of it. So much so, in fact, that she wished it would never end. She knew that tomorrow, the kids would be back from Nana's and she'd morph back into Mommy. It was a wonderful, although often heart-wrenching job. She wouldn't trade in her title for anything, not for any amount of gold or chocolate bars. But in moments like these, she felt delightfully free and for just a moment, she wished she could stay that way—that they could stay this way, just like they were this very moment, forever.

"I am feeling just a tad bit naughty, now that you mention it," she purred, oh-so-boldly putting her hand over the bulge in his jeans.

"I see," he replied, his voice somewhere between a gasp and a growl.

"Now, while I don't particularly care for boot camp, maybe we could take advantage of your mom having the kids."

"Well, what did you have in mind?"

Sadie smirked to herself. Come to think of it, she enjoyed being a woman very, very much. At least in moments like these where she clearly had the upper hand. "Well, just for starters we could—"

Just then, Robert's phone began to vibrate in his pocket. She started to make a joke about it, until he nearly jumped ten feet into the air. "Hey, babe, I've got to take this. I'm just going to step out for a minute."
