  The door flap to the tent opened and the guards stood stiff. Deren watched a tall man enter the room. Deren knew this was the King, he bowed deeply.

  “I’m glad both Bron and Adderand have been returned to me,” he turned to the Captain and said. “Give them back their weapons, they are friends,”

  The King looked at Deren. “Did you complete the mission, boy?”

  “Yes Sire,” Deren walked over to Bron and pulled the Crystal from his boot where he had seen Bron place it. “This is what you require,”

  “You shall all be rewarded beyond your dreams! What would you like boy, name it and it is yours,” the King said as he put the crystal into his vest.

  “Sire, I’d like to sleep. Just sleep,”

  The King laughed. “Very well. I understand. When you’ve awakened come find me,”

  Deren watched him leave, before he turned and walked to the cots where Adderand and Bron lay. Deren picked up his sword and sat down between the two unconscious men putting his sword across his knees and closing his eyes he fell fast asleep.
