Dark Dragon's Wolf

She stroked his hair back. “I was talking to Tyr,” she ventured. “He said he thinks the white wolves were intended to interbreed with the Draken, like the Lion Guard. But then the Draken left this world, and the wolves only interbred with each other, and that’s how come they had all these problems.”
Tristan ran his fingers down the curve of her breast. “So are you saying that Tyr thinks our alleged cubs might not be killer monsters who can destroy people with the power of their minds?”
Mayah bit her lips. When you put it that way… “Um, they might be? But they probably wouldn’t have the mental instability. Mating with humans apparently helps, too. Like Brock Reilly’s father did.”
Tristan grinned. “So we should bring in more people for the wolves to date? Encourage them to mate outside their pack? Emon’s going to love that. More people.”
She giggled. Then, more seriously, she said, “I was thinking maybe it might change your mind about having cubs someday. Or baby dragons.”
That made him smile. “I’ve been thinking about it too. But maybe not just yet.”
She nodded. “Not ready?”
He stroked the curve of her hip. “I’ve been thinking about the other ‘ghosts.’ The ones in other places.”
“And you want to go get them.”
He nodded. “Yeah. And if Johnson and that purple-eyed dragon traitor got out of the wreckage alive, I want to make sure they don’t stay that way.”
Just the thought of Johnson and the dragon roaming Earth hurting more people made Mayah’s dragon growl. She said, “I’m willing to drop another building on them.”
Tristan kissed her. “I’m thinking we could make it our mission to smash Gen-X to smithereens, and free all the shifters they have in captivity. Thorne and Jesse Travis have been working on hacking the servers we stole. Pretty soon, we should have a list of all their facilities. Jesse thinks maybe we should team up with that guy Carmichael.”
Carmichael ran a clandestine special ops group, not controlled—or sanctioned—by the Shifter Council. And he had a lot of resources.
“I think I’d be okay with that,” Mayah said.
“Good. Because Carmichael sent a message with the Silverlake people who came here today. He wants to talk to us about it.”
Mayah felt excitement spread through her. She loved being mated to Tristan, but she’d been feeling kind of restless. As if there was something more she should be doing.
“We can use our superpowers for good,” she said. “Ooh! Now I can make us masks and capes!”
“Don’t forget my Batman body armor. So I look buff.”
She ran her hands over his biceps. “You look totally munchable to me.”
He laughed. “I’m guessing that’s good? As long as your dragon doesn’t take it literally.”
Mayah said, more seriously, “I really love the idea of freeing all the wolves. The Al-Maddeiri—my ancestors—created them, and inadvertently put them in harm’s way. I feel like it’s my responsibility to make them safe again.”
Tristan nodded. “Okay. We’ll talk to this Carmichael person.” He bent his head and gave her another warm, lingering kiss. “Much, much later.”
He kissed her again, opening his mind to her. She let his emotions flow over her, mingling with hers. Love and laughter, darkness and sadness. Anticipation for the adventures that were coming.
She opened her mind to him—all her love, her understanding, her excitement and her fears. Their thoughts flowed together seamlessly as their lips met once more.
And then it was all emotion and sensation. His hands on her, his mouth, touching and kissing, teasing and caressing. She could feel all that, and also what Tristan felt—her hands and lips on his skin, her taste and scent.
The feel of her pleasure and his, blending together.
She gasped as his mouth moved to her core, his tongue light and teasing, drawing her to the brink before plunging deep inside her.
Her first shattering climax, her desperate need for him to be inside her. His unending sense of wonder as he realized again how much she wanted and needed him.
And then she was overwhelmed by the depth of his desire and devotion.
They moved together in perfect rhythm, completely open to each other, no holding back.
Then they rose together in the sky, nothing but night surrounding them, shattering into bright stars before slowly drifting back to earth, holding each other tight.

About the Author
Anastasia Wilde lives in the deep forests of the Pacific Northwest, where sexy shifters may or may not be found hiding among the tall, ancient trees. She writes hot paranormal romances about wild, passionate shifter men and the strong women who are destined to win their hearts. Broken, complicated, devoted, protective—love heals their wounds and smooths their rough edges (but not too much!). When not writing, Anastasia is traveling, nomming on any food involving bacon or melty cheese (ideally both), adding to her magical crystal collection, or relaxing with a glass of wine, watching the sun set behind the mountains.
