The Sword Devil

Void was able to secure some meat but not the corpse of the Winged Viper because Ember, frankly, didn’t like the snake, she rejected it. It made him think that she only liked beasts and not reptiles.

While Ashley was working Void was just watching and sighed, “You're really strong already.” He said.

“Well brother can probably learn the same trick I did.” Xero said.

Void looked confused, “What trick?” he asked.

Xero explained what he learned from Valmor. “That seems complex, and I don’t have any of that medicine to heal my soul.” he said.

“I didn’t use all of mine, even if I did force it a lot when I was learning but brother’s forging already helps temper our souls so it doesn’t take as much, if you want to try…” Xero said.

Void thought a bit and told Ember to summon a simple Feral Demon. Similar to Xero, Void had a small link with the demons. With the connection he strengthened the link to the Feral soul in the demon. He pulled it and soon felt the grinding pain and pushed on until he couldn’t.

Xero told him the first few tries will be exhausting but since he got lots of tempering he should get it in a few tries.

Void huffed and tried three times before Xero fed him the first of seven potions still remaining.

Void felt his soul heal and that soul energy cloud form and guard it. The next time he tried, veins appeared on his head but similar to Xero he was able to stabilize the combination and suddenly the body of the Bear Feral demon roared as it shined and broke into many pieces and flew around Void. A large bear shaped helmet formed, fur covered armor that fit perfectly, large paw shaped gauntlets and soon the legs.

The bear like strength infused his body and he let out a roar as he felt the strength. “Wow.” He said before turning, with some minor control of his aura he knew the aura reinforced muscles and claws but when he turned and swung his clawed hand a blade slash formed on the air and cut through the tree behind him leaving five huge gash that caused the tree to collapse while the mana beam traveled 100 meters away to through two trees and stopped there.

“This is amazing.” he said gulping but the stress on his soul grew and the link was undone and his mana stolen.

“You should train to use it for now, until you learn the trick the linked creature will steal your mana.” Xero said pulling out a mana stone to help his brother recover.

The bear was behind them but returned to the cave at Ember’s command.

“I-I’ll try and grow stronger.” He said and got up just as Ashley came back happy.

“I’m ready master, let's go back so that we can set up to make the Nature Dragon Bone Spirit Sword. Master you should know that these swords are plant and nature based if master installs a few of them with master’s wood control magic they would be more useful than the common wood ones.” She said.

“Let’s go back first and then decide.” Xero said and they recalled all the sword minions and went back to Everlight city were Ashley took all the damaged minions so that she could repair them.

Univa sat within a small magic formation that made the dense mana in the air gather and concentrate, while Tryus was sleeping 40 meters away in a separate formation for the same reason but also that formed a protective barrier that would contain all shockwaves or disruptions that may arise.

Her brother was watching, within her body, the raging mana that was being digested by the dragon was slowly mixing in her body as she sucked in more from the surrounding. This was the biggest benefit of a dungeon, there is a near unlimited amount of mana that could supply the familiar and master during critical stages. This is why dungeons always had so many powerful monsters like she had just seen.

Being hopeless like that had made her even more desire power. She had been lucky the wyrm didn’t have a complete dragon’s aura, it had only a basic aura that infused into it’s scales to make them as strong as a dragon’s which ultimately caused its downfall since Sword Devil’s aura could literally cut apart defensive auras and why the Wyrm didn’t have power rivalling level 50s.

As she sucked more and more mana, suddenly on her head a small dot began to shine and grow forming a tattoo of a dragon’s head. Slowly these tattoo flowed down like a tribal mask.

At that time Tryus opened its eyes which sent a weak shock wave out and it stood and roared.

“It has begun.” her brother muttered, sitting down a bit away was the elder that had saved her and was overlooking the evolution.

“Her Dragon mark is impressive.” He muttered.

The Dragon mark is the tattoo that was growing, unlike demons, this was a symbol of a dragon’s strength that had bound to a human. When a lesser dragon bound to a human ascended to the ranks of real dragons, even if a lesser status kind, this tattoo would appear on their body. It would slowly reveal the degree of strength the dragon had and potential as well as its type some type or race.

  ROAR!

Suddenly, to the shock of both young man and elder, Frost covered Tryus’s body while it’s body inside began to shine blue like a flame.

“What is going on?” Rufus asked.

In seconds, bolts of lightning began from the instability of chaos began to come off Tryus’s body.

“The Dragon Core is forming while causing chaos! Don’t tell me it is going to become some kind of Chaos Dragon!?” the elder said standing. He instantly pulled out his wand and from it countless lights shot out and hit the ground around the magic formation creating a bright barrier when a magic formation was formed.

  ROAR!

A more powerful roar came as the frost shell broke and a blizzard burst but the body of the drake had turned into blazing blue flames. It was like cold flames but the flames released a great deal of chaotic turbulence.

“Can Univa handle this?!” Rufus asked when he suddenly remembered his sister was circling all the same mana and instantly looked at her.

To his shock, a circle of fire and ice was floating around her unexpectedly.

Slowly they would overlap but break off release large shockwaves and electrical discharges.

“It must be because she did not destroy the Blizzard Breath.” The elder said.

“But sir, this shouldn’t have caused too much of a difference.” Rufus said.

The elder shook his head not understanding but he felt it, the energy from the chaos turbulence forming mana inside both their bodies but this chaos allowed fire and ice to slowly merge more.

The blizzard was getting smaller while the flames stronger while around Univa the rejection was getting weaker as the two opposites grew more stable with each other.

The elder knew that this was rather big. He set up a barrier around Univa, it was already too late to back out of it, and a breakthrough starts to happen there is no stepping back, not to mention a natural break through like this that is many times better than a forced breakthrough.

All the males of the Null family have all felt the result of a forced breakthrough as it leaves them unconscious and injured.

He just watched to see what was going on. From the drake, its body was burning and freezing erratically as the two elements slowly mixed but Univa was slowly closing the gap.

  Bang! Bang! SHEEE!

When finally there was no rejection the circle of elements began to grind. In between them was a chaotic energy slowly forming releasing tremendous heat and energy from the merging of the opposite energies.

Slowly they pushed more forming a net of chaotic electric energy that wrapped the circles trying to find stability. Univa did not even feel it as her body naturally flowed the mana in her body and into Tryus.

  CHA!

Suddenly all the lightning, fire and ice vanished and what was once a turbulence had become nothing more than a line of intense concentrated heat. Around Tryus, the same happened, an awe inspiring energy of heat be it a freezing heat or a burning heat it slowly began to find a balance in the chaos and was sucked into the body of the two.

  Tr
yus opened his jaw, suddenly the chaotic distortion like before appeared but this time the electric chaos appeared only for a short while before breaking down causing a spatial ball to appear but from it an intense heat was spreading out.

“Impossible! It has mastered a Chaos Spell!” The elder shouted before the drake aimed down and shot the ball that hit the ground and suddenly all sound disappeared as the first barrier broke before it was stopped by the elder’s barrier but even so the immense energy was released. Tryus roared as his body was torn to shred but in his chest, the dragon core that was half formed cracked and broke but was not recalled. Instead it was bathed in the chaos and began to float up and form into a complete 20 cm circular gemstone as it completely absorbed this chaotic heat inside containing this chaos inside.

Then slowly the mana was expelled and began to form bones, nerves, organs, muscles and finally the skin and scales. What was amazing was that the Dragon was 18 meters long, full four legs, it had a few horns crowning its head. The scales were bright blue like the sky. The two wings were as long as it’s body each. It barely fit in the barrier but it growled and roared a true dragon’s roar as it’s complete dragon aura burst forth with majesty.

“This… this is a Chaos Type Dragon… a Lesser Sapphire Heat Dragon.” The elder said in shock before a sweat appeared on his head and a grin accompanied as he looked at the Young girl who was slowly opening her eye. The power to hold Chaos of Heat was immense. The elder smiled and laughed, “Child, go fetch your father.” the elder said ignoring the ranking and sent Rufus while calling him child instead of young master like common. This was due to the shock that he did not notice. He only thought of the girl as the highest authority now. A Chaos Dragon was a very rare existence. It isn’t easy to create creatures of opposing nature. Such creature are anomaly with power beyond their level.

Ashley, Night, Tryus, these three were all in one way a Chaotic existence. Now it was impossible for the Crost to not pay attention to Univa with such a dragon.

The girl stood up and looked a Tryus and walked over as he bent over to let her pet him. Even if she was as such her thoughts were somewhere else, “Now I caught up… maybe.” She thought before blushing and feeling her heart beat rise and her cheeks burn.

She shook her head as she scratched the scar under his chin making him hum in pleasure just like he did when she first acquired him. Even if his form had changed it had not affected the being he was, the cute little dragon that liked having the small scar under his chin scratched.

“Ahahahaha! These swords are so beautiful!” Ashley said as she admired the several hundred magic swords made of Wyrm bone. “Nature Wyrm bone swords really are a different thing to common wood.” She said while swinging the sword raising a strong gust before nodding and putting the sword back into the bone it had come from.

Strangely, different bones resulted in different sword types from something like a pocket knife sized sword from small joint bones to a large great sword from the skull.

After she checked them all, she separated the swords by type and size with the max per pile being 30. With more 900 vertebra, double that in ribs and a few other kinds of bones, there were at least 90 piles of bones that Xero could see but he lost count.

An entire space next to the dormitory had to be isolated so that they could work these bones properly. Finally when the last pile was made, she smiled.

“We are going to have all type of swords now from smallsword, short sword, long sword, Katana and variants of it’s kind and greatsword.” She said gleefully as she told her earth minions to cover the piles.

One by one they were covered and she put a sword spirit into each pile. The result was just like the dragon bones that Grunt had. It formed into a white bone shell of different sizes depending on the bones. There were really small ones while others were larger. As each landed, the mana surged towards it like a drain making the area slowly less dense as mana fell into this area like a pit.

“Alright master, it seems because there is so much mana, it will take only one week for all the swords to be ready. Because there is so much mana there won’t be a problem if master touches the ‘dragon egg’ and add spells. The mana they gather will be easiest to use during this time.” She said.

“Okay, thanks Ashley, I think I will take some of the long sword types as wood controllers.” Xero said. He marked 10 of them that were long swords and sat in front while he began to put down all the sequences and wood control formulas he knew. He then began to expand, the wood control had been something that was lacking greatly and it impaired the quality of the wood products.

Just as he was getting ready he felt the ground shake and he saw Ashley with the Winged Viper corpse and taking the Wood minions and spirit swords, she stabbed it all over the body so that they could start to feed of its bodies mana and nutrients like parasites.

Focusing, he began the first of many magical experiments which he would even use to teach the 15 students under his command later on.

  Chapter 16

As Xero was sitting in front of one of the Nature Dragonbone Sword Eggs, making the wood control main magic formula he suddenly jolted in surprise when he heard a huge crash from his father’s manor.

He sighed when he saw the sequence was ruined and broke it apart before he it could cause trouble later. Walking out, he looked around to see what was happening only to find Void landing face first near the front of the dormitory front door.

It should be noted that the door from the Null family manor to the dormitory had 6 meters of lawn, a two and a half high wall and gate, 4 meters of road, another two and a half meter high wall and another 8 meters before it got to the door. In other words he was thrown 14 meters and after looking at the family manor, he saw that it was actually from the second floor.

To his astonishment there was a female dwarf knight standing irritated.

“You damned man, you actually dare say you went to vent after having my father give you my hand in marriage to you!” The dwarf shouted.

“Wha?!” Xero was shocked by the sudden proclamation as the dwarf walked out and towards Void who was getting up with a big red mark on his face while he was holding his gut probably from a punch there.

“D-damned woman! W-why did you hit me!?” he asked.

“Damned woman! Oh ho? You really want this pretty lady to teach you your place baby boy! Ahaha this is going to be fun.” She said while cracking her knuckles.

“W-what is going on?” Xero finally asked.

The two looked at him and Void’s face brightened as he suddenly jumped high and stopped behind his little brother, “Little bro, this is the…” He stopped and coughed, “T-this is a knight from the capital that I… married because we had a…”

“You took her to bed?” Xero asked.

“You brat, where did you learn to talk like that!?” Void said slapping the back of his head.

“Hey, don’t try to hide behind the kid. Come to this lady and receive your beating baby boy. Then let this lady teach you not to speak nonsense about this lady.” She said and walked up and stopped in front of Xero and pat his shoulder and pushed him aside, “I’m Hilda, I’m your brother’s fiance, I’ll be taking this fool to teach him his place.” She said just to see Void jumping over the wall. She shook her head and laughed, “Run all you want baby boy. This pretty lady will catch you.” She laughed as she casually jumped and a rumble came from her landing before she ran.

Xero just looked on without understanding and walked out of the dormitory courtyard to see the dwarf running after Void.

In his confusion he headed inside where he found his older brother laughing while his father was scratching his head without knowing what to do.

Xero asked what just happened and who the dwarf is. Unlike being outside, inside, Nil revealed it all making Xero flabbergast. “Isn’t brother a little too lucky? Or is it unlucky?” Xero asked.

“Well actions have consequences.” Zip chuckled and got up
, “What about you little bro, you already brought two girls home and even visited one of theirs, if anything, with you being 12 years old you can already get engaged.” Zip said grinning and raising his brow. He walked over and crouched while pulling Xero in close, “So lil bro, which do you like more, the halfling or the Crost girl?” He grinned.

Xero blushed and pushed his arm off, “We are just friends and classmates. Univa was even a bully when I was in the first year but just became more quiet after last year.” Xero said.

  Zip nodded.

“Boss, stop teasing lil bro. We need to get to work.” Cinder said drinking deeply her ale but was completely unaffected.

“Alright, come on, there are several orders for weapons so let go.” Zip said grabbing a cup and drinking before walking out.

Xero sighed, “I’ll go back to setting up the spells for the Sword Minions.” Xero said and left.

In the room Nil watched his third son leave and snorted a laugh, “All three of my boys are already grown up and Xero will definitely surpass all three of us.” He said and stretched as he took his sword and told his commanding knight to gather the men for training drill and sparring matches.

In the upper city, a considerable section was taken up and cleared. Within this area there were hundreds of dragon type creatures and many servants who were constantly working and improving the beauty of the place as well as the practically of it. Within a floral area, there were many elders and family members who were celebrating.

This was a party that was set up by the Crost family for Univa who somehow developed, and it was confirmed, a Chaos Dragon, a Lesser Sapphire Heat Dragon Adolescent. It brought immense pride to the Crost family that they set out invitations for a party.
