Little Bird

His hand released my hair, sliding down and caressing my breast through my shirt before sliding down under my shirt and back up, his fingers slipping under my bra and grasping me again. I gasped at his touch, his mouth still working against mine, our breath mingling as our bodies pressed together. His hardness pushed into my thigh, hot and throbbing through his jeans, a delicious promise of what was to come.
He growled as I pressed my thigh into him, letting all my inhibitions fall away. This was obviously happening and I decided to just go with it and give in because I knew I’d kick myself later if I resisted now, no matter how fast it was all moving.
His kiss turned harder as I pressed into him, and he squeezed my breast hard, causing me to gasp again into his mouth. He pulled away his eyes searching mine for a quick instant.
“Where’s your bedroom, Little Bird?”
I grabbed his hand and led him down the short hallway, wondering if he was always going to call me that. It was endearing but still a little weird. I led him into my bedroom and he shut the door behind us quickly. I winced, knowing Gigi would hate the door being closed. She wasn’t used to being shut out, ever, and I wasn’t sure if she’d break the door down or scratch at it, or eat it, honestly. I ignored my fears, pushing them away as Nathaniel gently pushed me back onto the bed.
I looked up at him and watched in awe as he reached down and pulled open the fly of his Levi’s before kicking off his boots. Mesmerized, my mouth fell open as he pushed them over his thighs, his black boxers going with them, before kicking them off and standing back up in front of me completely naked.
A gush of breath rushed across my lips.
He was beautiful. Massive. Flawless.
“Wow,” I whispered, as I shook my head in disbelief. Slowly closing the distance between us again, his lips quickly brushed against mine before he reached down and grabbed the hem of my blouse and lifted it. Obediently, I raised my arms, and he pulled it off and threw it on the floor behind me, leaving me sitting in front of him in my bra and jeans.
“Stand up,” he ordered. With shaking thighs, I pulled myself to my feet, a bewildered smile plastered to my face. I reached behind my back, unhooking the clasp of my bra and pulling it off. I stood half-naked in front of him and a slow, approving smile spread across his face. I waited for his hands to fall on me, but he just stood there staring.
“Now the rest,” he growled, his eyes dilating with desire.
With trembling fingers, I reached down and unzipped my jeans, wiggling out of them and letting them fall to the floor before stepping out of them. Standing only in a pair of black lace panties, I took a deep breath, watching him stare at me wordlessly.
His eyes darkened with lust as he took a step forward, waves of heat rolling off of him. He reached out, his touch searing my hardened nipple as he thumbed first one, then the other. I gasped, arching my back, begging for more. Slowly, he pushed me back onto the bed, climbing between my open thighs and hovering over me.
His lips fell on mine, his kisses long and lingering, searching my mouth for what seemed like hours as his soft hands explored my skin, running over my arms, my breasts, my belly, my hips.
His hardness throbbed against my bare thigh and I lifted my hips in a silent plea. He lifted his mouth from mine, smiling down at me with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He shook his head slowly.
“No, Little Bird, not yet,” he whispered, before sliding down my body, his skin velvety against my own. Trailing kisses down my body, I whimpered at the heat of each one. His breath against my skin felt like fire. His kisses lingered at the top of my thighs, his silky hair caressing me as he worked his way down to my center. Quivering with need, I reached down and sank my fingers into his hair.
“Please, please,” I begged.
His mouth was so close, yet felt so far away that I would have done anything for him, if he only gave me what I wanted, what I needed so desperately.
“Beg me again,” he whispered, his breath still hot on my thighs.
“Please!” I insisted, my voice rising in frustration. With a low growl, he bent his head, his tongue sliding into me smoothly, hotly, expertly.
“Yessss!!!” I cried, wrapping my thighs around his shoulders and pressing into him as he gave me everything I was begging for.
His mouth pulled every ounce of pleasure from my body, leaving me shuddering in ecstasy below him as I crashed over the edge, over and over, his mouth working relentlessly against me as wave after wave of pleasure washed over me.
Slowly, he pulled away, sliding back up with a satisfied smile.
“Oh, Little Bird, that was so lovely,” he whispered, as he pulled away and leaned down, fumbling in his jeans. Quickly, he retrieved a condom from his jeans and then slid it on and hovered over me, smiling down into my eyes as slid his hardness into me in one long, smooth stroke.
I gasped in surprise, breathless, every nerve in my body alive with his essence. He filled me completely, throbbing and hot and so hard and firm inside me. I stared up at him, my eyes wide as he moved against me, his hips slowly rising and falling with each thrust. I wrapped my thighs around them, pulling him in deeper.
“More,” I begged.
He growled down at me, his eyes dark and sensuous, as he pressed harder into me, his slow strokes turning harder, faster, until he was slamming into me with all his strength, the delicious slide of his body against mine leaving me trembling in pleasure.
I watched him above me, his eyes closed, his rippling body hammering into me, and tried to remind myself that this wasn’t a dream. His cock twitched inside of me and he threw his head back, his thrusts savagely speeding up until he froze, a violent growl escaping from his lips as he exploded hotly, my cries mixing with his, my body spasming with his in a perfect dance that blurred the lines between sensuality and pleasure and pain.
Chapter 7
DOVE
He was still there when I woke up.
We’d made love all night, his body seemingly blessed with unending energy and stamina. As soon as we’d finish, he was ready to start again, leaving me quivering for hours with pleasure.
But now, he slept. Lying peacefully under the white eyelet lace comforter my grandmother had given me, he looked like a painting, scrolled with inky pictures engraved into his tanned skin.
Untangling myself from his sleeping frame, I quietly grabbed my jeans off the floor and a fresh t-shirt from my dresser and padded out into my living room to face a very angry Gigi.
“Hey girl,” I whispered, rubbing her head. She glared at me and walked straight to the back door. “Okay, okay,” I said, pulling the door open and letting her into the backyard.
I watched as she walked around and took care of her business, hoping she wouldn’t stay mad at me for long.
“Did you see him, Gigi?” I asked. “How can you be mad at me for that?”
She ignored my pleas and I leaned against the doorframe, the morning sun bathing the yard in gorgeous beams of sunlight. I tried to wrap my head around what had occurred in the last few hours, but it was difficult.
Later, I’d call Violet and I couldn’t wait to hear her reaction when I told her I slept with Nate Nash. She probably wouldn’t believe me. The thought of grabbing my phone and taking a picture of him sleeping in my bed for proof crossed my mind, but then I realized just how creepy that was, and quickly pushed it away.
Last night had been a dream.
Nash’s body was like a perfect landscape I wanted to explore every inch of. And there were so many inches! Between his long, lanky limbs to the masterpiece between his legs, the adventure seemed endless. I was still reeling from the entire situation. Soon, he’d wake up and we’d have to actually have a conversation again and then he’d be gone, just like that. Like he’d never actually arrived in the first place. Just as quickly as it started, it would be over.
He’d be back onstage, whipping his fans into an obsessive frenzy.
There was no doubt that I’d inevitably see him o
n television or Instagram and all I’d have left is the memory of this one unbelievable night. I laughed at the thought of trying to tell anyone about this, let alone Violet. Of course, they wouldn’t believe me. Why should they?
I didn’t care if anyone believed me, though.
Because Nate Nash was still sleeping in my bed at this very moment.
No matter what happened I had this memory now and nobody could take that away from me. I smiled at the thought, closing my eyes and doing my best to engrave every second into my brain, knowing the older I got, the more I’d want to remember.
Old lady me will be proud, I thought, with a chuckle.
Gigi looked my way, still giving me the evil eye.
“Oh, stop,” I said, turning away from her and walking back into the kitchen. I needed to feed her, but I also figured I should make breakfast for us, too. I opened my fridge and frowned. There wasn’t much to work with, as I wasn’t too keen on cooking for myself.
“Shit,” I muttered. I fed Gigi, then jumped in the shower. I figured if he was still asleep by the time I got out, I’d make a quick trip to the store. After the debacle at the restaurant last night, I assumed going out for brunch was probably a bad idea.
I dried off and got dressed again. He was just waking up as I walked back into the bedroom. His sleepy face melted my heart and I sat on the edge of the bed, contemplating crawling back in with him.
“Hey,” I whispered. “Good morning.”
“Good morning, Little Bird,” he said, stretching his arms over his head and flashing me a smile.
“I was just going to the store to get stuff to make for breakfast,” I said. “You must be starving.”
“I am,” he said, reaching for me and pulling me back into his arms. “But not for food.”
He growled playfully, kissing me. I kissed him back then smiled up at him.
“I can’t believe you’re actually here,” I said.
He smiled, then sighed. “I like being here,” he said. “Unfortunately, it’s not for nearly long enough.”
“That’s right, you said you were leaving soon,” I replied.
He looked at me thoughtfully, then cocked his head. “I am,” he nodded. “But so are you.”
“So am I what?”
“Pack a bag, Little Bird. You’re coming with me,” he said, his eyes twinkling.
“What?” I laughed.
“I’m serious,” he said, lifting a brow. “I need you. You’re coming on tour with me.”
“What!” I cried. “You can’t be serious.”
“Why wouldn’t I be serious?” he asked. “Of course I am.”
“I can’t go on tour,” I insisted, my laughter bubbling over. “I have this house to take care of, my job — not to mention Gigi!”
“The house will be fine without you. And just tell your job you’re taking a leave of absence or vacation or whatever. Gigi can come with us.”
I looked at him in disbelief.
“Nathaniel,” I said, shaking my head.
“Stop right there,” he said, lifting a hand. “Honestly, only my mother calls me Nathaniel. Call me Nate.”
“Okay, fine, Nate,” I said. “But I can’t just up and leave like that.”
“Why not? Give me one good reason,” he insisted.
He wasn’t smiling. He was dead serious.
I stopped, trying to think of a reason.
The truth was, the house was fine without me. And I did have some unused vacation time. And Gigi was actually an excellent traveler.
But this all seemed so absurd, so spontaneous. Go on tour with him?
“That’s what I thought!” he insisted again, when I didn’t reply. “It’s settled then. You’re coming!”
I opened my mouth to protest again, but he pulled me back into his arms and my words disappeared in his kisses.
Chapter 8
DOVE
After shooting off an email to my boss at the hospital, and hoping like hell I didn’t get fired, I started packing.
“How long should I pack for?” I asked Nate as he lounged in my bed watching me rifle through my closet.
He shrugged. “A week or so? You can always buy new things, if necessary.”
I laughed, shaking my head. “I can’t believe I’m doing this. Wait, don’t I need a plane ticket or something? Or, are we driving? You probably have a fancy tour bus.” I thought of the truck I’d seen him driving and didn’t figure we’d get very far in that.
“We’re flying to Los Angeles for a few days, then we leave for tour on the bus,” he shrugged. “I have my own plane, so you don’t need a ticket.”
“Your what?” I asked, raising a brow. “You can’t be serious.”
“They’re not as expensive as you might think,” he said, folding his arms behind his head and watching me.
“Right,” I murmured, looking in dismay at the clothes hanging in my closet. I’d only bought the one outfit for our date last night and it was painfully obvious that I was in no way prepared to go on tour with a major rockstar.
“Hurry up, Little Bird,” Nate prodded. “We’re leaving in an hour and I need to go say goodbye to my Dad.”
I walked out of the closet and smiled at the sight of him. He’d still not bothered to put any clothes on at all, languishing naked in my bed, his tan skin and tattoos contrasting against my white bedding.
“Maybe you should go do that while I pack?” I said. “I have to get Gigi’s stuff together, too. Are dogs allowed on your private jet?” I laughed at the absurdity of my words.
“You can bring a horse, if you want,” he shrugged, crawling out of the bed and throwing his clothes on. I watched with regret as inch by inch, his skin disappeared.
“She’s almost as big,” I said. “Seriously, are you sure about this? She drools a lot. And honestly, Nate, I don’t know if I even have the appropriate clothes for this,” I said.
“There you go again,” he said.
“What?”
“Acting like I’m giving you a choice,” he said, kissing my nose. “You’re coming. You both are. It’s settled.”
He pulled on his boots and walked out of my bedroom, grabbing his keys and the rest of his things he’d discarded by the door last night.
“And listen, Little Bird, don’t sweat about your wardrobe — just bring jeans and t-shirts. Casual is in style these days. And like I said, we’ll get new stuff.”
“Casual,” I parroted. “Got it.”
“You’d look beautiful in anything, anyway,” he said, flashing me his million dollar smile. That thing worked magic, because for a moment, I believed him.
“Okay,” I whispered, as he brushed his lips against mine.
“I’ll be back in half an hour,” he said, turning and walking out. He stopped just outside the door, looking up and down the street before he walked down the sidewalk to his truck. He waved as he drove away and I took a deep breath as I walked back in.
As soon as I closed the door, I let out a huge scream and sank to the floor. I only had a few moments, but now that I was alone, it was time to thoroughly freak out.
Gigi walked over to me, checking on me.
“We’re going on an adventure, Gigi,” I said, as she lapped at my cheeks.
Chapter 9
DOVE
And what an adventure it turned out to be.
From the moment Nate returned to pick us up, this time with a limo and driver that whisked us away to the VIP section of Portland International Airport, to his luxurious, sleek personal jet, to the two gorgeous flight attendants that catered to our every whim and doted over Gigi as we flew to Los Angeles, it all seemed surreal.
My eyes stayed wide as saucers throughout the short flight, but Nate looked completely at ease. Now that I saw him in this environment, I felt like a fool for not recognizing him before.
But once we landed in L.A., everything turned wild.
Nate slipped on a pair of dark sunglasses before grabbing my hand and leading me dow
n the jet’s narrow staircase. Gigi followed behind, her tail wagging excitedly.
My eyes widened even more as I saw the scene waiting for us. Parked a few yards away from the end of the stairs was another limo, with another driver holding the door open. Right at the end of the stairs was another man, dressed in a dark suit with sunglasses that matched Nate’s.
He nodded at Nate as we approached. “Boss.”
“Hey, Rocco,” Nate greeted him. “This is Dove. She’s with me. And this is Gigi.” He turned to me. “Rocco, I’ll need you to keep an eye on these girls for me.”
“Understood,” Rocco replied, giving Gigi a pet. I was shocked to see her sit at his feet. “Nice to meet you, Miss.”
“Hello,” I replied, trying to take it all in, but I was most distracted by what was going on about half a football field away. Behind a tall chain-link fence, a crowd had gathered and they were currently going nuts — waving and shouting Nate’s name, waving ‘I love you, Nash!’ signs and doing their best to get his attention.
He flashed them a smile and waved, before following Rocco to the limo, his hand gripping mine firmly the entire time. Camera flashes went off and they kept shouting excitedly.
“Hop in,” Nate said, when we reached the limo. I motioned for Gigi to jump in first, then slid in before Nate and Rocco climbed in after us and closed the door, cocooning us inside. Instantly, the sound of the crowd outside disappeared and Nate looked over at me with a sheepish smile.
“This happens everywhere?” I inquired.
He shrugged. “You get used to it.”
I looked out the tinted window as the limo drove us away, watching the crowd still frantically waving, tears rolling down some of the girl’s faces.
“How could you ever get used to that?”
“You’d be surprised the things you can get used to,” he laughed, settling back into the buttery soft black leather seats. He turned his attention to Rocco. “Is there anything I need to know?”
