Sonya. Something within me was drawn to this warrior woman. It wasn’t her lithe body hardened with the muscles of a veteran warrior, nor the blond hair pulled back exposing her long pale neck. It was not the scarred pale flesh, nor the tags around her neck that spoke of a history of violence.

I was drawn to her fire, like a moth to flame. She was every bit as beautiful as Sun, just taller, strong, not blue, and way deadlier. Her eyes never left mine, and I remained wary. Especially upon noticing her fingerless gloves slotted with metal rods—gloves with a bloody and violent history.

Redd Eden was a badass, and she was giving me a fear boner.

“Sonya, my name is Deuce. Daws, your sister, sent me, and I guess Kin did too.” I hesitated to mention Kin because while I liked the guy, it felt like him and Sonya had a history that might bite me in the ass. And I was not wrong. Her eyes flexed wider when I mentioned Daws and narrowed when I said Kin.

“Mistress, he saw the symbols,” Sun spoke softly but Sonya’s head snapped towards her. “I came out to get him because he was staring at the pillars and touching the stone.”

  “Is this true?”

“I think we should talk inside,” I said nervously, and Sonya indicated I should follow, and we stepped inside the brothel.

  Chapter 29

  Location: Chateau d’Lewd

“Sun, keep yourself available after this. I think this one has taken a liking to you and you can be his treat if he behaves.”

“Uh I—” My cheeks were burning, and I almost used my safe line of having a girlfriend, but fuck that. I’m a young guy on the cusp of death, and I’d be a fool to pass up an opportunity with a woman as beautiful as Sun. “I’d like that,” I finished lamely.

Sonya brought me down a set of stairs and into a windowless cellar. At the end of a small hallway, she opened the door into a study with a cozy fireplace and comfortable looking furniture. She took a seat behind her mahogany desk and waved me over to a chair.

Before I sat down, I placed the key Daws gave me on the desk.

“My sister must trust you.” Sonya picked up the key and looked it over before putting into the desk. “Tell me about the symbol in the stone.”

“I could see and sense the [Order of the Dragon’s] mark,” A small blade appeared in Sonya’s hand, and I rushed to tell the rest. “I’m a [Dragon Fist], and I will revive the Order once more.”

“And Kin? How does he come into this?”

“I was in Shreddit when I gained my class. Kin is the [Monk] trainer there, and he told me you were the only person in this area I could trust. He said you might help me.” I paused, unsure if I should say more and decided she needed to know. “The Father captured him and tried to convert him into a gnok. They cut out his eyes.”

Sonya was quiet for a long time, and I said nothing, knowing the contemplative nature of [Monk] based classes. But I did remove my hand wraps, and displayed the tattoos on all four arms. The flames had shifted, which was terrifying and awesome.

“The Order of the Dragon…” She finally whispered. “Come with me, because I need to reward you for bringing the key.”

We left the study and took another nearby door into a much larger room lit by so many magical lanterns it felt like day time. I found myself in a gym, or probably a dojo, with different equipment for strength, agility, and endurance training. A door on the left side of the room led into a magically enhanced space with bookshelves lining every wall. Every shelf crammed full of manuals, scrolls, and books. The setup was nothing short of amazing.

“Never use your fire outside my training room. If you burn my place down, I will kill you repeatedly until the Soulkeeper throws you into the heap of the undesirables.” Sonya did not sound like she was joking either. She pulled a few books from the shelf and placed them on a nearby table. “You will study these, and then we will go in there and work you over until you’ve learned them. Read up on [Ku Strike] first, because it is the first one I’ll help you transform. Take this too.”

A ring sailed through the air, and I snagged it. Before inspecting it, I knew it was priceless by the level of detail on it.

[Item Name: Signet of the Inner Dragon

  Item Type: Magical - Legendary

  Requirement: Fire-based Ku; Inner Dragon

  Durability: Indestructible

  Armor: 5

Effect: Inner Dragon Acuity - Your mind expands with dreams of fire and destruction, and your comprehension of Advanced Class Skills related to fire are 30% easier to acclimate.

Effect: Increased attack and movement speed (5% Haste)]

A greedy part of me wanted to take the item and not question it, but I couldn’t. “This is too much.”

“Idiot,” She responded. “An [Inner Dragon] has many elemental affinities. And there are plenty of classes out there that use them. However, there is only one advanced class I know of that has a Fire-based Ku and has an [Inner Dragon].” She tapped my forehead. “Take the ring; no one else can use it.”

“Oh.” When she put it that way, I had no reservations about using it.

“Now read. I’ll be back in an hour.” Sonya left, hips swaying with the grace of a tiger. My movements felt jerky and slow compared to her, and I glanced up at her staring over her shoulder at me. She caught me staring at her ass and smiled as she left.

I flipped open the cover of the first book and mentally prepared myself for a long night. Learning the knowledge wasn’t hard, because I realized this was the base [Monk] ability for [Dragon Strike]. I had not yet learned the ability, but between the two books I was almost there when Sonya showed up. I was not wrong, it was a long night, and she pummeled me hundreds of times worse than Blaze Bot 8.

Sonya also joined the order when we were done.

  [Order of the Dragon (Summary)

Tier 1 (Next tier requires 5 members)

  Members: 3

  - Deuce Bigbelow (Owner | Dragon Fist)

  - Kin - Monk (Path of Fire)

  - Sonya - Unknown (Unknown)

Next Tier Bonus: At 5 members you will be able to establish a hideout or base.]

Afterward, a pink-haired beauty soothed away the pain. It turns out, her courtesan class had plenty of tantric healing abilities.

Oh, and I was no longer a virgin. Then again, this was virtual, did that still count? And Dr. Mario made some comments that might imply that he already took my virginity, but if I don’t remember it, then it didn’t happen.

  Chapter 30

  End of Day Two

  Location: Summary Room

After the third time, I gave Sun a firm slap on her butt and extricated myself from her nails which dug into the flesh of my back. I fell back and laid there trying to catch my breath. Her little body curled up into the two arms on my left side, and I could feel her breathing heavily against my chest.

It was not long before my eyes closed and I fell into a deep slumber… Yea right. Once again, I felt that moment of bliss as I fell asleep and then my awareness came back as if I had ten cups of coffee.

  [Today’s Summary]

What the hell? I wondered if I should complain about this because that transition from sleep to this was rough. I sighed and hit the [Experience] tab.

  [Experience Summary:

  Current Level: 2

Unspent Experience: 1143 XP (Today: 1120 XP | Carried Over: 23 XP)

Experience needed for level 3: 1500 XP

  Alternate Experience Purchases:

  —One Time Purchases—

  Level 2:

  Any Level:

  Author Skill (Purchased)

  —Unlimited Purchases—

+1 XP Coin (Cost: 100 XP)

How would you like to spend your Experience?]

This display was a lot cleaner looking without the OTMs. It didn’t help my XP pool or getting me to the next level, but it was nice all the same.

&
nbsp; “I would like to purchase the Attribute and Acclimation points.”

“All right, would you like to confirm these purchases or start over?”

“Confirm and put the attribute point into Agility.”

  [Agility +1]

I held off on distributing the Acclimation points until I saw my skills again. I hoped I could push an ability to the next rank. A random thought popped into my head.

“I wanted to know if I could turn this two-dimensional setup into a three-dimension workspace? Like maybe a desk with some paper for notes and then all these screens opened at the same time so I can see them all at once?”

“You are the first to ask, and yes you may. You completed a hidden quest, so when check your rewards tab.” The genderless voice took on a distinctly male sound and echoed around me. In the blink of an eye, my viewpoint shifted, and I was standing in a study similar to Sonya’s.

I sat at the big desk and the moment my butt hit the seat, several floating screens appeared, showing all the previous tabbed data. Everything had collapsible menus so I could see just the summaries, and even the skills just showed a name, the current rank, and the rank to the next level. On the desk were two cubes, one listed as [Pugilist] and the other was [Monk].

“The cubes represent classes you’ve unlocked. You can review the skills and Acclimation data on any of them. In the drawer on your left, you’ll see professions. Based on your thought process, which is fairly rudimentary, I gathered you did not care too much about those, so I’ve hidden them away.”

It was exactly what I wanted, snark aside. The screens moved at a thought, and the skills screen slid to the front of my vision.

Skill Rank: Novice (Next Rank: 15 AP)

  Acclimation Points (AP): 13

Type: Activated (Requirements: Ignited Inner Dragon)

Effect: Focus your Fire Ku into your strikes. This can applies to any part of your body you used to strike your opponent. (This is a very difficult attack to master. Ideally you want to balance your fire and physical damage perfectly. The closer to perfection you get the higher your damage. If you strike with a perfect balance with less than 1% variation, you will land a critical strike. A critical strike is 200% damage to their Base HP, plus another 20% because of your Inner Dragon.)

Effect: Ignores 15% of AC (Armor)

Effect: Fire Resistance to this attack is reduced by 15%

Effect: 30% Chance to Burn your target. (Burn deals 2 points of fire damage every 5 seconds. Its duration is 30 seconds. Duration is 50% longer because you have an Inner Dragon of Fire.)

  Skill: Fire Shard Shuriken (C)

Skill Rank: Novice (Next Rank: 15 AP)

  Acclimation Points (AP): 5

  Type: Activated (Requirements: Inner Dragon)

Effect: Conjure a shuriken using solidified fire.

Effect: When thrown, it turns into flame when it strikes your target. Burn damage is applied if the target is flammable. (Duration: 10 seconds | Bonus Duration: Because of your dragon fire, it increases the duration 50%)

Warning: Do not store these items. The shurikens revert into fire. It is recommended you absorb these items back into your core if you do not use it.

  Skill: Flame Dance (C)

  Skill Rank: Master

  Acclimation: See [Merging]

Type: Passive (Can be toggled off)

Effect: +10% Combat Haste & Agility

Effect: All attacks will absorb heat from your target, slowing their reaction speed by 2%.

Effect: +15% Dancing, Walking, and Running speed.

Effect: All movement absorbs ambient heat around you and will create a flaming after image when you move too quickly. While in combat, your feet and fists will have an illusionary flame covering them. This is purely visual effect, and you can disable it.

Warning: This passive is disabled if you are in water deeper than half a meter.

  Skill: Fire Slide

  Skill Rank: Master

  Acclimation: See [Merging]

  Type: Activated (Requirements: Fire-based Ku)

Effect: You can slide through fire any distance at ten times your normal speed.

Restriction 1: Fire has to be present.

Restriction 2: Cannot jump from one fire to another, they must be continuous.

OTM: This skill is dangerous. If the fire shifts or the fire is put out before you reach your destination you could be sliced in half or exit the flames at deadly speeds. Increasing your Intelligence will help you process information faster, making this ability exponentially safer. Have fun.]

At first, I was going to skim the skills, but the upgrades to my default Monk skills were huge. I’d have to thank Sonya for [Flame Dance] because that was awesome. I disabled to illusion effect for now because I didn’t want to freak out my bedmate. Next, I pulled up the loot and realized Sonya must have paid me for the quest.

  [Unacknowledged Loot:

OTM: There are no dumb questions, right monkey? This is your reward for discovering the end of day summary can be a pleasant experience.

I closed all the windows, checked my messages and saw more spam. Once I deleted all those and was ready to complete everything, I questioned whether to continue with the [Luck Potions].

Hmm, was I pushing my luck?

These potions could go negative, but I was already up three points, so even if the next three uses were a negative one, I still broke even. Those were good odds, and I knew I wouldn’t stop at this point. Oh well, time for some sleep.
