Alpha's Moon

I took another sip and realized that the tea was all gone. I looked over to Lavender and find that she had a small smile on her face.

“It’s all gone.” I said a bit surprised.

“It doesn’t take much tea for the spell to work.” She said as she took the cup from me.

“Oh.” Was all I could say.

“Here’s Claudia’s cup of tea. Make sure she drinks all of it, otherwise it won’t work.” Lavender said as she placed a teacup in my hands and opened the door.

I gave her a nod and walked out of her shed and headed back toward the house. I walked into the house and found Claudia still asleep on the sofa. Everyone else was up and moving around but she was still sleeping peacefully. I walked over and gave her a small shake to wake her up. She slowly stirred awake. She rubbed her eyes as she sat up and stared at me.

  “What’s wrong?” she asked

“Nothing. Lavender made you a cup of tea and told me to bring it to you and make you drink it.” I told her as I sat the teacup on the coffee table.

She gave me a nod and took the cup from the table. She took a sip and let out a long sigh.

I gave her a smile and said, “Feel better now?”

“Yes, I do. Thank you.” She said as she took another long sip and placed the empty cup on the table.

I took the cup and saucer to the kitchen and placed it on the side counter since the sink was full of dishes. I shook my head and decided to do the dishes or else they would never get done. I turned the water on to warm and soaped up the sponge. As I washed the dishes my mind started to wander. It was going back and forth between two memories, the first one was when I left for college, and the other one was when I got home from college right after graduation.

When I left for school my mom and dad where standing outside with big smiles on their faces. Harper was a bit upset but he knew that he could come and see me and that I wouldn’t be gone for long. Everything that I was bringing had been loaded into the back of my old car. As I drove away from my family, I was glad that I could finally try to find my mate. I had been on the hunt for her up until the day Claudia and I met.

The day I came home from school after graduation was a bit much. It was right after my mom and dad were killed and I’d just found out that they had left the pack in my uncle’s hands. I was told that I couldn’t take the pack over until he felt comfortable that I could handle it on my own. It didn’t take long for him to feel comfortable with me handling things. Plus, he was getting sick and wasn’t really capable of keeping up with things anymore. I was glad that he hadn’t mentioned anything about me finding my mate. I had been in charge of the pack for about three years before I found out about Claudia and wanted to see if she really was my mate.

I wanted to be hundred percent sure that she definitely was my mate before I met her face to face. We had talked on the phone on and off for years but that was different. She had no idea that I could possibly be her mate and our conversations were always about business. I wanted to get everything just right before I met her, and plus the timing finally felt right. I wanted to be sure that when she told me that she was pregnant, I knew that I was ready to be a dad and to love her and the child, or in this case children.

I felt someone tap my arm which brought me back to earth. I looked over my shoulder to see that Kegan standing behind me. I turn around and splashed soapy water on him.

“Dude, I’m sorry.” I said as I started to laugh.

“It’s fine. Elliott and the others want to talk to you.” He said as he started to dry off his shirt.

I gave him a nod and mind linked Elliott, “Where are you all?”

“In the game room, we are waiting for you to get started.” He said.

I walked down the hallway under the stairs to the game room. I opened the door to find Elliott, James, Reese, Cole, Wen, Felix, Sam, and Ashton. They were all gathered around the pool table as Felix and Cole played a game. I walked to the sofa and sat down, as I looked around the room, I noticed that everyone was involved in one type of game or another. Wen, Reese and Ashton played darts, while Elliott and James played air hockey. Sam was the only one sitting on the sofa with me.

As I waited for the games to be over, I asked, “What are we talking about?”

“Protecting Claudia and the babies.” Sam said as he shifted positions on the sofa.

  “Oh?” I was bit puzzled.

The pool game had ended, and the dart game was ending shortly. The air hockey game was still going strong.

A few minutes went by before all the games were finally finished. Ashton walked over to the refrigerator and grabbed some beers. He handed the beers out to everyone and sat down.

“Okay, so what’s going on?” I asked as I took a swig of beer.

“When are you going to do the blood ritual?” Sam asked me as he too took a swig of beer.

“In a few days, why?” I asked as I looked around.

“We have been taking turns watching over Claudia and the babies. We need you to make a schedule of where you and Claudia are going to be at all times.” Cole said as he handed me a notebook and pen.

“That’s fine, I know she likes to go for runs every so often.” I told them as they gave me a nod.

“Who goes with her?” Cole asked.

“If it’s not me, then it’s Maxi, Emmett, or Marco. Paul sometimes goes with her as well.” I told them.

“Okay, good. One or more of us will be with her at all times as well.” Reese said.

“Thank you.” I told them all.

We decided to play some pool and drink beer until the sun came up. After several hours we had all passed out in the game room. I woke up to find Ella at the doorway.

“What’s the matter?” I asked her as she walked into the room.

“Claudia was looking for y’all. She wants to take all the girls out for a spa day. She’s been waiting for y’all to get up and get moving.” She said as everyone else in the room started to wake up.

“Oh, okay. I’ll be out in a few.” I told her.

I got up and headed upstairs to change for the day. After I changed, I headed back down to the living room. I decided to go to the cells ot check on things. I walked past the kitchen and grabbed a muffin. As I took a bite of the blueberry muffin, I heard a sigh from deeper inside the cells. I turned on the light and walked down the hall toward the cells. When I got further down the hall, I saw who had been making the sounds.

It was the girl that we took prisoner for spying on us. I don’t really remember her name.

“Hello, how are you?” I asked her.

She kept her face turned away from me and ignored me while I sat outside of her cell.

“You can talk to me, you know. It might save you from being killed.” I told her as I looked at her.

“I’ll be killed either way.” She said as she shrugged her shoulders.

“Why do you think that?” I asked her.

“Waylon will kill me for getting caught and you will kill me for being a part of Waylon’s pack.” She said as she turned towards me.

“Why would Waylon kill you? Do you have information about him that he doesn’t want us to have?” I asked her as I pushed my muffin towards her.

“Waylon wants to kill both of your packs and anyone who agrees to help you. That includes all of the packs you have here. You’re gathering packs, Waylon sees that as a threat. He has gathered his own packs as well.” She said as she took the muffin.

“Which packs has he been gathering?” I asked as I grabbed the keys.

“People from Eastern Canada, Russian, and Egypt. He could have gotten more since I’ve been here, but I can’t be sure. He was trying to get the Brazil pack, but who knows if he got it or not. He refuses to get Alaska’s pack because it’s all females and he refuses to ally himself with a female pack because he thinks they’re weak.” She started to ramble as she ate the muffin.

“The Russian pack is family, so I highly doubt that he got them on his si
de, and I’ll make a call to the Alaskan pack and see if they want to join us or just remain neutral.” I said as I unlocked her cell door.

“I am just letting you know what I was told before I was sent here to spy on y’all.” She said as she walked out of the cell.

We walked upstairs and into the kitchen, she was eyeing the pork and tofu Pad Thai. The vegetables were cooking in the wok. Wen was cooking tonight. The girl was drooling over the food and I didn’t blame her, it smelled amazing.

“Would you like some when it’s done?” I asked her as I let out a small laugh.

“Yes, please. It looks good.” She said as she looked at me.

I gave her a nod and walked into the living room and grabbed a seat on the sofa, she followed right behind me. I needed to tell the packs what she had told me.

I mind linked the rest of the Alphas, “Come into the living room please. I have something to tell you all.”

“On our way.” They all said at once.

A few minutes passed when they all gathered around the living room. I had Cecelia tell the guys what she told me. She began to tell them about all the packs that Waylon had planned on getting to fight against us. No one could believe what she was saying.

They all went quiet for a bit, then Wen called everyone for lunch. We all went into the kitchen and got in line to load our plates up with Wen’s Pad Thai. After we had loaded our plates up with the food, we sat at the dining room table. Wen called everyone to come and get their food as he walked over to the stairs and out to the deck.

Everyone came and gathered around the kitchen and dining room. We ate in silence, the only sounds heard were forks scraping on plates and people slurping up their food. When everyone was done, we lined up to put our dirty dishes in the dishwasher, then we all went our separate ways.

I walked over to the deck outside. I heard someone walk up behind me. I didn’t need to look to know who it was.

“What is it?” I asked him.

“Just seeing what you want to do about Cecelia?” Harper asked as he walked up beside me.

“Just set up a room for her.” I said as I lit a cigarette.

“Okay we can do that if you’re sure she won’t betray us. Now, what’s going on in that mind of yours?” he asked me as he leaned over the railing.

“This ritual that Claudia and I have to do… I’m just worried that it won’t work. I don’t want to lose any of them. They mean the whole fucking world to me. Also, the fact that Cecelia said that the Russian pack might be on Waylon’s side is pissing me off, why would family do that to us?” I asked as I took a long drag.

“Hey, everything will be okay. You won’t lose her or the babies. Everything will be fine. We can call the Russian pack and see if we can get them to reconsider their decision. We will get everything figured out.” He said as he patted my back.

I took a drag again before I said, “Let’s get in contact with them back at the office and then I need to go for a run. We also need to contact the Alaskan pack after we get ahold of the Russian pack.”

“We can contact them when we’re done here and then we can go for a run afterwards.” He told me as he looked out into the woods.

“Sounds good to me.” I said as I put out my cigarette.

We turned around and headed back inside as I let the last smoke curl out of my mouth. We headed into the office as Nikko, Ryden, and Emmett followed behind us. I didn’t mind, they needed to know what’s going on.

I opened the door to the office to see Paul at the computer, he didn’t realize that we had all walked in. I let out a small cough to let him know that he had company.

He looked up and said, “Sorry, do you need this?”

“No, what were you are looking at anyway?” I asked him.

“Oh, a few things, nothing important.” He said as he got up and started to walk towards us.

“Stop, what’s going on?” I said as I grabbed him by the shoulder.

He let out a long sigh and turned to walk back to the computer. He pulled up what he was looking at. To our amazement it was security video of Claudia and the girls at the spa. They looked like the where having a great time. Of course, Max, Marco, and Jarod stood along the back wall by the door as the girls where getting massaged.

I turn around and said, “They are all in great hands, don’t worry.”

“I know, I was just checking up on things.” He said as he took a deep breath.

“I came in to call the Russian and Alaskan packs.” I said as I grabbed the phone.

“Okay, I’ll stay in here, but why’re you calling them?” he asked me.

I leaned on the desk and told him what Cecelia had told me and as I went on, they were a bit surprised and a bit pissed all at once and it showed on their faces. When I was done, they couldn’t believe what I had told them.

I grabbed the phone and called the Alaskan pack first since they were closer and a bit more social since they were the only all girl pack. I had heard all but one was mated to another female.

“Hello?” A voice said on the other side of the phone.

“Hello, this is Carson Blackmen, Alpha of the Rivershore Pack. I am mated to Claudia Stonewell, Alpha of the Coldstone Pack. Am I speaking with Faye Lightman?” I asked.

“Yes, can I help you?” she asked.

“Yes, would you be willing to come down and help us with Waylon? He has been fucking shit completely up on our end and we need numbers. He is badly mistaken, but he seems to think that Claudia is his mate. We need help protecting her and destroying him.” I told her.

“Do you need my whole pack?” she asked.

“Yes please, if possible. Numbers are everything right now.” I told her as I gave the guys a smile.

“Okay, we will be there as soon as we can.” She said as she called out to her pack.

“Thank you, see you soon.” I told her right before hanging up.

I looked at the boys and gave them a thumbs up at the answer of the Alaskan Alpha.

I dialed the Russian pack number and waited till Ergys picked up the phone.

  “Zdravstvuyte? (Hello?)” He said.

“Buna, acesta este Carson. (Hello, this is Carson.)” I said to him.

“Kak pozhivayete? (How are you?)” He asked me.

“Bine, tu? (Good and you?)” I said.

“Delat’ khorosho. Zhizn’ khorosha. (Doing good. Life is good.)” He told me.

“Ne intrebam daca ne puteti sprijni? (We were wondering if you could back us up?)” I asked him.

“Na chem ya tebya podderzhivayu? (What am I backing you up on?” He asked me.

“Pe Waylon si protejand Claudia si bebelusii. (On Waylon and protecting Claudia and my unborn babies.)” I said.

“Da, ya pomogu. (Yes, I will help.)” He said.

“Multumesc, puteti veni curand? (Thank you, can you come soon?” I asked him a bit excited.

“YA mogu priyekhat’ na sleduyushchey nedele. (I can come next week.)” He told me as he called his Beta.

“Da, este uimitor. (Yes, that is amazing.)” I said as I gave the guys another thumbs up to tell them that Ergys was in.

“Uvidimsya v pnedel’nik. (See you Monday.)” He told me.

“Ne vendem luni. (See you Monday)” I replied before we hung up.

Paul looked a bit confused as I hung up the phone.

“Ok so… for those of us that don’t speak Russian or Romanian, what the hell did he say?” He asked as he paced the room.

I let out a laugh before I said, “He’s going to be arriving on Monday and then asked me how I was doing.”

“Oh, ok. So, we have him on our side?” He asked as he stopped in the middle of the room.

“Yes, I’m very confident that he will back us up.” I told him as I set the phone back down in its base.

“What about Faye?” He asked me.

“She is already on her way.” I told him.

“Okay, that’s great, thank you.” He said as he let out a sigh.

>   “Go relax or if you’d like you can come with us for a run.” I said as he started to pace the room again.

“Human or wolf form?” he asked as he paced the room.

“Human, so we can go longer distance without being seen.” I told him.

“Okay, I’ll go with you.” He said giving me a nod.

We headed out of the office and down the stairs to the front door. We walked outside and took off towards the water.

I mind linked to them, “Let’s run on the beach, the sand will help with our workouts and strength.”

They gave me a nod and we continued our way to the beach. We passed an abandoned house, but I could have sworn I saw someone in the house as I ran past it. I made a mental note to check it out on our way back. It could have been nothing, but I wanted to be sure.

I started to pick up my speed once we got on the sand. I wanted to keep up on conditioning and this was how I could do that. I would run in the sand every night until I couldn’t go anymore. Then I would take a break and run all the way back to the house stopping at Claudia’s house every time I passed it.

I could hear the pounding feet beside me and behind me. I picked up the speed again, pushing myself and the guys. I heard the heavy breathing behind me and a bit of cursing, too. I chuckled and shook my head.

I knew the guys were going to hate me after, but I didn’t care. They were going to thank me in the long run. As we came to the rock formation, I told them that we could take a break. I got to the rocks and stopped and waited for the guys to catch up. It didn’t take long for the guys to reach where I had stopped.

“You all okay?” I asked as I chuckled.

They all glared at me before Paul said, “I haven’t done this in forever.”

“Yeah, it seems like it’s been forever since we did this last.” Nikko said as he took a deep breath.

“Do you want to keep going or run back to the house?” I asked them.

“Back to the house, please.” They all agreed.

“We can always extend it each day.” Paul said.

I gave them a nod and said, “Okay, I want to check a house out that’s on our way home. Are the girls home yet?” I asked as I looked at them.
