“Good.” I pulled out of Crow’s embrace, taking a step closer to her. She didn’t back away. “No one in this room will talk. That secret is locked in the vault, never to be opened again.”
“What will you tell them?”
“That everywhere I looked was a dead end and close the case. That doesn’t mean they won’t hire someone else.” Her eyes widened. “But I’ll keep my net open and see if that happens. If it does, we’ll make sure you’re hidden.”
My focus moved briefly to Greer letting him know I meant every single word of what I said. He cared for her. I cared for her. Together, we would care for her. It was a brief connection between the two of us that really started to mend the breach between us. It would be a long road, but something was a hell of a lot better than nothing.
“I can’t believe you’re being so nice.”
Reaching out I touched her arm. “Not everyone are assholes in this world, but there are a lot. The key to get through life is to stay clear of them.”
She reached out and grabbed me, pulling me close to her. I lost my balance, and she took on all my weight. Crow was at my back helping me get steady. “Thank you,” she said in my ear.
Getting my balance back, I hugged her genuinely. “You’ve just got yourself extended family, Aubrey. One call to me, and I’ve got your back.”
I meant that with everything inside of me.
Now to lie through my damn teeth to the assholes who should rot six feet under.

Brewer and Wrong Way at my sides and Tex and Phoenix behind them, we rode. The day was beautiful for a long ride, which was good because the next stop was a long trip.
Pulling into the driveway, a woman stood in the window, her eyes locked on us. The first time we were here she wasn’t too thrilled about it. But who would be with a dickhead of a man she had.
He was dead and buried.
I knocked on the door, Brewer and Wrong Way with me.
It slowly opened. “I don’t know where he is,” she blurted out on a rush.
A smile tipped my lips as I held out a padded envelope. “What’s this?” she asked, hesitant to take it. Smart.
“A gift to help you out. Know we freaked you out the last time we were here, and wanted to do something nice.”
“Nice? Does anyone do nice anymore?” she questioned.
“Not really. But we are right now.” I shook the package in front of her.
She took it, opened up the flap, and looked inside. When her eyes lifted to us, her mouth had dropped open. “Oh my God.”
“Have a good day, ma’am,” I said as we turned away and went to our bikes.
Just as we were about to fire up our bikes, we heard a “Thank you!” At that, we rode off to our next stop.
It was dusk when we got there, the perfect time. We parked three blocks away and walked the rest.
We rang the doorbell, and moments later it opened. Mr. Jenkins stood looking us up and down. “What do you …”
One jab to his nose, he cried out in pain.
That was when the Ravage MC taught Mr. Jenkins a lesson about touching things he shouldn’t.

“Happy Birthday!” everyone in the clubhouse yelled as I entered with Crow at my back. By everyone, I mean the Rebellion and Sumner Ravage MC were all there to celebrate.
Smiling from ear to ear, I dished out hugs to everyone as I made my way to the tables and having a seat.
“Since you’re still not old enough to drink, I’ll take this,” Nox said, grabbing the shot someone put in front of me and tossing it back.
“Ha, ha. Can’t have it anyway because of the meds.” Really, that wasn’t the entire truth. I could drink small amounts, but I wasn’t taking the chance of mixing something I shouldn’t. One near death experience was enough for me for a lifetime.
“Don’t be jealous.”
I wasn’t, not at all.
My father came up to the table. “Give me a minute,” he ordered to Nox and Crow.
“That ordering shit needs to go.”
My father glared at Crow. “Go.”
Crow laughed, kissed the top of my head, and took off dragging Nox with him.
My father took a seat and slid a package wrapped in brown paper across the table. I could feel my heart thump and pump. “Really.”
He just nodded to the gift. I ripped it open, and my tears were hard to hold back. A puzzle. “Daddy.”
“Every year, my girl.”
“Love you.”
He lifted me up with ease and wrapped himself around me. “He hurts you, I’ll still kill ‘em.”
To this, I laughed.
Crow lifted me from the recliner in the media room at the clubhouse, then sat with me on him. I snuggled into his heat. “Best birthday ever,” I murmured into his shirt.
He pulled out my left hand and slipped something cold on it. When I looked everything froze. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t talk. I couldn’t see clearly because the rock sitting at the base of my finger was huge. Emerald style with two smaller diamonds on the side.
“Be my girl forever.”
“Absolutely.” I leaned down and kissed my man. Only then did we get alone time in his room, and it was phenomenal.
I was his, he was mine. I had found my home in a biker named Crow.
I was Ravage Rebellion, now and forever.
