But it has to start with me being willing to ease my foot off the gas and work on being the best possible, happiest, THRIVING version of myself. Otherwise I could get caught up in pointless competition with others, or more likely – myself, and miss the whole point of being alive. To have some fun in community with others and be of service where I can while writing about Elves and Witches and Trolls. Suddenly, I am looking forward to what this year has to offer even more… More adventures to follow.

In the last book (Combatant), I spoke about my first series coming in the Oriceran Universe, and I can share with you a bit as it is due out in the next few weeks.
I jump ahead about twenty (20) years into the future from these stories, and we follow a Bounty Hunter as he works to keep his area of Earth (Los Angeles) clean of hoodlums that are using the integration of Earth and Oriceran with magic and technology as a way to push their criminal ways.
The Police have chosen to offer bounties for different levels of criminals, and our protagonist James Brownstone has been doing this for a while.
So, we don’t learn how he became unbelievable. The story we step into isn’t truly about his abilities, but about his relationships.
What we find out is he is a guy that does his job, goes home, watches HGTV shows (predominately about BarBQ) and looks into the next bounty.
You know, someone who needs a female…or two… to shake up his existence.
Enter Allison and Shay.
One is a teen that has had her mother kidnapped, the other is a person leaving her past behind, and working to become a well know tomb raider for Oriceran artifacts.
James Brownstone’s future just became complicated, and he will (eventually) understand why relationships are a good thing.
Eventually.
If you are looking for something to read and haven’t read The Leira Chronicles by Martha Carr and myself, you can ALWAYS give that a try.

Just be warned, anything with Martha or myself should have a warning sticker with the label “Excessive Snark” right on the cover.
