I couldn’t help but groan. “Now I’m never going to be able to use a public bathroom again.”

“You don’t leave the house often,” Jessica pointed out. “So as long as you change your soap dispenser at home and flush the toilet with the lid down, you should be good. Most people don’t know you’re supposed to close the lid before flushing to help decrease the spread of fecal matter.”

“This is the worst conversation I’ve ever had. So help me, I don’t ever want to have it again.”

Jessica smiled down at me. “But you’re not having an attack.”

She was right. Her fucked up conversation had made me forget about my face-planting it in front of the paparazzi.

  “Thank you.”

Jessica stepped into a stall, but when she came back out, she pulled her own soap and towels from her purse. “I’m always prepared. Some might think my knowledge for numbers and facts are strange, but I’m not walking around with poo on my hands… Well, most of the time. My little angel sure can make a mess in his diapers.”

Someone banged on the door. We’d taken up the women's bathroom long enough. I picked myself up off the floor and glanced in the mirror. My makeup wasn’t too bad. Daisy had told me she used waterproof mascara because she thought I might cry at the wedding. I did, but not for the reason she’d expected.

Jessica opened the door, and Abe pushed his way in. When Jessica walked out, he locked the door again.

“This is the women’s room, Abe. We need to leave, someone might have to go.”

His eyes dragged up and down my body. “Are you all right?”

“Yes, but I think we should leave the bathroom. Someone might need it.”

Abe ignored my second plea to get him out of the women’s room. After two long strides across the small room, he swung me into his arms and put me on the counter.

“Let me see.” His voice was gruff. He grabbed a towel and wet it.

When he reached for the soap, I yelled, “Don’t use that.”

  “Are you allergic to soap?”

“Jessica explained a few things about bathroom soap, and I don’t think I can ever use the stuff again. So please don’t put that on me.”

He dabbed my knee with the wet paper towel and shook his head. “Don’t ever let her talk about food statistics. You will never be able to eat chocolate again, and it took me a few months before I could go to a restaurant. Brock really needs to control the data she reads.”

“We all have our quirks.” At least hers was only telling facts about things that most people didn’t want to hear. Mine was having an attack at the smallest little thing.

“Did those men out there hurt you anywhere else? When I saw Brock running, my heart almost shot out of my chest.” He ran his calloused hand along my knee, feeling for bumps.

The gentle touch of his hand on my leg sent shivers down my spine. With each circle of his thumb over my skin, my body melted.

“I’m more embarrassed than anything. They have pictures of when my heel caught, and I fell. That means there might be a chance my ass makes it on the internet.”

Abe covered his mouth for a second, hiding his smile. “I’m sure they won’t post the pictures. Brock was talking to them when I walked away.” Abe’s hand traveled farther up my thigh. “Are you wearing the same white lace panties you had on earlier?” His fingers traced the hem of my dress, making it hard to concentrate on his words.

When I didn’t answer right away, he nipped my ear, causing my body to lean in more. He was so close I could smell his aftershave and it was intoxicating.

“No, they're light pink,” I whispered.

His hand made its way up my thigh, moving my pink dress higher. He pressed his lips to mine and traced them with his tongue. “Let me in, Addie,” he whispered the words against my mouth.

The world floated away around me. I’d only had one glass of wine before heading to the bathroom, and I felt tipsy and out of control in Abe’s arms. Before Abe, this feeling would send me in to a panic attack. Now I felt safe, like I could take on the world.

He deepened the kiss and surged in. His actions commanded me and played my body like a fine violin. His left hand tightened in my hair and angled me the way he wanted. His right hand played with the hem of my dress until I could feel the brush of his hand on the top of my thigh. Abe’s touch was sending me into sensory overload.

This wasn’t a kiss of a regular man. Abe was pure alpha and passionate. In the back of my mind, I knew we were still in the bathroom, but I didn’t care. When he pulled back and broke the kiss, we were both panting.

Abe traced his thumb over my panty line. “I can’t wait to peel these off you later.”

Abe helped me get down from the sink and grabbed my hand to lead me out of the restroom. I was happy when we opened the door and nobody was waiting. We’d been in there awhile, and I didn’t want any knowing looks when we walked out. But instead of going right to the ballroom, Abe pulled me left.

“I can’t leave yet.” I was shocked I’d said the words. Earlier in the day, I’d thought I wouldn’t even make it to the reception.

“We're not leaving.” He opened a side door that led to a balcony off the ballroom. I could hear the music playing and laughter inside. On the table were a couple plates and cake. A bottle of white wine was on ice.

  “Abe, this is someone’s area.”

He smiled at me. “Ours. Now, are you going to dance with me, or do you want to go?”

I wrapped my arms around his neck, and he moved me around the balcony to the beat of the music. His hips swayed with each beat. The dance felt more intimate than the passionate kiss we had earlier. His right hand rested on my ass as he used his body to move me around.

I couldn’t wait to get Addie out of the low-cut dress. It had taken everything in me not to fuck her in the bathroom. My control was only hanging on by a thread. When her body glided against mine to the sway of the music, I almost dragged her up to my place.

Addie’s eyes caught mine as I closed the door to the apartment. “I guess I will see you in the morning.”

“Is that what you want, Addie?” I stalked over to her. “Because I want you spread across my bed, screaming my name.”

  “But you’re my brother’s friend.”

I shook my head. “This has nothing to do with your brother. We’re both adults, and I want you, Addie, and earlier, when I ran my hands across your thigh, your nipples puckered beneath your dress. I know you want me too.”

Her cheeks turned rosy red. “I’m not good at stuff like this.”

“Is that what someone told you?”

Addie bit her lip and nodded, and that action alone almost made me come. She was so innocent. “My ex told me I was frigid.”

“Then your ex can go fuck himself.”

She smiled up at me. “But I don’t know the rules.”

  “There are no rules.”

“Daisy and Kat were talking about the lifestyle, and I don’t really know anything about it.”

“Good.” I ran my thumb over her lower lip. “If that is something you want to explore, we can do that together.” Something about Addie made me want to throw my one-night-only rule out the window. She was like forbidden fruit I couldn’t get enough of.

“It doesn’t bother you I’m inexperienced?”

“No,” I growled against her lips and pulled her in tighter. She shuddered against me. The little moans escaping her lips were turning me on even more. When she parted her lips, I deepened the kiss as I ran my hand along her jaw.

I didn’t have to tug her closer with each pass of our tongues as she sank deeper into my touch. When I pulled back, our gazes met, and we both worked to catch our breath.

“I know I should stop this because I’m going to fall down some rabbit hole and get hurt.”

“I like kissing you. We fit together, and I want more. Let’s take one night for us, no promises.” Something flashed across h
er face. I knew I’d said the wrong thing, but I couldn’t take it back. I didn’t know what tomorrow would bring, and I didn’t want to give her a false hope of what was happening even if my gut was telling me one night wouldn’t be enough.

“Okay, one night. But promise this won’t change anything between you and John.”

I looked for any hint in her eyes that she didn’t want me, and there was none. “This is only you and me.” I leaned forward to kiss her again. She tasted like cherry lip balm and a hint of chocolate cake.

No matter what, I was going to make this work. “I want you so bad,” I whispered.

“Me too,” she let out a sigh. “But I’m scared.”

I rested my forehead against hers and tucked a blond lock behind her ear. “Do you trust me?”

She nodded. I bent down and threw her over my shoulder. Addie let out a yelp and laughed. When I swatted her ass, she laughed harder. I carried her down the hall and kicked the door to my bedroom open. There was no going back. She would be mine.

“If you want to stop at any time, tell me,” I whispered across her skin as I placed kisses on her neck.

  “Don’t stop.”

I couldn’t remember the last time a woman had turned me on as much as Addie did. She also brought out my protective side. I wanted to hide her from the world. “Turn around.”

When her back was to me, I moved her blond locks to the side so I could work the zipper of her dress down. The image from the morning, when she had on her bra and panties, was still at the forefront. Even a cold shower hadn’t helped the erection I got from seeing her almost naked.

The pink dress pooled around Addie’s feet. “Let me see you.”

She was even more beautiful than I remembered. Her eyes searched mine. She looked worried. I pulled her against my body, and my erection brushed against her. “You’re sexy as hell.”

Addie ground her body against me. I rested my hands on her hips, stopping the movement. “You keep doing that I’m not going to take long.”

My hands went to the back of her bra and unclasped it. I wanted her naked and on the bed.

“Lay on the bed.” The moonlight filtered in from the window giving me a perfect view on how gorgeous she was. “Hold on to the headboard.”

With each command, I noticed her breath quickened. I climbed next to her and circled my finger around her nipple. “You like that?”

  “I want...I need more.”

“Anything for you, Addie, but at any time, all you have to say is stop.”

She rolled her pretty blue eyes. “I’m going to climb you like a tree so—”

I pinched her nipple, and she gasped. “I’m the one in charge. Are your pretty pink panties getting wet?” I asked as I captured her nipple between my teeth.

“Yes.” She arched her body off the bed. “I want more.”

She squirmed under my touch as I kissed my way down her stomach and traced the top of her panties with my tongue.

“Abe,” she groaned as I worked her panties down her legs.

  “What do you want, Addie?”

“I want your lips on me.”

I met her gaze and placed a kiss to the inside of her leg. “Here?”

She let out a frustrated sigh, and I moved up higher.

“Or here?” I placed another kiss.

  “Abe, please kiss me there.”

My lips smiled across her skin. “I don’t know what there is, Addie.” I placed a kiss below her ear. “Is this there?”

  “No lower,” she moaned.

I ran my fingers through her folds, and she arched her back. “So wet for me.”

“I’ve never felt like this before.”

I dipped my finger inside her. “Even when you play with yourself?”

She clamped down around my fingers, keeping me in. I’d never wanted to sleep with someone as bad as I wanted her. The foreplay was driving me crazy. My cock ached to be released from my dress pants. I plunged my tongue into her mouth and ran circles around her hard nub.

Her body shook as she came and rode my fingers until her body sagged against the bed.

“You are so sexy when you come.”

  She opened her hooded eyes.

“Are you ready for me, Addie?”

  “Yes.”

I didn’t want to wait any longer. Addie stared up at me as I climbed off the bed. Her lip pouted but quickly turned into a smile as I stripped my clothes.

  “Like what you see?”

“You sure do have an ego,” she smiled.

I reached in the top drawer of the nightstand and pulled out a condom.

Addie grabbed it from my hands. “Can I put it on?”

When I nodded, she tore the wrapper open and placed the condom on my cock. Her soft hands ran over my shaft a couple times. My eyes rolled back into my head. I had to count so I didn’t come too early. I wanted to be inside her.

  “Enough,” I rasped.

  “Was I doing it wrong?”

She was coy. My mouth wrapped around her nipple, and she arched off the bed. Before letting go, I bit down, and she let out a sigh.

“Look at me,” I growled. “I want your eyes on me as I sink into you.”

Addie wrapped her legs around my back. Then she reached between us and gripped my member, lining it up with her velvety folds.

“Damn.” I bit the inside of my cheeks. “Fuck, you're so tight. I’m not hurting you, am I?”

“No, it feels good.” She used her heels to push me deeper.

“I need a second.” I didn’t want to come like a teenage boy his first time.

I pulled all the way out and went back in. I looped her leg around my arm to get deeper as she matched each of my thrusts with her hips rising off the mattress. When I reached between us and pressed my thumb over her clit, she screamed my name. I didn’t let up. My finger circled the nub, and I could feel her body tense under me. Her fingers dragged down my back until they reached my ass, and she held me tight. I cupped her breast with my other hand. As she gripped me with each thrust, I could feel myself getting closer. When she reached between us and rubbed her own clit and orgasmed, it was enough to take me over the edge.

I rolled to the side, sweaty and breathing hard. That was the best sex of my life. I slowly climbed off the bed and went to the bathroom to dispose of the condom. When I climbed back into bed, she curled herself around me. I traced my finger down her collarbone, and she let out a sigh.

“You liked it when I bit your nipple.”

She tried to duck her head.

“It turned me on to see you squirm when I did it.”

“I liked it.” She placed a kiss on my lips. “I like everything we did.”

Like was an understatement. Sex with Addie was unlike anything I’d felt before. And I didn’t know if I was ready to figure out what it meant.

  ADDIE

T he sound of my alarm clock brought me out of my deep sleep. The morning sun peeked through the window. Around midnight, I’d curled myself around his body and gone to sleep. Now his side of the bed was empty, and I needed to go home.

I’d thought the idea of going home would make me happy, but instead, I wanted to spend more time with Abe. Even if our relationship might not work, it was the first time in years that I felt like I wasn’t just passing the time. The world went on around me, people getting married, having kids, but I was about to go back to just living in my house and not leaving. If I continued down this path, I would miss another high school reunion, maybe even time with my niece or nephew. That’s if John and Annabella had kids. The only person who could make the changes were me. There were self-help groups online, and tons of literature. Even my therapist recommended things. I chose to ignore the help, it was easier to stay home, but now I was wondering if it was worth it to be locked away, not experiencing my life to the fullest.

I took a deep breath, loving the smell on his pillow. It smelled like pine and sex. The morning would be better if the man
I was starting to have feelings for was still sleeping next to me. My hand spread across the white sheet. The sheet was cold, not even a hint of heat. Realizing I was making a bigger deal out of the night before, I swung my legs over the edge.

My pink dress lay on the floor. I wasn’t even sure where my bra and panties were. On the chair next to the bed was a white T-shirt. I threw it on and couldn’t help but inhale the scent of Abe. Needing to pack, I grabbed the dress off the floor and headed to the spare bedroom.

“Hey, Addie.” Abe walked up and wrapped his arms around my waist. “I was working on breakfast.”

I twisted in his arms, and he placed a kiss on my lips. “I was packing so I wouldn’t miss my flight.”

“Let’s go have some breakfast and talk about today.” Abe was watching my every move. His blond hair was wet from the shower.

“I don’t want to be late.”

“You can’t be late when Blackwood owns the plane, but let’s go have breakfast and talk.” Abe turned and walked out of the bedroom.

I didn’t want to eat with my ass hanging out, so I slipped into a pair of shorts. Before leaving the bedroom, I ran into the spare bath and brushed my teeth.

Did Abe not want me to go? I did not know if he would even consider a long-distance relationship. I needed to stop that train of thought. It wouldn’t be fair to ask him to date someone who wouldn’t leave their state. He would have to come to see me all the time.

“You coming?” Abe shouted from the other room.

“Yes,” I yelled back, taking one last look in the mirror.

When I walked out into the main area, my breath caught as I saw Abe at the stove, flipping French toast. All he wore were a pair of athletic shorts that rested on his hipbone. His back flexed as he flipped the French toast. “I have coffee ready in the pot. It’s a vanilla roast I get when I’m in South America. There’s milk or cream in the fridge.”
