  The Ghosts I See

I’m not weird I promise, but damn if everyone around me doesn’t think so. When people hear voices all of a sudden they are odd, have a screw loose, or need to be in a mental institution. Trust me, I am very much so sane. It’s just that...well, this face, a beautiful women, comes to me on my TV. And I know what your thinking, don’t judge me so fast. She’s real and only I can see her. But then again I see a whole lot more than just that. Ever since I was little, I have been able to talk to ghost, and see spirits. It’s a curse and a blessing. My grandfather could do it too. It’s kind of our job. We are in direct connection to the spirit world. They choose a family to help them, and it just so happens to be mine. There is a spirit selected to be our guides, and they then send us messages so that we can prevent leaks. Leaks are when spirits sometimes, even demons enter our realm. It’s my job to put them back. We aren’t here to hurt them, just help them. Most of them are confused and scared. It’s kinda pathetic. When my grandfather Lavelle Martin, was younger he would talk to them through the radio. It’s easier for them to communicate with us through technology. So she comes to me through my television, sometimes she comes to me on my computer. Now I know what you’re thinking, this is a severe stretch of the imagination, but just wait. I’ll prove to you that it’s real. “Jackson...Jackson” A soft sultry voice called out my name. I lay in my bed barley aware that my name is being called.

  “Jackson...Jackson” The voice said again.
“JACKSON! WAKE UP YOU IDOIT” The voice now much deeper, I am startled and I jump out of my bed.
“I’m sorry, but I was trying to be nice this time.” Says the voice. “Ugh...do you have to talk to me through my alarm clock.” I said. With a smacking sound I slammed my hand, on the alarm clock shutting it off. The TV pops on.
“Well, like I said, I was trying to be nicer about it. Turning on the TV might have been too alarming. “ Says the voice. The TV now shows the appearance of a very beautiful woman. Her eyes peer at me through the screen. I’d be attracted to her if she wasn’t a Ghost, and if she wasn’t so rude. Her name is Callie. She’s my spirit guide. She’s a little rude, because she was murdered when she was alive. I don’t really blame her for that.
“We have a leak Jackson.” Says Callie. “It is a Ramino. It just phased

into the downtown district.” Ramino’s are big and dumb creatures that are formed when people die greedy. Leaving their last wants unfulfilled. They seek out money even though they can’t spend it or clothes even though they can’t wear them. They are gross creatures. “Ugh... What time is it?” I asked as I wiped sleep out of my eyes.
“Time to work.” She replied. “Now get up, I’ll take you there myself. “ Callie can take me temporarily into the spirit world, through the TV, or computer. Really anything that can give you a reflection. I grab two rings off of my desk, and I slip one on my ring finger on each hand. The rings are golden and posses Roman numeral engravings on the outside of them. I put my hand on the TV and Callie places her hand on mine from her side. Her hand melds through to my side, and she grabs my wrist. I am then turned into a ghost and moved through the spirit world to another reflective source, near the scene of the Ramino. Problem is, Callie likes to throw me anywhere near and I mean anywhere. This time I fall out of a mirror in the bathroom of a small apartment. A girl is in the shower. Obviously this is a problem. With a loud scream she falls down in the shower. She’s pretty hot. But I got a mission and I don’t think I can hit on her given the situation.

I scramble to my feet. “Sorry” I say, and I rush out of the bathroom, and head for her window. On the window, Callie’s face appears. “Jackson!” she says.
“Ahh! What the... why would you do that. You know I hate that.” I responded.

“It’s right below you” she said. These things are invisible to normal people, but even without her telling me I would notice this ugly bugger. I leap out of the 4-story building and I slam my open palms together. As the rings slam into each other I shout. “Numeral one...Holy Gauntlets.” My hands glow bright red. And I land on top of the Ramino. Obviously that looks like I’m flying to people, but hey. I slam both hands onto its head and yell, “Field of light. Gate of the spirit realm, return this lost soul to it’s rightful place.” And with a flash he was gone. I landed in the street next to a clothing store window. Callie appears to me.
“Jackson.” Says Callie.
My heart jumps out of my chest.
“Yes Callie.” I replied.
“Good job idiot.” She says.
See I told you I wasn’t lying. I see ghost, and I’m not Hayley Joel Osmit. This is my job as... “The Spirit Guardian.”
