Pauper's Desire

"This is different," Janice bellowed. "You don't have to remind me of my past. I know where I came from and that doesn't change anything. I was in love with my husband. This boy is manipulating and using charms on my son. Either way, I didn't come into your son's life when he had someone because I was not a whore like him."

"I'm really disappointed," Caroline muttered, diverting her eyes at her sister. "My sister, who used to care for others, is now..."

"Oh please, don't even go there," Janice snapped. "I did what every mother could have done."

"Please," Caleb sobbed. "Please, stop arguing. Just let it go. I don't have any problem with it so please, let it go,"

Preston' heart broke, seeing Caleb tightly holding his shirt, sobbing. It was obvious he was hurt. Preston needed to get him out of there before things got...messy. He didn't want Caleb to suffer more. Caleb had suffered most of his life and Preston didn't want to add more.

"Did you hear that," Granny said softly. "That's a good son in law. You'll never find anyone as good as that. Even though you did something bad tonight, he's still concerned about the peace of this family."

Victoria didn't need to hear anymore. She had enough for the night. She was even wondering how her plans had failed. She had a great plan to make William dance with Preston while she called Caleb to see. That would have broken his heart. It was now like things were backfiring.

"You know what," Janice said, slowly picking William up. "I have had it. This conversation is over."

Victoria angrily took William up the stairs while the rest of the family members watched. It was really a bad moment for all of them. They loved Caleb and they knew that he had been hurt by what Janice had done at the party.

Granny came near Caleb and took him in her arms. He had tears in his eyes but they were not coming out. She was hurting for the boy. He was too nice to receive that kind of treatment from his mother in law. Nothing was as painful as being rejected.

"I'm really sorry, son." Granny apologized. "I'm sorry you got to hear that."

"Don't worry about it," Caleb tried to put a smile. "I'm fine. I'm not hurt in anyway. I'm just sad that Preston got to argue with his mother because of me. I don't even know how mother feels right now. It was just a small issue and it didn't..."

"That wasn't a small issue," Johnny said softly. "Mom knew that Preston is married and yet she wanted him to dance and romance with William in front of the crowd. That would've surely been a scandal and it would have hurt you more. I think mother just overreacted."

  "I understand," Caleb muttered.

There was silence in the room. No one was able to utter a word. Caleb just thanked God that Gabriel was asleep. It wouldn't have been good seeing that drama especially since he is just a little child.

"Preston," George said softly, touching his shoulder. "I think you should take Caleb back to the room."

"Yeah," Johnny mumbled. "Take him to the room. You two need to rest."

Preston nodded. He slowly moved towards Caleb and wrapped his arms around him. When he stared at the boy, he smiled. Preston tried to smile back but he couldn't do it. His heart was hurting deeply. He loved his mother a lot. Seeing that she was the only one who didn't like Caleb was painful enough.

Preston slowly took Caleb upstairs. When they reached there he was in deep pain. He just needed to tell his baby to let it go and cry it out. He didn't like seeing him all strong because deep down, Preston knew that Caleb was hurt.

Preston made Caleb sit on the bed. He sat at the edge and stared at him with a heavy heart. He wanted to apologize. He wanted to kiss away the pain and he wanted to tell the boy not to worry. He had experienced a lot of problems to be experiencing others even after marriage.

"Let it out," Preston mumbled, staring deep into Caleb's eyes. "I'm ready. Just let it out."

"What?" Caleb mumbled, feeling a sharp pain.

"I know you are deeply hurt," Preston' eyes became glassy with tears. "Just let it out."

"No," Caleb muttered and bring his hands forth to rub the tear which ran down Preston' cheek. "I'm not hurt at all. I just didn't like you arguing with her. No matter what she did she's still your mother."

"I know," Preston said softly. "But what she did could have been a big scandal. I didn't want her to hurt you in any way."

"But I'm fine," Caleb sighed. "I'm sure she's feeling really bad. You should have just let it go."

Preston stared in Caleb's eyes as he felt his eyes water. He sure had not made a mistake marrying Caleb. He was a really good boy.

"Why are you so nice?" Preston said softly. "Why do you have a heart like that?"

"It's just me," Caleb smiled. "This is the way I was born. I guess you can call it my gift."

"I love you a lot," Preston said softly. "I don't want to see you get hurt. I won't have anyone hurt you. Not while I'm around. Even my mother..." Preston said softly, feeling a deep pain in his throat. "...I can't believe she did this."

  "Are you okay?"

"To be honest, I'm not," Preston muttered.

Preston wanted to feel Caleb's embrace. He needed his tight embrace but he knew what was even better than a tight embrace and he was gonna ask for it.

"Can I lie on...on your lap?" Preston gulped as a sharp pain hit. "Please,"

Caleb couldn't deny the poor guy that. He needed to show him that he cared for him and his feelings.

"Yes," Caleb said softly as he moved further into the bed.

Preston followed Caleb on the bed, watched him balance his body with pillows and sat with straight legs on the bed. That was his hint. He went closer and slowly laid his head on Caleb's lap. Feeling the haven of Caleb's lap, he felt his warm hands cupping his head slowly kneading his hair. It felt so good and he needed to appreciate it.

"Thanks, my love." Preston mumbled. "This feels like heaven to me."

"You don't have to thank me." Caleb said softly. "It is my duty to make my husband feel okay. I just hope this issue gets resolved soon."

"Mm-hmm," Preston said softly with a grumble.

Caleb could clearly see that Preston was deeply hurt. He was really hurt. Even though Janice was like that to him, Caleb could clearly see that Preston really loved her a lot. It was also his duty to bring peace to the family but his mother in law was never gonna allow that. She had a task to make him feel bad.

While she did, Caleb didn't want Preston to be hurting like that. He needed to somehow make Preston apologize to his mother. He couldn't just sit there and watch mother and son fighting, worse, fighting because of him. He couldn't allow it. He needed to make the two of them reconcile.

He promised to make them does that when Preston was in the right mood? He needed to make his husband feel better.

Preston was slowly slipping from the real world. Those fingers were doing wonders on his head. He found himself dozing off. The pain was still there but it was slowly going away as Caleb's fingers kneaded more and more into his hair. It was simply wonderful and amazing. His eyes were getting heavier, his smile brighter and he was quickly losing his consciousness.

  Just like that he slept.

Caleb smiled when he looked at Preston and saw him sleeping on his lap. The day had turned from good to bad and suddenly to best as Preston lay there. Caleb wanted to move him under the covers but he didn't want to wake the handsome hunk sleeping on his lap. It was really beautiful and sexy.

Preston was handsome in his sleep. Caleb couldn't tear away from his face. He knew he had to move him under the covers but not yet. He was really so cute.

Caleb slowly leaned his head down and planted a kiss on Preston' forehead. It was really wonderful seeing him in that position.

  "Goodnight, Papi," He whispered.

  ****

Caleb was in the kitchen preparing breakfast for everyone. It was just simple toasted bread, jam, a hamburger and bacon plus coffee, tea and juice. He couldn't help but get worried about his husband though. He couldn't bear to see him in pain. He just couldn't and t
hat was why Caleb was gonna talk to Preston after he comes back from work in the afternoon. Let there be peace in the house.

Caleb was almost done when all of a sudden the door to the kitchen opened and in came his mother in law. It was too early for her to come out of bed. Caleb knew she usually wakes up at 8 but it was past 7.30 anyway.

He stared at her, scared of what she might do to him. He didn't care what but his husband was hurting. Caleb knew she didn't like him,

"Good morning, mother!" Caleb said softly.

Victoria stared at the boy who was greeting her and her face frowned. She didn't like any of those greetings. She had only come to the kitchen to have some water but since she had seen him in the kitchen, might as well tell him her own piece of the mind.

"What's good about this morning?" Janice asked in a low hoarse voice.

  "I'm sorry, mother. I thought..."

"You thought what?" She literally yelled.

The last thing she needed was waking up her son. She didn't want to argue with him anymore. Of course, she had thought of apologizing but never will she accept Caleb.

"I hope you're happy," Janice said softly, furious. "I really hope you are happy. You got what you wanted. My son shouted at me for the first time and it was all because of you. You really are shameless. I don't know what you want from my son."

Caleb knew better than to say something that would upset her. He was feeling bad and wanted to yell at her that it was all her fault but he knew he could do something better than that. He couldn't just stand up to her. She was his mother in law. He just has to make her understand.

"I'm really sorry, mother." Caleb said softly, bowing his head. "You've got me on the wrong. I didn't say anything to Preston. I didn't even like seeing you argue. I begged Preston..." Caleb paused to look into the furious eyes of his mother in law. "...trust me. The last thing I want..."

"Spare me that," Janice said literally warning him. "You know I don't like you. But still my son had to marry you. If I had my way, you'd be out of this house for good."

Caleb trembled. That was one woman he didn't want to mess with. He knew he somehow couldn't just sit and watch the whole drama as they did everything to hurt him. He had to stand up for himself or he'd be in the streets for sure.

"I don't know what I'll do to make you like me." Caleb said softly. "I have done everything to show you that I'm really the right guy for your son."

"Leave this house," Janice said, her voice rising in anger. "Leave this house and I'll show you my love."

Caleb closed his eyes and gave a loud, deep sigh. What she was asking was impossible. He was married and no matter what, he'd be by Preston' side even in death.

"I'm really sorry," Caleb muttered. "I can't do that. I really love Preston and I can't abandon him."

Victoria chuckled softly. "Then get ready to feel my hatred. Either way, I'll have you out of this house in no time. You'll experience nothing but hatred as long as you live in this house. No matter what you do I'll always be there. And this is my promise to you," Janice snapped her fingers in the air. "I'll soon reconcile with my son. I'll show you that he loves his mother and nothing can separate us."

Caleb was quiet, even while she took the water and left after staring at him as if he were a disgusting thing. He was really hurt but he had to focus. He took a deep sigh and served the table for breakfast. By the time he was done, everyone was already at the table. Well, everybody except for Janice and William.

Caleb could see that Preston was still very much affected by what had happened. He had his hand on Caleb the whole breakfast time and smiled at him but that smile was not genuine. Something was really bothering him and Caleb knew of only one solution.

He was gonna talk to Preston once he comes back in the afternoon to try and reconcile with his mother. They couldn't stay like that. Sure, she hated Caleb and wanted him out of the house but Caleb was gonna make them reconcile anyway.

After breakfast, Preston went to the office after planting deep, erotic, romantic kisses almost everywhere. It was really fun and Caleb knew he was gonna miss him the rest of the day.

He waved at the car as it left and sent kisses flying in the air.

  ***

Preston had his hands on his head. He couldn't concentrate on anything that he was doing. It was afternoon and he had tried everything to forget about what had happened but he couldn't. He was not even sure Caleb was completely safe in that house. If only he could make his mother understand.

"So what are you going to do about it?" George asked, concerned for his lost friend.

  "I don't know," Preston muttered.

He really didn't know. He really loved Caleb big time and his mother was kinda trying to ruin that relationship for him, a relationship which he had struggled to build. He didn't like Caleb being hurt especially after just being saved from his evil uncle and that family of his.

"I understand what you are going through," George sighed. "I really do. Having the boy you love being treated like that by your mother is bad especially after a few months of marriage."

"Yeah," Preston said. "I love Caleb a lot and I don't want anybody to hurt him. Hurting him is like hurting me too. My mother should have thought of that before trying to do that."

"Yeah," George sighed. "What's up with William anyway?" George shouted. He felt disgusted. "I really don't like that guy. He's a big problem. Isn't it enough that he's staying in the same house as you?"

Preston just raised his hand in approval. He had no words to say about William. His mother had disappointed him big time. He never thought she'd play cheaply like that not minding how important that occasion had been.

"And Caleb," George asked. "What did he say?"

"Oh!" Preston exclaimed as he remembered about Caleb.

His face brightened up, his heart beat faster and his mood brightened up. The pain slowly started going away. He was smiling really brightly.

"He's a saint," Preston chuckled, slowly rubbing his hands together. "I have never seen anyone like him."

"Mm-hmm," George teased, pointing his finger sweetly at Preston. "I can see he's making you happy. You're blushing. You're really blushing."

Preston chuckled softly. All the pain had suddenly gone away replaced by immense joy and happiness. He didn't know how to express them. His heart was beating faster and he suddenly missed Caleb big time. He wanted him. He needed him in that office. On that chair, sitting on his lap while he rammed his cock deeper into him, screaming his name and...

  "Hello!" George snapped his finger.

"Uh," Preston gasped as he was brought back to the real world.

He realized that his cock was throbbing in his pants. It was throbbing painfully, desiring Caleb with each passing moment. He realized that he didn't need to focus on his troubles anymore.

So what if she didn't accept him? What matters in the end is that Preston is crazy about that boy. He just can't get enough of him. He was missing him. He was missing him so bad.

"I can see someone's mood has brightened," George gave out a teasing laugh.

"I just realized I don't have to focus on my problems," Preston gushed, chuckling. "What matters most is that I love him and he loves me too. Most of my family members are crazy about him and..."

"I'm crazy about him," George said softly.

"What?" Preston yelled, eyeing George dangerously.

George stared at Preston and raised his hands as if he was surrendering.

"Don't get me wrong, man." George chuckled. "He's yours. I'd never touch him. What I meant is that he's really nice and..."

"I get you." Preston smiled brightly. "If only you could feel what I feel when he's around me." Preston said as he began day dreaming. "It's like we've got a strong connection and there's this...this...I don't even know the word to use." Preston chirped, his heart pounding deeper in his chest. "Man, Caleb is the best guy on earth."

George chuckled nervously. His friend was in love and he couldn't have loved it any
more. Seeing him happy and talking about love made George warm. If only he could find someone to love just like Caleb. But where was that guy...where...where?

"It feels so good seeing you like that," George smiled. "But I'm starving. We need to grab lunch somewhere and then we can continue our conversation and..."

Before he could finish, there was a low knock on the door. They both stared at the door,

  "Come in," Preston hollered.

Then a guard came inside, a guard from Preston' house. He had a big basket with him and Preston wondered what was in there. He was really hoping it was food because he was starving. From the looks of things, George was starving as well. It was only a matter of time before both of them died of hunger.
