"They can rest now as well," replied Dion. "No need to rush the evacuation now."

"Grak!" came a raven's call from behind them.

"Boys!" they heard immediately after the croak.

That effervescent shout of an old man was louder than the voices of many who were clamoring all around them and both Dion and Kerkio recognized the voice.

Daedar ran behind his call through the remaining rubble in the gates to meet them.

"My boys!" he shouted once more and ran between them with open arms, grabbing each one around the shoulders and pulling them close to his chest.

His watery eyes shined like gemstones, but even their glint was overshadowed by the light of his smile.

"My boys," he repeated softly and finally released them from his grip.

"Did you find them?" was the first thing he asked Dion.

"Yes, I think I did. I think it's them," he replied, knowing that it was not the legion that Daedar was asking about.

"We spoke to Vedientir..." he tried to continue but Daedar interrupted him almost instantly.

"What did he say? Will they help?"

  Daedar's old heart raced.

"They have already helped, and they can probably help no more. It is Vedientir who sent me back to you. He said that you should have the answers."

  "I was afraid of that."
