Mommy's Landlord Page 7

The blood rushes from my mom’s face, leaving her pale and ghostly-looking. She drops bonelessly onto the couch, and it looks like she’s having trouble breathing.

“It’s fine, Mom,” I say, running over to pat her shoulder. “It’s not anything dangerous or criminal. I mean, it is a little bit freaky, but it’s not crazy or anything like that. I just dress up, and then Xavier and I play together as a daddy and a little girl. It’s harmless, don’t you see? He doesn’t beat me with belts and whips or anything of that sort.”

My mom doesn’t reply because it looks like she’s still having trouble breathing. Her face is now totally white and she raises one hand to her chest, while wheezing sounds come out of her throat.

“Are you okay, Mom?” I ask with sudden fear. “Oh my gosh, Mom, Mom! Are you okay?”

With that, my mother keels over while clutching her chest, collapsing into a heap on the floor. I’m on my knees beside her in an instant with panic rising in my chest. Oh my god, did my mom just have a heart attack because of my dirty relationship with Xavier Carlton? Is she going to die? Suddenly, I know I’ll never forgive myself if my mom passes away because of me.

Dinah stirs in the hospital bed, and I’m at her side in an instant. I’ve changed out of the ridiculous Rainbow Brite outfit, and am wearing jeans and a gray t-shirt now. But it hardly matters. My mom looks waxen and pale, and the beeps from the machine measuring her pulse seem weak and oddly erratic.

“Mom,” I cry while seizing her hands. “I’m so sorry. I swear, I’ll break off this relationship with Xavier Carlton. I didn’t mean to shock you like that, and I’ll cut it off, I swear. You can come live with me, Mom. I didn’t want you to because my apartment is so small, and I was afraid we’d drive each other crazy if we were squashed together like that. But it doesn’t matter anymore. You can give up your apartment, and we’ll figure it out, okay? I’m sorry, Mom. I’m really sorry,” I cry out as tears spill from my eyes.

My mom hacks and coughs a little bit. She looks pale and waxen and I sob a little more before jumping to action.

“Here, have some water,” I say while pouring from a pitcher by her bed. I hand her the cup, and she takes it with a trembling hand.

“Here, use a straw,” I say, reaching for a white and red striped straw lying on her tray. “It’ll make things easier, seeing that you’re so weak.”

My mom sips gratefully, without saying anything. After what feels like a few minutes, she puts the cup back down and takes my hand.

I sob again, wailing my distress.

“I’m so sorry, Dinah,” I cry in a low tone. “I was being selfish, and I know that catching me in that outfit took you by surprise. But I swear, what Xavier and I were doing wasn’t dangerous or even bad. It’s just a little roleplay that we like to indulge in, but I know it’s disgusting to you, and I’ll stop it, I promise. Consider it done. I’ll never see him again, if that’s what you want,” I cry out. “But please, don’t have another heart attack, okay? It was really scary, and you’re all I have.”

Dinah swallows like her throat is dry, and then the corners of her mouth turn up in a smile.

“Did I ask you to stop dating Mr. Carlton?” she manages in a creaky, raspy tone.

  I look up.

“No, but I just thought that’s what you wanted me to do. You had a heart attack Mom! The news was so shocking that you literally keeled over on my living room floor. I had to call 9-1-1.”

She nods and coughs again, her voice still raspy.

“But sweetheart, do you love him? Do you love this Xavier Carlton?”

I sniffle a little, trying to think.

“I think I do. I mean, I know that I feel like I’m soaring through the air sometimes when I’m with him. I know that he makes me happy, and that –”

My mom waves one frail hand in the air then.

“That’s all I need to hear, Katie. If he makes you happy and you think you love him, then I don’t want to get in your way. You should be with your man, sweetheart, and if you like a little roleplay now and then, then so what? Who am I to say what makes someone tick? As long as it doesn’t hurt anyone, and only builds your love, then why not?”

I stare at Dinah’s waxen complexion.

“What? Are you serious? Are you feeling alright, Mom?”

My mother merely manages a raspy chuckle. That turns into a cough, which brings tears to her eyes and with alarm, I hand her the water again. She takes a grateful sip before speaking.

“I’m feeling okay, sweetheart. Well, my poor heart is obviously not doing well, but otherwise, I’m okay. I’m perfectly sound of mind, and I know what I’m saying. I want you to be happy, Katie. I want you to meet the man of your dreams, and if Xavier Carlton could be the one, then why not? And if you both like a little roleplay, then why not? It’s not for your old mother to decide.”

I stare and then break down and begin to half-laugh and half-cry at the same time.

“I had no idea you’d be okay with this,” I say in tears. “This is so amazing.”

Dinah merely manages a small smile of her own.

“You’ve always hated the fact that I’m loopy and absent-minded, Katie, but maybe it’s my loopiness that also makes me open to new experiences and new ideas. Maybe it’s my loopiness that helps me be accepting of others, and different lifestyles. So why not roleplay a bit? Life is hard enough as it is, so why not indulge in something fun and lighthearted? It’s as if you’re living in another universe with a handsome man.”

I laugh a bit through my tears.

“It does feel like that sometimes. Xavier and I have our own little world, and it’s like we live in it together, just him and me. It’s a closed circuit, but we both enjoy it so much, and Mom, I can’t wait for you to meet him. You’ll love him just as much as I do,” I promise.

Suddenly, heavy footsteps sound in the hallway, and the door bursts open. It’s the man of the hour himself, Xavier Carlton, looking insanely handsome with his glowering dark looks and a black suit that emphasizes his tall, athletic physique.

My mom looks at me with surprise.

  “Is this –?”

“It is,” I say in a soft voice. “I was on my way to his place when you came to my apartment. I’d forgotten that I gave you an extra key,” I say in a wry voice. “But after we came to the hospital, Xavier called out of concern and when I told him what happened, he said that he was going to come himself. So Mom, meet Xavier. Xavier, this is my mother, Dinah McCall.”

My handsome lover steps forward a bit tentatively.

“Ms. McCall, it’s a pleasure,” he says in a low voice. “Katie told me that you suffered a heart attack, and …?”

I take a deep breath and look between my mom and this man who means the world to me.

“She says it’s okay, Xavier. Dinah knows everything, and she doesn’t mind that we engage in age play.”

Xavier looks absolutely shocked even as a dark flush spreads over his cheekbones.

“Really?” he asks in deep growl. “This is okay with you, Ms. McCall? This relationship between me and your daughter? You see, I love Katie, and I would never hurt her. I know the lifestyle appears odd to people who aren’t a part of our community, but I swear, I will take care of her no matter what. Katie means that much to me, and I’m so grateful to you for your understanding.”

My mom smiles and waves her hand a bit tremulously in the air.

“It’s fine, Mr. Carlton. You see, I’ve decided that my daughter’s happiness matters to me more than anything in the world, and if you make her happy, then so be it. You have my full support. But hurt her one whit, and know that I’ll be at your door with a shotgun.”

My man throws his head back and laughs.

“You know what, Ms. McCall? I think we’re going to be great friends.”

My mom smiles and a feisty spark returns to her eyes.

“We will be, Mr. Carlton, so long as you treat my daughter
right.”

I can’t believe this is happening. My mother and my man are getting along together like two fish in the sea, and it’s astonishing. I thought they would be suspicious of one another, but instead, they’re laughing and cackling like they’ve been best friends for years. After a few more minutes of light banter, I pull Xavier into the hallway to give my mom some rest.

“Xavier, do you mean it?” I ask a little breathlessly, my cheeks flushed. “Do you love me?”

His eyes deepen to a shade of midnight blue and he pulls me close even as nurses walk by us in the bustling hospital.

“I do, Katie,” he says. “I love you more than I thought I could ever love anyone, and I want to be with you, honey. I want you to be with me too, and I want to extend our togetherness beyond the original tw0-month term. Would you consider that?”

I smile at him with tears in my eyes.

“Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?”

He pretends to think for a moment, but then he nods, eyes serious.

“Yes, Katie. That’s what I’m asking. I’d love to take care of you, and to parade you about in the open for all to see. I want the world to know that you’re mine, and to deepen and strengthen the relationship between us. So will you, Katie? Can I keep seeing you, even after all this is done with?”

I smile a bit myself, fighting back tears.

“Can my mom stay in her apartment? Otherwise, if I move into your penthouse, she might have to move in too.”

At that, Xavier scoops me up into his arms and twirls me about. I laugh, my blonde hair spinning in a sheet behind me.

“Of course she can stay,” Xavier growls into my ear. “For you, anything, Katie.”

And with that, our love is sealed. We two are now one, and the Daddy is going to take care of his little girl, just the way he always does.

  Xavier

  A year later.

Katie and I are lying in bed, but now, the little girl is sleepy. We just had a hot session together, and she’s feeling more than a little satisfied as she yawns tiredly.

“You ready to turn out the lights, sweetheart?” I ask.

She nods while cuddling into my bronzed chest.

“Yes Daddy,” she says. “But can I have a bit of milk first?”

“Of course, sweetheart,” I say. “Here, I poured a cup for you before we even got into bed.”

I hand her the glass and she takes a few swallows before handing it back to me with a sleepy smile.

“Thank you, Daddy,” she murmurs while lying back down again. “You always take such good care of me.”

“Of course, honey,” I say, stroking fingers through her soft blonde hair. “But can you do something for Daddy before you sleep?”

She nods, her eyes already closed.

  “Of course. What is it?”

I nudge her head downwards until it’s at waist level and immediately, her lips open and suckle at my stiffening tool.

“That’s it,” I groan, my abs tensing as her cheeks hollow a bit. “That’s right, honey. Use Daddy as your pacifier just like a good baby does. Thank you, sweetheart. That feels amazing.”

Katie merely mewls and continues sucking while my body grows rigid with arousal. Like a good girl, she continues to suck until finally, I explode straight into her mouth. She swallows every drop before licking her lips and snuggling against me once more.

“Is that good, Daddy? If I need my pacifier again, I’ll reach for it during the night.”

Breathing hard, I stroke her soft blonde hair once more.

“That was wonderful, Katie. Thank you for being such a good girl.”

With that, Katie yawns and dozes off while stretched out on my chest. Meanwhile, I continue to caress her narrow back and savor the smooth feel of her skin. After all, this is my wife now. After her mother’s heart attack, Katie and I decided we wanted to be exclusive. Not just exclusive, but legally bound to one another, and so in a matter of months, we were married.

My son, Kenneth, was more than a little surprised when he found out who was going to be his new stepmother.

“You’re marrying my high school classmate?” he snarled. “What the fuck?”

  I growled right back.

“That’s right, and Katie’s worth it. So you better push your horns back into your head and get with the picture, otherwise you’re out of a job and a place to stay.”

That made Kenneth shut up, seeing that Carlton Realty is the hand that feeds him. But he came around soon enough, once he realized that Katie was a permanent part of my life. And now that we have a baby on the way, he’s grudgingly acknowledged that his new stepmother is here to stay.

Meanwhile, Dinah’s reaction to our marriage and pregnancy was completely different. The middle-aged woman was over the moon.

‘This is wonderful,” she gushed. “I’ll have to consult the astrological charts for the best day for the baby to be born. After all, you want the timing to be fortuitous, don’t you?” she asked.

Katie shot her mom a loving but confused look.

“Mom, the doctors already gave me a due date, and the baby should be born either ten days before that date, or ten days after. There’s not a lot of room for variation.”

  But Dinah merely chortled.

“Oh doctors this, doctors that. The truth is that these doctors never really know what they’re saying. I’ll have to consult my charts, my tarot cards, and also Bilal, the Kitchen God. He’s very important to me, you see, and we have a long-standing relationship.”

  Katie merely laughed and smiled.

“Okay Mom, you do that. And let me know what he says too,” she giggled.

After all, our love was improbable to begin with. My wife came to me with the intention of preventing an eviction, but instead, we became an item with a naughty secret between us: we enjoy DD / lg roleplay, even if the rest of the world sees it as strange.

But it doesn’t matter because the people who love us see nothing wrong with our lifestyle choice, and now, my baby is having a baby. I’m going to be a father again, and it’s a gift that I treasure with my entire heart. Katie has become everything to me, and I value her even more because my little girl is now giving me the ultimate present: a child born of our love.

Next up: A Sneak Peek of Mommy’s Boss. My mom’s gorgeous boss just fired her, and I’m going to tell Cameron Savage exactly what I think of him.

  Sneak Peek: Mommy’s Boss

  Cameron

Mommy’s lost her job, and I’m here to confront Cameron Savage, her gorgeous, growly employer with a body made of steel.

  * * *

Holy shit, the girl is beautiful. She’s dressed in rags, but even the rags can’t detract from the perfect symmetry of her features, and the lush lips that have me raging with a hard-on within seconds. I was ready to devour her but then those lips opened to speak.

“Cameron Savage?” she asks in a challenging voice.

  I smirk.

  “That’s me.”

Her brows lower and storm clouds descend.

“My name is Madeline Mitchell,” she says in a huff. “And I’ll have you know that you just destroyed the soul of a beautiful woman who didn’t deserve it.”

I raise my brows in amusement as the door slams shut behind her.

“I’m sorry? And would this beautiful woman be you?”

The blonde shakes her head furiously.

“No, it’s not, and I don’t appreciate you making fun of me. For your information, the woman I’m talking about is my mother, Grace DeWitt Mitchell, and you have officially ground her into dust with your abominable treatment of her.”

My mind whirls. Who is this Grace person? I try to think, but no one comes to mind. There was the woman that I hooked up with last month, but her name was something that s
tarted with “L.” I would remember if her name was Grace.

Then, there’s my ex from a year ago who keeps calling and then hanging up before I can answer. Adelaide is insane, and I’m happy to be rid of her. Crazies are difficult to reason with, and being with one who’s hot and crazy seems to be an especially lethal mix.

But who is the sumptuous woman standing before me, and who is Grace?

“I’m sorry,” I say in a silky tone. “But I think you have the wrong person. I don’t know who you’re talking about, nor do I know anything about these alleged high crimes I’ve committed.”

The girl snorts, her cheeks a bewitching shade of pink.

“Grace Mitchell is my mother,” she says in a trembling voice. “She’s worked for Le Palms for almost ten years now as a showgirl, and you just fired her tonight. You broke her heart, Mr. Savage, and cast her away like she means nothing! After ten years of service. Is this how you treat all your employees?”

I squint, trying to recall the events of tonight. I did have a conversation with George Cox, who manages the showgirls who work at Le Palms earlier. And he did say something about having to let a couple of the girls go because of drug-related dependencies and general truancy. But he didn’t say anything about firing a middle-aged woman who was supporting her family. Or did he?

“I’m sorry,” I say with a shrug. “But personnel matters are private, and I can’t discuss them with any random stranger who comes bursting into my office in the middle of the night. Now if you’ll excuse me,” I say in a frigidly polite tone.

But the blonde’s not having it.

“No,” she spits. “You listen to me, Cameron Savage. My mom has worked long and hard for years now working her fingers to the bone, and you are not going to break her like this. Before she was a showgirl at Le Palms, she worked in housekeeping doing the hotel linens and other peoples’ laundry. Do you understand what I’m saying? My mom is not a leech. She is not a bloodsucker. Grace is a good person who works hard, and she doesn’t deserve to be fired from her job just like that!”
