Her Border Lands Wish

“You do realize that neither one of you are ever touching me again, right?”

“You’ve made that very clear,” Jeremy said with a chuckle.

“Laugh now, asshole. You won’t be laughing in six weeks,” she said. Another contraction caught her by surprise, and she was yelling out as it rushed over her.

“Push, Mandy. Push,” Garrett and Jeremy both said together.

She pushed. She had no choice. The urge was there, and she needed to get it over with.

A sharp cry let her know that she had another baby and she could rest. Finally, she was done. They could do the rest of it without her. She was done.

“It’s a girl,” Garrett said. “She’s perfect. All of her fingers and toes and no dangly bits between her legs.”

Amanda had to smile at that. Garrett placed the baby on her chest, and she cuddled her to her breast. The little girl opened her eyes and blinked up at her before closing them again and poking out her lips.

“What are we going to name them?” Jeremy asked. “You never settled on names.”

  “Casey and Cassandra,” she said.

“Casey and Cassy,” Jeremy said. “I like it.”

“You surprised us for sure, Mandy girl. No wonder you had such a big belly and they were keeping you up all the time. They were playing with each other and keeping you awake doing it,” Jeremy said.

“All those nights one or the other of them kicked me in the back I thought there was just one of them and there were two of them doing it. Poor Mandy. You had a good reason for being so exhausted all the time,” Garrett said.

“I need to feed them,” she said.

“Just need to tend to the afterbirth, and then you can do that. Let’s get you cleaned up while Jeremy washes them off and tends to them,” Garrett said.

  “I’m sorry, guys,” she said.

“For what?” Jeremy asked as he picked up Cassandra.

“For cursing you and being so bitchy,” she said.

“You know that term, ‘What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas’? Well, what happens during childbirth is lost in childbirth. We ignored it anyway. Don’t worry about it,” Garrett said.

Amanda prayed they meant it since she’d pretty much been a bitch for the last month, as well as during the last five or so hours. She was exhausted now and needed a nap, but she wanted to feed her babies more.

Once Garrett pronounced her clean and they’d stripped the bed and put on clean sheets, Jeremy helped her settle the twins in her arms to feed them. They were champs and sucked well right from the start. It was a good thing that Jeremy was there with her since she fell asleep before they were finished.

The next day the three of them sat in the bed together taking turns holding the babies. Garrett had Cassandra and was blowing kisses at her while Jeremy was kissing on Casey. She thought they both looked silly but handsome with their babies in their arms. She didn’t care who the birth father was for the infants. They were both going to be great fathers regardless.

“We made pretty babies, didn’t we?” she asked.

  “Perfect babies,” Jeremy said.

  “Absolutely,” Garrett added.

“I love you guys so much,” she said, snuggling between them.

“I love you, Mandy girl. You’re perfect for us. You’ve given us two wonderful children and made our life complete,” Jeremy said.

“I love you for being the strong woman you are. You’ve taken on two men and now two children in a harsh land without complaint. I’ll love you for the rest of my life,” Garrett said, leaning over to kiss her cheek.

“I couldn’t have wished for better men to love,” she said.

“Neither could we,” Jeremy said. “Neither could we.”
