Cassie enjoyed looking at the exterior Christmas decorations on all the houses and wished it could last a little longer.
Geri and Amy were running to catch up to Cassie.
“Hey, are you excited about New Year’s? What are you going to write down this year, Cassie?” Amy started the conversation.
“Write down . . . what? I guess I don’t know what you mean.” Cassie looked at Amy and then glanced at Geri.
“Oh, come on, what are you going to wish for?” Geri said. “Will it be something about Joshua or Chris?”
“Honey, I really don’t know what you’re talking about.” Cassie was a little perplexed.
Amy looked at Geri. “Gosh, she doesn’t know our ways.” Then she stared at Cassie. “What did you do in the city?”
Cassie had to be very careful about what she was going to say.
“Well, we stayed up until midnight, eating all our favorite snacks, and when the clock chimed at midnight, we said happy New Year to everyone, and my mom and dad kissed.”
“That’s all?” Amy said a little confused. “Oh, you’re going to have a lot more fun here . . . won’t she, Geri?”
“Definitely!”
