“Today, my father will be avenged,” he told Thomas in his ear. “Today, the offspring of his killers will finally be annihilated.”

“Keep dreaming, pal,” Thomas said, before twirling his leg around Drake Junior’s and tripping him. They both fell on the ground, Thomas on top of Drake Junior. Thomas quickly got up, followed by Drake Junior. Then, Thomas waved his hand toward Drake Junior’s gut, but Drake Junior parried his blow and stabbed him in the stomach. Thomas made a muffled sound, then collapsed on the ground, while blood was gushing from his wound.

“No!” Julie yelled, after seeing the scene. Then while still yelling, she ran toward Drake Junior with her knife held high above her head. When she reached him, she tried to stab him directly, but Drake Junior parried the blow. Julie then kicked him in the scrotum, which made him bow down in pain. She then pulled his head up by the hair and stuck the knife in his mouth through his chin, all the way up to his nose.

“When you go to Hell and see your father, tell him I said hi, you fucker,” she told Drake Junior, before he snorted, rolled his eyes in his head, and collapsed on the ground, blood gushing from his wound.

Julie then ran toward Thomas. When she reached next to him, she grabbed his head in her lap.

“It’s okay, Thomas,” she said. “I’m right here. You’re gonna be okay, you hear me? You’re gonna be just fine.”

  “Julie…” Thomas said.

“It’s okay, Thomas. Don’t talk. I’m gonna fix you, you hear me? You’ll be okay. I just need to…”

  “Julie…”

“Yes, Thomas, I’m right here. What is it? What do you need?”

“I want you to promise me something.”

  “Sure, Thomas, anything.”

“Promise me… that you’ll… live a decent, happy… life. On your…terms. Promise me that… you won’t take shit… from no one. Promise me, Julie. Please!”

Julie started crying. Two tears from her eyes fell on Thomas’ face.”

“I promise you, big bro. I promise.”

“That’s all I needed to hear.”

And after saying that, he rolled his eyes over and his head turned on one side. Julie shouted out loud with her eyes above and her crying intensified.

“I heard something. Someone’s coming out,” one of the rebels yelled.

All the rest of the rebels pointed their weapons toward the cabin, to see who is coming. And what they saw shocked them to the core.

A young girl, no more than twenty five years of age, with a Kalashnikov on her shoulder and the head of Drake Junior in her left hand, came out of the cabin and was headed toward them. All the rebels were speechless.

“Jesus Christ, is that what I think it is?” one of them said.

“That’s Drake’s head. But how…” another one said.

“Holy mother of God, she killed him,” another rebel said.

The girl suddenly stopped. She then threw the head at the feet of one of the rebels and said:

“Whoever doesn’t leave me alone will share his fate.”

The rebels put down their weapons and kneeled in front of her.

“We have nothing but respect for the one who killed the strongest of us,” one of them said. “Therefore, we will leave you alone.”

And after saying that, they took their weapons, turned their backs on her and left.

In the back of the cabin, Julie put the final make-shift cross at the head of the fourth grave, the grave of Thomas. She then walked toward the other three graves and stopped next to them.

“Martha, Steve and Simon…” she said. “All three of you were good people. The kind who are as rare as they can get nowadays. I’ll always remember you for your kindness and I’ll always cherish the friendship you gave me. I will also be grateful to you for saving my life.”

She then walked toward Thomas’ grave. She stopped next to it.

“Big bro… please say hi to mom and dad for me when you’ll find them up there. That’s all I’m asking you.”

She kissed her hand and then touched it to the grave.

“Goodbye, Thomas. I’ll always miss you, big bro.”

She then turned around and did the only thing that she could do: she started walking.
