Vlamarine puts her arm around Glaycol, leans over and smiles contentedly as Zodiac says, “We have spoken too much. Come, Vlamarine and Glaycol, let me take you to a place where you can spend some time alone.”

They follow Zodiac for a little while until they come across a small waterfall where there are fairies flying around, dancing to some unknown music. Vlamarine and Glaycol sit down to enjoy the scene before them. They enjoy each other’s company while Zodiac disappears from view. Vlamarine and Glaycol talk for a long time, sharing stories of adventures, and hunts they went on. and Vlamarine is able to see more of the man under all that hard exterior. The man he doesn’t show the world, and she doesn’t blame him. She has come to learn that it’s better being the way he is with people so he doesn’t have to be mindful of his surrounding or who he is with. After they talk for a little while longer Vlamarine looks around and says, “I guess it’s time to leave and head back to the Kingdom.”

Glaycol nods as he stands up and he stretches his hand to help her get up. They walk back toward the entrance and find Silver Wings and Dreya waiting for them. Silver Wings throws something that looks like dust into the sky and it explodes. A few minutes later they see Zodiac riding through the sky from the castle they see on the horizon. Upon his landing, Dreya opens the gate for them and as Glaycol starts to step through it, she says, “My parents send their regards, Glaycol, and they hope that you will bring you lovely wife to their house when next you come back around these parts.”

Glaycol gives her a hug and tells her, “I don’t think I’ll return here. I’ll be going to war soon. I’m looking for the location of Hyglarur, the son of bitch who murdered my family.”

Dreya looks at him for a moment before she says, “I can tell you where he is located. He is in the castle in the capital. We had fairies infiltrate for the specific purpose of searching for him. Once they found him they teleported back here and we’ve made sure to stay away from the capital so he doesn’t trail the fairies back here.”

Glaycol’s expression changes completely when he hears the location of his sworn enemy. Dreya sees his eye change color and an evil smile cross his face, and the killing intent he’s held onto for so long comes out, making all of them tremble in fear. Vlamarine recovers quickly and puts her hand on his shoulder, allowing Glaycol to come back to himself. He turns to Dreya and says, “Thanks for telling me the location of Hyglarur.”

They exit the gate and see that it is late and night has fallen. They get on Zodiac and ride hard back toward the elven Kingdom. Once they arrive they head straight to Vlamarine’s house. When they reach it they get off of Zodiac, make sure he has plenty of water and food, and they go inside. Once inside they eat, get a shower, and go to bed in each other arms.

  *****

Morning has come and everything is back to normal. Glaycol and Vlamarine spend time eating their breakfast together then a few minutes after that Glaycol goes to train while Vlamarine goes to watch the gate. The castle has placed a black knot on their gate, signaling the death of someone in the royal family, and the people are waiting to hear news about who the deceased is. During his training Glaycol went out of the city to send a letter to Dach, the leader of the Hunters Guild, to pass the message to the new rulers of the Independent City. On his way back he sees a group of hunters trying to approach an Elven female that is picking some herbs and mushrooms, and feeding some animals that are surrounding her. Zodiac stops by himself and Glaycol gets off and hides in a tree to see the Hunters’ intentions. One of the Hunters, his voice making the animals run away, says, “Hey lady, want to spend the night with a true man instead of those among your clan.”

Glaycol is able to see the ring on her finger, letting him know that she is married. The Elven female politely declines and excuses herself. As she walks away the hunters, not liking being turned down, surround her, leaving her no place to run. One of the guys grabs her by the hand while the another grabs her other hand. The remaining one unbuckles his belt and lowers his pants as he tells her, “No girl will ever turn me down.”

She starts screaming and that’s the cue that Glaycol needed to act. He jumps out of the tree and sprints toward the small group as he takes out his short knife. Without stopping his forward movement, he slices the guy’s member off, making him scream in pain as he tries to get it from the ground and cover his wound. Less than a second later he punches the other two hunters right in the nose, making them fall back to the ground.

Glaycol holds the girl up as he says to the hunters. “I have memorized your faces and I will go to the Hunter’s Guild leader, Dach, to have your license revoke, and if you are thinking on getting up,” Glaycol points the hunter whose member was cut off, “You better think again. You have encountered the Dragon Slayer and if I ever see you near here again I will have you three killed by the Elves. You are not welcome around here.”

Glaycol turns to the Elf and asks, “Are you okay?”

She nods and say her thanks to Glaycol as he helps her pick up her herbs and mushrooms then escorts her back to Zodiac and they both get on him. Glaycol steers him to the gate to meet with Vlamarine. Once they arrive Glaycol sees Vlamarine is accompanied by Esoj, who seems to be trying to apologize to her for what happened the day before. Glaycol gets off from Zodiac and helps the female Elf down so she can go back to her house. She mutters a soft “thanks” to Glaycol once again before she disappears through the gate.

The movement from the female running through the gate makes Vlamarine turn around and face Glaycol with a questioning look on her face while ignoring Esoj completely. After a moment she turns toward Esoj and says, “I said it once and I’ll say it once again, I don’t want to hear your excuses for not doing anything in my defense. Keep living your life and I will keep living mine.”

Vlamarine turns around without another word and walks to Glaycol. After brushing a soft kiss across his lips she asks softly, “Can we go away and train? I need to polish my attack.”

Glaycol nods and walks back to Zodiac. After they get on, they turn around and leave. Once they are heading toward their destination, Glaycol glances over his shoulder and says, “I will say this once so listen well. The female you saw running toward the city was going to be raped by three human Hunters that were in the area looking for an easy prey. I was on my way to the gate when I saw them and decided to intervene and save her life. I brought her back to the gate and she went on her way after that. I will never betray you. If I have any needs, I will come to you. You are not only my soon-to-be wife, but also my partner, and I don’t keep secrets from you. That would show I don’t trust you and you are the only female, besides my Grandmother, that knows what you know about me. Since you are going to be sharing the rest of your life at my side I made the decision to let you know everything I have gone through so there’s no need for jealousy. I know it’s an emotion you can’t control, but I want you to know that I am yours and no one else has more trust and faith in me. After all, you are the first female I have ever been intimate with.”

Vlamarine lays her head on his back and says, “I’m sorry, Glaycol. I just reacted.”

“There’s no need to apologize, my love. I just wanted to make that clear.”

They finish their journey in comfortable silence. Once they arrive at their destination, they train there for hours and hours, until it is time to head back to the city. When they arrive home, they do the same thing they did the day before; they eat, shower and go to bed together, but this time Glaycol makes sweet, love to Vlamarine.

  Chapter 21

The next few weeks are a training routine for Glaycol and Vlamarine. During that time Ethan and Jasorian have joined them and trained with them. The Elves has prepared to make the announcement today and make it known that the King has died, and that the new Monarch has been chosen from among the family. Tricia Iron Born will be the new leader, but the people don’t know that yet, they will find out today.

Glaycol told Ethan and Jasorian the location of Hyglarur,
but they have advised him to try to gather an army before venturing into the battlefield and allow many people to be killed. But, if he has the right equipment and the right war tools he can hold his ground against the Dragon Empire army. So Glaycol decides to make a small scale attack, the purpose being to save the King from the Dragons and bring him back to the Kingdom his grandparents have formed. This decision will make it possible for that city to prosper at an alarming rate and have merchants and activities coming and going. A few refugees have started to join the army that is being trained there.

Glaycol has made plans with Tricia to have an army of Elven soldiers, mostly archers, warriors and mages, but one problem remains. Glaycol has trust issues with the situation and he needs some kind of leverage in all this. He comes with the idea that if something happens and the Elves decide to betray them, which he knows won’t happen considering that Ethan will be leading them, he will have to have a treaty between them to be able to keep the situation under control.

Glaycol is thinking about all of this when he gets called by Tricia while he is training with Vlamarine. “Want to join me?” He asks her.

Vlamarine nods when the guard also summons Ethan and Jasorian. They take a few minutes to rest before they clean the sweat from their faces and head toward the Castle. When they arrive Tricia is waiting for them and everyone drops to one knee, respecting her. Tricia motions for them to stand and Glaycol looks at Tricia for the first time since entering. He takes in her long silver hair, deep blue eyes, pointy ears, and her slim, but fit figure before he speaks. “Your Majesty, to what pleasure do I owe your summoning?”

Tricia smiles and answers, “Glaycol Master, I am in need of your assistance. The same goes for my brother, Ethan, and the Monk, Jasorian.”

Glaycol looks at Vlamarine and she is looking back at him. When she nods Glaycol says, “I hope you are counting on Vlamarine to help us, too.”

Tricia shakes her head and responds, “I have another job for Vlamarine and it is just as important as yours, Glaycol. I will tell everyone what it is in a few moments.”

Glaycol nods and Tricia proceeds to say, “Glaycol, since you are a better hunter than anyone out there I need to tell you about a monster we have in a neighboring village that is hunting males. This village is under our control. This situation has been presented to my brother, the deceased King, multiple times and he never did anything about it. The females of the village don’t see whatever it is, but their partners are all constantly showing signs of contentment on their faces, like they are having some kind of pleasure. Do you have any idea of what it could be, Mr. Master?”

Glaycol repeats the details of the victims to Tricia and she nods, causing Glaycol to shake his head and say, “You have a serious problem. I know what it is, but it is also an intelligent species. I don’t kill monsters that are intelligent and I can tell you for a fact that the males got what they deserve. They must have an unsatisfying sex life for them to look for this solution.”

Tricia looks at him in confusion and asks, “Care to tell me what this intelligent beast might be?”

Glaycol looks at her seriously and tells her, “You are facing a Succubus. They are creatures that thrive on sex. Males look for them because a succubus can give you great pleasure, but the price is that you continue to crave sex until you get to the point where you die in the middle of an orgasm. There is one problem, there’s no proof of their existence. They used to be a legend that comes and goes. They don’t feed on humans and they can eat human food to sustain themselves. Once they do what they need to do they leave and roam around different places. They will never attack a human and they walk mostly without any clothing. The males of the area they are in seek them out and it’s not their fault they do the things they do; it is in their nature to pleasure anyone who seeks them out. They are always female, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that females despise them. Sometimes, it has been said that females seek them out to learn the pleasure firsthand. Very few survive those encounters and those that do either go back with knowledge to pleasure anyone they choose or they go to places to look for that one male that can satisfy their needs.”

Tricia looks at Glaycol, fascinated by his knowledge, and asks, “Is there any way to defeat them?”

Glaycol sighs and answers, “There are two ways and both of them are out of the question.”

Vlamarine, intrigued by what he said, asks, “What are those two ways?”

Glaycol takes a deep breath and answers, “Well, one is to kill them, which I won’t do. The second one is to make them orgasm. The Succubus are creatures designed to give pleasure, but they don’t gain any pleasure from their encounters with the male or female partners. If you make them orgasm they must do your will. They will become your female lover, or your female killer, depending on how you use them.”

Vlamarine, understanding the situation, asks, “Why is the second option out of the question?”

Glaycol looks at the floor for a second before looking up and locking eyes with her, “Because it means betraying you. I would have to have sex with it.”

Vlamarine nods her understanding of that and asks, “Why can’t it be someone else? Why would it have to be you?”

Glaycol looks at her sadly and answers, “To be able to beat a succubus you have to forget about your own pleasure and make sure you pleasure her until she orgasms. Once that is done you can obtain yours, but you must have sex with her in order to achieve it. Afterwards, they will want you to pleasure them again and again since it is something new to them.”

Vlamarine smiles sadly and nods her head, “Go ahead and do it, Glaycol. I know you are doing this for the sake of my people and for the sake of everyone else in the world. If it doesn’t happen here it will happen somewhere else, so you might as well stop it now.”

Glaycol nods and Tricia clears her throat, “Now, Ethan and Jasorian, I need you to provide protection to the Dwarf King that is heading this way. And Vlamarine, I want you to be my bodyguard for the duration of this. I want you to choose one of your archers to be your replacement as my bodyguard once you’re married since I know you will be leaving with Glaycol once he accomplishes his part of this deal.”

Glaycol, Ethan, and Jasorian turn around to leave, but Glaycol stops for a second and goes to Vlamarine. He gives her a long kiss on the lips and he whispers in her ear, “I’ll be back and, sadly, I’ll have another woman with me, but I am yours, never forget that.”

Glaycol lets go of her, turns around, and leaves, heading straight to Vlamarine’s house. Once there he gets Zodiac and rides out at full speed. Ethan and Jasorian do the same. They ride together until they come to a crossroad. They stop for a second then go their separate ways.

  *****

After a few hours on the road Glaycol arrives at his destination and there’s an old man waiting for him. Glaycol pulls Zodiac to a stop, gets off of him, and walks toward the old man.

The old man looks at him and asks, “Glaycol Master, I presume?”

Glaycol nods and asks, “And you are?”

The old man bows a little and answers, “Excuse my rudeness, Mr. Master. I am Lee. I am the leader of the village.”

“Anything else you can tell me about the situation since your last report to the King?”

Lee sighs and responds, “As a matter of fact, I do. Sadly, I do. It seems some the females who lost their husbands have suffered the same fate as their husbands.”

Glaycol sighs and mutters to himself, “So it wasn’t just the husbands who weren’t unsatisfied with their marriage. It was the wives, too.” Then he looks at Lee and adds, “Any of the females alive?”

Lee nods and answers, “There is one remaining from the ones who lost their husbands, but she seems not to be interested in looking for the killer of her husband. Apparently she is with another male from the city, one who was supposed to take care of the problem, but didn’t do anything. Instead he’s been spending every night with this specific female since the death of her husban
d, and she doesn’t seem to be lost without her husband.”

“Perfect. That’s just what I needed to know. Can you lead me to the location of this person’s house? Have you reported any of these situations to the one sent by the castle?”

Lee shakes his head and answers, “What’s the point? I know he can’t do anything. He is not a hunter. He is just a guard and it was made pretty clear that he is not interested in taking care of the problem,”

Glaycol nods and motions for Lee to proceed him, “Very well. Lead the way, Lee.”

Lee turns around and walks toward the location of the house of the female. On their way there Glaycol notices that the house sits apart from the others in the village, but he decides not to comment on it as he makes mental note about it. They are getting closer to the house and Glaycol can hear the sounds of two people having sex within. Lee seems to notice, too, but instead of saying anything he simply points at the house then turns around and leaves Glaycol alone. As he heads back to the village, Glaycol makes moves as slow as possible toward the house. The closer he gets the louder the sounds of sex coming from within get. The grunts of the male and the female are echoing around him and he waits. Once he hears them reach their peak, he hears the female say, “I’m so glad I met you, Charlie. I despised my husband very much and I was very happy when he died.”

Charlie responds breathlessly, “I’m also glad I met you, Mint. You are the fieriest woman I have ever met in bed. I want to keep this up, but I will have to return to the Castle and report about the situation. You are welcome to come back with me.”

Glaycol grins, he has heard enough and he kicks the door open to see a red haired, female Elf and the male Elf that was supposed to take care of the issue against the end of the bed. “Excuse my intrusion.”

The Elven male is about to do something, but upon seeing Glaycol he walks backwards toward the bed. Glaycol looks at both of them with his one eye, but his killing intent is roaming wild. The city guard starts shaking and Glaycol grins as he starts to pee on himself. The female seems to be terrified of Glaycol. Glaycol, upon having the reactions he was waiting for, looks at the Elven male and says, “Charlie, what do you know about the situation? Anything you want to report? Can you confirm that you have already taken care of the menace? From what I can tell you are reaping the rewards of the female that seems so lost without her husband. You must have done really well consoling her and taking care of her needs.”
