The Wolves Are Everywhere

“Wait until Sin finds out,” Gareth said, chuckling.

Ryder scowled at Janie. “Babe, that’s not funny.”

Janie shrugged. “Calling ’em like I see them. Lance’s a hot dad.”

Logan called one of the trainers over and pulled out his phone. “Take a picture of us, please.” He kissed Kylie’s head before sitting beside David. Then he curled his finger at her. “Come here, Hood.”

She noticed Janie taking a step back, and she grabbed her arm. “Nope. You get in here with me.” She pushed Janie down between David and Little Luc so she would be between the twins, then she sat between Logan’s legs and pointed at Luc and the other Godsons, the Knights, and of course, Lance Grimm and his sons—even Than Messor and Damon King. “Everyone squeeze in. Next time we’ll have our whole family here. But this is the twins first time with all their daddies and uncles . . . and their mommy and their mama.”

Janie stared at her, tears glistening in her eyes as David kissed her and put Nathan in her lap before pulling both of them onto his. Ryder scooted closer, but he whispered in Little Luc’s ear. The little boy got up with Luc’s help, and he walked over as Logan moved next to David and Janie. Little Luc grinned at Kylie before sitting on her lap with Natalie.

Logan chuckled, kissing Kylie’s head as he pulled the two of them onto his lap while everyone got into place.

The trainer backed up, holding Logan’s phone. “That looks good.”

Kylie had never been happier than she was seeing everyone smiling. It felt like heaven in Logan’s arms, with Janie’s arm brushing hers as Logan reached over, putting his hand over Janie’s where she held Nathan’s hand. The girl really was pretty when she cried, and Kylie cried happy tears with her before leaning her head on Janie’s shoulder.

Kylie suddenly laughed, spotting the elder Luc trying to leave. “Luc Godson, you get over here. I know you’re not letting your queen rule your kingdom without you.”

His lip twitched as he took in Janie’s smile. “One day that smile won’t work.”

“Not today, my king,” Janie said.

Ryder patted his leg. “As close as you’re getting to my baby.”

“Child,” Luc said, but he sat beside his brother.

It was perfect, and she hugged Little Luc as Logan hugged her and kissed her neck.

“Love you, Hood,” he whispered against her skin.

“I love you.” She put her hand over Natalie’s tiny hand. “Long live the King and Queen,” she exclaimed.

Janie chuckled, adding, “And all the queen’s men, her sisters, daughters, and her sons.”

“Take the picture,” Ryder said. “I need to go make a daughter so next picture we really have all of us.”

Logan laughed. “You’re supposed to give my baby doll a break from baby making.”

Ryder smirked at them. “Oh, yeah. Well, we can practice. She’s supposed to get cleared for sex today. Sweet Jane’s dying for a good dick down from her Ds.”

“Oh, my gosh!” Kylie covered Little Luc’s ears. “Don’t listen to your father.”

He smiled up at her. “Oh, he’ll just wipe my memory later.”

Kylie’s eyes flew open wide when the flash went off. “Shit!”

“Dammit, Blondie.” Ryder hushed Jason when he cried.

“Sorry.” She waved at the trainer. “One more.”

“How about a simple ‘cheese’?” The trainer held the phone up again.

Logan and Ryder spoke together, “How about you suck my left nut?” They both glared at each other. “Fucker.”

  “Cheese!”

Then light, laughter, sexy smirks, chocolate Logan kisses, and even sweeter, the Kiss of Death. A touch of magic and pixie dust for fairy tales written by two kings, a handsome prince, and their one queen who believed in second chances and true love beyond forever and for longer than always . . . a girl who never really grows up, yet her soul is the oldest of them all. The girl who’s never better, yet she fights alongside hunters and knights, runs with talking wolves, and rides with the most dangerous of horsemen.

And, of course, we shall never forget or hold less dear all Little Hoods as they are loved, protected, and cherished by gods and monsters.

Glow, for you are fire, my darling gold flame. You are beauty in darkness. You are light, Little Moon. Our goddess. Now roar.

For little goddesses are always watching, always hopeful and sometimes frightened. You will slip, you will fall, but never forget, dear sweet girl, you can rise.

Shine. ’Tis okay to not be the last, to not be the first. You are mine. Never alone, never forgotten, and always loved. Always enough.

Now dance, smile, and laugh, Little Hood. For it is our favorite sight.

And that is the story of what happened when the girl under the red hood met her big bad wolf.

A personal explanation of how this story came to be and why I chose to name the Janie/Jane character after myself will be provided on www.janiemariebooks.com at a later date.

A huge thank you to artist Thander Lin. I truly appreciate the commitment to see my characters come to life and to fit in the sudden change from one cover to three after we were all done. The covers are incredible, and I’m so happy with the design.

And thank you to each of my readers who’ve stood by me for so long. You’re incredible. Thank you for embracing me as I embrace every bit of myself.
