Billionaire Barista: Love Demands a Holiday Page 9

  “Fuck me, Davenport,” I challenged.

I reached between us and adjusted his cock, so the head was positioned at my core. Without pretense or preamble, he pushed home. His cock filled me to the brim, and I arched against him. It felt amazing to be so full. I moaned, my fingers digging into his biceps.

He buried his head in my neck and didn’t move for a long moment.

  “Chris?”

“I need a minute or I’m going to blow. And it’s too fast.”

I ran my fingers over his back soothing him.

“Fuck, you feel amazing. Like your perfect cunt was made just for me.” He pulled his hips back until he was barely inside of me. Then he thrust home. He set a very slow but rough pace. I lifted my hips, meeting him thrust for thrust. Our bodies noisily came together over and over again.

His eyes never left mine as he watched me. And just like the first night we were together, I felt like we were the only two people in the entire world. Everything else fell away.

Is this what most people felt when they had sex? Would it feel this good if I had sex with someone else? I couldn’t help but feel like sex with anyone else would be disappointing.

The tension between us grew even though the pace stayed the same. We rocked together, our moans and bodies slapping together were the only sounds in the room. I didn’t even care if someone else heard us. I didn’t care about anything except being with Chris.

The world came in and out of focus as he rode me all the way to a very intense, blissful climax. He gripped my hips and fucked into me harder until I felt the hot splash of his come erupting inside of me. We rocked together until we were completely spent. He rolled off me and then gathered me in his arms. He kissed my forehead and then my lips. We kissed passionately for a long moment, both of us still breathless and trembling.

  “You doing okay?” he asked.

I smiled up at him. “I’m great.” Sleep was tugging at me again.

  “Sleep, Cin. We’ll talk tomorrow.”

I opened my mouth to argue with him, to tell him there was so much we needed to figure out, but I couldn’t hold my eyes open. This time I slept hard and didn’t recall any dreaming.

  10

  Chris

Waking up with Cassia in my arms was like a dream come true. I couldn’t believe she was there. I watched her sleep for nearly an hour, just enjoying having her naked body pressed against mine.

I hoped that it wasn’t crossing a line, but Cassia seemed to enjoy every moment of their time together. To the point she’d even demanded I fuck her. I’d been more than happy to.

But now I knew I couldn’t let her get away. I needed her in my life.

It hadn’t been the sex. It had been everything else when we were together.

Even though the time we’d spent together had been minimal, I had no doubt that she was everything I wanted.

As much as I didn’t want to leave the confines of their little love nest, I wanted to respect her need for space.

I wanted her to miss me. Maybe even seek me out.

I’d been making it easy for her to give in by being close.

But I needed to know if she wanted me as much as I wanted her.

I slipped from the bed and grabbed my clothes, quickly pulling on jeans as I snuck out of the room.

Only to run right into Sofia.

Her eyes grew wide and she stuck her finger out at me accusingly.

“Downstairs. I don’t want to wake her up.”

Sofia gave me a sharp nod and we headed down into the kitchen. I automatically started making morning lattes. I needed a caffeine pick me up. Cassia and I had gone three rounds before I got out of her bed.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Sofia barked.

“What Cassia and I do is none of your business.”

“It is if you break her heart and she can’t finish the work for the show.”

“First of all, the way things are going between us, Cassia is going to break my heart. And I’m not going to get in the way of her dreams or yours, big sister.”

She scowled at me. “Why her? You could go after any woman you wanted to.”

  “He didn’t tell you?”

Sofia and I both turned to see James leaning in the doorway.

“That’s the girl he deflowered and fell in love with at summer camp. The one he treated badly so she would hate him. So she wouldn’t find out about the asshole who filmed them.”

Sofia blinked at me. “That was Cassia.”

I shrugged as I steamed the milk.

“Why didn’t you tell me? I wouldn’t have gotten involved with her if I’d know the two of you had such history.”

“Why not? You love her designs.”

  Sofia shrugged. “It’s messy.”

“I know you think you can control everything and plan for every little problem, but that’s not how life works. I love Cassia and because of some jealous asshole, I had to break her heart. Otherwise, we might be married by now.”

“Don’t kid yourself, little brother,” James said. “You were an idiot back then. You still kind of are. If that douchebag hadn’t made your lives hard, you would’ve fucked it up some other way. Do you remember what happened with that girl in college?”

  “She wasn’t Cassia.”

“No, she wasn’t. But you still treated her terribly.”

I rolled my eyes. “You’re not fucking listening. This entire time, I’ve wanted one woman. I tried to make myself get over her, but every time I thought about what kind of woman I wanted to be with, Cassia was all I ever saw. And now she’s here.”

“I assume you fucked her?” James said. “That’s why our sister is so pissed off?”

  “Something like that,” I growled.

I didn’t want to talk to them about this. Not when I didn’t understand any of it as it was.

“This is incredibly terrible timing, but I have to go away for the weekend. My manager scheduled a commercial for me to shoot. I have to do it. We’re contractually obligated. And she should take some time off. I don’t want her to burn out before we even get to the show.”

I lit up. “That’s not terrible timing, that’s amazing timing. I can spend the weekend with her.”

“Do you think that’s a good idea?” Sofia asked.

“Why not? I need to show her that I’m not…I’m not even sure what she thinks of me, but I don’t want her to be stuck in the past. I want to move forward with her.”

  “What about Japan?” James asked.

“What about it? I won’t be there forever and she’s going to have to go to New York anyway. I don’t want to be a distraction from that.”

Sofia shook her head. “Maybe I should invite Cassia to go to Los Angeles with me. We can get away and spend more time together. I really like her.”

I rolled my eyes. “What happened to her needing a break?”

“I’m afraid of what kind of break you’re going to give her, Chris. You don’t know what you’re doing with your life. What makes you think you’re ready for a serious relationship? You’ve never wanted one until now.”

“Isn’t that how this whole romance thing works? You’re not with the person you want to be until you are and you’re happy?”

James shook his head. “Not in my experience.”

“Cassia isn’t looking to escape with a shit ton of cash.”

“I’ve never seen someone work as hard as she does. And I’m a workaholic. She had two jobs and was trying to make her own clothing line work.”

James let out a low whistle. “That is dedication. Man, she must be exhausted.”

“Sof, I need you to have some faith in me. I’m not a monster. I’m not going to treat her badly. I just want to spend some time with her. Some real time where we can get to know each other again.”

“Then you should probably start by keeping your clothes on.”

I scowled at her. “I wasn’t suggesting endless rounds of sex.”

; She made a face. “Please don’t say the word sex around me again. And would you please put on a shirt? You’re so gross.”

James chuckled. “Plus, you smell like sex.”

I grinned proud of our exertions from the night before. “I know.”

James and Sofia both rolled their eyes in unison.

“I don’t need your permission. I only need Cassia’s,” I said as I headed out of the kitchen, leaving two lattes on the counter like I did every morning.

  * * *

I had to leave the house, just to steer clear of Cassia for the rest of the day. Otherwise, I knew I would’ve interrupted Cassia just to talk to her. She was consuming all my thoughts. I was very aware I was acting like an idiot. I just didn’t care.

I headed into town to set up shop at The Daily Grind to get some work in. I ordered an Americano and sat down in the corner with my laptop. I called up my business partner.

  “Hey, Tony, how’s it going?”

“They’ve moved up the timeline. They’d like us in Japan next week.”

Damn it! That was too soon.

  “Why?”

“Mr. Furukawa is eager to get the game out. He thinks it’s going to be a huge hit. They’re ready to start marketing for an October release.”

  “October is now.”

  “That’s what I’m saying, buddy.”

I pinched the bridge of my nose. I wasn’t ready to leave. I hadn’t talked to my dad. I hadn’t had any time to figure out how to handle the situation between me and Cassia. If I left next week that could be more detrimental. Or maybe it wouldn’t be. Maybe I wasn’t giving either us enough credit.

“Just get the flights and send me the information. I’ll figure stuff out on my end.”

Tony chuckled. “You could try and sound more excited for this. This is what we’ve been working for since college.”

“Yeah, I know. I just…the timing sucks. Do we know how long we need to be in Japan?”

“Not yet. We need to help get them on board with everything.”

“Okay. Look, I’m in a coffee shop right. I’ll call you tomorrow.”

I raked my hand through my hair. I needed this weekend with Cassia more than ever. I didn’t want to give up on us having a future, but I knew everything with her was very tentative. And I didn’t want to scare her off.

I worked until the shop closed and then I headed back to the estate. I didn’t know where else to go. When I got there Sofia was loading her stuff into a town car that was most likely taking her to Omaha to catch a plane.

“You still mad at me?” I asked.

Sofia looked over as I approached. “No. Honestly, I worry about you, Chris. You’ve always done your own thing and never cared what anyone thought, except for our dad and grandfather. But you have to make yourself happy, not them. And if you and Cassia have a history, who am I to get in the way of that?” She pulled me into a hug. “Just be careful with your heart and hers. She’s tough. She doesn’t have a lot of people in her life. It sounds like her family life hasn’t been easy.”

I knew about some of it; but I hated that her family was so unsupportive.

The world always found a way to hurt you one way or another.

  “I know.”

She nodded. “I’ll be back on Monday. Cassia already went home.”

“Okay. Have a safe trip. And don’t let that manager of yours run you ragged.”

  “Never.”

There was a glint in her eye I didn’t quite understand.

I watched her car disappear down the drive.

I headed in, hating that Cassia hadn’t just stayed here at the estate. With me.

But then, my phone buzzed with a text.

Cassia: There’s a Smallville marathon going on.

Chris: Yeah? I used to love that show.

  Cassia: Right?!

Chris: Is that what you’re doing for the evening?

Cassia: I do have a thing for superheroes in red and blue. But I might get a better offer.

Chris: Is there a better offer?

  Cassia: Probably not.

Chris: Do you want some company?

Cassia: I do. I should’ve just asked you to come over.

Chris: Yeah, but at least you were honest.

Cassia: I have the weekend off.

  Chris: I heard.

Cassia: Want to hang out some? See if we’re just hot sex or if there’s something more between us?

Chris: I’ll be there in a half hour.

I stopped by to pick up snacks and a couple of bottles of wine.

  I knocked on her door.

Cassia answered in a pair of pajama pants and a tank top. Her hair was in a bun on top of her head. She looked comfortable and happy—just how I liked her.

She gestured for me to enter.

  “I brought snacks.”

“Did you buy out the store?”

“I left things like tuna and Brussel sprouts behind.”

  “Be still my heart.”

We unloaded the junk food and drinks. Her futon was flat, like a bed, and really the only thing to sit on. She didn’t have a couch or any chairs.

We sat together side by side with a bag of popcorn and Oreos between us. We had an array of drinks next to us.

“Cin, tell me about your life.”

She glanced over at me. “Aren’t we watching the marathon?”

“I want to know more about you.”

She leaned back and shifted a little, so she was facing me more. “What exactly do you want to know?”

  “Where are your parents?”

She frowned. “As far as I’m aware? Jubilee Falls.”

“Do you talk to them often?”

  Her lips thinned. “No.”

“What happened? I know you were having issues that summer.”

“I got kicked out at the end of summer.”

  “Why?”

“I was eighteen.” She shrugged. “They didn’t want anything to do with me. Claimed I was ‘mooching’ off them.”

  “Mooching, huh?”

“I graduated high school, got straight A’s. But I wasn’t the Valedictorian, so I didn’t do well enough.”

“Do you not want to talk to your parents?”

“I don’t know what the hell I would say. They treated me like dirt. I was always on my own. When they went on vacation, they left me behind. And when I turned eight, they started leaving me alone for days on end. I took care of myself. So, when they wanted me out, it wasn’t hard. I was working already, and I had some money saved up. I had a feeling they weren’t going to let me stay with them for very long, so I saved to get out as soon as I could. I’ve lived here ever since. I know it’s small, but with my two jobs, I was able to still save and start my business.”

“I’m sorry. That had to be a shitty end to the summer after everything that happened with you and me, and then your parents on top of it.”

She shrugged again. “It is what it is. There are plenty of people who have had worse upbringings than me.”

“What do you want to do with your life? I know you want to design clothes. But you don’t want to stay here in Jubilee, do you?”

“I don’t know, Chris. Until a few days ago, I didn’t think I really had any other choices. I definitely don’t have enough saved to just pick up and move to New York or L.A. I don’t know where I want to end up. I love Jubilee. My parents being here is the only downside. The last time we ran into each other, they pretended not to know me. Who does that to their child? Or anyone? It’s a good thing they found each other, or they would’ve been miserable human beings all alone instead of miserable human beings together.” She chewed on some popcorn. “What about you? Last I knew, your father was tormenting you about the family business. You were his last hope.”

“I started working for him against my better judgment.”

She shook her head. “You said you would never do that.”

“I went to college and I wasn’t quite ready
to go public with what I had. I couldn’t get cut off. I needed revenue for my projects. It’s been good experience. But I don’t want to do it anymore. And one of my projects is taking off.”

  “Yeah? Which one?”

I launched into an explanation of the characters and worlds I was building for a massively multi-player online game. It would be like World of Warcraft, but it was completely different. And innovative.

“It sounds incredible. I don’t play video games too much. But I have an Xbox One. I love to play Fable III.”

“You’d probably like the game we’re developing.”

  “What’s it called?”

  “Legions of Doom.”

  “That sounds super badass.”

And just like that the television went ignored. We talked through the evening and into the night, until she was dozing off curled up against me.

She kept trying to talk and then would drift off.

“Just sleep, Cin. We’ll finish talking tomorrow.”

My dick wanted another round or two of sex, but it seemed to be a constant with her in the room. But I was more than happy to just have her in my arms. I followed her into sleep, holding her close.

  * * *

I groaned out loud in my sleep and it woke me. And then I realized my cock was throbbing. I looked down to find the blankets pulled off us and Cassia’s mouth around my dick.

“Fuck!” I bucked my hips and came instantly.

Cassia sealed her lips over my dick and sucked me dry. I sagged back against the bed and stared at the ceiling trying to catch my breath.

“You kept poking me in the ass with that thing, so I had to help you out.”

I laughed. “Jesus. Thanks for the hand. Or should I say mouth?”

She giggled. “You came pretty fast once you were awake.”

“Uh, yeah, that was fucking hot. Shit. I didn’t mean to blow my load so fast.”

“I think it’s hot that you got that hot.” She kissed her way up my chest, until she was almost nose to nose with me. “I can’t decide which I like more—if I like waking you up with oral, or if I like you waking me up.”
