  "XAIRIN!"

Topher walked in, with his arm around Xairin's left shoulder. "Where's your boyfriend?"

"I go on tour tomorrow, he went back to his pack's tribal lands, I'm supposed to text him as soon as my tour is over."

"He really seems like a nice guy," Topher said.

Before they got too far away from the door, Topher's date, Adam Caulfield walked in. Xairin had never really met him. Topher turned around. "Adam honey, this is Xairin."

Xairin looked at Topher and remembered him talking about Adam, and that Adam was like Topher. He winked. He extended his hand to the handsome gentlemen standing there in the business suit. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Adam."

"Pleasure is all mine, Topher holds you in pretty high regard. He talks about you constantly."

Xairin rolled his eyes and grinned. "He's told me about you too. I'm glad that Topher found someone that he can truly be himself with. I know how that feels. Being able to be yourself with someone. I'm so happy for both of you."

Adam looked at Topher. Topher shrugged. "I don't keep secrets from family and Xairin's family."

Xairin smiled and leaned in. "Don't worry, lips are sealed."

Xairin took Adam and Topher over to introduce them to his Grandmother and even decided to introduce them to Cecilia. The act made Cecilia teary-eyed. "So, you're my son's other best friend. It is very nice to meet you, Mr. Haze."

  "Please, call me Topher."

Peggy and Justin came into the room, both wearing attire to match the occasion. Peggy was in a stunning white sparkling gown, while Justin was sucking it up, and had traded his gothic attire, for a black suit, red tie, and dress shoes. Peggy even made him brush his hair, slicking it back. The two were amazing to look at. What really set them apart was a young vampire clinging to Peggy's arm. A boy that couldn't have been more than thirteen or so. Peggy walked him over to introduce him to Sara. Xairin was standing nearby. "Sara, I want you to meet mine and Justin's new son."

Sara looked at them with a confused look. "Son?"

Peggy's voice became giddy. "We adopted! This is our new son, Reese."

Xairin looked over and saw the dark-headed kid standing there dressed in a suit. He could tell the young man wasn't used to wearing anything that fancy. Hearing the name Reese, he asked. "Reese Lawndale?"

Reese nodded. Xairin walked over to shake his hand. "I'm so happy to meet you, Reese."

The very boy that Rory wanted to adopt, Xairin had set into motion a second chance at finding a home. The boy was now Peggy and Justin's son, and also, that meant he was part of Xairin's extended family. Xairin's heart grew lighter; it fluttered with happiness. Xairin had avenged his friend and saved the boy that Rory was trying to keep. It was a moment like this that had Xairin tearfully happy.

Reese looked up at Xairin with a tearful look. "You're Mr. Winstead's friend."

Xairin nodded. "Yes. Yes, I am."

"Peggy and Justin said, you knew him, and reached out to make sure I found a home after Mr. Winstead's death. Thank you for helping me get out of that boy’s home."

Xairin smiled and reached out to hug the kid. "I'm a hugger. Welcome to our family Reese."

Reese wasn't used to people hugging him this much. His life as a scavenger, and being an outcast, had made him accustomed to no one really loving him. The boy was overwhelmed with this new abundance. He was tearful. "Thank you, Mr. Thunder."

Reese smiled. Peggy grabbed him after Xairin hugged him and gave him another hug. "Come on, let me introduce you to Ethan."

Cecilia walked up to Xairin and watched as Peggy waltzed off with Reese in one hand, and Justin holding the other. Cecilia watched them as she spoke. "So, how does Jason feel about adopting?"

Xairin turned around quickly. "Woah! let's get through a year first and have a ring on this finger before we talk about that." He turned around and watched the kid smiling as Peggy introduced him to Ethan. "But, it's not a bad question to ask him when I get back, I guess."

Outside Ethan's mansion, a shadowy figure hid in the bushes, arming something. There were several clicking noises, the sounds of metal locking together. The figure was hooded, wearing a cloak. They slowly rose upward after all the clicking noises had stopped. Something was lifted to the figure's right shoulder. It was a shoulder cannon, an older model, crude, but an effective deadly weapon. A blue button was pressed on its side as the figure held the cannon steady. A loud boom sounded. A pair of twin rockets shot through the air. Ethan's mansion exploded...
