“You’re killing me, Gabs,” he groans, ripping his lips from my own. He adjusts his position until he’s kneeling between my legs. Chase pushes up the oversized T-shirt I stole from his closet, exposing my flat abdomen. His lips hover just over my flesh where our baby is nestled. “God, you are so fucking beautiful. You take my breath away.”

I watch as he runs his lips over my lower stomach, murmuring soft declarations of love. To me or to the baby, I’m not sure who, but it doesn’t matter. Tears fill my eyes as he gently strokes his thumb over my belly. My eyes flutter closed as the sensations of his touch send fire through my veins.

  “Chase,” I mumble.

“Sweet Gabrielle,” he whispers, kissing my abdomen and pushing the shirt up as he goes. His tongue sweeps over my left nipple and I almost come up off the bed. Chase holds me in place as he shifts to lick on the other. I realize I’m already close to orgasm, and I could probably come by just his mouth on my nipples. “You taste so fucking good.”

Then he’s moving. He helps pull my shirt up and over my head. The cool air conditioning kisses my skin, but it’s quickly heated by his touch. His hands are everywhere, running up my sides and then caressing my neck. My shorts are gone a few moments later too, followed quickly by his own shirt and shorts.

My leg hitches up and over his hip as he positions himself at my entrance. “You’re going to have to be quiet, baby,” he whispers as he slowly pushes inside me, filling me completely in one long stroke. The groan that pulls from my lips is loud and uncontrollable, and Chase silences me with his mouth. “Did you hear what I said, Gabrielle?” he asks, slowly pulling out before thrusting in once more.

“How can I not hear you? You won’t shut up,” I sass, grabbing his ass and squeezing.

Chase chuckles and stops his movements completely. I try to pull him back, desperately needing to feel him completely inside me, but he holds steady and doesn’t move. His eyes are full of humor as he gazes down at me, still refusing to move. Deciding to play along with the torture, I squeeze my internal muscles, gripping the head of his cock. I can tell the moment he feels the grasp, as his jaw tightens and his eyes narrow.

  “Stop that,” he says.

I, of course, do not stop. Instead, I squeeze again. “Stop what?” I ask innocently as he slowly pushes forward until he’s fully seated.

“You play dirty,” he groans as I give his cock another hug with my vagina.

“You like me dirty,” I quip, reaching up and grabbing him by the neck. I pull him down until I feel his full weight on top of me and his lips devour mine.

It doesn’t take long before I’m teetering on the edge of an epic orgasm. My muscles are taut as he pistons his hips, stretching and filling me. I feel my orgasm sweep in, racing through my blood. Chase’s lips slam into mine as he follows me, releasing himself into my body.

After a few long seconds, he turns, taking me with him and snuggling me into his chest. “You most certainly were not quiet,” he gasps, still trying to catch his breath.

“That’s not my fault,” I tell him, feeling the weight of exhaustion on my body.

“No? Whose fault was it?” he asks, kissing my neck tenderly and resting his hand on my bare stomach.

“That would be your magical cock’s fault.”

His laughter fills the room. “Well, my cock appreciates the compliment.”

I feel him relax around me and know that sleep is calling. “Chase?”

  “Yeah, Gabs?”

  “I love you.”

His arms tighten. “I love you too, babe.”

As I drift off to sleep, images of Chase and a little blue-eyed baby boy play through my mind. This time, it’s not Milo I see so vividly in the picture, but another baby.

  Our baby.

  Chapter 18

  Chase

“Are you going to open it?” Colt is standing in the middle of my kitchen with the envelope in his hands. The lab called earlier today telling him the paternity results are in. He’s been home for a week today, and already he’s attached to Milo. I can see it in his eyes. He’s worried what the results might say. We all know he’s the father. Milo is a Callahan; just by looking at him you can tell. However, I know how he feels. I was in his shoes, certain he was mine, and then crushed when the results stated otherwise.

“Yeah,” he says, not moving to open the envelope that confirms the future of him and his son.

I was devastated when I found out I wasn’t Milo’s father. However, that was short-lived when I realized he’s my nephew. The little guy who has captured my heart is still my family. And now, my child and my nephew get to grow up together. To say that I’m ecstatic that Gabby and I are having a baby is an understatement. For so long, I wanted her, and now… now she’s mine, and we’re having a baby. The only thing left to do is give her my last name. Something I plan to do sooner rather than later.

“Colt.” He glances up at me. “Hand me the envelope.” His arm stretches out and I take it from his hands. Sliding my finger under the flap, I break the seal and pull out the single sheet of paper. My eyes scan until I reach the part that says he’s a 99.9 percent match.

“Damn it, Chase. What does it say?” he says, running his fingers through his hair.

“If you were so eager, you should have opened it yourself,” I goad.

“Hey,” my beautiful fiancée says, entering the room. Milo is in her arms. She watched him while Colt and I ran to the lab to pick up the results.

“Hey, baby.” I snake my arm out and pull her in close. “Look what I have.” I show her the piece of paper.

Her eyes scan it and I know from the way her face lights up, she’s got to the actual result. “Colton, congratulations, Daddy.” Stepping out of my arms, she walks toward my brother and hands him his son. “Go to Daddy,” she says, her voice cracking.

“He’s mine?” Colt asks. There’s awe in his voice. Like he can’t truly believe the tiny human in his arms is his.

“He gets his looks from his Uncle Chase. Lucky little guy,” I tease.

“Hey, buddy,” Colton whispers softly. “Daddy loves you.”

I like to think I’m a man’s man. You know, not overly emotional, watching sports and drinking beer kind of man. However, when I hear my big brother tell his son—this tiny little man who has also stolen my heart—that he loves him, not gonna lie, I have to swallow back my own emotions.

Colt looks up with tears in his eyes. “Thank you.” He lifts Milo and places a kiss on the top of his head. “Thank you for taking such great care of him. For helping me learn, for guiding me. I want to do right by him.” He stares down at his son with wonder in his eyes.

“Congratulations, brother,” I choke out. Gabby comes to me, wrapping her arms around my waist. I hold her close as excitement builds for the family we’re creating.

“You too. It’s pretty cool that our kids are going to be able to grow up together.”

  “What’s next?” I ask him.

“I started my discharge process today.”

“Really?” I ask, surprised. “I thought you were going to wait until you got the results.” Our kids are going to grow up together, and that’s something I never thought would happen. Colt was married to the military, a lifer, and now this tiny little human has brought him home. Milo is our miracle in more ways than one.

“I was, but I felt it, you know? I felt that he was mine, and you were a 25 percent match, so he had to be, right? Besides, seeing you all domesticated reminded me about all I’ve been missing out on. I’ve served my country, but now I want time for me. I want to raise my son, maybe find a nice woman and settle down.”

“Who are you and what have you done with my brother?” I ask, truly shocked at his revelation.

“You two make it look easy.”

“That’s because I’m awesome,” Gabby quips.

Colt chuckles. “You’ve certainly met your match, Chase.”

“Don’t I know it.” I smile down at Gabby. “Yo
u’re welcome here as long as you want. I know it’s overwhelming with a new baby. Maybe get into a routine before you start looking for a place.”

  “I don’t want to impose.”

“You’re not,” Gabby speaks up. “We want you here. We’ll help you through the transition. We had each other, and it’s hard. There’s no reason for you to do it all on your own.”

“Thanks.” He nods. “For a little while maybe. I want to get through all this discharge stuff, find a job, and then I’ll look for a place. If you guys are positive it’s okay to stay a little while.”

“Positive,” Gabby and I say at the same time.

Colt nods. “Thank you. For everything.”

“We’re family,” Gabby says confidently, and I want to kiss the hell out of her for it.

“We are.” Colt looks up at us and smiles. “I’m going to try bath time on my own tonight. You guys are going to be here, right?” he asks.

“Yes. Just yell if you need us.” With that, he gives another nod and walks out of the kitchen.

“So, what smells so good?” I ask Gabby, pulling her close to my chest. I can never seem to have her close enough.

  “It’s chicken and rice casserole.”

“Is that the same stuff Gwen makes?” I ask as my stomach grumbles, just at the thought.

“Yep. It’s ready if you’re hungry now or we can wait on Colton?”

“Now. He can eat when he’s ready. Besides, who knows how long bath time is going to take.”

“Chase,” she scolds playfully. “That’s your big brother. You were the same way if I recall.”

“Oh, trust me, I remember. I just don’t think me starving is going to help him any. If anything, having a full belly in case I need to jump in and save him or give him a break after is just what the doctor ordered.”

“What kind of doctor are you going to?” she sasses. She turns out of my arms and begins to gather bowls for dinner.

Stepping in behind her, I align my body with hers and press my lips to her neck. “The love doctor,” I whisper. How I say it without laughing is beyond me.

“No. Just no.” She chuckles, pushing her ass back to try and shove me away. It does nothing but turn me on.

“Come here.” I wrap my arm around her waist and lift her in the air. We’re both laughing as she tries to get free.

“I can’t leave you two alone not even for five minutes.” Colt shakes his head and grins.

“Hey,” Gabby greets him as I set her back on her feet, keeping her close. “Looks like you made it out alive,” she teases.

“Yep. Bath time was a success. Now it’s time for a bottle and lights out for this little guy.”

“I made dinner. Why don’t you let me hold him while you and Chase eat?”

“You don’t have to do that.”

“I know, but soon enough, you’re going to be a one-man show. Not that we won’t be there to help, but when you’re living on your own, these kinds of breaks are few and far between. Besides, I miss him.” She doesn’t give him time to say no. Stepping out of my hold, she takes Milo from his arms.

I watch her as she lifts him to her face and breathes in his baby smell. Yeah, a few weeks ago I would have called her crazy. In fact, I’m pretty sure I did tell Harrison he was a few fries short of a Happy Meal when he told me the same thing.

“Come on, buddy. Let’s go catch up while Daddy and Uncle Chase eat dinner.” She disappears into the living room.

“You gonna nail that down?” my brother asks. “Set a date and all that.”

  “Yep.”

  “What are you waiting for?”

“Her ring to come in.” He raises his eyebrows in question. “I had to have it sized, and I added an engraving.”

“Look at you, my little brother going all soft.”

“Only for Gabby. Well, and Milo, and our baby.”

“How do you feel about that? Being a dad for real this time?” he asks, taking a big bite of his chicken and rice.

“I don’t know that I can find the words to describe it.”

  “Yeah,” he agrees.

“It helps, you know? I thought Milo was mine. I had accepted it and grown to love the fact that I was a father. In such a short amount of time, that little man of yours stole our hearts.”

“She was sticking around, no matter what?”

“Yeah. I admit that first night, I begged her to stay, not because I needed her help but because I’ve wanted her for years and she was finally mine. We were finally on the same page and then bam, the doorbell rings, and suddenly I’m responsible for an infant.”

“She’s one of the good ones.”

“She is. Now we just need to find you one, and we can all live happily ever after.”

He shrugs. “Sure, one day. Right now, I need to figure out what I need to do to get full custody, find a job, and a place to live.”

“You have a place to live as long as you need it.”

  “Thanks, brother.”

We make small talk about nothing really important while we finish eating. I miss my brother. They say everything happens for a reason, and I’m starting to believe that. Milo made me see what I want out of my life, my life with Gabby and our baby. More babies. He brought my brother home, for good. In a way, he brought me and Gabby closer together. We know we make a good team, and I can’t wait to experience more sleepless nights and Peegates with her. Milo might just be the best thing that ever happened to both of us.

It’s Saturday afternoon, and tonight is date night. We’ve only ever been on one date without Milo, so tonight I’m pulling out all the stops. I’m spoiling my girl.

“Why won’t you tell me where we’re going?” Gabby asks. We’re lounging on the couch while some movie plays in the background that neither one of us is paying attention to. That’s my fault because I can’t seem to keep my hands or my lips off her.

  “It’s a surprise.”

“But I promise it will still be great if you just tell me.” She rubs her hands over my cock where it presses painfully against the zipper of my jeans.

“Not happening, Gabs. The car will be here at six. That’s all I’m telling you.”

  “Car?”

  “Yes.”

“Why a car? Where are we going, Chase?”

“Because I want my hands on you the entire night.” Her mouth forms this cute little O, and I can’t help but grin. It’s not often you can shock my Gabby speechless.

“You better go get ready,” I say, forcing myself to pull away from her.

“But I don’t even know what to wear.”

“You’re going to look beautiful in anything.”

“Chase!” She smacks my arm lightly. “I’m being real here. At least tell me what you’re wearing.”

“Fine. I have some black dress pants, and a black button-down.”

  “Fancy?”

“Just be you, Gabs. The car will be here in two hours. Now go get ready.” I kiss her on the corner of her mouth before standing. If I don’t pull myself away from her, neither one of us will be ready. I need this night to be epic.

“Fine.” She stands and saunters off toward our bedroom.

  Our bedroom.

I never could have imagined that this is how everything would turn out. Gabby living here, and pregnant with our baby. It’s as if everything I wanted, everything I never pushed for all these years, is finally falling into place.

Pulling up my email, I answer a few messages from clients, and then decide I better get ready as well. I already put my clothes in the spare bedroom, knowing that if I was anywhere near her in a state of undress, this night would have a different ending. When I bought this house, it was hard to think about it being full, but here we are, three of the four bedrooms in use. I say three, because our baby needs a room, and Colt and Milo can have theirs as long as they need it. Honestly, I like having them here. I’ve missed my brother.

Sometime later, I’m standing in the living room looking ou
t the window. The limo pulled in about ten minutes ago. I texted the driver, letting him know we’ll be a few more minutes.

“Wow, and I can only see you from the back.” Gabby’s voice greets my ears.

Slowly I turn to face her. “Fuck, you’re beautiful.” She’s wearing a short black dress and black heels. Her hair is pulled up on top of her head, and her eyes are sparkling. She’s glowing. Radiant. I’ve heard of pregnancy glow but could never see it. Maybe it’s because she’s mine, because part of me is growing inside her. Whatever it is, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

She blushes. “Thanks. Chase, you look hot.”

My legs carry me to her. Bending, I place a kiss on her cheek. “I’m a sure thing, Gabs. No need to butter me up.”

  “Stop it.” She laughs.

“How are you feeling?” Earlier, she was nauseated, but she seems fine now.

“I’m good. I’m a little worried about where we’re going to eat. I hope I can handle it.”

“Say the word and we’ll leave.”

“I’m sure it will be fine.”

“Shall we?” I ask, offering her my arm. I’m glad Colt is at Mom and Dad’s with Milo. No way he’d ever let me live this down. Not that I care. I’m making this a night to remember for her. At least that’s the plan.

“I can’t believe you got a limo.” Gabby runs her hands over the plush leather of the seats.

I hit the button that separates us from the driver and watch as the tinted glass shields us. “How else was I supposed to be able to do this?” I ask, sliding my hand up her bare thigh. My hand slides under her dress. Softly, I brush my fingers over her panties, teasing us both.

“Chase,” she murmurs. “Not sure if you’ve ever heard of pregnancy hormones, but if not, let me fill you in. You can’t control them. The smallest thing like seeing your baby daddy all snazzed up can set you off. This—” She bites down on her bottom lip as my thumb slides under the thin piece of lace and gently traces her clit. “—is not helping,” she pants.

“Let me help you,” I whisper, my lips close to her ear as I kiss down her neck. Slowly, painfully so, I continue to massage her clit. Her nails dig into my arm and her breathing grows heavy.
