  For a while they all watched as the sun rose, the light illuminating the clouds in a golden radiant hue.

  ‘I want this,’ she said. ‘This is what I've always wanted.’

  ‘Can this work though?’ said Jacob.

  ‘If we want it to, it can,’ said Rose.

  ‘Do we want it to?’ said Alex.

  Rose didn't say anything, she didn't need to answer. They knew what she wanted.

  ‘I'm willing to give it a go,’ said Jacob.

  They both turned to look at Alex, who looked away, hand on his chin, elbow resting on his knee.

  Rose held her breath, waiting for him to respond.

  ‘I think I might need a little more persuasion,’ said Alex, turning back and winking.

  Rose smiled broadly, she reached under the blanket with her hand and searched between his legs and then her eyes widened.

  ‘Oh, good morning,’ she said, laughing. ‘I don't think you’re going to need much convincing at all.’

  Jacob pushed open the door to the hotel room and stepped inside. The lights were off, but the glow that shone in through the windows illuminated the space in a swathe of neon pinks, purples and greens.

  The room was high up in the city, and the view was humbling, the door slowly swung closed as he walked across to the window and looked out and down at the streets hundreds of meters below.

  In the distance Tokyo tower shone like a beacon of light, its glow emanating out across the clouds which lay low above the city, beginning to gather and spread out beneath them.

  His focus shifted and he watched in the reflection of the window as Alex walked into the room behind him.

  ‘Didn't want to turn the lights on then?’ he said, drop
ping this bag down next to Jacob’s.

  ‘Didn't want to ruin the view.’

  ‘Oh wow,’ said Alex, walking over to stand next to his friend. ‘Reminds me of the Alps.’

  Jacob nodded.

  ‘I miss her,’ he said.

  ‘Me too,’ said Alex.

  They both stood staring out of the window for a moment, thinking back.

  ‘I've only been gone a week,’ said Rose.

  Both men jumped and turned.

  ‘What the fuck?’ said Alex. ‘Rose?’

  Jacob looked toward the middle of the room as his eyes adjusted to the darkness.

  There, laying on the bed was Rose, but it was too dark to make her out properly.

  ‘When did you get here?’ said Alex.

  ‘About four hours ago,’ she laughed. ‘Got a flight over from the Gotjawal Forest in South Korea. I've spent a lot of time soaking wet, trudging through wetland and reading some very smutty books.’

  Alex was moving towards the light switch, but Rose stopped him.

  ‘Wait,’ she said.

  He watched as her supple silhouette leaned across the silk bed sheets and clicked on the small side light attached to the wall beside the huge queen sized bed.

  ‘Oh, shit,’ said Alex.

  Jacob's eyes widened.

  Rose was dressed in a red lace chemise, and thigh high stockings with suspenders that clipped onto a pair of small lacy knickers. As the two men watched, Rose parted her legs to reveal that they were crotchless.

  Alex bit his knuckle and exhaled. Jacob just stared, his mouth wide open.

  ‘Welcome to Tokyo, boys,’ said Rose, smiling. ‘I hope you've enjoyed your travels. I was hoping I might be your reward.’

  Alex and Jacob smiled as they walked towards her, kneeling onto the bed one after the other.

  As they did, Rose saw that same look that always thrilled her and filled her with a mixture of fear and intense arousal.
