“Thank you for tonight. I couldn’t have done it without you,” says Lauren as she sits in the passenger seat of my SUV.

“You are welcome. Anything for you. We have to take care of family.”

  Lauren smiles and kisses me.

  “I’m sorry about your dad.”

Lauren says, “Me too. I’m going to miss him.”

“I’ll be right in, go check on your mom.”

Lauren exits my SUV and goes into our house.

I press the call button on my radio one time.

  BEEP!

I wait for an answer as I sit in my SUV.

My nerves are working overtime as I impatiently wait for a reply over the radio.

“What’s up Ryan?” asks Phil through the radio.

I reply through the radio, “Just checking in.”

Phil replies through the radio, “We are about to enter the neighborhood now. Brad is in position on the beach, and we are about to make our attack on the neighborhood. I’ll radio you back when I have an update.”

I reply over the radio, “Okay, good luck.”

Phil looks at Shaun, Matt, and Jon.

William and Bruce walk over to Phil and Shaun.

“We are all set gentlemen. We will be entering the neighborhood next. Our scouts just reported that no one is at the main entrance gate right now,” says William to Phil.

“We are ready. Brad and his group are ready on the beach also,” says Phil to William.

“We will lead the way into the neighborhood. We don’t know the exact house, but I’ll talk with my scouts before we enter the neighborhood. Stay sharp, stay alert, and be ready for anything,” says William as he looks at Phil, Shaun, and Matt.

Phil looks at Shaun, Matt, Bobby G, and Jon.

“We are ready for this. I will drive my SUV and Shaun will take his jeep in,” says Phil.

Phil, Bobby G, and Jon get into Phil’s SUV.

Shaun and Matt get into Shaun’s jeep.

Phil looks at Bobby G and says, “Stay hidden Bob. We have no idea what type of situation we will be running into. Take cover and stay hidden.”

“Yes, sir. I got it. I don’t plan on getting shot today,” says Bobby G.

The caravan led by William exits the parking lot and starts their drive towards Jacob’s neighborhood.

Phil follows behind a car being driven by a Warrior.

Shaun follows Phil and a truck that is being driven by a Warrior is behind Shaun’s jeep.

The caravan stops in the middle of a street.

The street is dark and the only light on the street is coming from the caravan vehicle headlights.

“I think we are here,” says Phil to Jon.

Shaun looks out his front windshield and tries to see why William stopped.

“What’s up Shaun?” asks Phil over the radio.

“Hold on, I think we are about to move again,” replies Shaun over the radio.

William drives through the main entrance gate of Jacob’s neighborhood.

The rest of the vehicles follow behind William.

“House number 784 is Jacob’s!” shouts William over the radio.

Shaun turns down a side street.

  Phil drives down another street.

William drives straight down the main road of the neighborhood.

“I think this is where Jacob brought me when he kidnapped me,” says Bobby G.

William shouts over the radio, “We are outside of Jacob’s house! It’s on the main road! Number 784!”

“Be right there,” says a male Warrior over the radio.

Shaun drives his jeep down a side street and makes it back to the main street of the neighborhood.

Phil parks his SUV across the street from house number 784.

Shaun sees Phil’s SUV and parks his jeep a couple houses down.

“Is anyone living here? Did you see anyone around here? Any lights?” asks Jon to Phil and Bobby G.

William and Bruce walk towards the front door of house 784.

Four Warriors enter the backyard of the house.

Shaun and Matt exit Shaun’s jeep.

Phil, Jon, and Bobby G exit from Phil’s SUV.

The guys look around the neighborhood, and they don’t see any people or lights on around the homes or streets of the neighborhood.

“Something isn’t right here,” says Shaun.

“Yeah, it’s way too quiet,” says Phil.

William signals his men to enter the house.

A large male Warrior kicks open the front door of house 784.

William, Bruce, and several Warriors enter house 784.

Phil and Shaun run towards house 784.

Jon and Matt walk down the street.

Bobby G looks at the surrounding homes.

Phil and Shaun enter house 784.

  “Clear!” shouts a female Warrior.

“Upstairs is clear!” shouts another male Warrior.

“The garage and backyard are clear,” says a female Warrior.

Phil and Shaun walk into the kitchen of house 784.

Shaun sees a piece of paper sitting on the kitchen counter.

Phil sees Shaun pick up the piece of paper.

“What does it say?” asks Phil.

  Shaun replies, “It’s from DK.”

  Shaun hands Phil the letter.

Phil reads the letter, “Ryan, William, and to whom it may concern, I have taken Jacob and his group away from here. I do not know how long we will be away for, but we will return. Be ready for a fight. I am on your side. DK”

  “What the fuck?” shouts Shaun.

William walks over to Phil and Shaun.

  Phil hands William the letter.

  William reads the letter.

“It may be a trap, but no one is here,” says William.

Shaun and Phil exit the house.

  “Is he dead?” asks Jon.

“No, he’s not here. No one is,” answers Phil.

An old short Chinese man walks down the middle of the street towards Phil, Shaun, and Jon.

  “Gun!” shouts Shaun.

Shaun points his rifle at the old man and shouts, “Drop it!”

The old man freezes in fear and isn’t sure what to do.

“Who are you? Where is Jacob?” shouts Phil at the old man.

The old man tries to speak but he’s too scared to form a complete thought.

The old man is petrified and not sure what to do.

William walks out of the house with the DK letter in his hand.

Bobby G walks over to William.

The old man that Phil and Shaun are talking to recognizes William.

The old man points his gun at William and shouts several words that Phil and Shaun don’t understand.

“Drop the gun, or I’ll drop you!” shouts Shaun at the old man.

The old man is drawn towards William and takes a small step forward.

  BANG!

Shaun shoots the old man in the head with a clean headshot.

Everyone stops talking and looks at Shaun.

  William looks over at Shaun.

“He wouldn’t listen and was pointing his gun at William. I had to put him down,” says Shaun as he looks over at William.

“You did good. You did the right thing,” says Phil to Shaun.

Bruce walks over to the old man that Shaun just shot.

Phil looks at the old man and isn’t sure what to make of the situation.

“Do you know him, Bruce?” asks Phil.

Bruce replies, “No, I haven’t seen him before.”

William sends his group out to check the streets and homes around the neighborhood.

Bobby G reads the DK letter.

“This has to be a trap,” says Shaun.

Phil replies, “No one is here though. They left. The letter says they are away from here.”

Shaun looks at the dead old man and wonders why he came at them.

Phil picks up his radio and asks, “Br
ad? Any movement on the beach?”

Brad replies over the radio, “No movement here, just a couple of dead ones.”

“Jacob isn’t here. No one is here actually,” says Phil to Brad over the radio.

Phil asks over the radio, “Ryan, you awake?”

I reply over the radio, “Yeah, I’m up. Is it done?”

“No, Jacob isn’t here. No one is here,” replies Phil over the radio.

I ask over the radio, “What do we do now?”

Phil replies over the radio, “Good question, what do we do now?”
