“You ready for me?” His voice was like gravel and the sound of his desire raised goosebumps all over her.
“God, yes.” She breathed, wrapping her arms around his neck and taking his mouth in a blistering kiss. She raised herself up on her knees, straddling his hips, as he positioned himself under her. She sank down and felt the head of his cock, hot and hard, at her entrance. She bore down and he slid in the merest of inches. He groaned and she whimpered.
She sounded needy, desperate, and she didn’t care. She was desperate. Once her body had adjusted to his size, she sank lower, taking in more and more until he was seated fully inside her. She moaned at the feel of him, so big and so hard. She was impossibly full.
Connor growled and claimed her mouth as he pumped his hips upward, making short gliding thrusts that had her insides turning to jelly. She began to move, wanting more-- faster, harder. She began moving in counterpoint, deepening his strokes.
His pace increased and she followed his lead until they were both sweating and moaning together.
“So perfect.” He rasped, gripping her hips hard and slamming her down onto him. She gasped and rode him harder. She could feel everything tightening like a spring, her body gearing up for release.
Her climax washed over her with a sudden intensity and she screamed his name, over and over as he continued to fuck her. His thrusts grew frantic and he grunted as she continued to spasm around him, still coming. He threw his head back and came with a roar, filling her with jet after jet of warmth.
She squeezed him, wanting to prolong his pleasure as he had prolonged hers.
“Lex.” He croaked, shuddering again and giving up the last of his seed.
Alexandra collapsed onto his chest and he wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly. They were still joined and she had no desire to move just yet. She felt safe and warm and treasured, especially when Connor kissed the top of her head and ran his fingers through her hair.
“Mmmm.” Was all she could manage. She felt weightless-- like the only thing keeping her from floating away was Connor’s arms around her. She had never known it could be like this. No panic, no fear, no anxiety. Just the two of them and their desire. It had seemed… natural.
“I’m knackered.” Connor chuckled.
“Mmm.”
“Can you speak, lass?”
“Uh-huh.”
“Pumped you speechless, did I?” He chuckled.
“Mm-hmm.” She loved that his accent got thicker when he was relaxed. Or angry. Or aroused. She could just sit for hours and listen to him talk, especially with her head pressed to his chest so she could feel the rumble of his deep voice. It was like the throaty purr of a fast car or the heavy bass of club music, she could just feel it in her bones.
“Come on. Ti bed wi ya.” He drawled, lifting her off of him. She whimpered as he slipped free of her body, but he shushed her and lifted her as if she weighed nothing. He settled one arm under her knees and the other around her back and tucked her head against his shoulder.
Alexandra sighed as he carried her upstairs and laid her on her bed.
“Wait here.” He said softly. He returned a moment later with a warm washcloth and gently cleaned her girly bits before cleaning himself and tossing the cloth in the hamper. He climbed into bed, spooning her, and pulled the covers up around them.
“Sleep now.” He whispered into her hair. He kissed her shoulder and she wanted to purr. He wrapped an arm tightly around her middle, holding her close to his chest and she felt his breath tickling the back of her neck. Her eyes drooped and she allowed them to close. She drifted off in the warmth of Connor’s arms, listening to the sound of his even breathing and marveling at how safe she felt with him.
CHAPTER FOURTEEN
“Mornin’.”
“Good morning.” Alexandra smiled. Connor looked ungodly handsome first thing in the morning. And the kisses he was trailing along her shoulder and up her neck were already making her tingle all over. His hands skimmed her body almost idly, as if he just couldn’t stop touching her. It was a continuous gentle caress down her arm, over her hip and up her back.
The way he stroked over her heated skin made her shiver, but it wasn’t purely sexual. It was tender and almost reverent. She felt… worshipped. He continued placing small kisses along her shoulder and her neck. Back and forth in a hypnotic rhythm.
He chuckled against her neck and she opened eyes she didn’t recall closing. She cleared her throat and felt a blush steal over her face.
“Did you sleep well?” She asked, cringing even as she said it.
Brilliant.
He laughed louder and she buried her face in the pillow to hide her awkwardness. It had been so long since she’d had to deal with the morning after and even then there usually wasn’t much to be embarrassed about. They were men she’d been dating for a while whom she’d had alright sex with in the dark. They weren’t gorgeous gods of sex whom she’d fucked on her couch with all the lights on after knowing them for a week.
She assumed this was why people who had casual sex didn’t spend the night. No awkward morning after for them. This isn’t casual sex. She tried to remind herself. Was it? What Connor said last night made it seem relatively serious, right? They were at least exclusive. She thought. Fuck!
“Don’t.” Connor said firmly. She risked a glance up and his face was serious.
“What?” She asked, trying to seem casual.
“You’re panicking, love. Don’t.” He kissed her on the forehead and hugged her tighter. He rolled and pulled her with him until she was lying on his chest. She shifted, straddling his hips, and was surprised to find him hard. Her heart hammered in her chest and her breathing picked up. He gave her a devilish grin.
“Sorry.”
“No, you’re not.” She laughed, though she still blushed.
“God, your blush does me in.” He growled, pulling her down and nipping at the skin beneath her ear.
“Really?” She squeaked. He flexed his hips to prove his point.
“Yeah.” He released her and settled back. “But, there are a few things we need to settle after last night.
Alexandra swallowed. This is where it all goes to shit.
“Relax.” He said, running his hand up and down her back, soothing her. She forced her body to relax and waited, trying not to assume the worst.
“First, do you remember what I said to you last night?”
“Yes.” She said cautiously.
“Good.” He smiled. “I meant every word. You need anything, you just tell me.”
She blinked at him. She didn’t know where to start.
“So, this means we’re…”
“Together.” He frowned. “Exclusive. Dating. Whatever you want to call it.”
“What would you call it?” She asked.
He laughed and she couldn’t help but smile.
“You’re mine. I’m yours.” He grinned. “That’s what matters. Everything else is semantics.” He added with a shrug.
Relieved and more than a little thrilled she smiled. “So you did the whole ‘fake it ‘til you make it’ cliche, huh?”
He gave her a quizzical look.
“You were pretending to be my boyfriend and now you actually are.”
He thought about it for a second and then gave her a wry smile. “I did at that.” He leaned up and kissed her, a quick smooch thankfully since she was sure she had terrible morning breath. “Now, second thing.” He continued. “I know you’re not keen on me making decisions unilaterally--”
Alexandra raised an eyebrow. He rolled his eyes at her, but smiled.
“That means without consulting you.”
“I know what the word means, douchebag.” Alexandra smacked his arm.
“Right, you of the fancy law degree. Anyway,” He went on. “I wanted to let you know that I made a decision, strictly in a professional capacity, that I would have made in any situation like yours.” He was more serious now. She was worri
ed at his change of tone, but she nodded. “I’m having a security system installed this afternoon.”
“What?”
“The building isn’t secure. You have ground floor windows that aren’t alarmed and only a deadbolt on the front and back doors. Any protectee who didn’t already have one would be getting one within a week of the start of the job.”
She scrutinized his face for any hint of deception, or that she was receiving special treatment.
“And for the record, I called our guys and made the appointment last Friday afternoon, before you got out of work. It’s not personal.”
“Okay.” She sighed. “Thank you for explaining.”
“Besides, the firms paying for it so why not?” He winked and gave her a wicked grin. She laughed despite herself and before she knew it, Connor was kissing her senseless. Morning breath completely forgotten, she wrapped her arms around his neck and returned his kiss with everything she had. He groaned and cupped her bottom, stroking and kneading as his erection grew beneath her.
“Shower.” He growled, sitting up. She giggled as he chased her into the bathroom.
What are you a fucking school girl?
✽✽✽
Connor took his time drying Alexandra’s gorgeous body. He hadn’t gone into the shower with the intention of tupping her again, but he hadn’t been able to help himself. She’d been all soapy and slippery. And playful. He hadn’t been able to resist and before he knew it her legs were wrapped around his waist and he was fucking her against the shower wall.
He should be more than satisfied after last night and this morning, but he couldn’t seem to get enough of her. She was beautiful. Pale skin, lovely round breasts, biteable ass, lush pink lips and those warm eyes that entranced him no matter the emotion in them.
Jaysus, I’m mad fer her.
He kept his focus on the task at hand, and when he’d dried every inch of her skin, he wrapped the large towel around her and shooed her out of the bathroom before she noticed that he was hard again. At this rate she was going to think him a priapic letch.
He towelled off briskly, avoided his situation and wrapped the towel around his hips. He ran his hand through his hair a few times, trying to arrange it into some semblance of a style, but as usual, it was hopeless.
Alexandra was frowning into her dresser drawer when he exited the bathroom.
“So what’s on the agenda today?” He asked.
“Apparently, laundry.” She said with a sarcastic smile. She closed one drawer, and opened another, pulling out a pair of sweatpants-- the pair he’d bought her at the gym last week. She dropped the towel and slipped on the sweatpants. Without underwear. While he stood there gawping like a teenage boy with a nudy magazine.
He started toward her, drawn by the sight of all that creamy skin still on display and the knowledge that only a thin piece of fabric separated him from heaven. She turned and her eyes widened as she registered the hungry look on his face, and no doubt noticed he’d tented his towel.
“Connor.” She said quietly. He couldn’t tell if she was shocked, appalled or impressed that he seemed to be preparing to ravage her again so soon. Her eyes said impressed, and maybe even eager.
“You’ve no one to blame but yerself, you know.” He said with a grin. He dropped the towel and her eyes went wide. Her tongue darted out and ran across her upper lip, still plumped from their kisses in the shower. He groaned and took his shaft in hand as he advanced toward her.
Her cheeks were pink and her breathing picked up. Until the phone rang.
Who the feck has a fecking landline?
It took her a second, but she tore her eyes away and checked the caller ID on the portable phone on her dresser. She frowned, but picked it up.
“I have to take this. Sorry.” She muttered as she answered the call.
“Not as sorry as I am.” Connor mumbled under his breath as he picked up the towel and headed downstairs to retrieve his clothes.
He retrieved his clothes from the livingroom floor and dressed, minus his boxer briefs. He ventured into the kitchen and started a pot of coffee. When it was done, he grabbed two mugs, smiling as he filled her favorite mug and added an ungodly amount of cream and sugar, as he’d seen her do last Sunday.
Since Alexandra still seemed to be occupied, he carried the mugs upstairs and found her laying on the bed, now also wearing a t-shirt, talking on the phone. He couldn’t help but grin when he noticed that she lay on her stomach, legs bent at the knee and crossed at the ankle, swaying back and forth in the air.
Alexandra was a competent, intelligent professional woman. Who had no idea what one wore to a club, who seemed almost shy at times, and who apparently still gabbed on the phone like a teenager.
He stepped around the bed and into her field of vision, setting the coffee on her dresser. He leaned against it and took a sip from his cup. She flashed him a sweet smile when she noticed him. It widened when he inched her cup forward with a finger and she noticed the cup.
“I still can’t believe it.” She said into the phone. “I know, but I still think of you as the topless table dancer of Sigma Pi.” Alexandra laughed at something she heard and Connor cocked an eyebrow. “Oh, I’m going to tell that story, but maybe not at the wedding. Maybe at the Hen Night.” Alexandra rolled her eyes. She listened a moment and laughed again.
Connor thought he could listen to her laugh forever. It was the sweetest sound he’d heard in a long time.
“Okay, Madonna.” She sighed. “I have to go. I’m very busy and important you know. Love you. See you next week.”
Alexandra ended the call and chuckled to herself. She sat up and smiled at him, clearly having enjoyed her conversation.
“Sorry. That was Meagan. She’s my best friend. We went to college together. She’s getting married in London.”
“Ah.” Connor nodded. “That explains it.”
“Yeah, her fiance is a great guy. He’s in finance. Very British and sophisticated… unless he’s had a few pints.” She laughed.
Before he was aware of what he was doing, Connor had set his coffee down and was kneeling on the bed in front of Alexandra. He put his hands on her hips and pulled her to him, taking her mouth in a thorough and leisurely kiss. He was gentle and coaxing until she opened for him and then he took his time exploring and tasting. She kissed him back with hungry strokes of her tongue, molding her mouth to his in a way that made him groan.
He twisted them, toppling them onto the bed, never breaking the kiss. He rested on his forearms, cradling her face in his hands. Suddenly she broke the kiss, panting.
“Let me up, Connor.” She said.
“What if I don’t want to?” He teased, kissing the smooth column of her neck.
“Connor.” She gasped. But it wasn’t pleasure in her voice, it was fear. Shite.
Connor scrambled back and sat up, moving off to the side. Alexandra sat up quickly, tugging her knees to her chest. Her face was bleak and Connor felt his heart twist in anguish.
“God, Lex. I’m sorry. Are you okay?” He asked. He didn’t touch her, not wanting to make it worse.
“Y-yes. I’m okay.” She whispered, squeezing her eyes shut too late to prevent a single tear from tracking down her cheek.
“Jesus, love.” He touched her shoulder tentatively, and when she didn’t pull away, he moved beside her and pulled her onto his lap. He waited anxiously to see if she would push away, keeping his hold on her loose. After a tense moment, she leaned her head against his shoulder and slung an arm around his neck and he released the breath he’d been holding.
Alexandra took several deep breaths, sniffling, and he simply held her gently as she collected herself. After a few minutes, she straightened enough to wipe her face and look up at him.
“I’m sorry.” She said.
“No reason to be sorry.” He said firmly. “I get it, remember?” She nodded weakly and lowered her eyes. He kissed the top of her head and squeezed her.
“Thank you.
She said, sniffing again. She took a deep breath and made to scoot off his lap. He let her go, reluctantly, but stopped her from standing up.
“Wait here a bit.” He said, standing. He handed her her coffee from the dresser and then went to the bathroom. After rummaging a little, he found what he was looking for and returned to find her giving him a curious look. He smiled and sat on the bed, scooting back until he could lean against the headboard.
“Come here.” He said, reaching for her cup. She handed it to him and he set it on the nightstand. She crawled toward him looking a bit wary. “Sit here and I’ll brush your hair.” He explained, holding up the brush he’d retrieved from her bathroom.
“You want to brush my hair?” She asked amused and a little incredulous.
“Yeah, I do.” He nodded. She shrugged and sat between his outstretched legs. Once she was comfortable, he handed her her coffee and she took an appreciative sip. “Did I get it right?” For some reason he was anxious about the answer.
“It’s perfect. Thank you.” She turned and gave him a small, sweet smile.
Connor ran his fingers through her still damp hair, toying with the ends a bit, enjoying the softness of them, and the way they’d already begun to dry in waves.
“You know, when ma was workin’ and it was just us, I had to learn how to take care of my sister. She could bathe on her own, thank God, but I had to help her with her hair. It was a mass of curls, and thick. She was such a brat about it, too. She’d go days without combin’ it and by the time she let me brush it for her it would be a massive snarl.”
Alexandra laughed and Connor chuckled too at the memory.
“I used to have to make up fantastic stories to keep her still while I got it sorted. Then, when she got older, for some reason, I kept helpin’ her with her hair. I even learned to braid it for Christ’s sake.” He admitted, feeling his cheeks burn when she turned to gape at him. He gently turned her head forward as he picked up the brush and began to gently work through her hair.
“When she was older, she’d sit and tell me all about what was going on-- school, boy trouble, drama with her friends. I’d listen, and brush her hair and by the end she’d feel better for it.”
