“Not that.” His head shook. “I’m talking about a certain proposal you cornered me with after knocking me out cold a few days prior.”
“I asked you to help me become a better kisser. Not get me knocked up the same night I lost my virginity.” I blinked at him, waiting.
His mouth quirked. “Not sure if I owe you my apologies or my congratulations?”
“Neither.” I tucked my arms beneath his, feeling his presence wash over me. “You only owe me for better or for worse.”
His eyes flashed. “For richer or poorer.”
“’Til death do us part.”
Edward kissed my forehead. “I do.”
I exhaled. Fully and peacefully. “Me too.”
“And they lived happily ever after,” he whispered.
Unable to resist, I lifted the pan behind his head and tapped it gently. “In their own unique way.”
